Hello everyone, welcome back to the channel! Today we are in Veneto to explore this beautiful region We have been carrying out for a year now our project of the five places of the Italian regions and Veneto is the seventh we are talking about. There are still a lot of them missing, 13 to be precise so the work is still long, however if you go to the channel home page you will find the playlist with all the videos we have already made so if you have lost them you can recover them.
Now before we start, if you want to support us, subscribe to the channel. Now let's go! We have already said it many times but we like to repeat it for those who arrive for the first time on the channel; it is always difficult to identify only five places in an entire region that can best represent it, we usually look for lesser-known places that in our opinion deserve to be seen.
The Belluno Dolomites National Park is located in the province of Belluno, a concentration of beauty, nature and incredible mountains, unfortunately not having the time to explore the whole park, we concentrated on the Val di Zoldo area, Alleghe and around the imposing Mount Civetta the the roads we take to get to Val Cordevole, our first stop of the day are truly splendid. Once in Alleghe we take the first cable way that takes us first to the Piani di Pezzè and immediately after a second that reaches Col dei Baldi where there is a chalet that serves as a bar and restaurant with a beautiful terrace. The cost of the ticket for the cable way is of 20 euros round trip Our excursion to Coldai lake now starts at 1913 meters high, the path is about 3 and a half kilometers one way with a positive difference in height of 400 meters The first part of the path is slightly downhill in the middle to the fields of yellow flowers and with a special view of Mount Pelmo.
Once we reach the Pióda hut at 1,816 meters we begin the zigzag climb among the stones with breathtaking views to keep us company. In about an hour and a half we reach the Coldai refuge at 2,132 two meters, the mountains all around us are a spectacle, with others 20 minutes walk we arrive at the Coldai lake with its emerald waters, nature can truly create incredible places Small note even if we think you don't need: we crossed a girl who was making the ascent to Coldai with rope sandals, please be responsible and informed, always well equipped. Let's go back to Col dei Baldi following the same route, keep in mind that the last ride of the cable car is at 5pm back in Alleghe we move to Val di Zoldo passing through Selva di Cadore and arrive in Coi, a hamlet of Zoldo Alto, it is a very small town but of an incredible charm positioned at 1,500 meters high, here it is possible to admire typical buildings such as Tabiài, the typical wooden barns of the area, we also had an unexpected encounter as the evening fell.
These valleys seemed like a real paradise to which we will surely return to discover them more deeply Clinging to a vertical wall of Mount Baldo in the province of Verona there is a unique place: the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Corona which overlooks the Adige valley, this complex that seems to float in mid-air between earth and sky, due to its position it really leaves you speechless. Built at 770 meters above sea level, to reach it just leave the car in Spiazzi di Caprino Veronese, a small well-kept village and follow the signs that will take you down a paved road for about 15 minutes on foot. After a short tunnel you reach the staircase that leads to the church set in the rock, unfortunately it is not possible to take pictures and videos inside, but you must absolutely see this very particular creation, the left side of the church is made up entirely of the rock of the mountain and it is really an unusual sight the view from here on the valley below is really beautiful.
If you want to have a special view of the sanctuary, exit the gallery and before retracing your steps, turn left and after a small climb you will find the bus stop and a special view of this place Since the visit of the sanctuary will not take you for more than 1 or 2 hours in total we recommend that you visit one of the many places around it. For example, in about half an hour you can reach Lake Garda full of villages and interesting places to explore; we decided to visit the tiny village of Crero, near Torri del Benaco and reach the Tibetan bridge built in 2019, the peace that this place has given us is fantastic after five minutes of walking we leave the town and meet the church of San Siro which is located in a super panoramic position on the lake. The first part of the path is simple and suitable for everyone, you also reach a small house made of logs and some wooden benches positioned around a bonfire, whoever created this corner was really fantastic, it looks like an enchanted place.
From here starts a descent in the woods and then a steep climb on irregular stones that finally leads to the Tibetan bridge, it is a bit more difficult than we imagined so we recommend trekking shoes, in about 40 minutes we arrive at your destination and the Tibetan bridge 34 meters long and suspended 40 meters high gave us a beautiful view of Lake Garda in an adrenaline-pumping crossing of the ravine below us Hidden in the woods of the Belluna valley there is a truly incredible natural jewel: the Grotta Azzurra di Mel. Starting from the castle of Zumelle it is very simple to get there there are the white and blue markers that will lead you in the middle of a beautiful forest and immediately after walking on the bed of the Rui stream, on large boulders, the outward journey is practically all downhill and from parking it takes about 40 minutes of walking before arriving at the cave, we advise you to wear hiking shoes and to come early in the morning so as not to meet anyone and enjoy this place in complete tranquility, also we would like to remind you that this enchanting place is not swimming even if the incredibly clear water can be inviting. We try to preserve nature in all its beauty without leaving any signs of our passage We liked the whole route very much, the blue pools that form the stream are wonderful Not far away, about 20 minutes by car we find the village of Sant'Antonio Tortal starting point to discover the Brent de l'Art a truly unique place very similar to a canyon formed thanks to thousands of years of water erosion that has managed to bring back to light and rocks of millions of years ago, the colors that go from brick red to white are impressive The path we have chosen to follow is a ring marked with small blue signs for Nordic Walking, four and a half kilometers long with a difference in height of 200 meters, you walk mainly in a beautiful forest and then arrive in a clearing where you will find a fountain, to return to the village take the paved road and continue uphill to the town; it was a really enjoyable excursion that we recommend.
I have heard about the Euganean Hills all my life. Of Baone, Monselice and Calaone but above all of Este and Arquà Petrarca, the hometowns of my great-grandparents with whom I grew up I'm really happy to be here and finally see these villages with my own eyes, the Euganean Hills area is wonderful the first stop we make is Este with its wonderful gardens and the Carrarese castle that dominates the town, its walls are about a kilometer long and are the majestic setting for the public gardens that can be visited freely In the historic center do not miss the Piazza Maggiore and the civic tower of Porta Vecchia with its clock In just 15 minutes we move to Arquà Petrarca, a very well preserved medieval village divided into upper and lower parts. In the upper part it is possible to see with the 5 euro ticket the house where the poet Francesco Petrarca spent the last years of his life Finely decorated and with a splendid garden it was really an interesting visit Passing near the town hall and the Loggia dei Vicari you then reach the lower part of the village where the Contarini palace and Petrarch's tomb are located.
From Arquà starts a 45-minute uphill but very simple walk, which passing through via Scalette reaches the plateau of Mottolone, a wonderful panoramic point on the Euganean Hills we unfortunately found a bit of haze but on a clear day and maybe at sunset. show is guaranteed, our last stop on the hills is the monumental garden of Val Sanzibio, the entrance ticket is 12 euros and you will also be given a map with a recommended route so as not to miss one of the things of all the points of interest the most beautiful to see inside the park is the labyrinth made with 6 thousand boxwood plants that are for the most part more than 400 years old, it was created by the architect Luigi Bernini, brother of the more famous Gianlorenzo and still today it is an incredible sight , with an additional ticket of 4 euros it is also possible to walk it all beautiful also the fountains and statues, the historic Villa Barbarigo which is the background to the gardens and the Pavilion ion of Diana; it is really a splendid place on a hot day like the one in which we visited it walking in the shade of the large trees in the garden it was really beautiful and relaxing Crossing the wonderful Prosecco hills, Unesco heritage we arrive in a postcard place that seems to have come out straight from a storybook; Molinetto della Croda is a 17th century water mill completely restored and became a cultural heritage of the area in 1991, even the millstone has been faithfully rebuilt and made functional again. You can visit the interior with a 3 euro ticket and up to 18 September a very interesting photographic exhibition was set up with historical photos of the place it is small and it will not take long to visit it but the scenery is truly unique, 15 minutes from here do not miss the village of Cison di Valmarino with its splendid Piazza Roma on which all the most important buildings in the country overlook .
Characteristic are the red window frames throughout the historic center that give a particular aspect to the town, from the square walk to the ancient Brandolini cellars and continue on the bridge that gives access to via dei Mulini following the road you will leave the town of Cison to start a historical naturalistic path that will lead you to discover old mills, reconstructed wash houses and fountains with different signs that tell the story of this place linked to the stream and the use of its waters in daily life. The whole walk is a 6 km loop with 250 meters of elevation gain Thanks for coming to the end of the video, as usual it was very difficult to choose only five places in a region, we know that there are a thousand others to see and therefore you we ask you to advise us below in the comments some places that we missed during our trip to Veneto! Among other things with all your advice, even those you wrote below all the other videos, we are accumulating an endless list of places to see and we thank you!
