hello everyone and welcome to module 3 tracking and conversions in this video we're going to be setting up our tracking machine and also Facebook custom conversions I've been saying this a million times in the program what makes a successful Facebook Advertiser what makes him so successful is him knowing his numbers so he can basically scale on good ads and basically have good running ads 247 and how do we do that is knowing our numbers but for that for you to actually know your numbers you need to set some things up to make sure that the
tracking is done correctly and that we track conversions track lead uh lead volume um and basically track everything that we need to track to get some successful ads and keep them running okay and we're going to set that up in this video all right so without further Ado here's what we're going to cover we're going to discuss how to navigate the stormy seas of Facebook with the Polaris star and I'll get further into that what that me really means what water Polaris star um means to us um and how do we navigate this right because
Facebook can be really a stormy sea it has millions of advertisers on there but not every not all of those people all of those millions of people are actually finding a lot of success with it okay um and our tracking stack right so the tools we actually use to get clean data and key performance indicators so what do we use um and we've given you a couple of tools already throughout this module but what is exactly what is you know what are really just the key things that we use to track data um so we
know exactly what our ads are doing what the results are right because the last thing you want to do is just throw ads online on Facebook and just get some leads and not know your numbers because you're going to you're going to waste a lot of money right so we're going to discuss step one setting up our Google tag manager I'll get further into that to exactly what that is step two setting up Facebook custom conversions so Facebook can optimize um you know the conversions that we actually want it to optimize for which is leads
right uh and then step three step three is checking and testing everything this is incredibly crucial sure that we test and test all these different variables and all these tracking methods um so we don't make any mistakes when we're actually live right so and then the last thing is action items so how to navigate the stormy seas of Facebook with the Polaris star so knowing your numbers is everything when it comes to Facebook advertising if you don't know your numbers you're basically flying an airplane blind crashing isn't a risk it's guaranteed and that is very
true with Facebook okay you need to track track and track um and it isn't as hard as it may sound but a lot of Facebook advertisers especially in this industry they just throw Facebook ads you know they just throw a thousand bucks on Facebook ads and just hope it sticks right that's not the type of game that we want to play we want to play this game like true scientists here okay um kpi so the metrics we use to determine the state of our Facebook ad and our funnels conversion rate we discussed this in the
last vide videoos what type of cap apis are we really looking for when it comes to running Facebook ads and the Polaris star and when I mentioned Polaris star it means return on investment the true north and this is how we this is how we came up with our name North flow Consulting right because it's the flow of the true north we are looking always for the Polaris star which is return on investment the true north and The Guiding star for measuring performance and making decisions as that is why we track it's for you to
make knowledgeable and correct decisions when it comes to face ads as when you know your numbers you know if you should kill ads scale them keep them keep them running right so that's why we've got this and with Facebook ads and finding for the Polaris star and looking for it you want to think like an investor right the best Facebook advertisers are calm cold and calculating they don't feel or think things they know things and back every decision up with data they're fund managers not artist and the end objective will always remain the same it's
to get customers right A lot of people when it comes to modern day advertising they think you know you just need you need to get a bunch of eyeballs you know on your ads and you know just you'll make a lot of money like it's just the modern day advertising with TV ads and a lot of people are still in that sort of bubble right what we're trying to do here is instead of doing that and spending tons of money trying to show our ads to as many people as possible we're looking for a group
of people who are the correct prospects and that's who we're going to be showing arounds to it's not only cheaper but it works better right um and Facebook advertisers are fund managers because everyone here has a fund everyone here has you know sort of a a maximum that they can spend on Facebook ads without you know digging a ditch for themselves right and you're the fund manager you're the investor and you need to spend your money very smart okay and that's how we're going to that's how we're going to do it with Facebook ads and
for that you need data you need clean data so our tracking stack the tools we use to get clean data and kpis right so to get the full picture of what's going on with our Facebook ads and funnel conversion rates we need to install different tracking tools on all of our landing pages funnels websites Etc and so here's what we use we use Google tag manager we use this as the container that holds all of our tracking scripts in one place you don't need to understand what it really means I'll show you how to set
it up in just a second and it'll become quite clear once we're actually on it right we're going to set up our Facebook pixel um some of you may know what this is some of you may not it's just the sort of a small pixel a Facebook plans on your websites and landing pages so they basically can continue tracking even when a person is off Facebook and that's why Facebook ads are so amazing as people as we as businesses who run Facebook ads they always have the Facebook pixel on there so Facebook doesn't only have
data uh on you when you're on Facebook well they'll have data on you when you're off Facebook they'll have your purchase uh purchase history they'll have um you they'll know what you like they know what videos you watch what articles you read as that Facebook pixel is everywhere and that's how we track and that's how it's so powerful and that's how Facebook knows so much about everyone right and that's how they get in trouble a lot because a lot of people think they know too much right so and high level we use to track appointment
rate show rate body pass rate no shows cancellations and sales conversions right and this is kind of the all the things that we use and then the tracking sheet is where we kind of combine all this data into one sheet right into one sort of nice sheet so you can you don't have to switch between different softwares constantly and eventually you'll just have an you know amazing data for months of running advertising and you'll see exactly the trends okay so we use this Google sheet template to consolidate all key data from all places each day
and you can find it in module 3 Facebook game plan and we I showed you how to use it and I showed you what all the tabs mean okay okay so let's get into step one step one setting up Google tag manager so a Google tag manager is the container that we place on all of the pages on our on your website and funnel right so the way we do this is we're going to put this on um it's really just a tracking code that we can connect with Facebook so Facebook put could put a
pixel on your funnel right so if you have a franchise website for you for if you have a franchise website that you don't have any access to that you don't have a pixel for that's fine we're going to set it up for your funnel with your separate domain if you do have your own website you're going to want to do this for your website and funnel as we want to be tracking visitors on your website as well for future retargeting ads which we'll discuss in module 5 how to scale and build how to set up
a retargeting machine and all some some really sort of Facebook ninja ninja tricks okay but we need to set these things up and especially for the funnel because this is how we track clicks page visitors and leads right um and we place the container there and then we can inject or remove any code snippers we want at any time from uh from any place right so create a free Google tech manager account right here so let's do that together so um if you go to that marketing platform. google.com you know if you click that link
um and what you can really just do if you have a Google email um or a Google Business email set up they'll usually you'll usually already have account an account created um I'm just going to drag this over um what you can just do is really just type in Google tag manager um and click this link right here if you have a Google um business account set up it'll probably just reconnect it to Google tag manager if you don't set it up it's free right um you really just need a Google email okay um so
this is what it would look like after you've set up your Google tag manager account a very clean um a very clean sort of you know it doesn't really look like anything but we're going to make it look like something as this is what we're going to use to track okay this is what we're going to this is kind of sort of the middleman to connect Facebook to Google tag manager and Google tag manager to our websites and funnels right so I hope that makes sense so we're going to um create a Google tag manager
account right here so we're going to create an account you're just going to type in um you know you obviously want to do uh whatever whatever country you're in whilst I'm recording this I am in the Netherlands and I just don't want anything to um you know make uh don't want anything to happen with that so just type in your full company name and type the country you don't have to put this on share data anonymously with Googles and others you don't have to do that and you just want to type in your domain so
if you have a franchise like say nine round Anytime Fitness and you have a franchise website that you don't really have access to um because you have like this sort of like franchise page um you're going to want to type in the separate domain that we for a funnel right but if you do have your own website and you know your website website domain is the same for your funnel right you're going to want to just type in your normal domain so I'm just going to use NFC deos.com the one that we use to set
up the funnel um that we use to set up this funnel right here um so if you on a franchise funnel it is pretty simple you just want to follow the steps ahead with me I'm going to use this um this domain right and if you guys are using you know separate domain like anytimefitness location.com right you're just going to use that that for that so I'm going to use NFC deos.com okay um let me actually make sure that I'm typing yeah you do need a ww with that so I'm just going to copy that
all right and we're going to press web for use for use on desktop and mobile web pages we don't have IOS we don't we don't want to touch anything just this and then we're going to want to create um you just want to accept all this that's fine you can read it if you want but just eventually you're going to have to press yes on that so it should be creating in just a second and Bam there we go so the next thing we're going to do is we're going to back going to back to
the PowerPoint we're going to be creating a Facebook pixel Facebook pixel from your web business manager and install the tracking code in Google tag manager all right so you just want going to click off and you're want to go to or you're going to want to go to business manager the the thing that we set up in the last couple videos um so it looks should look something like this this is the test business manager that we set up um so if you have a business manager and you have the set up you should have
Pages um probably preferably more than one ad account and one ad account with payment method in there right it's just sort of a neat trick so whenever our ads get shut down and say you know down in the future spend like 100 bucks a day which is what we want you to grow to even 200 bucks a day and you want to keep the ad running because you know you got to keep your business growing we'll have backup ad accounts so we can just keep them running right so what we want to do is we
want to go to um business settings right here and we want to go to pixels so you might have a pixel in here you might not have a pixel in there you might have a franchise pixel that the franchise shared with you that um basically gives you all the data from people visiting your franchise website which is great we're going definitely want to keep that um but for most of you you will either have maybe something you set up in the past or something or it's just clean so I'm just going to follow follow the
follow ahead and just show you how we set up our pixel for our funnel and our website so you're going to want to press add right and you're going to want to give it a good name so and you're going to want to add this is optional um but if you're using the same domain for your funnel or your any website you know just add it Facebook likes it when you give them just as much data as possible that's kind of the way to you know to really not get your get your account shut down
um and you're want to press continue so we're going to set up up pixel now so uh yeah we're going to set it up now you can do this you know you can hold it off and do it do it when you have some time um we're just going to set it up now so you can manually add a pixel code to the website uh you can email instructions we just don't want to touch this as Facebook gives you a bunch of um bunch of much easier ways to do this automatically um and what we're
going to do is really just add codes using a partner integration and that's what we're going to do and that one is going to be good Google tag manager okay um you're going to want to press continue so you won't have uh you won't have to manually set up you know this just great your grow your audience size turn off uh turn off automatic Advanced matching um you want to turn that yeah you want to turn that on so this is just a face this is just a way for Facebook to even get you know
better results for you so for any way to Facebook to really help you out which is usually just offering you more data and more optimization say yes right um and then we're going to connect an account so I'm just going to drag it over all over over here but it should be very easy to follow for you guys you just want to going to connect the um the account that we just set set up so I'm just going to do that right here on my screen all right so took a little while to get that
fixed but there we go um for you guys you shouldn't have any problems so um after you've done that after you've connected your account um which should basically be connected to your email then you pick an account um for you guys it should probably only be one um if you haven't used this before and then you're just going to press finish setup might take a little second for that to happen all right um and yeah you're just going to want to add your yes okay um so what we're going to do now is we're going
to back out and now we're going to go to Google tag manager again so the first thing we want to do is we want to grab our header and body code this is sort of the code that Google tag manager and Facebook pixel uses to actually that we use to actually put these tracking things on there the way to get that is really simple you just press this number right here okay you will get a header code and a body code you're going to want to copy the header code okay and you're going to want
to go to into your clickfunnels and you also want to do this for your website um if you have access to that if you don't maybe another company has that you're going to want to tell them to do that um so and you want to make sure that you put this in the header code and this in the body code so I'm going to show you how you can how we're going to set I'm going to set this up for the funnels guys but if you have a website that you have access to that's your
own website with your own main link to it you also want to set this up for your website um and yeah you want to set this up for your website instead of your funnel because if we set this up for your website um and your funnel is connected to the same domain it'll also put the pixel on your funnel um and what you can do is you can also do double right so I'm just going to set this up for the funnel um and you can follow do the same thing if you don't want to
pixel on your website there's no reason why it's because want to use that for retargeting later um but I'm just going to show you how we do it for the funnel so you're going to go to settings and you're going to put in that head tracking code right here so just want to make sure it looks nice nice and easy there okay and we're going to go back and we're going to copy the body tracking code and we're going to add that to the body tracking code right there all right and then you're going to
want to press scroll down and you're going to want to save all right so now we're going to go back to fix Facebook pixel and we're going to continue setting up pixel um I made a little mistake here um you actually have to put that code in there before um before you use the um Google tag manager so you just want to follow this process again I'm just going to drag this over um there's some sensitive information that I can't show you guys but it is very easy just connect your Google tag manager account all
right so after you've basically followed the steps um it's actually very straightforward so I'm just going to tell you right now what what you need to do is set up this okay um on Google tag manager right so you want to make sure that this is just set up okay um you want to add you want to press this code this code right here put that in your clickfunnels right in the settings right here head and tracking body okay then you want to go to Facebook pi pixel set it all up it's very simple it
really does everything straight and straightforward until you enter this page right here and you just want to press close Okay so I can do a quick Refresh on this so the way that we test this and then we that we test that Facebook is actually uh properly integrated we'll do in just a second so let's move back to the PowerPoint so find your tracking code then copy and paste it in a body and head trackon code for a section for all your funnels within clickfunnels and also your website if possible right um and any other
place a visitor could be right so this is you know any other websites you guys might be using you want to put that head and body tracking code that I showed you and just that it showed you from Google tag manager let me just show you that again right here press that these two codes then you want to set up the pixel right and and once you've installed the tracking code on all of your funnels webss make sure that you verified it's installed successfully using Google tag managers preview tool if it's on all of your
pages then you're good to go so the way that we test this is we're going to go to uh you can do this on your website or your funnel depending on um you know your own variables and we're just going to press um preview you know you just want to make sure that you're on the actual website or on the actual funnel then we're going to go to Google tag manager um and first thing we want to do is we want to make sure that tags we've got a Facebook pixel ID right here right we
want to make sure that's there you also want to make sure that this is a live version okay you want to make sure this is a live version and now what we do is we press preview here in the top right okay so now previewing workspace default workspace you can pre preview and debug the workspace so um what we do now is we go to our website we press a quick refresh and Bam there you go and you should see tags fired on this page Facebook pixel Facebook pixel is actually on there okay awesome so
if that works and you want to make sure that you test this for all the pages okay so um this is the front page you want to make sure that for your website if you've done this for your website as well that this shows up on all your pages so it shows for the funnel page and especially if you're just doing this for the funnel you want to test it now you want to go to the thank you page make sure it works on that bam there we go works on that as well Facebook pixel
is installed right and if you have a website you just want to do this for all your page on the website it should all be fine but you just want to make sure that you test this and test this there we go it's working again Facebook pixel installed the terms there we go Facebook pixel installed okay awesome so that's working um and another way you can test this is with an actual app which I'm just going to pop up on my screen right here so um this only works on Google Google Chrome um Google Chrome
tag manager um not Google just Google Chrome the actual website so what we have um and this is a good way to actually check and also on your to check on your competitors right is um install a app called I'm just going to show you what this looks like um in real life install a app called in the top right here Facebook pixel helper um that works for any website it is being a little slow right now um but basically what that Facebook pixel helper will do and what it will help you with is it
will actually show um it isn't doing that right now because it's still loading um just got to make sure that it's loading and refreshing there we go so as you can see this is our main website and you can see we all we obviously also use Facebook pixel right um to track to track people on the website and this is how you can check on your own website as well that if you have this app on Google Chrome you can check this on your own website as well that you have it installed right and you
want to make sure you do this for all the pages so you know if I go to the program page it's on there as well and this is how you can check it really quick without you know so you know so now you know from two sides okay the pixel is really on there okay okay so let's click that off all right so once you've installed it make sure you test it make sure that everything is good to go right um in Google tag manager and then what you want to do is obviously because you
want to you know this is all uh because that this will show in your pages right um you want to leave preview mode all right there we go okay so let's go to step two it's a little bit uh it's a little bit disoriented but it's super simple guys get Google tag manager right get the head and body tracking code put that in all your um tracking code for your websites and funnels then install the Facebook pixel using the partner integration Google tag manager then test uh test it on all your websites right so once
that's installed Facebook pixel will be automatically put into the tracking codes for your websites go to preview mode test everything make sure Facebook pixel is in there you can download the app so to you know double test it and after that you've got a Facebook pixel on your website and Facebook is tracking data and is tracking whoever is visiting your website okay so step two is we're going to set up Facebook custom conversions right because we now what Facebook does is it tracks only website visitors what we want to do is actually when a when
a when a visitor M does a sort of action takes a certain event for us it's going to be a lead right from one page to the other we want Facebook to track that and optimize for it because what it'll do is actually find people um that have similar trades to the people who actually sign up for offer and it will find people and show ads to those people and that's how we keep the cost down and keep you know our ads incredibly effective so the way we want to do that is we uh Facebook
custom conversions are unique tracking events so we create we create so that we can track user Behavior outside of the Facebook platform right and report it back to Facebook for tracking and Report reporting purposes okay so what we want to do is we going to go we want to go uh we want to go to you know the business manager on Facebook that you guys should all have set up all right um this should all be this should all be done yeah you just want to go to the um business manager on Facebook then go
to business settings right business settings right here and then go to pixels again so as you as you see you want to make sure that the pixel's active see because we installed it just a second ago it says active last received 10 minutes ago okay um so it's tracking all data all website visitors and this is what we're going to use for retargeting in the future as well um you want to make sure you also add people to this so you want to make sure that you've add yourself or members of your team just so
you know you actually have access to this and now what we want to go is we want to open this pixel in the events manager in the top right okay um and it should come up with a screen just like this so what we want to do is we want to go to the left right here go to business manager go to dat data sources right data sources which is basically just this as you can see right here so it's just an events manager pixel what I just show you then we go to customs conversions
and we press add so custom conversions right here and create a custom conversion all right so the only custom conversion we're going to set up right now is an actual Facebook lead right okay because that's the only thing that we're really going to be optimizing for here that's the only thing we're going to use Facebook for um in the future we can set up different types of costom conversions but right now the only thing we're going to use face for is really to sign sign on people for our offer right so the way the set
this up is very simple might look a little difficult so first of all we're going to name it and what we like to name is something really simple we like to name it trial lead okay as we're going to be um as we're going to be signing up people for our trial right a free session a free week a free 10day trial you can call this whatever just don't call this a lead as Facebook already has things named leads so just call it something that you that makes sense for you you can also call it
click funnels lead all right so just turn Facebook off there there's no reason to have that there so click funns lead so we're going to select a character category category and we want to press lead and we want to enter a value so you want to enter not $100 you want to enter a one EUR or $1 value you want to just do this one um so Facebook and you don't want to do 10 or you don't want to do whatever you want to pay for leads just do $1 um and Facebook will optimize for
really just get the cheapest price and really just get a try to try as much as possible to get a $1 lead won't happen for you guys but you just want to make sure that you've got this set right so um yeah you want to add the value $1 or one EUR I've got a set up for one EUR and now we're going to set up what the actual um custom conversion is so as you know we're going to be directing people to this page right here right we're going to be directing people to this
page right here and they're going to opt in for this where they're going to opt into this form right um once they've done that and if you set everything up with high level once they actually fill in their information and they said text me my free free 10day pass they should be redirected to the thank you page so technically when a person a specific person comes on this page and he ends on this page right let me just do that let me actually get the real page here just copy and paste that so when a
person clicks on our Facebook ad ends on this page fills in this information and ends on this page Technically when a person comes on this and ends on this that's a lead right as there's no other way for a prospect or a lead to actually come on to actually you know visit this page without filling in their information you know they can change this domain but they won't know the domain for that no one will try that but you know so technically if they end on here that's a lead right because the only way to
you know come on this page is by filling in their information and signing up for the offer so that's what we're going to set up in Facebook custom conversions okay so we're going to go back to Facebook custom conversions and we want to go to a free a front page which is you know for me it's NFC demos uh /t trial um for you might be something else for you might be called um you know uh CrossFit 3 392 slash7 days I don't know something like that um and this is only for your funnel guys
so you don't have to do this for your website this is only for your funnel you know doesn't really matter what domain you're using as long as the Facebook pixel is installed on that domain which we just did in the last uh last last slide so you want to copy this um you're going to wonder not actually copy all of this the only thing you're want to you're going to you're going to want to copy is this piece right here NFC deos.com trial as when we also add this it really Facebook is very specific so
it really will only look for something like this and we're just looking for something that only contains this as you know sometimes click funnels will add a bunch of numbers to this right so that won't count as a visitor sometimes clickfunnels will you know um you not have the https but h HTTP there um and sometimes the WW won't be there right so these are all things that we want to make sure Facebook does you know that we don't make the mistake with that but what whatever uh type of way they visit and whatever clickfunnels
add this piece right here will always be contained in the link so that's what we're going to copy so the way this works is website event all URL traffic so all traffic that goes to the that goes to a URL that can contains this piece of data this string right here NFC deos.com trial right this one then we want to add another rule so once they've they've clicked on this page right and we want to make sure that we track conversions and that's this page right so once they actually convert and sign up they will
sign up and this will be the link um that that will that will be for this page right so we don't want to do the full link we just want to do what what will always be contained in this domain link which is NFC deos.com than you whatever domain you're using right and we want to add that so now the way this works and the way this Facebook will track this is this will only be a quick it will only count as a click Fun's lead when the person comes on a page that contains this
this domain this sort of this tracking code I mean this link and also enters the thank you page right we don't want people who just visit the trial page and don't actually visit the thank you page as they don't sign up right we want to make sure that they visit the trial page and the tri and the thank you page because that means that they signed up as this is the only you cannot this is the only way to visit this page by signing up right I'm I I might I might sound like I'm telling
this like a fifth grader but you know I just want to make sure that you guys understand this um because eventually you know you're going to have to use Facebook on your own so you want to understand the platform form and you want to understand what customer versions are okay so if it you you know if it looks something like this um if it has your domain here if it has your op- in page it has your thank you page you've called it something that isn't just lead but something that understand and that you can
pick out of the pick out of the crowd you've got a categor categorizes lead and also value € EUR or $1 you're going to create your custom conversion click fance lead has been successfully created you can assign the custom conversion to an out account in your business settings okay so there we go this should all be set up and this is how you can edit it as well so as you can see there's no activity yet first of all we're going to go to business settings again business settings we're going to go to add accounts
I've only got one account but you're going to want to pick the ad account that is you know that you're actually going to advertise from with the connected payment method we're going to add an asset um actually we're not going to add an asset we're going to go to Facebook changes this constantly so it is sometimes even a little tricky for me um you're going to go to pixels let me see here yeah okay so you're going to go to pixels and instead of adding assets on the ad account you're going to do it on
pixels so we've just set this up this pixel we want to make sure that we get to use this pixel when when we're actually running ads from our ad account right so we're going to press add assets on the on our pixel that we just set up and we're going to pick the add account right here and we're going to press add all right okay so now we've created the custom conversions that you need to measure and now let's test this so now let's actually test that this actually all works okay so it's a very
simple way and Facebook has added this feature where recording this and it's a super nice way to actually test this without you know waiting for stuff because it's all um all live so we're going to go to our pixel again in the events manager I'm just going to click some of these things off um as we won't touch this anymore Google Tac manager set up right okay um and we're going to go to Facebook pixel and the events manager as you can see it's active it's up and rolling um you know we've got nine page
viws from Europe Amsterdam which is where I'm at right now now um so you know it's actually working and you want you want to have this the same for you guys so we've also got to custom conversions we've got one right here and it doesn't have any activity yet but we are going to make some activity right now um and this guys this Facebook picture this is set up for all our web pages right so there's on all our web pages we're going to use this because once people you know the way we're going to
use this is people are going to click on our trial on our on our on our ad and some won't sign up so we're going to set up retargeting so we can get them back in get them back on the page because sometimes you know they just don't have time they forget procrastination whatever right and we need to pay St for that we're also going to set up audiences so um we're going to set up audiences of say you get 100 or 500 leads in total we're going to set up audiences um look like audiences
for people that have the same sort of traits as the people who sign up you need a pixel for that right um we're going to set up um audiences from 90day website visitors 60-day website videos V visitors 30-day website visitors you need a pixel for that you need a pixel to get accurate tracking data okay and for Facebook to optimize so how do we test the custom conversion very easy we're going to press the pixel and we're going to press first of all actually this is something um that I think and then now do automatically
yeah so Advanced matching you want that on on your pixel so when you go to settings right here when you go to settings you want to press that on and here you can also share with other business manager accounts you can also share um you know share with other out accounts stuff like that you can do all that sort of stuff okay so now we're going to test events so we're going to go to our website and refresh that do that open website so you're going to press the link we're going to open for your
funnel right so the opt-in page and we're going to wait for Facebook to hit this so let's just refresh this for a second all right refesh refresh this too and it should be running fine unless all right for some reason um it wasn't working on Firefox um most of you won't be using Firefox I just use it for because it's clean I don't actually use it for my personal use um but for you guys it shouldn't be any problem um sometimes you know because we're recording these videos we're doing everything really from scratch and for
you guys it is all is all going to be very um you know a lot more detailed because it's for your own business because we all all have this set up but it's just all for demo account so sometimes it is a little problem um but you guys for you when you're testing this this should just happen immediately um so I'm on my opin page right now and as you can see URL page view NFC demo trial.com Doom because we're testing events see so you know okay awesome it's actually working right um and right now
I only have it installed for the funnels right um but for instance say I go to privacy policy right now which which I think is just privacy or maybe not actually maybe it is I know that let's see let's see what that set up as um oh well so it is pretty so yeah as you can see three page for now because I've refreshed it three times um if you guys are also setting this up for your website you're just going to want to you know go scroll around between uh you know tabs and different
pages and make sure that it's all tracking um and as you can see pixels on there so install Facebook pixel helper on Google Chrome there you can actually see that pixel is on there this is like Facebook's apps just like you know set this all up yourself so um and actually see and you can also do this for you know your own um you know your competitors for instance if I do this if I type in um Anytime Fitness you'll see Anytime Fitness has a pixel on there as well right they have actually two pixels
on there so uh yeah um big companies will probably do that usually just to be safe um okay so let's go back and now let's test the custom conversion so I'm a dummy I'm a prospect I I'm a dummy lead I mean I'm a prospect I click my I click the ad I love what it does and now I will fill in will fill in my info just doing that on the other page here all right all right so now I fill in my info CU I love this Alpha looks amazing right watch the video
and everything awesome all right so now I'm going to text my free 10day pass all right for some reason that's not set up the way it's supposed to be it's probably because I made a little mistake with um you know testing this but for you guys what it should what should happen is very simple um if you set this up correctly in high level that you know once they opt in you redirect them to the thank you page you should enter your page right here okay all right um and then this should also we're going
to go to overview we're going to go to custom conversions make sure that we refresh this we're going to refresh this as well and this might take a second for it to like actually like Spike um but it should be spiking in just a second all right for some reason it isn't hitting so let's just and this is this is what's going to happen with Facebook ads so it's kind of funny that even for me sometimes it's not working um so what we're going to do is we're going to do this set up set this
up again so we're going to delete this lead we're going to delete this custom conversion okay and we're going to create a new one because we know that the pixel's firing we just know that the custom conversion isn't working and I think I know what I made the mistake here was um because you know this has been a long time since I've set this up um actually what we've added what we did was we added both the trial link and the thank you link but if they enter this if the only way to you know
enter this link is by actually signing up through the offer to actually get through on this page by signing up through the offer you actually just want to add this link so NFC demos right there it's the only one you want to add you want to add click funnel lead click funnel lead press and select lead add $1 or one Euro all URL traffic NFC thank you contains oh you actually want to for some reason it did the big part of the link you want to make sure was just this link part contains this you
don't want to do equals because click FAL sums adds n something sometimes add numbers contains this part click from those lead create there we go now what you do is you refresh this page couple times you can also do this again right refresh it again now refresh on Facebook and Bam there we go all right that was a little bit of a tricky situation um I made a couple mistakes there uh in the beginning but eventually this should all be set up this should be active your pixel should be active when you go to the
website Pages the pixel should be on there Google tag manager should also trigger it when you're in preview mode right so just again because I actually made this mistake as well so it's completely fine if you make this mistake too just add the thank you page to the custom conversion as the only way to get to this thank you page is by signing up to the alpha right okay let's get back into the PowerPoint all right so so now step three is checking everything and testing everything right so um successful Facebook Facebook advertisers are thorough
um detail oriented and they test everything 10 times a day so make sure you've followed every step of this setup process correctly and don't cut corners or bend rules right so um you know I made a couple mistakes and you're going to make a couple mistakes that's fine as long as you test everything and eventually at the end of the day it works so now if you installed Google tag manager set up your Facebook pixel and custom conversions it's time to thoroughly test everything to ensure that it's water type so you might want to just
what you what I what I recommend doing is really just um creating some sort of um role play so person enters U goes on to the page he signs up um then he ENT enters the thank you page right check that on Facebook that that's all connecting that the custom conversion was triggering then continue the conversation on High level right make sure that that's all sending out the Facebook lead nuring campaigns and stuff like that um and that's how you want to do that in my opinion so and this step in the process is absolutely
vital because we want to make sure that this is all working and tested as once we actually go live we don't want to have it not working like it wasn't working for me right so at this stage I'm assuming you've completed steps one and two and verified your tag manager and Facebook pixel is installed correctly right should be on your page should be in to Google tag manager preview mode preview mode should be working right and should have a Facebook pixel on there if you install that Facebook pixel app it should be on your website
pages and on your funnel and you should have verified both of these things using the preview tool within Google tag manager and if you haven't done this go back to steps one and two and do it now so testing your custom conversions using your browser and refresh the page which I just showed you how to do check that these conversion events have a green light and are marked active right showed show you as well what that looks like looks like this active and also on the pixel itself right here active Okay 28 page RS because
