For 140 years, it was the most recognizable and most avoidable sound on earth. The Saturday morning knock of the Jehovah's Witnesses. >> Good morning.
We're visiting neighbors today to share a brief message of hope. >> They told you it was the only way to survive a magiddon. And then in early 2024, they essentially admitted it's all over.
Before I continue, let me ask you a question. Are you new here or you are old? Regardless, if you have not subscribed to this channel, kindly subscribe and smash the notice bell because by doing so, you will help us continue bringing you more deep dives like this one.
I am Dr K and I'm a theologian. Today we are discussing the death of the doortodoor evangelism. In this video, I'm going to show you why the Watchtower's legendary doortodoor ministry is officially dead.
the shocking 2024 demographic cliff that the pure research says is wiping out their youth. By the end of this video, you'll see exactly why this naturalness is a desperate high stakes rebranding effort to save the falling organization. The death of the robotic witness.
Let's look at the video at 12 seconds. The organization pe to love the people make disciples brochure. Well, two years have passed since we received the brochure, Love People, Make Disciples, and it has completely changed our ministry.
What have the results shown? Well, reports are coming in from around the world that we're talking to people more. But some of us are also finding it difficult to use those same principles when we go from door to door and we knock.
The individual opens the door and now they expect us to say something. What do we do now? This isn't just a new book.
It's a white flag. For centuries, JWS were trained to be logical based debater. They being told to lead by emotions and hobbies.
Every effort that the governing body has been making to save the Watchtower sinking ship is failing. They are damned if they do. They are damned if they don't.
This is the worst experience of the Watchtower Society in 148. The speaker says, "Avoid memorized presentations. Be natural.
" >> The following video touches on some of those obstacles that our brothers are facing around the world. >> It was quite terrifying [laughter] because I relied heavily on memorizing presentations. So, the thought of undoing that [laughter] was was scary.
Um, yeah. H I felt [music] nervous because I didn't know what I was going to talk to the person about and I was always intimidated by that. >> I remember at first I panicked before we knew which scripture to read and which question to leave with them.
When we didn't have them anymore, I felt lost and disoriented for a moment. >> I've gotten to doors and been like, "All right, I'm going to love this person. " And then they're just like, "But why?
Why are you here? Like, what are you doing? " I think that's universal.
That who are you? What do you want? Get to the point.
Yeah, we call that the New York face. For 50 years, the governing board mandated memorized scripts. If you weren't robotic, you were cancelled.
Now, they are frantically trying to humanize their members. Because in the information age, a scripted sales speech is a cout red flag. The goal is no longer just placing magazines.
Why? Because nobody wants them. Magazines are a liability.
One Google search of Watchtower brings up million pages on shunning and lawsuits on child abuse. The new strategy is interactive Bible studies. Building an emotional anchor to a person so that by the time they see the red flag, you are too attached to leave.
The pure rearch bombshell, the great exodus. But here is the real reason the ministry is dying. It's not just that people aren't home anymore.
It's that the next generation of witnesses has already left. According to the pure research, the Jehovah's Witnesses have the highest turnover rate of any religion in the United States. 2/3 that is 66% of those raised in the religion walk away as adults.
The religion is a leak bucket. They aren sustaining. 65% of adult witnesses are convent.
That means they must recruit strangers just to break even. Many other Christian denominations, for example, the Catholics and many traditional Christian denominations are sustained and growing by retaining the children who were born in the denomination. But as the speaker admits, those strangers aren't answering the doorbell anymore.
The average AW is aging rapidly, less educated than the general population, and isn't being replaced. The youth in this organization are a vanishing species. The reporting scam and the November surprise.
This brings us to the biggest red flag of all. November 1, 2023. For 100 years, every witness had to report every minute of preaching.
It was their spiritual score and a spiritual barometer. When did we begin reporting field [music] service activity? Prior to 1920, only coal porters, as pioneers [music] were then called, were asked to submit reports.
But beginning in [music] 1920, everyone in the congregation who participated in the witness work was asked to turn in a weekly report. Early on, [music] congregation field service reports were thorough. Over the years, the forms used to report publishers field service activity have been simplified.
Reports have consistently [music] included back calls or return visits, Bible studies, publication placements, and [music] hours spent in the disciplem work. As was the case back then, there's always a story behind a field service report. The first time I walked into a Kingdom Hall when I was 16, I saw this chart on the stage and I realized this organization is concerned about what we do, what we say, and how much we say about Jehovah.
I realized that from the start. So that after the third month of studying when I started going out in field service, I wanted to turn my time in too. and they showed me how to do it and I've been turning it ever since.
>> Saturday, the governing body says, "No more hours, just check a box. " >> We are pleased to announce that beginning November the 1st, 2023, congregation publishers will no longer be asked to report the amount of time they spend in the ministry. will no longer be asked to report the amount [clears throat] of time they spend in the ministry.
Nor will publishers be asked to report their placements, the videos they show, or their return visits. Instead, the field service report will simply have a box that will allow each publisher to indicate that he or she shared in any form of the ministry. During the month, there will be one more box where publishers report the number of different Bible studies they conduct.
This simplified report serves a valuable purpose. It will allow us to know the number of active publishers in each land. It will also help us to know whether certain territories are producing Bible studies and where there is a greater need for pioneers, special pioneers, missionaries, and kingdom halls.
Although publishers will no longer report their time in the ministry, we all want to follow faithfully the words of Colossians chapter 3:es 23 and 24. >> Was this messy? No, it was data abificication.
The Watchtower is effectively vandalizing its own database so that they do not admit to the public that total hours are plummeting. It's a corporate shell game. They're still reporting 9 million publishers because checking the box takes a second.
Even if that person didn't actually knock on a single door, it's about managing burnout. They are trying to stop the quiet quitting of 66% who have already left. Legal survival, beers, slacks, and shunning.
Finally, we have to talk about the why that they wouldn't mention in the kingdom hall. The Norway verdict. In 2024, Norway stripped the watchtowwer of their registration and millions in subsidies because of the harmful shunning of their children.
Suddenly, the governing body releases updates. Men can have beards, women can wear slacks. They even allow a simple greeting to a dysfellowshipped individual at a meeting.
Recently, we've had updates about dress and grooming. We've talked about beards for brothers, slacks for sisters, and the use of jackets and ties for brothers. We're thankful that Jehovah trusts us in these matters.
But some questions come up. Uh first of all, do these adjustments about dress and grooming mean that we are lowering our standards? Not at all.
Our worship of Jehovah deserves our deep respect and honor. These adjustments should not dilute the depth of our appreciation for serving Jehovah. More so, it's a recognition that styles change over time and that what's considered acceptable, dignified dress for certain occasions also changes over time.
For example, do you remember these images from the 2023 governing body update number eight? We wouldn't expect that we would still dress as people did in Bible times. Nor would we expect that we would still dress the same as people did 100 years ago.
Times change. What's considered respectable and dignified dress and grooming changes over time. This isn't new life.
This is a legal defense. By looking more mainstream and less extreme, they are trying to protect their tax exempt status in Japan, the UK, and the USA. In keeping with the scriptural admonition at 1 Corinthians 5:11, when a person has been removed from the congregation, we stop keeping company with that person, not even eating with such a man.
That means we don't socialize with those who are removed from the congregation. However, what if a dysfellowship person comes to a congregation meeting? Under our current arrangement, we don't say a greeting to individuals who've been removed from the congregation.
However, the governing body has decided that publishers can use their Bible [music] trained conscience to decide whether to give a simple greeting and welcome a dysfellowshipped individual who attends a [music] congregation meeting. >> Hi, so good to see you [music] here. >> Thank you.
While we wouldn't have an extended conversation or socialize with such a person, we do not need to ignore him completely. This push for naturalness is part of that brand makeover. They are trading their strict identity for survival cash.
The conclusion, the hollow house. The video you saw today is a portrait of an organization in retreat. The chariot isn't moving forward but backward.
It is cycling the wagons. The knock is dead because the world has moved on and the youth have woken up. If 66% of your children leave, your neighbor won't open the door.
You don't have a global work. You have a hollow house. If you're a witness watching this, you have failed the burnout.
realizing that the naturalness that they're asking for is something they spent decades trying to crash out of you. My promise was to show you that the doortodoor ministry is dead. The evidence is in their videos, their own statistics, and the empty seats in their kingdom halls.
