hey guys all right welcome everyone in the midst of a highway a motorcyclist is fleeing from police cars trespassing on nearby properties and eventually falling into a swimming pool unable to escape the young man's name is Sean who is soon arrested later Hank a former Navy sailor and Sean's stepfather arrives to investigate the incident discovering that the boy had hacked into a satellite station fortunately Hank has respect among the police officers and takes the boy back home upon arriving home his mother Liz is upset with her son who doesn't feel like talking much and appears
unhappy with his new life in another city Sean goes to his room and has a letter in his hands containing a mysterious message that only he can decipher in the morning Hank talks to Sean who is trying to decipher the message Hank approaches and upon looking at it says it appears to be Morse code but he can help if Sean tells him where it came from Sean explains that one night on a radio frequency he heard those words repeated several times which is why he hacked the satellite to try to locate the source of the
signal Hank assists him and speaks the first words which say the island is real leaving them surprised excited Sean quickly grabs a book and shows the topic related to the message or many fans of this tale searched for that Island they discover more a name and a date so Sean retrieves another book from his belongings called Treasure Island but they find one more book Gulliver's Travels they have three books by different authors that talk about the same subject the books contain Maps each different from the other but Hank thinking of something tears them apart and
combines the three revealing that they form a single map Hank deciphers the coordinates showing that the island is located in the middle of the South Pacific happy with the discovery Sean starts organizing some things for his journey however Hank tells him that he's not going because the message was just from another fan obsessed with that Tale Sean believes it was his grandfather the first in the family to start researching that Island who disappeared two years ago without anyone knowing where he is so he sets out to find his grandfather and the mythical Island later Hank
talks to Liz and tells her about what they discovered saying that Sean needs a male figure so he decided to go with him the next day Hank goes to Sean and shows him their passports leaving his stepson surprised they arrive at the first destination of their trip and Sean goes to find a boat to rent but the first man refuses the offer because the place they want to go is dangerous nearby another man named gabato overhears the offer and excitedly approaches them accepting immediately to take them gabato takes them to a spot where there is
a beautiful boat but their means of transportation is a helicopter in terrible condition the two are not enthusiastic about going but when Sean sees Kalani gabato's daughter he quickly changes his mind and they embark on the journey together however after talking to her father kailani knowing the dangers of the place raises the price and with no other choice Hank agrees later far from the coast they approach a massive storm Kalani wants to steer clear of the storm but Sean insists that the island is within the danger so Hank decides to proceed as they cross the
storm's Edge they encounter enormous hurricanes that start sucking them in seeing this Sean says that according to the book they need to let themselves be taken to the island Hank and the others changed their minds and gabato tries to escape from there but quickly realizes that the controls are broken the helicopter starts to disintegrate and they are sucked into the hurricane then thrown into the water and everyone loses consciousness later Hank wakes up Sean and they find themselves on the edge of a beach confirming what the books had said they regroup and observe their surroundings
Sean discovers an exit from the beach a dark tunnel that leads them to another side upon emerging the group sees an incredibly beautiful landscape a new and unknown world with mountains waterfalls and a volcano in the middle of the vast Island they discover that small animals become large and large ones become small in this place Sean spots smoke in the distance so they decide to go there thinking it might be his grandfather along the way they pass by several stones but Hank accidentally breaks one when he steps on it revealing that they are actually eggs
and not rocks they become frightened as they realize the owner of the eggs is nearby spotting a giant lizard up ahead the group starts walking slowly but gabato accidentally steps on a fragile egg and falls into it after rescuing gabato the lizard wakes up and spots them the group starts running into the forest to escape the creature's Fury Sean seeing kailani in danger attracts the lizard's attention and it starts chasing him the adventurer Sean narrowly escapes the lizard's jaws with his quick movements and flees with the others however they don't get far as the creature
has an excellent sense of smell and quickly surrounds them Hank wanting to protect the group tries to use what he calls the Thunder Punch on the lizard but it only serves to make it angrier just as they are about to be devoured they hear a noise large logs hit the lizard knocking it unconscious Sean soon discovers that it is his grandfather Alexander and they happily reunite Alexander takes them to a safe place his Treehouse which he built using parts of the old boat that brought into the island Hank asks about the radio that Alexander had
made but he explains that it is only useful when the satellite passes over their exact location which will happen in two weeks they become concerned on the other hand Sean is excited about the mysterious place and Alexander tells them to wait until dawn to show them more of the island the next day the group follows a trail and Sean tries to flirt with kailani but she shows no interest in him and playfully tricks him seeing this Hank approaches Sean and gives him advice on how to approach a woman he tells him to go against his
instincts and do the opposite of what they expect he also advises showing interest in her feelings and finally performing the Absurd Peck dance gabato joins in this wacky lesson but Sean finds it all nonsense Alexander takes them to see an ancient structure in the middle of the island but no one is there the group discovers that it is the lost city of Atlantis Hank questions why it should be underwater and Alexander explains that the island has a cycle of 140 years spending half that time above the surface and the other half submerged while Alexander talks
with Sean Hank analyzes a puddle of water and discovers it is salty indicating that the island has started to sink Alexander believes it will happen in 14 years according to his calculations however Hank explains that he is mistaken because of the liquefaction of the soil there and the island won't stay above water for long they have at most three days before everything sinks Sean recalls from the books that there is a hidden submarine on the island which could save them the only clue they have is to find Captain Nemo's diary as the tales mentioned that
he had made it to the island in 1870. however the passage to the cave where the diary was placed is small so Kalani volunteers to retrieve it she ventures in and finds a throne with Captain Nemo's Bones on it Kalani locates the diary and grabs it but suddenly the island begins to tremble and the cave collapses she manages to quickly Escape before everything caves in on her later they analyzed the diary and discover the location they are looking for however Alexander warns them that the adventure will expose them to dangerous and horrifying things the group
sets off for the other side of the island passing through beautiful and ominous places as they cross a stream they notice the volcano erupting causing the entire Island to shake so they must hurry Kalani notices something falling from the sky something resembling volcanic ashes but Alexander reveals that it's pure gold sean gets excited and wants to go check it out and collects him but Hank doesn't want him to do so gabato becomes disheartened because having all that gold would be amazing moments later while studying the map Hank realizes they are below where they should be
Alexander instructs them to wait and he returns with a giant bee telling them to do the same gabato is scared and asks Hank for a ride as he doesn't want to ride the bees with no other choice the group continues their journey by flying on the bees shortly after gabato was hit by bird droppings realizing it's a large bird the group Maneuvers through the trees in the forest and discovers another bird Hank comes up with a plan and lures one bird in the opposite direction causing them to collide they narrowly escape but Sean and Kalani
are almost eaten by another bird Kalani falls off the B but Sean quickly flies and saves her before she hits the ground he leaves her with the others and attracts the bird towards a spider web which works but he crashes into a branch and falls off the bee the others approach him and realize Sean has injured his ankle they proceed to a safe location as nine approaches and Alexander with Hank's assistance resets Sean's ankle then Hank sings a song that his father left for him before disappearing when he was a child which makes Alexander melancholic
while fetching water from a nearby River gabato talks to his daughter who is upset because they can't afford to pay for her college education however her father reassures her that he will find a way to provide her with a bright future at dawn the group wakes up and realizes that the water level is rising faster than expected and to make matters worse gabato is missing Kalani quickly figures out where her father went to the Golden Mountain Sean can't go with her so Alexander volunteers to accompany Kalani before parting ways Hank takes a photo of the
map and he and Sean head to Poseidon's Cliffs to find the submarine meanwhile gabato Falls near a large gold nugget on his way to the volcano leaving him overjoyed Hank and Sean reached the cliff but there is nothing in the water Hank looks around and finds a staircase leading below the cliff unfortunately the sea level has risen and what they are looking for is submerged back with gabato he digs into the ground and discovers that the Nugget is enormous and impossible to take with him his daughter arrives and asks him to stop saying they don't
need the gold because they have each other which is the greatest wealth giving up on the gold gabato returns with her to meet Sean and Hank after preparing themselves they jump into the water together moments later they find their salvation the submarine they approach it and open the hatch but danger approaches them in the form of a large electric eel that nearly attacks them however they managed to enter the submarine and activate the water drainage system to Breathe Again they head to the cockpit and successfully start the submarine but the battery power is insufficient and
the engine shut off Hank investigates and realizes the batteries are old and require a significant amount of energy to restart fortunately although not an ideal solution they have the electric eel for that purpose meanwhile Kalani her father and Alexander get lost in the middle of the forest and their Compass isn't working thankfully Alexander's knowledge of animals leads him to explain that spiders always weave their webs to the South spotting a wet nearby they discover the direction they should go back with Hank and Sean they rig a makeshift Harpoon to strike the electric eel and transfer
its energy to the batteries meanwhile the others reached the Rendezvous point but their transportation hasn't arrived yet the danger escalates as everything begins to crumble due to the increasing eruptions of the massive volcano and the Sea engulfing everything below the water's surface we see Hank wearing a diving suit as he lures the electric eel toward him the creature notices them and prepares to attack but Hank manages to strike it in the mouth transferring its electricity outside the water the others await their imminent death as the island is completely destroyed they are thrown into the sea
but luckily the submarine Guided by Sean and Hank Picks Them Up and keeps them safe however the danger is not over yet as large rocks start falling into the water and they must maneuver to avoid them the path is closing in but Hank devises a plan and puts gabato at the submarine's controls he goes to the weapons compartment retrieves a heavy missile aims it and Sean pushes the button destroying the massive Rock in their path the group escaped successfully and finds a safe spot they are relieved to be alive and Kalani thanks Sean for everything
leaning in for a kiss marking the start of their Romance they continue sailing through the beautiful Pacific Ocean six months pass and we see Kalani visiting Sean's house while her father Captain gabato calls to check on how things are going he has found success in his new Ventures using the submarine Kalani reunites with Sean's family on his birthday shortly after Alexander appears presenting them with a new surprise the movie ends with Alexander giving Sean a book signifying another Journey this time to the Moon [Music]
