In a few days, there's a huge quality of life update coming to Rust. And in a previous video, we covered the first half of the update. So, you should go check that out as well.
Compound bow turrets have been nerfed, and now it's going to take three to four shots to kill you if you have no armor on instead of getting two tapped. And the reload times of compound bows placed inside turrets have been increased slightly. Also, turrets will be less accurate when shooting players on moving trains.
The explosive requirements for propane bombs have been removed, but the primitive game mode will still use the old crafting recipe. The new B bomb has been set up in the tier 2 tuck tree next to the incendiary bomb and will cost three B grenades and 200 wood. This bomb only works when launched from the catapult and once it impacts it releases three groups of bee swarms.
So it's basically like throwing three B grenades at one time at a very long distance. The durability on the MP5 has been increased so you can shoot more bullet. And then the sound effects have been set up for the other two new silencers.
The crafting recipe has been set up for the targeting attachment, which lets you ping with your weapon. And this is 10 HQM one tech trash, and it's been set up in the tier 2 workbench next to the GCO. The new jungle biome spawns in the tier zero part of the map, which is also where players spawn.
And now temperate biomes have been added to the left and right of the jungle, which is now where players will spawn at instead of in the jungle. I do think that this is a good idea to remove player spawns from the jungle, but currently the way that the temperate biomes spawn feels a bit weird, and I think it should, you know, weave through the jungle a bit more instead of being completely separate. Some more good news for the jungle is small rock formations have been added, which increases the node spawns even more.
And this buff, as well as the other one, to the node population, is going to make building in the jungle much more viable. And finding hemp in the jungle is going to be much easier with this new wild variant. It's much taller and has a purple flower at the top, making it way easier to spot in the jungle.
This doesn't affect the hemp growing in your farms, but it has replaced hemp everywhere else in other biomes, and I'm not sure if that's intended because it looks like it was made specifically for the jungle. A few of the jungle sound effects have been polished and updated, as well as some other sound effects in the game changed and fixed. There's a new feature that's currently a work in progress, which allows you to set a campfire as a respawn point for your Steam friends.
And that's all the information I currently have at the moment because it's a work in progress that also might not even be releasing until the new party system which is coming with the new menu is released. And it looks like this is still going to take some more time before it's ready. And the combination of these new features is going to modernize Rust in the way that you form your teams before loading into a server, as well as improving the experience for new players.
When you craft and place a campfire, it comes with 50 wood. And if you're one of the lucky ones that owns a hobo barrel, it will soon do the same. In addition to reducing your wetness and heating you up, the floor heaters found at some monuments will also now give you 50% comfort.
Currently, rugs are a little bit difficult to pick up and you have to look at them at a certain angle. And hopefully this will be fixed with a new commit that wasn't merged for me to test yet. But the blue industrial light has been merged and is included in the DLC that already exists.
So if you own the DLC, you'll now have yourself a nice blue light to include in your base. And another change to existing DLC is if you own the jungle pack that comes with these shelves. The single bamboo shelf officially now allows you to place small boxes on it, which allows you to do some crazy stacking like this, but I'm guessing that the colliders are going to be adjusted so that you can't squeeze the shelf into the small box.
And the tool that you use to place wallpaper down has been updated with some new features. This is an item that everybody can use and comes with some default skins as well as some DLC. And now, if you simply look down, you can put the wallpaper on the floor.
I call it floor paper. And it looks like these are going to be the default skins that everybody will be able to use. And if you look up, there's different variations specifically for the ceiling.
So the wallpaper, the floor paper, and the roof paper are all three different items combined into a single tool. And this is going to allow players much more creative freedom in the way that the interiors of their bases look. Also, the roof paper is actually placeable on the roof tiles, and the wallpaper tool can be placed inside of the tool cupboard.
Also, a new command was added called print wallpaper skins, which allows admins to find the short names of all of the wallpapers, roof papers, and floor papers to make it much easier for them to spawn it in for whatever reason. And if you're doing so, there's also some changes to the already existing commands that you can see here. In my inventory is a bunch of items.
And if you place them down, that's it. They're there. But now, if you're within a TC build proof, you can pull out a hammer, right click, and demolish them.
Keep in mind, this is a feature used to fix mistakes, and you're not going to get refunded the item or any resources. A 2-year-old hackw week project for a mannequin has been picked back up a couple days ago, and it looks like this is going to be poseable by the player and allow them to place up to seven slots of armor on them. Water well vendors now have advanced harvesting and crafting tees added to their cell list, giving you yet another reason to venture out and explore all the different water wells on the map.
And now all the different types of produce, including all of the berries, have a 48hour timer on them before they will spoil. And this includes everything including pumpkins and eggs and mushrooms. And they will all turn into a single item called spoiled produce, which is something that you can use to feed to your chickens inside of chicken coops.
Also, the stack size on black raspberries has been increased to 20. And these, as well as blueberries, are very good items to carry on you for some instant health. The cooking workbench has been moved over to the tier 2 tech tree, and you'll find it down below the large furnace.
The DPV, which was added a while ago, tilts your screen when you're turning. And this can be a little nauseating as well as difficult to maneuver with. And now there's a new command that players can disable, which as you can see here, once we start turning, the screen doesn't tilt.
It's just our player model that does. This makes it much easier to maneuver, as well as making it a little less sickening. There's a fix coming to the submarine window, which is going to make it a little more blurry.
I'm assuming it hasn't been merged yet, but it's going to fix this huge unfair advantage that players have while inside submarines. And if you're interested in the command block, it has been merged to the staging branch. I'm too dumb to figure out how to get it to work.
But if you press E on it, you can input a string of commands. And there are two nodes on the top for a power in and a pass through. The textures have been updated.
And here are some commands associated with it. Thanks for watching the video. Don't forget to leave a like.
