did you know that homelessness is a significant issue in Canada according to recent statistics there are around 35,000 people experiencing homelessness On Any Given night poverty is one of the most significant root causes of homelessness stagnant wages unemployment and high housing and healthare cost all play poverty being unable to afford Essentials like housing food education and more greatly increases a persons or families risk whether it's a complex problem there are organizations and and initiatives working to provide support and find Solutions it's important to raise awareness and lend a helping hand whenever we can that's why

we choose to do this project help the people around us help the ones that are in need help the ones that are less opportunity give others what we think it's nothing as we are used to this for example a hot chocolate or a hot soup I'm extremely grateful to have all my needs and not to have to beg in the cold for the bare Min hey guys so today we're going to go buy hot drinks and we're going to give it to the homeless people so come with us I have my broccoli soup and I

have my hot broccoli soup hot chocolate and chili so I got a large hot [Music] chocolate have a nice day have a nice day Merry [Music] Christmas hello thank you have a good day have a 19 that project seems a lot to me because every time I go to Ottawa I sell lot of less people while we were doing the project I was feeling sad but also I was feeling really good about myself because I was doing a good action for someone that really needs it I'm happy to say that today I fed someone and

that they're going to be okay for the rest of the day some people choose to be in that situation and some of them don't and we have to be respectful for them who didn't choose to be here we never know what that situation can happen to us or someone we know we never know what happened in the future so we have to appreciate every little moment we have um at home and where while we eat thank you like you saw on the video we decided to give homeless people hot food we decided to choose this

as a good action for the paid forward project because they probably won't have the chance to have a proper meal on a regular day while we were giving food to the homeless people I was feeling sad because some of them don't choose to be in that situation I was also telling myself that that's probably the only hot meal they're going to have today or in a long time they were really nice and kind they were wishing us a Merry Christmas and to have a beautiful day the day we decided to film the video it was

really cold outside so we thought that giving them like hot food like soup or hot chocolate would be perfect for that type of weather they seem to really appreciate the good action and they were really surprised to see little girls like us give give them a meal I really wish them to have a merry Christmas and I hope that in the future they're going to be okay for me giving out means a lot I just love the fact that we did a project to help people and make their day brighter I think it was a

good idea from our English teacher to do an act of kindness I felt good uh that I helped people in need this project this project makes you realize that you need to appreciate all the small things that you have and not take them for granted yeah um okay a small act can go along long way you can go a long way and to put a smile on people's face and that's all that matters that was the point of the project after all you really don't you really don't know how bad homelessness is in in our

generation in in our generation until you really see it from your own eyes um for the ones that have everything they should give out a little more to make our world a better place so I think this project was something important to do and very important for me because I like helping people and I think during Christmas time it's the best time to help the ones in need and because Christmas is a holiday to spend and to give out to the ones you love and Friends homeless people don't have the chance to spend Christmas like

we do so it was very important for me to give out to them and I think the project that we did was a simple way to help people in need and to bring a little bit of joy in their day or their week I was very happy after this project because the fact that we help people and put a smile on their face made me very joyful and I realized that we need to be more grateful for what we have we also have operation come home the otwa mission belongs otwa at Sanic table and a

lot more so if you guys ever want to give to one of the association you can go on the website and give money or you can also like send clothes uh the other things that you don't want to that's it here in Canada we have the tend to have associations that can help homelessness they can provide food clothes games and sometimes somewhere to sleep we have the alliance to to end homelessness at Ottawa in Ottawa the housing first the ab original housing management association and that includes homeless homeless shelters I hope this video made you

realize how bad homelessness is in Canada and that you have to appreciate every little things you have like food water clothes a house and even your family so that was it for our paid forward project and I hope you guys liked it and I hope that from now on everybody's going to be kind to homeless people and I think it's very important to help them so if you guys ever want to help them even just a dollar can help so thank you so much thank you for watching
