Tuesday's lesson and we continue the Bible study that we started yesterday regarding this topic. The state of man in death. It is fine?
You continue reading your lesson, okay? Because there is already content here and what I'm talking about is more content for you. Open your Bible to 1 Corinthians chapter 15, starting from verse 51, which says: Behold, I tell you a mystery, we will not all sleep, but we will all be transformed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.
When the last trumpet sounds, the trumpet will sound. The dead will rise incorruptible and we will be transformed. What is being said here will happen at the time of Jesus' return.
So what are you talking about? You're saying: Did the person die? Okay, she died.
And then what I said yesterday happens, the dust returns to the earth, the breath of life returns to God. The soul simply does not exist. And then it ended?
For us Christians, we have hope. That person who dies in Christ, at the moment Jesus comes in the clouds of heaven, that person. she will be resurrected.
But how is she going to be resurrected? She will be resurrected incorruptible, different. She will be resurrected without the cancer that led to her death.
She will be resurrected, not now completely shattered because of that accident. She is now resurrected in a perfect way. Come with me to another extremely beautiful text too, which is 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 13, which says: We do not want you, brothers, to be ignorant regarding those who sleep.
Look at the expression here that is being used in the Bible. Sleep because I think that tomorrow or the next day I'll talk a little about this based on João's story that we're studying. Jesus resurrecting Lazarus.
So here again in Thessalonians, it is talking about death as sleep. So that you do not become sad like others who have no hope. And then, verse 16: Because the Lord himself has given his command, when he hears the voice of the archangel sounded, the trumpet of God will descend from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise again.
So it's a, it's a biblical and unfortunately forgotten concept. It is a biblical concept, unfortunately understood in a completely wrong way by most religions, including the majority that say that the person dies. There 's one who says he's going to hell, there's another who says he's going to heaven, there's another who says he's going to be reincarnated.
There are several other explanations. Only when we look at the Bible, we are saying the following: Hey, a person died, it's over, he's sleeping. Does she have any chance now to have a new life?
He has. Did she accept Jesus? So what does that mean, what does it mean to say that when Jesus returns in the clouds of heaven, what will this person be?
She will be resurrected. So, with that I would summarize life as follows . We have one life to make the decision.
If I want to accept Jesus, if I don't want to accept Jesus. If I accept Jesus, it means that even if I die, I will still live. Now, if in life I don't accept Jesus, that means I don't have another opportunity.
I'm not going to reincarnate myself to become an increasingly better person. That doesn't exist. I will not now have the opportunity to go to hell and pay for my sins and suddenly go to heaven.
That doesn't exist! In life, it is a moment when I need to make my decision. And you, have you already made the decision for Jesus?
If so, may God bless us so that we can live together for eternity, even if we die on this earth, at some point we will live eternity with Jesus. See you tomorrow.
