welcome to IBJJF tutorials in this video we'll be going over knee on belly the knee on belly points are scored when an athlete is in top position free of any kind of guard and the knee or shin that is closest to the opponent's hips is placed on the belly chest or ribs for at least three seconds the opponent can be flat on their back or on their side posture does not matter in order to score points what is important is that the athletes a knee or shin is placed on the opponent's torso and the opposite
knee is off the mat if the opponent defends by pushing the athlete off of the knee on belly position the athlete will have a chance to try the position again if the athlete holds the knee on belly position for a second time they will be awarded another set of two points now we will be showing you how advantages are scored the referee may only award advantage points once there is no longer a chance for the athlete to reach a point scoring position when you get the knee on belly position believe the opposite knee on the
mat when your opponent defends the position before you establish control for three seconds here is a position where no points or advantages will be awarded when the athlete places the knee closest to the opponent's head on the torso here are some situations where you will not be awarded an extra set of points after the knee on belly position has been established and the points are scored if the athlete leaves the position voluntarily and then goes to the knee on belly position for a second time they will not be awarded a new set of points even
if the athlete switches for neon belly to the other side of their opponent if you have any questions or concerns regarding knee on belly please visit IBJJF dot-com forward slash rules thank you
