[Peter] For a lot of people, the Infinity Stones are still the most powerful objects in the MCU. This is about to change in the movies and in the comics so, it goes without saying, there are several objects, stones, weapons, in short, a lot of things that could defeat Thanos' Stones in a direct battle. Guns against guns, even!
Today we will meet some of these objects! Let's go! Hey Nerd, what's up?
Peter here! Guys, in the Marvel movies, until now, we've had a lot of focus on the six Infinity Stones, because of the whole saga of Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, and this story is also very important in the comics, of course. Incidentally, the film was totally inspired by the comic book saga.
Totally not, partially but there are many direct references to this saga, it is great in the comics. It turns out that time is passing, both in the movies and in the comics, and there are other objects, other artifacts, that are more powerful than the gauntlet and the Stones. But remembering, the objects that I will present to you now here are not necessarily superior to the Infinity Stones, but they would be able to beat a holder of the Infinity Stones, in the same way that a holder of the Infinity Stones would also be able to beat a holder of some such artifact.
I'm just wanting to point out to you now that in this list, the artifacts I'm going to present are immeasurably powerful and one of them is even more powerful than the infinity stones. Let's go. [Crimson Gem of Cyttorak] Cyttorak is an entity from another dimension, sometimes seen as a god, sometimes as a demon, but for some reason, he has a very strong connection with this reality.
This link comes in the form of relics related to him, all very powerful, which empower heroes and villains alike. The most powerful of these relics is certainly the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, which is a single stone, which gives the power of the Juggernaut, who became a kind of representative of Cytorakk on Earth, and also helps Doctor Strange in some moments, by the way, Doctor Strange has other Cyttorak relics as well, but this is the main one. And it gets even better: it's not just a crystal that gives absurd magical powers, this crystal also works as a prison, inside it is the so-called Scarlet Cosmos, where Cyttorak himself, in person, was once imprisoned.
What are the Infinity Gems next to Cyttorak's power? Imagine what it must be like to have a weapon that detects your opponent's weakness and turns it into something that can destroy that weakness, exploit that weakness in some way. Because that's exactly what the Tactigon is, which is a weapon of alien origin that ended up on Earth kind of by chance.
Tactigon would definitely beat the Infinity Stones because even Thanos, with the Gauntlet all set up and everything, even Thanos has a weakness, something that can be exploited. Against the Tactigon, he wouldn't have a chance, even with the Gems, because this weapon was made to be relentless against that opponent's weakness, whatever it may be. Everything and everyone has a weakness.
It is a piece of equipment that connects to the user's arm and from there, it's just a matter of using it, without much mystery. In the comics, Tony Stark kept the Tactigon extremely securely, so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands. [Ultimate Nullifier] I think everyone agrees that Galactus is one of the toughest Marvel villains, a literally gigantic threat, and defeating him is always a very difficult job.
I even tell you, Thanos is usually a punching bag for Galactus in comics. Galactus always beats that purple Thanos ass, always. Now imagine a weapon that puts fear even in Galactus!
This weapon exists and is called the Ultimate Nullifier, and it is a small object, apparently it doesn't do any harm, but it is only apparently. She can just wipe anything out of existence, including the person using the weapon, if the guy isn't very focused, doesn't really know what he's doing. This weapon was in Galactus' power, precisely, and was stolen from him by the Fantastic Four, who used the Ultimate Nullifier to send Galactus away from Earth, threatening to use the Nullifier on him.
And if you still don't quite believe in the power of this weapon, you just need to know that Galactus packed up and left. With the Infinity Stones, that certainly wouldn't happen. [Cosmic Cubes] Before Thanos started chasing the Infinity Stones madly, his business was to gather as many cosmic cubes as possible, which are some of the most powerful objects in the universe and allow you to do practically anything, just like the Stones.
The thing is that cubes have a small advantage, which is quantity, so the more cubes you have, the better, the more powerful you are. This escalated to an absurd level especially after Magus, that evil version of Adam Warlock, started bringing cosmic cubes from other realities, to gather a huge amount of them. In addition, the Infinity Gems do not work outside the reality where they were created, while the cubes do not have this limitation, that is, they are better.
[Necrosword] The Infinity Gems have a cap, however high it is, while some objects don't seem to work with that cap concept. This is the case of the Necrosword, an extremely ancient weapon, which was first used by Gorr, the Butcher of the Gods, precisely to kill deities of various pantheons, but the origin of the sword is much older. It was created and used by Knull, a god of darkness prior to the Marvel universe, who is also known to be the god of symbiotes, he created the symbiotes, as well as the Necrosword, from darkness itself.
The sword itself functions as a symbiote, and seems to grow stronger each time it is used. For you to have an idea, Knull has already used the Necrosword to decapitate, cut off the head of a Celestial, and this severed head still exists, it is Knowhere, the base of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Seriously, the Infinity Stones couldn't decapitate one of the Celestials, could they?
The Darkhold is such an old book that no one knows exactly how it was created. What is known is that it is a compilation of spells and black magic written directly by a dark god called Chthon. The book itself already emanates an absurd energy and it is feared by any magician in the Marvel universe, since the amount of black magic there is really absurd, and certainly more than enough to defeat the Infinity Stones in a direct combat.
We had a little bit of the Darkhold concept already in the MCU in the WandaVision series and also in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. [Heart of the Universe] We've talked about various objects, the history of each of them and what they are capable of, compared to the Infinity Stones. The problem here is that nobody knows anything about the Heart of the Universe.
Apparently, the power is limitless and the possibilities are limitless, that's it. It would be a kind of Jewel located in the center of reality, which would have this power of simply absurd proportions, even by Marvel standards. Thanos also used the Heart of the Universe and apparently it was destroyed after that, but next to him, the Infinity Stones are nothing.
