hi Anna I'm really excited about today's lesson we'll learn new vocabulary and you'll hear a different story by the end of the class you'll understand the story much better and these phrases will help you in Daily conversations ready to get started absolutely I love learning new words and I enjoy stories because they help me understand how words are used sometimes I get the general idea but not all the details so I'm excited to improve that's great don't worry if you don't understand everything right away I'll tell you the story first and then we'll review important
phrases after that I'll tell you the story again and I'm sure it will be much clearer let's dive in I'm ready let's go once upon a time there was a girl named Emily She Was preparing for a big test and had a lot on her plate school work and personal responsibilities the night before the test her friend Tom called her and invited her to hang out and watch a movie Emily really wanted to hang out but she knew she needed to study after some hesitation she said yes Emily went to the movie and by the
time she got home it was too late to study she felt a bit guilty but she thought I'll be fine I studied a lot last week however the next day when she sat down to take the test she realized she had forgotten a lot of important information she felt nervous and knew she hadn't made the right decision after the test Emily told Tom what had happened and he said you should have just said no Emily agreed and felt like she was running out of steam she'd been juggling too much and learned a valuable lesson sometimes
you have to say no to things even if you really want to do them to focus on what's important Tom understood and said don't sweat it Emily you've got a lot on your plate and you need to take care of yourself first so Anna what do you think did you understand most of the story I think I got the main idea Emily had a lot going on and she decided to hang out with Tom instead of studying which caused her to struggle on her test but there were a few phrases I'm not so sure about
