hey guys we're going to finally get to laying the cards out and we're going to jump right in to my very favorite spread right off the bat the calendar spread this is the greatest spread in the world it gives you dates and time for your client regarding their questions and I have a number of repeat clients because they found the dates are so accurate so here's my fifty-two card deck of course and as the deck sits here just very unassumingly on the table it's already in calendar form we don't have to do anything and people
love this they love seeing how the playing cards they grew up with work as a calendar it's very entertaining to people and the way we use the deck in this spread is the top card becomes the present time and the bottom card becomes one year from the present time and I'll tell you why the top card is the card that's closest to you it's the card that you can touch and feel it's just like the present moment right it's the closest to us of all the cards and each card that follows is the passing of
another seven days right each of the 52 cards represents one of the 52 weeks of the year so I'm moving further ahead in time as I go down in my deck until finally I reach 52 weeks or one year from the present time so I'm working in one year chunks of time as I play with this spread so that's the working premise that these two variations I'm going to show you our based on now one thing I want you to pay attention to as I'm turning cards and showing you this layout is the way that
I take cards off the deck I always turn them side to side like so like a book page you see that it's very different than flipping flipping is for games in my opinion turning a page is like turning a page in a storybook and the deck is a book of stories only the pages are unbound so the stories are free to change and isn't that a nice way to think of and use your cards so the first variation we're going to go into is what I call the present spread and this is for clients who
have a very immediate concern right something's happening right now and we want to take a look at right now so I know that my deck is already in calendar form and that makes it super easy to look at right now so after the client shuffles the cards right based on the technique we already talked about in a previous video and they stopped just have them set their deck right down on the table and voila you have your calendar ready to go and you can turn the top card to see right now I like to turn
the following three cards as well because this gives me more to work with it puts this top card into a context and it shows me the next 28 days of time so I can say okay here's what's happening now and for the next month people like that and I'm working within the natural calendar here 28 day cycles lunar cycles so for instance right now as I'm doing this video it's a full moon and this layout takes me up through the next full moon pretty simple and we'll talk about in a future video maybe the next
video will talk about what each of these card positions means and how to interpret them in relationship to each other okay that's the present spread easy did you get that I don't need to demonstrate that again so here's the other variation this is called the cat spread and it gets its name from you know when you are maybe driving or walking along and a black cat crosses your path it's very auspicious it's like marking a moment in time and that's what we do in this spread we mark a moment in time so client has shuffled
deck goes on the table just like before here's where we diverge I I typically at this point like to have the client take a moment and refocus on their question right I'm calibrating that compass point and then I have them cut the deck once just like so so easy then I reach over and turn the card that's exposed by the cut then I amend the deck so it's exactly as it was before the cut but now I have a card turned within it a calendar page is marked okay now to lay the cards out and
find out what date is auspicious for my client I simply lay cards out in piles of four notice I'm not looking at these cards they're just marking time okay until I get to my turned card BAM and then I continue by turning the next three cards so I have the same layout as in the present spread okay now I want to find out what date is important for my client in regard to their question and again today is I'm making this video the date is July 29th so this pile this first pile I laid out
we know is the present time and because there are four cards here this takes me all the way from right now up through the next month so I like to round things off I'm really big into that and so this pile takes me from now up until the end of August right because right now it's the end of July this pile takes me up to the end of September October and then one more card so I'm going to round things off again for the client and say right around Halloween is the time you should be
paying attention to this is going to be a very important time for you in regard to your question simple as that I really like to look for holidays or other significant events around the dates that the cards give me so that it sticks in the clients and a lot of times I'll give a date and the client will say something like oh that's my birthday or that's my sister's birthday or that's when our family reunion is happening there's already something in their mind that earmarks that date for them so that's a wonderful technique and then
I would move ahead with interpreting the cards now one little addition I like to use in this layout is I like to take a peek at the present time remember this was the top pile off of our deck and the present time always has significant right just because it's the present so I'll for sure turn the top card Wow big changes happening yes and sometimes I'll even turn the whole first pile over Dada Dada Dada that gives me a fun sort of parallel reading here where I can compare the present time to the future time
and I can do it line by line and the card spread where this card morphs into this card this card morphs into that card it's something I can pick up and use if I feel that it's relevant so that's that that's pretty simple right pretty simple and this is a deceptively simple card layout this four card Tower is probably the most boring layout visually that you could imagine for a card spread right I know people like to do these grand cross layouts and the up cards going every which way and looks all fancy but don't
be deceived this little layout is a powerhouse it gives you tons of information plenty to bring into your spread and also relates to all the different areas of the person's life it's just a rich rich spread and this is really my go-to spread love this spread and you know people like future times in relation to almost any question think about it let's say you have a client who's going well I'm not really happy with my job and thinking about switching jobs but I don't know if that's a good idea bla bla bla it would be
super value for that person to not only look at the present time right looks like they should quit their job but it's also helpful to look at the present time because that gives them a date and you know something to work with and so people like that and that's it for now and thanks for watching
