hi eagle eyes mail spleen yeah the best part of three weeks since I've actually driven a mcfife and normally it would mean that the batteries are going awfully flat in an old car like mx-5 and a to use office battery charge while it's sitting there unused for three three to four weeks but what I've done I've installed this a trickle charger from each egg and it's been an awesome little investment and so I just wanted to show it to you and if any of you are running a project car that sits around in the garage
a fair bit like mine does I certainly recommend getting a little trickle charger installed it saves you the grief of having to come out and turn the car on all the time and it also you just know that when you're going to turn the key is going to have a hundred percent charge and ready to go so this is a little C Tech triple charger that I've had installed onto my car as you can see it just plugs into the mains I've got it running through a power lead across to a power point so when
I bring the car in and if it's going to be sitting here for an extended period of time well I literally just put the C tech on here and in the mem is five your batteries are in the boot of the car so you can see the cable runs through over the back of the boot lid and excuse all my camera gear and it goes and hooks up to a little connection that's been installed on the top of our battery bank in the mx-5 s boot so as as simple as when you want to go
for a drive grabbing hold of the connection and disconnecting nice and simple this is the connection for the trickle charger that's connected directly to the battery on the car and as as simple as that let's reduce connecting and removing this from the car now just while I've got it in my hands I hold it up against the wall so we can have a good and you see they obviously where the life is here that's to say dit and set up to charge a car battery you do motorcycle battery and also if you're in below-freezing zones
you set it up onto this one now all these numbers across here relate to different levels of charge if your charge is very low you down you one and two and three during these periods the charge actually is is running very strongly to charge the batteries up and then as it gets higher up in two three four in particular three and four then the amount that the charger is charging into the battery reduces at a slower rate so then you're not over charging the battery at a high rate and then once you get up to
four and five the battery charge is almost full and then all the charger does is every now and then just throws a little burst of energy in just to make sure that the battery is completely topped up so when I disconnected just now it was on five so it was literally ready to go fully charged and I'm going to take my little car for a quick spin today only a very very short one it's been three weeks but I wanted to get out into the sunshine and and yeah I know that the batteries fully charged
