do you ever watch something so impossible so utterly amazing that you genuinely find it hard to believe what you just witnessed I've had the opportunity to watch many great athletes achieve some of the craziest things in athletics history noiles and Keane Thompson's 100 meter clash in Paris a historic moment that went all the way down to the thousandth of a second that was pretty crazy I witnessed Cole Hawker last year pull off one of the biggest upsets in Middle distance history with a gold medal in the 1500 M that was a wild moment I also just recently made a video on Ryan krower when he literally had one of the biggest power moments in sporting history and he did it after being diagnosed with two blood clots in his left leg the man's a legend the point is we regularly have front row seats to Super Elite level greatness as track fans these moments Mark the arrival of some of the greatest moments in sporting history and then there's this kid a 17-year-old from the United States Quincy Wilson a four 100 m specialist who might only be a junior in high school at the moment but despite his age and overall Global inexperience he is doing something that I honestly can't believe I'm witnessing and it's marking Quincy as quite possibly the greatest teenage talent that we have ever [Music] seen today's video is sponsored by DrftKings sports book Super Bowl 59 is finally here and my partners at DrftKings are here to make the big game even greater now is the perfect time to get in on the action as DrftKings are giving all new customers $200 in bonus bets instantly after wagering just $5 you heard that right an extra $200 bonus bet for just a $5 wager make sure to stay in on the action and use your $200 in bonus bets on draft gang same game parlays for a shot at an even bigger payout combine multiple bets together from the same game and you could be looking at an amazing Super Bowl 59 if sports betting is not yet available in your state don't worry you can still join in on the action with DrftKings daily fantasy and have a shot to win cash prizes here as well download the draftking Sportsbook app right now and use the promo code trp for an additional $200 in bonus bets replacing any $5 wager that's promo code trp only a draftking sports book in the 2024 season seon the 16-year-old Quincy Wilson made a huge arrival in the sport of sprinting he broke the age group world record in the 400 m he broke it again in the 500 M and then he broke it again in the 600 M every time this youngster touched the track he transformed his stage into a record-breaking platform and this especially applied to the Olympic trials where he managed to break the world youth record in the 400 m twice and then he somehow placed sixth in the finals which of course put him as an alternate on the men's 4x400 met relay in the actual Olympic Games if qualifying into the Olympics as a sophomore in high school wasn't already enough Wilson also set one of the craziest world records at the 2024 hallay Pro classic in the 400 m again where he managed to take down Bryce deadmond a literal Olympic gold medalist in the 4x400 with a new 400 personal best of 44. 2 seconds a nearly unheard of type of clocking for the one laap distance as a 16-year-old 44. 2 career best in a new world u8 best for the man from Bullis School in Maryland to put it simply Quincy Wilson threw down in 2024 and he really did reach International Acclaim in sprinting but what he just achieved in 2025 might be even more of a shock to kick off this 202 5 season Wilson ran in the 500 M for a season opener and many thought that his own National Record in this distance was set to go down but to the surprise of many he actually lost to a fellow high schooler as Andrew he would struggle to recapture the speed that he ran in the year previous but I'm here to tell you that this is not the case because in this year's 2025 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix Wilson was set to race against a very very qualified field in fact this professional field even included jereem Richards an athlete that placed fourth in last year's Olympic Games with a personal best of 43.
7 a time that makes him one of only 25 athletes to ever break 44 seconds in the 400 and if this wasn't already enough of an intimidation Factor Richards was also the literal indoor world champion in the 400 meters back in 2022 and based on his recent running he has only gotten faster with Wilson lining up against these professionals which included Richard zakii n and a previous NCAA Champion will Sumer it seemed as though Wilson would struggle to compete against this field except he didn't because after going through 200 M and 21. 2 Wilson was right behind the two lead Runners and then against all logic Wilson swung wide with 100 m left and down right buried both jereem Richards and zakii N with the 400 met strength of a seasoned Olympic champion this 17-year-old Wilson threw down a time of 45. 6 6 seconds a time that was fast enough to break his own world youth record yet a again this man cannot be stopped despite having a very difficult previous race Wilson came back to the professional scene and took a pretty massive W also can we just appreciate will summer in second this man came from the depths of nowhere to come back and finish in second place this man is dangerous but for Wilson his reign as the greatest 16-year-old in 400 meter history is clearly going to continue into his 17th year because last season where he ran his previous World youth record he had no real competition which makes a huge difference for the indoor 400 as he had a clear path and no one to run around but even with way more complicated racing tactics and the need to swing wide over the final 100 Wilson still ran faster now Wilson's abilities to compete with the best in the world in the 400 m seems to only be reaching higher and higher levels and some are even calling for a potential medal in this year's championship racing season but what might be the single most amazing part of Wilson's story up to this point is that his running is still reaching far beyond his age right now Wilson's running is so incredibly quick for his age brackets that he holds a total of nine separate World Records across the board and for his outdoor 400 met PB of 44.
2 that he ran when he was only 16 that's actually so fast that it ranks it's the fastest time ever run for a 16-year-old and it even outranks any other performances by a 17-year-old or any 18-year-old in fact even in the u20 division all athletes under the age of 20 only one runner in history has ever run faster than Wilson's 44. 2 and this athlete was Steve Lewis from the 1988 Olympics where he incredibly won the gold medal at just 19 in the so games with a finishing time of already qualified for the world's biggest stage multiple times and they probably have won at least some kind of National Record at this point but when looking at the overall rankings of his personal records we also see something pretty crazy just a few weeks ago we saw the athlete gout gout achieve a time of 20.
