Coming up in today's video, my puppy goes on his first ever walk. We do some festive scrapbooking and we decorate the cottage for Christmas, trying to make it dogproof. But we do like socks very much.
Okay, is it in? We're putting it in. Now the question is, will the lights work?
Three, two, one. Hello everybody and welcome to another cozy cottage country vlog. Today is going to be a very festive one because we're going to be decorating the house for Christmas also with a puppy.
So, this is probably going to be a very chaotic vlog. Fussy. He knew.
He knew exactly when to start having Zooies. Hello. Yes.
It's very It's a very exciting day. Anyway, I'm going to Okay, he's off. He's off.
He's had too much excitement. But where I'm sitting right now actually is where his play pen used to be. So, he is now big enough.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING? OKAY, we're back. We're very excited because I've just been moving all the furniture around.
As I was trying to say, where I'm sitting now, actually, is where his play pen used to be, where I had like a a mat down and everything. But we got upgraded because we're now pretty much I'm going to say pretty much, not 100%, but 99% potty trained. So, it means that we don't have your pen anymore and he can free range around the house.
But the thing I'm nervous about is the Christmas tree. So, I'm going to show you what I ordered online to try and protect it from this beast here. Yes.
You being all Oh, he's like, "Oh, I'm such a good boy. I would never I would never destroy a Christmas tree. " No, I'm so angelic and chilled and sleepy when you were literally just running like absolute zooies around the house because the furniture's moved.
Anyway, there you go, boy. Let me show you. Oh, that was not very of a grand entrance.
But we have a fence. So, I went online, tried to find the most aesthetically pleasing fence. This is the best we've got.
This one actually has some little fairy lights put into it, which I'm a bit nervous about. I think you can take the fairy lights out, so I probably will do that for this year anyway, just because we don't want puppies chewing on wires. But, this is our going to be our Christmas tree protection device.
Fingers crossed it works. Um, the only thing I would say about it is the fake snow on it is very cute. But it does look like somebody with really bad dandruff has just been going around my house because it is kind of shedding all over the floor.
But you know what? It's fine. It's fine.
Once it's under the Christmas tree and it's not moving, hopefully FSY does not move it. It will be all good. So anyway, first things first, we need to go and get the decorations.
We need to go and get the tree. Also, you might be able to see that Possy here has an emotional support sock. He has one sock that he's allowed to have.
You know, he's only allowed to have this one. Um, and because he looks a little bit like Dobby the house elf from Harry Potter. We kind of joke that this is his sock.
Dobby is free. Dobby has colle My family keep calling him Dobby. And he's not Dobby.
He's fussy. But we do like socks very much and feet for some reason, which is a bit strange. But anyway, each their own.
Here is your sock. Good boy. Okay, we're going to go and get the Christmas tree.
You going to be good? Yeah. All right.
So, last time I went in my loft, the loft door fell on me. So, I've not had much luck with doors. My wardrobe door's fallen on me if you listen to that in my podcast episode.
So, fingers crossed it doesn't doesn't destroy my head this time. A little bit nervous to release it. Don't fall on me.
Don't fall on me. Don't fall on me. Now, I have actually already put away my autumn decorations because last year I put away my autumn decorations and then put up my Christmas decorations on the same day and that was too much.
It made me not as festive because I was just absolutely exhausted from doing it all. So, I actually last week put away my autumn decorations. So, I've had a week of no decorations.
So, now I'm excited for the Christmas ones. I don't like ladders. They freak me out.
It's going up. Going up. Oh my gosh.
Okay, we got tree number one. David, can I pass this to you? Thank you, David.
Tree number two. Thank you, David. Tree number three.
They're getting smaller and smaller. Thank you, David. I have a sleigh.
Slay queen. I have a little friend. We're starting with the boxes.
Why am I doing Jurassic Park music? Nice. Do you like my hedgehog socks?
They are hedgehogs in love. You might be able to see that some of these are actually a little bit empty. And that's cuz when I put away my autumn decorations, I did grab a few Christmas cushions to go on my sofas that were like pine tree.
Like not too festive because it was still November, but you know, enough for like a little little excitement. I think I might need help getting the actual tree down. That's that's hefty.
I'm not going to lie. This is looking more like Halloween decorations than Christmas ones because you could you could fit me in this back to be honest. Anyway, we're going to open up because in here we have my Christmas tree.
I think I've had this for like 3 years now. Basically, ever since I lived in the cottage because often with my job, I have to film Christmas content before Christmas. So, if I had a real tree, which I've always been like a real tree family.
Just saying. Just putting it out there. When I was younger, I would say it's not a real Christmas without a real tree.
But now, if I got a real tree in like October, November, then it would be dead by the 25th of December. So, anyway, we have my fake tree. But I tell you what, it is a very good one.
And it has built-in lights, so I don't have to worry each year about doing the unravel the lights game. Anyway, let's see if we can find the bottom. Is this the bottom?
Here we go. Okay, let's place it in. No, that's not the bottom.
We need to find the bit with the spiky end. We have Oh, it's it's poking out the end. It's made a hole.
We have the bottom. Okay. So, I have this cute little kind of Christmas tree skirt.
The wires around the corner. Are you in? Are you settled?
Oh, this it's all it's all happening. I told you this would be a chaotic vlog. You know those Cotsworld country influencers and they just open a door and their whole house is immaculate and beautiful.
I I'm not one of those creators, guys. Um, if you couldn't tell. We're we're we're chaotic and real here.
We don't take ourselves Christmas tree just almost took me out. We don't take ourselves too seriously here. Okay.
Is it in? We're putting it in. I was like, I'll put a nice cozy knit on.
I'm absolutely sweating right now. That's probably a bit TMI, but I'm so warm. Number two is in.
Oh, this one's got a little bit. It's been a bit squished over the last 12 months. Okay, we're connected together.
Now, the question is, will the lights work? Cuz I'll be so upset if they don't. Three, two, one.
Ah, THERE WE GO. THAT DELAY, that like half a second delay did scare me a little bit. But we're here.
The tree is up. I now need to reassemble my fence fencage. I have a feeling I'm going to have to try and like wiggle it back into the corner to try and make it fsy proof.
We're going to have a destroyed Christmas tree. Oh, that sounds horrible. H I might need to get some more fence.
Tada. I'm definitely going to have to take those lights off. Might need to get some cable ties.
But there we go. the tree. Let me look back at my work.
It's up kind of. So, I've just been told that it looks real, but that's because it's a bit wonky because obviously a real Christmas tree isn't going to be 100% perfect. I'm just doing a bit of a bit of fluffing, a bit of fluffing it about.
While my tree has some time to settle, it's now time to get out the big boys. So, I thought we would do my lovely winter berries first like normal and put them around the fireplace cuz they I'm just thinking, what's all the stuff that's dogproof that I can put up? And this is dog proof because it's high enough for him not being able to reach it.
Excuse me, Ivy plant. Boom. There we go.
Give it a little fluff. Feel like this is the one thing that makes it feel really festive. I love my winter berries.
They're probably one of my favorite decorations. Tada. All right.
Next, I have some winter flowers. So, I'm going to replace them on my little TV stand over here. Another thing that the dog cannot reach.
I think I do have some more bits to put in here. I feel like that doesn't look quite right. We'll come back to it.
We'll come back to it. You know what I might do actually is just unwrap all of my Christmas decorations and pop them on here a bit like I did with my autumn ones just so I can see what I have and have a little think about where I want to put everything this year. I feel like I'm doing like a little unboxing for you all.
So, here is my Christmas decorations. We have another little Christmas tree. I think that one normally goes in my bathroom, actually.
This these ones I always think look so fancy because they're made of glass. Well, actually, I think this is from like B&M or somewhere. Oh, the puppy is like, "Oh my gosh, she's doing a toy unboxing.
" We have put him in his crate just for a little bit, just for safety reasons. Box number two to go. We have a little makeshift Christmas tree.
I'll put that together in a sec. We have my stocking. I think actually I can probably hang this up.
My Christmas candles as well. These are so cute. I love these.
They've got little holly berries and um pine leaves on. There we go. This was supposed to go somewhere.
Sorry, I'm just I'm just going through everything and being like, oh, I forgot how cute everything is. Oh my gosh, my Christmas rat. I forgot he's like I really want the Christmas rat.
This is not the doggies. Oh, here we go. This is what this is what I was looking for, guys.
These were the berries that need to go in my little jug. Festive flowers in there. Put the berries in.
Oh, that looks so much better, doesn't it? It just looks like it's a little bit less barren. Some my little candle will look really cute there.
I'm probably going to keep my horse there because I just I this is one of my favorite things in the house cuz it's like a little little bit of horse girl energy, you know. I've just found my cute little wooden signs. So, I'm going to put that one up there and one here.
I feel like normally with my decorating videos, I'm like, "Okay, we can do this section now and then we're going to do this section when today we're doing this, that, and the other. We're putting things everywhere because you know what? There's this there's there is some sort of method of madness.
I'm basically finding things and being like, "Yes, the dog cannot reach that. I will put that in a home. " Uh-oh, we got a crying baby.
There's my little stocking. Oh, I know. I keep putting really exciting things out and you can't play with them.
I know. is very mean. Realized how many of these I made a glass.
I have not future. Oh. Oh, very sad.
I think I might go on to cushions next. Get these big boys out of the way. Okay, so we're going to do the soft furnishings next.
So, I have my cute little cushions. Oh, that normally goes in my kitchen. Perfect.
I also normally put away all of my Christmas jumpers as well. So, they are now back. So, here is my little Christmas jumpers.
I have I have this one, which is very cute. I love it all. Fair old knit, I think they're called.
All right, so the plan is I'm going to take all of these cushions off and have a little have a little rearrange. Um I have this really cute throw that I might put on the sofa. But um this is my dog proof throw that I have that is um stopping any muddy paws or to chew on these bits which I'm trying to get him out of, but he's teething and he's only little.
So, um I'm just going to retuck in my dogp proof sheet, which actually I'm actually so proud of how well I have color matched this blanket because it basically almost is the same color as my sofa. Is this probably maybe going to get chewed by a dog? Possibly.
It's just like a little pop of color in the corner. Okay, what questions do we have? This is a very cute one.
This is probably one of my favorite ones. We got my little candy canes. Forgot about them.
They normally go on my bed. Then we have this one that says, "Merry Christmas. " I do actually like these.
These are very kind of like wintry. So, I have my fluffy ones. Can probably I did not fall.
You did not see that. Can go here, too. And then what do we have?
We can probably put the olive ones back cuz they're green. Christmas is green cuz this is the dog sofa, if you couldn't tell. This is the sofa that he's allowed on.
The other sofa, not so much. My other Christmas throw. Maybe putting on this sofa.
These blankets just like to mol. They're just there's just fluff everywhere. I'm trying to be like one of those aesthetic Pinterest girlies that are like, "Oh, yes, a little blanket just thrown willy-nilly on the sofa and it looks perfect when me when I throw it, it literally looks like I've just chucked it on there.
" So, I have my little Christmas rat that my brother's girlfriend got me um as a little cute joke present. So, he can go up here and I think my little elf should definitely go up on my fireplace as well. So, there there they are together.
Very cute. All right, this looks rather dogproof. So, we're going to risk it and we're going to put it at dog level.
Okay. So, the stuff that is at dog level, if it gets destroyed, then that's on me. Goodness.
Okay. We got these lights. Actually, I could probably hang over my kitchen.
So, I think actually these can be used. All right. We have the plug.
The lights. Me on a stool untangling them. We have chaos.
Okay. What I'm going to do is actually plug them in so I can actually see what I'm doing. We have light.
So festive. I I mean I have fairy lights in my bedroom all year round just because pretty. Where are we going to start and where are we going to end?
In the middle. Oh, that looks cute. What I might do actually is put my little mistletoe at the top.
Okay, we've got the mistletoe. Oh, that's so cute. That actually is is so good.
Um I might clear the table and put my little table runner on cuz that'll add a bit of festivity. Right now I am just cleaning my table because I have a cute little festive Christmas runner that I put on here. And I'm just going to make sure that before I put it down that there are no crumbs or stickiness or goodness knows what stuck to the table.
I quite like having a little festive runner because I love this table because it's just gorgeous with all the wood and things. I don't want to cover too much of it up, but this is perfect cuz it just gives a little pop of color, pop of festivities. Is it a little bit too short for my table?
Yes. But does it work still? Yes.
The center. And then I have my festive candlesticks which are one of my favorites because I don't know they just they're just so cute. I actually don't want to burn these because they are just so adorable.
I want to keep them for next year and next year and next year and next year and forever. Look at that. There we go.
Pop of festivity. All right, I think it's now time to put the decorations on the tree. The big moment.
All right, so this is going to be a process when it comes to decorating my tree. I'm going to try and put all of my non-glass fragile ones on first. my sparkly stars.
Obviously, we have the star that goes on the top of the tree. That is best till last. So, this tree this year is probably going to be a little bit more on the bare side, but that's okay.
2026, hopefully I will have a well-trained dog rather than a very, very young puppy. This little guy, he can go on. He's not too too fragile in case the tree does come tumbling down.
Hopefully not. All right, I've just found these little guys that are not glass. So, they can go on the tree.
I've some I've been a bit brave with some decorations that are a little bit lower down. So, we will see how it goes. I will stay super supervised with the pup with the tree.
I think I'm probably going to leave it there. I'm going to leave I think all the rest are kind of glass or very precious decorations. It's now time to the pista resistance.
Put the star at the top of the tree. Woo! Merry Christmas, everyone.
Okay, I think it's now time for a little bit of a tour. >> Grab your coat. It's getting cold.
Just look at the falling snow. The season's greetings. Happy meetings.
Oh, and a little bit of mistletoe. They're decorating the Christmas tree with a star on top for you and me. Can you hear the sleigh bells?
Christmas time. >> So, the puppy has been exceptionally patient and it's now time to release him. What do you think, Foss?
What do you think to your Christmas decorations? Oh, you just want to come to me? Okay, I see how it is.
Okay, I'm going to keep an eye on him when it comes to Oh, off. He knows he's not allowed to jump up. Oh, blanket sniff.
Very nice. Very nice. No.
Oh, good boy. Do you know what? You can play with your favorite Highland cow.
That's way more exciting than the Christmas decorations. Oh, yeah. You know you're not allowed on that sofa.
Off. Good job. If you want to go on the sofa, you can go on your one.
That's the dog sofa. Good job. He's not bothered by the tree yet, which is good.
We just keep him distracted with the toys and hopefully he will forget the tree is even there. All righty. I need to go and do the horses now, but I'll be back soon and we will get up to some more festive activities after lunch.
Are we tired? Are we ready for a nap? I think he's ready for a nap.
Good boy. Oh, thank you. Welcome to the woods, everyone.
And we're out for a walk with FSY. This is probably like our second or maybe third walk we've ever done. And I say walk kind of in quotation marks because a lot of the time this little guy, where is he?
Where is he? There. There he is.
He keeps going around. It's actually very useful him having a bright red jacket like this because then I can actually see where he is cuz he's still very little, very small. Um, but yeah, this jacket actually belonged to my grandma's dog when she was a puppy.
So, thank you, Nana, for the coat. It's very useful, very festive as well, being bright red because he is growing so much. So, actually, most of his clothes at the moment are handme-downs because I'm going to buy something and then he'll outgrow it in literally a week.
I think he's double or maybe even tripled in size. Since we got him, it's been well, on the day of recording this, he is now 14 or 15 weeks old, which is wild. Time has flown by so quickly.
Obviously, all of his vaccinations are now all kicked in, so that's why he can go on walks, but we're having a lovely little festive walk in the woods together. Um, but yeah, we don't go very far because obviously he's still growing, developing. He's not allowed to go too far.
And also because we mainly just sniff everywhere, which you know what, I'm not mad about. He's just exploring. So anyway, come on, mister.
Should we go for some zooies? We ready to zoom? Ready?
Let's go. Way up north, they're making toys for every little girl and boy who mailed in letters cuz they've been better. So much better than the year before.
Santa's crossing off every wish. Even moms and dads have made the list. Can you hear the sleigh bells?
It's Christmas time. The sound bes. on his house.
He's spreading joy all along the all around the world in one night. Can you hear the sleigh bells? It's Christmas time.
It is now a little bit later and I'm in the reading room slashscrapbooking room slashcraft room, whatever you want to call it, my bits and bobs room anyway. And I thought we would do a little bit of scrapbooking because I know you guys love watching that and also find it really satisfying. So I'm now going to do my December monthly spread on his merry way.
spreading joy all along the all around the world in one night. Can you hear Christmas time? It's Christmas time.
Heat. Heat. Yeah.
Heat. Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. Heat.
It's Christmas. It's Christmas. Here it is.
The finished look for my December monthly spread. I think I've got to say this might be one of my favorite monthly spreads I've ever done because it is just so festive with the green, the red. We've got lots of very cute stickers.
We've also got this big U tree here which does look like a Christmas tree. Um, but anyway, I'm super pleased with that. Of course, as the kind of month goes on, I normally write in all the little squares what I get up to, any sort of major events.
Obviously, I need to put Christmas Day in there. Got to do that. Um, but anyway, yeah, I really hope you enjoyed seeing me set up my bullet journal.
Oh my gosh, I'm going to have to do like a whole video for my 2026 bullet journal setting that all up because you know what? If you're thinking about starting a scrapbook or a journal in the new year, it's the best time to do it. I've got to say, I got to say I also hope you enjoyed seeing me decorate the cottage for Christmas.
Also going on a little festive walk with FSY as well. But anyway, on that note, I'm going to finish off today's episode there. I really hope you enjoyed it.
Um, also, if you'd like to see more vlogs from me, I'll put a little icard. Go and click on it or at the end of this video. And I'll see you all next time.
Bye.
