There's a new wave of mass demonetization happening right now on YouTube and it's hitting AI faceless channels pretty hard. And it's not just channels that are already monetized. Even channels that are just about to be monetized are all getting denied.
Now, this is the type of information I don't like to talk about publicly because I never want to push fear or discourage anyone. But honestly, if we don't talk about this, I'll be doing you a huge disservice because I literally teach you guys how to start a faceless channel with AI. And the last thing I want is for you to spend months building a channel, doing the work, spending the money, and you just wake up one day and realize your monetization is gone, or you don't even get approved in the first place.
So, in this video, I'm going to be breaking down what is happening right now, why it's happening, and most importantly, what ways to avoid it so your hard work doesn't go to waste. And yes, this is not my typical video as you could tell, but it's a very important one. What exactly is happening on YouTube in 2026?
This came to my attention when about 2 3 weeks ago I got this specific mail from YouTube and the email just said, "Hi Zin studio. We want to let you know our team reviewed your content and we think it violates our span and detective practices and scam policy. We know you may not have realized this was a violation of our policy, so we are not applying a strike to your channel.
However, we have removed the following content from YouTube. " Now, funny enough, when they said, "We have removed this content from YouTube, when I went to this video, the video was still up. " And when I went to the URL, I noticed that this URL was going to nowhere.
And this video was created 2 years ago. Then I realized that initially when AI started, AI tools were changing their website. This is the reason why maybe this one is not going anywhere.
So just to be safe, what I did was I took down the video entirely and went ahead and looked through my videos to check out if there's any link taking people to nowhere. Now this kind of sent off a flag in my brain because if a simple URL that is not working is being detected as spam that thing might be at risk and predicted few days after I started seeing a lot of people posting on X specifically that they are being demonetized and I was trying to understand what exactly is going on. Is that the result of the same issues we had last year when the inauthentic content was implemented?
And you could see from different screenshot here. This person was demonetized. You can see this I took this screenshot basically few days ago and this is very recent and you can see how the person was highly demonetized for 3 months and obviously the person has to apply and appeal before the monetization came back on these.
There's a lot of these type of images littered on on X and a lot of them is flagged for inauthentic content and I decided that we need to discuss to understand what is really going on so you don't fall into that trap. I got this data from Tik Media based off of what has happened between last year and now about 4. 7 billion views has been erased from YouTube about 35 million subscribers have been affected including myself because if you have been in my community you would know that this also affected me last year and then um 10 million annual revenue lost right obviously I can't confirm these numbers but these are some of the numbers they put out there which is very staggering I need to mention that it's not only just happening to AI faceless channels, but it's also happening to channels that show their faces, right?
This is not just about AI slop, but what is going on generally on the YouTube platform? YouTube is using an AI system to scan and monitor your channels. Why is YouTube cracking down on channels that it deems that the content is inauthentic or is having spam or flagging their spam policy?
Now the thing that I noticed was that the goal of YouTube is to protect viewers trust and also advertisers trust. Remember don't forget that AdSense is tied to advertisers on the platform and if they feel that whatever is being put out there is a lot of AI slop it's going to reduce the quality of advertisers and amount of money they make. Right?
So this is one of the major goals and they're focusing specifically on lowquality repetitive AI slop content. Anything that seems to be spam betty anything that looks like a content farm. What I mean by content farm that people chunking out videos like five six times a day.
These are the things that you need to pay attention to and also uploading or flooding the YouTube platform with mass produced videos and templates. This all kicked in as a result of the update that happened in July 15, 2025 on its monetization policies. In 2025, a lot of channels were deleted.
Now, people had a a large outcry on X about that and then I guess they stopped deleting channels and went ahead to start demonetizing channels instead of deleting the channels. So, it's important to understand what is deemed um AI slop, what is deemed inauthentic content, and what is deemed spam. So you could actually stay away from it.
Now you will identify what patterns is flagging the YouTube algorithm. Now from what I discovered, if you are creating content that seems repetitive, that is going to be a flag. Automation.
Now automation with a caveat in the sense that if AI is creating your videos from beginning to end, when I say beginning to end, that means your scripting, your voice over, your editing, everything is done by AI. is going to be a problem. And if your video is following a specific template, there's no form of variation, you are at risk of getting flagged and getting demonetized.
This is what I have talked about about full automated pipelines, recycling your script, flooding the YouTube platform by almost uploading. I've seen people that upload six, seven times a day. Just to be on the safe side, please stick to at least three videos a week until this whole thing dies down so we understand exactly what is happening on the platform.
Also, another signal is signs of interchangeable content. What does that mean? Like I said, anything that is mass- prodduced template, that means you have the same structure, the same pacing, the same emotional act, the same visuals, the same voice.
It's not changing or giving some form of variation. Everything looks almost like copy and paste. That is something that you need to watch out for if you're creating content.
Especially people who create things like ASMR, rain videos, please be careful. You have to put in some work to make the content original. All right.
So now, how are creators reacting? Creators are like panicking everywhere and people are kind of saying that, oh, you don't need to use AI anymore. That is not true because it's not just about using AI.
It's about using AI the right and not using AI your entire workflow. But now this is not the time to be afraid but the time to arm yourself with information. What am I recommending to do in 2026 so you are not caught in this web.
First of all, you have to look at the business model. A lot of people create faceless channels only by trying to make money through AdSense. Now imagine if your AdSense goes, everything goes.
So it's not about just choosing a random niche and making videos about it. Choose a niche that is educational. At worst, choose what we call an entertainment channel and a channel that educates but also entertains.
Why? Because you don't want to solely rely on YouTube AdSense. Okay?
So treat YouTube as distribution pipeline, not the business itself. What does that mean? Use YouTube to funnel people to your own products.
Things like your digital products, your softwares, your tools. Build an email list because YouTube should be a distribution engine to your own product. I also covered, you could check in the card above or in my last video, I covered 21 ways of monetizing your faceless channel.
There's a reason I did that video. go and watch it so you have an idea of other ways you could make money off of YouTube besides YouTube AdSense. Now, another thing is even if you are demonetized and you're watching this video, what you need to do, go out to your library, clear out any risky videos, and make sure that you're in good standing before you reapply to join the YouTube partner program.
Even if you are not yet monetized and you're watching this video, be sure that the workflow allows with what we have talked about, don't use template that is very repetitive. Make sure that you're not using AI to your workflow just to avoid when it's time to apply for monetization. The next thing is use AI differently.
Like I've said, let AI be an assistant, not the engine. On this channel, I teach you different tips and tricks of how to use AI to do different things, but don't use AI for every single workflow. Use it for your research, to draft out your outlines, for your scripts.
Use it to modify and enhance your scripts, but you have to have a human input in your script. So, and if you feel the script is heavily AI, you can pass it through like an large language model that could detect AI to help you humanize your script even further because obviously if you are using AI as it is, you're just going to sound like everybody out there. So, next break templates on purple.
If you have this specific template you use over and over again that feels like it's a PowerPoint slide or it doesn't have some form of dynamism to it, try and switch it up. If your hook at the beginning of your video follows a pattern, try to change the pattern a little bit just to give a form of variation to what your videos are. All right?
And also you can look at the structure. You can look at how the videos are structured. Sometimes you can use your voice instead of using an AI voice as well.
These are some of the things that play into breaking templates on purpose and adjust your upload strategy. Like I've said, instead of uploading every single day, okay, you can do it way that is three times a week. Just avoid having um YouTube look into your channel because you're just uploading excessively.
It takes time to create these videos and it takes time to upload them. This is not the time for quantum quantity over quality. This is time for strategic thinking and produce quality content over just chunking out loweffort videos and then build a brand.
Zeni Studio has a brand identity already. So not every faceless channel will require an avatar but build something that is recognizable. Either is the elements, either is the colors, either is the fonts, either is the music use.
Let it be recognizable. Let it be something that people know you for, not something that is generic or something that is easily forgettable. It's important that you are building a brand and not just creating something that is very random.
And then look at the big picture and have a better mindset. YouTube is just trying to solve like viewer experience and satisfaction. Obviously a business, your own business is to make sure that you stay in the right side of things.
But outlook would be our outwork in the sense that don't lean on lazy AI workflows. Use AI to your advantage but don't allow it do every work for you. Outline meaning stay up to date.
Pivo if there's policy changes if tools evolve evolve your content over suggest adjust your format your pipeline have a branding and then outlast. So with all this that is happening, you know, survive the demonetization, keep iterating until you make sure that you're in the right side of things. This is the reality of what is happening right now.
And I want to say this clearly. This is not the end of faceless AI channels. It's just the end of lazy, interchangeable, mass- prodduced channels.
If you take anything away from this video, let it be. Don't build your channel like a template factory. Build it like a real brand.
Add your perspective. break patterns on purpose. Slow down where you need to make sure a human is actually driving the process because in 2026, YouTube is paying attention to patterns, not just single videos.
Now, also, this is exactly what I keep telling you guys. Don't build your whole entire plan on YouTube accent. It can disappear any time.
It can disappear overnight. So, if you haven't watched it yet, go and watch the video. like I mentioned earlier about 21 ways to monetize your faceless channel and I'll leave the link in the description.
I also leave the video in the screen so you check that out and it would help you have better monetization plan so you don't depend on YouTube AdSense alone. I would like to get your thoughts in the comment section about what we have covered today. And if this video helped you, don't forget to like and subscribe.
