hey guys welcome back to my channel I'm Mayra from low carb love now most of you know I've lost over 100 pounds I've been maintaining my weight for over 15 years so today I wanted to talk about 10 tips that can help you lose 10 lbs now I've obviously had my ups and downs in my weight loss Journey again I feel like when you lose your weight that's just like the beginning of your journey the real real journey is how to maintain it but I feel like a lot of people really struggle with even just
trying to lose those first 10 lbs so that's kind of like what I want to talk about so just going right into it one of the things that really really helped me out was focusing on protein veggies and healthy fats proteins are so important because it's what's going to help keep you feeling full satiated obviously nourish your body then you have your veggies which veggies obviously are not processed your body knows exactly what to do with them now we could be sensitive to some veggies that just depending on you know we're all different I personally
do really well with broccoli I do well with mushrooms asparagus and then of course you have your healthy fats so fats are so so important especially to me I'm just um talking to you from a personal experience um fats really help me from snacking so the protein and the fats together is what helps you feel satiated and me personally it keeps me from snacking throughout the day now another another thing is drinking alcohol we all love a good margarita we all love a good Sunday Funday um even me guys Margaritas are my weakness like if
I'm if I'm ordering a drink at a restaurant I'm going for a margarita I usually love a frozen margarita I make my own because I know what I'm putting into my body I don't want all that Sugar because again alcohol stalls I don't care what anybody says they're like oh just drink tequila straight okay maybe if you do once in a while no big deal but if you're having this consistently and every single weekend I would say it's definitely going to affect your weight loss so cut it out drinks are important even Diet Coke guys
and I love okay I'm not going to be I'm not I'm not being hypocritical here I'm just telling you what I know works and doesn't work I love Coke Zero okay guilty pleasure to the max I try to stay away from it because I know it's not healthy and I try to do Sparkling Waters instead but drinks are just so important um because it's something that you're kind of consuming throughout the day and if you're putting chemicals and just bad crap into your body it's going to show so stick to Sparkling Waters stick to your

that adds up even for someone like me that loves coffee I have to Li limit myself because I don't like black coffee if you give me black coffee I'm probably not drinking coffee at all I like my coffee to tastes like dessert I like it to taste nice and creamy and delicious add it add a little bit of cinnamon but if you're having three coffees a day think about how much creamer you're you're putting in there and if you're having like a processed creamer uh-uh because processed creamers have like soybean they have like some type
of hydrogenated oil and all of that causes your your gut to get inflamed it's going to stall your weight loss guys I love coffee um I would just say that if you're having like three cups a day that can also add up so you want to limit that to at least just one cup of day one cup a day and I would also be very careful with your creamer so if you're having like a processed creamer that has soybean oil hydrogenated oils that's all going to like affect your gut it can cause inflammation stall your
weight loss domino effect so I would say make your own okay I'm probably going to put out a recipe with how to make a dairyfree creamer and a regular creamer that tastes absolutely like 10 out of 10 delicious but do you know if you're going to do a coffee make your own creamer because then you know exactly what you're putting into your body and I would say instead of having three cups limit it to One Max two so moving on to carbohydrates so another thing to do is stay away from processed carbohydrates chips crackers pastas
things that come in a box are usually highly processed and also have a lot of carbs so I would definitely stay away from that try to focus just on your like Whole Foods and um I'm not saying forever this is just like that initial push it's going to give you that initial push so stay away from that stuff now even snacks so you can find like keto snacks you can find low carb snacks you can find a lot of snacks that are still like labeled as healthy I would stay away from all of that at
least when you're first first getting started because that definitely can cause a stall I feel like you want to develop like a good Baseline once that scales moving your body's burning fat you're like on fire then you can add some of those things in and if your weight loss stalls boom out you know what I mean cut it out because you know that that is affecting your weight loss so my my thing with weight loss is like um what do I say um I always tell people it's a short-term sacrifice for a long-term benefit so
like go hard stick to stick to what is working for you and then once you get close to your goal weight or once you hit your goal weight then you can start incorporating some of those foods that you love and you miss and then you can see how your body feels and if it if that if that scale stalls or it starts going up then you know what's causing it you know what I mean now if you are a snacker like I am guys I'm telling you I am the snacking Queen okay I have snacks
I I literally actually meal prep snacks but I've learned that snacking when you're snacking on like processed foods like chips and cookies oh but they're low carb oh but these are paleo or whatever- the only thing I snack on now are beef sticks hard-boiled eggs or like plain chicken breast if when I ask myself like cuz sometimes you're like oh I'm snacking because I'm hungry right so you have to ask yourself do you want a hardboiled egg do you want some plain chicken breast and the answer is yes then you're probably genuinely hungry but for
the most part like when you're not hungry the last thing you're trying to snack on is a hard-boiled egg you know what I mean so that's another tip is um with when it comes to snacking first of all I would say stay away from snacking right because you should be eating a meal that has enough protein and enough healthy fats so that you are satiated until your next meal but let's just say for whatever reason maybe you were out and about you had something small if you have to snack to hold you over into your
next meal snack on some type of beef beef stick beef jerky whatever hard-boiled eggs or some plain chicken breast like those are the three things that I for me it works like a charm and um you don't have to feel like you're going off plan you know you're not putting things that are processed into your body you're actually getting in more protein and you're having a snack that's nutrient-dense now one of the reasons why I don't really love snacking especially when you're like actively trying to lose weight is because if you're having things that are
processed or maybe you're having like some type of fruit or you're having things that are more carb heavy then you're spiking your glucose and your insulin throughout the day um and I don't know if you know this but when your insulin is spiked fat burn is off so that's why the lower your carbs are the more even and the more like stable your insulin is when your insulin is low fat bur is up so I don't know if you if you if you knew this but that's the reason why you don't want to be snacking
