[Music] the center for bielectronic medicine is a group of worldclass researchers and state-of-the-art Facilities that are combining expertise in biology and Technology to treat a wide variety of conditions and diseases many diseases are treated with very powerful drugs that have side effects and in some cases like Parkinson's disease other drugs are added to those drugs to treat the side effects of the original drug and it can be very difficult bioelect ronic devices can be implanted once and then programmed to work all day long for many many years patients don't have to remember to take their
medications and many of these devices will have minimal or no side effects we are on the cusp of treating new diseases in new ways that would not have been imagined even 5 years ago we started the pivotal early trials in bioelectronic medicine going after diseases like rheumatoid arthritis inflammatory disease and even lethal shock and the early clinical trials have been extremely promising there are patients who have been treated with bioelectronic medical devices today who are in remission and are living nearly normal lives and are not taking medications in the center for Bio Tri medicine we're
not only looking at inflammatory conditions we're also looking at ways to treat diabetes cardiac disease spinal cord and brain injury and we hope to even develop new ways to treat cancer we are in a position to create new devices to treat diseases in entirely new ways one example of that is the neural tourniquet this is a device that has the ability to stimulate a nerve through the skin and control bleeding this has very significant impacts for patients who undergo surgery for anybody who sustains a traumatic injury whether that's in the civilian world or for our
