if you've wanted to know what my strategy is when it comes to Instagram this is me exposing what my Instagram strategy is for my own Instagram account this year we're talking my thought process behind how often to post which videos to create how my team fits into all of this and so on as always time stamps are below use them if you need them let's jump in obviously before setting any sort of plan or strategy you have to set your intentions and end goal so before making a plan I had to ask myself what is
my goal for Instagram this year and how do I want to use Instagram within my business I'm somebody that has an onag off again relationship with Instagram last year I took a seven-month break from the app for my own mental health and it was honestly one of the best things I ever did if you want to know more about that journey and what that looked like you could watch this video here but coming back to Instagram after that 7mth break I knew that I didn't want Instagram to be my main focus my main driver for
my business I simply just wanted to use it to help support support the business and systems that I already had running so as of right now my two main goals with Instagram are one use it to maintain my social media presence in a way that doesn't burn me out and two use Instagram in a way that leads a steady stream of traffic to my website and products now before I break down what this looks like and my goals in the comments below I'm curious what your goals are with Instagram because everybody has different goals and
it's exciting for me to know what you are currently working on or working towards so that I can craft future videos to help you with those goals so let me know down in the comments let's keep going now notice for me personally I did not say my goal is to grow on Instagram or hit x amount of followers growing on Instagram is not a bad goal to have however for me I know what it takes to actively try to grow an account and it's a lot of pumping out reals and as of right now in
this season of life I just don't have the capacity to show up in that way and that's okay so my strategy is not a growth I want to go viral strategy let's talk about that first goal again maintain my social media presence in a way that doesn't burn me out how does one accomplish this what does that look like finding a balance between frequency how often I post and the type of content that I post when it comes to frequency when I initially came back from my Instagram break I was posting every day Monday through
Friday cuz that's just what I did before so five reals a week but over these past few months of doing that my team and I quickly found out that that is still too much for me so here's our current schedule that has been working really great for me right now we focus on posting three times a week Monday Wednesday Friday two of these posts are reals while the other is a carousel so two reels a week one Carousel a week occasionally if it makes sense if we're able to we'll throw in like a trending meme
a real meme something like this this or this this is something we've recently started testing just to see if it works well for me my account what sort of audience or traffic it brings in so we're just in test mode for that this is the schedule that we chose because it's the schedule that allows me to be the most hands off when it comes to Instagram so that I could focus on other things like my YouTube videos course videos and working more closely with my course students like like I said before when I was returning
back to Instagram I knew that I didn't want it to take over my life I didn't want it to be my main focus I wanted it to just kind of be a supporting block for the rest of what I enjoy doing with the reals something that we found worked really well is one reel will likely be a talking to the camera reel these are usually like simple talking head style reels and then the other real is more b-roll reel where like I don't have to film myself talking I don't have to prep script outline anything
it's just like a random clip or video that I filmed from that week that I sent to my editor they'll put text over it turned into a video then when it comes to the Carousel and meme real both of those are created by my social media manager so I really don't have to be too handson with that other than approving the content approving the posts so while we're posting three four times a week I really only have to film one new video every week the talking head stuff because b-roll can be batched once a month
if I I need to this is simply something that works for me talking head videos I prefer them to be like Evergreen format where it does not rely on Trends trending audio because then I can bat create those ahead of time or maybe film three videos in one day that way I don't have to do much more filming in 3 weeks for reals I personally I prefer long firm content I love making YouTube videos I love sitting here yapping my mouth off but for some reason I have more resistance when it comes to short form
and when it comes to like oh I need you to film this real I'm like GH I hate short form so like it's harder for me to find joy in the short form content so that's why the less amount of videos I could film for it the better I love YouTube I want YouTube to be my focus but I still want to maintain my presence on other platforms if batching content or coming up with Evergreen ideas so you could like batch content a month ahead of time is something that sounds really exciting to you I
do want you to know for those of you who didn't know I do have a free Workshop it's the 4mon content strategy Workshop it'll help you plan out four months of content ahead of time so if having four months of content planned and outlined sounds like a win definitely check it out the workshop comes with an interactive workbook and guide so that literally by the end of our hour together you can fill everything out and leave with four months of content actually planned so I'll be sure to leave the link down to that Workshop below
outside of content creation like filming the content outlining a carousel approving captions things like that outside of my involvement with content creation my team pretty much handles the rest I have a video editor that edits my reals I have somebody that posts my content for me so I'm not actually the one posting live I have somebody that replies to comments for me DMS so all engagement is typically from my team when it comes to like replying to comments I've received on videos when it comes to commenting on other people's content I will be the one
to comment on other people's content my team doesn't do that but they reply to comments I receive on my posts now I know so far this might not be the most relatable strategy because most people don't have a team to help them I know that this video is not me telling you what you should do or what I recommend doing no this is simply sharing with you what my team and I are doing based off of my specific goals and capacity right now currently in my life I am scripting and filming five or more long
form videos like YouTube videos course videos every single week that takes a lot of time and mental focus so I need people to really lead the charge with Instagram for me right now it is not always like this I don't always create that much long firm content there's just been something I've been working on for almost 9 months now so that's why I need to be as hands off as possible when it comes to Instagram if you're specifically interested in figuring out what your Instagram strategy should be be sure to subscribe and turn on the
Bell notifications because next week I'll be breaking down what I would do if I had to start from zero on Instagram what current strategies should somebody do if they're trying to grow an account as quickly as possible so that'll be next week's video the second goal that we're going to talk about that I have for Instagram is to use it in a way that leads a steady stream of traffic to my website and products while I don't have goals for growth right now I do want to try my best to keep a steady stream of
traffic going towards my website and products I mean this is my full-time job so with at least one post per week I want to make sure that there are call to actions in my content leading viewers over to free resources courses or digital products for instance if I create a real and it's teaching people about hooks how to grab your audience's attention maybe at the end I'll say comment hooks 100 to get access to 100 reals hooks sent to you in your DMs right that's the called action then when somebody comments that phrase on that
video hooks 100 they'll get an autom dm with a link to my $1 product 100 reals prompts my 100 reals prompts is probably one of my most popular digital products so it's definitely one that I like to lead people to people love hooks people love done for you prompts and it's a list of over a hundred different prompts that somebody could use at the beginning of their video so that's basically 100 video ideas in one PDF so if you're interested in checking it out I'll leave it in the description below so that's one way I
can lead people to a popular product of mine or or if a video is talking about how much money I made on YouTube as a YouTuber and I encourage other people to start a YouTube channel maybe I'll lead them to take my 20 minute webinar teaching what you need to start your own YouTube channel helping them get set up start with the basics all of these sorts of call to actions where I'm like comment this phrase comment this we have this system set up through DM automation I'm sure you've probably seen this play out I'm
sure you've heard of DM automation where if somebody comments a specific word phrase on your post or in a reply to your story they'll be automatically sent a DM that you've already like pre-programmed pre-written out this is something initially I was very hesitant to use because I was like is this spammy is it sketchy is it going to ruin or hurt my Instagram engagement but I've been doing this I believe since 2022 that's when I first started with DM automations and playing with it and I love it I've seen amazing results basically what my team
and I did was with every popular offer that I have we set up a DM automation or a funnel for people to go through on Instagram this is something that has helped increase traffic yes to my website but also it's helped increase sales because the DM automation does the hard work for us for my biggest offers we have a pinned post at the top of my Instagram account with a DM automation turned on so that that pinned post is always getting traffic I believe it's best course for Content creators and that's for my biggest offer
the bsp model and then we have a DM automation setup so that anytime somebody comments I think bsp they'll be sent a link with more information about the bsp model so we use DM aimation as strategically as possible and we also try not to overuse it so that like all my posts don't seem salesy we try to include at least one post per week that leads people to any sort of resource of M whether free or paid if you're somebody who is selling any sort of digital product or you have freebies definitely definitely recommend DM
automation it's super easy to use especially if you're selling a digital product and you have like your stand store set up you can set up DM automation also through stand so you don't have to like pay for a separate DM automation tool Stan lets you do everything in one place no this video is not sponsored by them but if you do want to see a full breakdown step-by-step tutorial for how to set up DM automations I'll answer some of those burning questions of will DM automations hurt my account all the things if you want to
see that video be sure to watch this video next and I will see you at in the next one follow your joy bye
