love death and robots season 3 in vaulted halls entombed ending explained the penultimate episode of volume 3. with this semi-realistic art style it bore a similar resemblance to the style of bad travelling with the episode focusing on a group of soldiers retrieving a hostage but encountering something they didn't expect what did it all mean well let's get into it here is love death and robots season 3 and vaulted hall is entombed ending explained just to let you know this video will contain spoilers we spent the majority of this episode following the sergeant and harper as
they went to retrieve a hostage as part of their mission however the moment that they encountered the cave mythical creatures and beings started showing themselves we had these cyborg type spiders that were slowly taking out the group one by one in the most gruesome of ways whilst also holding the ability to send a shiver down your spine with the sound of them crawling towards you once we saw the sergeant and harper not have any chance of finding the hostage in the initial cave that they were in we saw the pair stumble upon a grand opening
where both of them were being called to you could see just how mesmerized they were by the look on their faces and the sheer glow in their eyes as they walked towards the opening we then saw what the episode was truly about a cross between reality and the mythical world tied up in chains and being held down was the mythical creature cthulhu the hostage that they were going after was not the one that they stumbled across here they stumbled across something far more dangerous cthulhu is one of lovecraft's creatures and it holds the ability to
drive anybody that stares long enough into its eyes insane and under its hold we saw this happen to the sergeant as he was going to go and release the monster before harper had to intervene the flashbacks that we were seeing inside harper's head were highlighting the potential hold it was having on her and the devastation and destruction that the monster has caused can cause and will go on to cause if it does get released once the sergeant was taken out we saw harper fight with all of her might to try and stop cthulhu taking a
hold of her mind but there was simply nothing she could do with the weapons that she had earlier on in the episode she even claimed that she would save one round for herself but she used all of them in the moment of blind panic and rage as she slowly calmed down and the firing stopped it symbolized that cthulhu was gaining control of harper and she was almost under his cast with that the episode then faded to black and we were led to believe that cthulhu was released and she was driven to the point of insanity
however the episode then reemerged from darkness and we saw her walking off holding a knife and it appeared as though she'd cut her own eyes out and ears off she did this for two reasons one she no longer had any rounds left for herself as she intended on saving earlier leaving her with just a knife the only way she was able to stop cthulhu from taking over her mind and releasing the creature into the world causing complete destruction and devastation was by stopping herself from being able to look directly into its eyes the only way
to do so was to gouge them out and make it physically impossible to look at it in the eyes it was a haunting moment for certain it almost holds a similar message to what bad travelling did small sacrifice on an individual level for the greater good of humanity as she was walking off she was speaking in an alien language which does lead you to think that maybe she was taken over but i think that could be down to the fact that cthulhu was on the verge of having a hold on her at one point and
did enter her mind plus we did see her experience the visions which could have left some long-lasting thoughts in her mind this episode was a great one that merged the lines between reality and mythical beings and it left me with a long-lasting haunting image in my mind of cthulhu and harper with no eyes and the sacrifice that she made what did you think of this episode leave a comment down below and don't forget to subscribe i'll see you next time [Music] you
