[music] Hello and welcome back to the channel. Unless you're new, then welcome. Today is all about locking in.
T is the season to lock in. If I'm being honest, I haven't genuinely been locked in for several months. And I was still going to the gym, still eating good, but I was just missing that oomph and that the active like checking boxes for working towards my goals.
And I feel like that's what being locked in is all about, setting goals and checking those boxes. So, we're getting after it. Pretty much as soon as I got home from Japan, I was like insta locked in.
I think the couple months of like travel was really getting to me and I wanted to come home and just like really slam right back into a routine that makes me feel good. So that means I'm tracking my calories. I'm making sure I I'm hitting my protein daily.
I'm taking creatine. I'm training really hard, much harder than I was previously. As someone who's been training for years, and really anyone who's been training for years will know this, that building muscle is so much harder than maintaining muscle.
I'm ready to smash right through that and build more muscle. Some ways that I've been doing that is tracking diligently my lifts, reps, and weight so that I can be absolutely positive that I am progressing. that keeps me really dialed with all the lifts to make sure I'm pushing as hard as I need to be because it's so easy to cheat yourself and to cheat your progress by just going not quite hard enough.
We've been training hard and it's been exhausting me the first week back. everything was sore. But I feel like that is a sign that I'm working hard and my body is also getting back into the swing of things and getting used to the volume um that I want to be training at.
So, it's the season of gains. It's the season of gains, guys. It's winter.
It's raining. It's been raining for like a week straight here. So, I'm really excited about this.
And I think that's what's the most enjoyable part is setting goals that get you excited and not forcing goals. If you're forcing goals, it's probably not going to happen. So, that's just my personal philosophy.
We're going to be hitting legs today because legs is like definitely the most intense and requires the most focus and intention. First things first, I like to eat before my lifts, especially on a leg day. And I've been making this like super beast breakfast.
I like to call it the beastly bowl >> because it's huge. It's massive. Like I I'm actually shocked that I'm able to eat it all in one sitting.
I really impressed myself. But it's oatmeal. So, let's get that oatmeal going.
This might sound crazy, but we're doing a full cup of whole milk and a cup of water and one cup of oats. We want to get this to a boil. I am cooking it on the stove now.
I wanted to say thank you to all of the recommendations on the last video where I made oats. I can't remember the video, but apparently I was doing everything wrong. And that was definitely the case because after cooking them on the stove, it was so much more enjoyable to eat.
So, thanks for the advice, everyone. Oops. Then I'll add one wo tablespoon of chia seeds and 1 tbsp of light brown sugar.
Why did it blob like that? All right, here we are. We got the beastly bowl ready to go.
Almost slipped out. You can definitely add like fruits and maybe some nuts to kind of make it look more appetizing, but I'm just here for the calories and it tastes good to me. So, here we go.
Still hot. This is a lot for me. I don't know if I'm just overreacting, but I feel like a cup of oats is pretty pretty substantial, but this is kind of a hack because anytime I eat this before a lecte, I have the best workout.
No lightheadedness, no headache, no nothing, no fuss, just work. Don't forget to stay hydrated. Didn't stand a chance.
Fit check. All black. White shoes.
Pre-workout. Let's go. Okay, we made it to the gym.
Quick note on my training style because it has shifted a bit and I haven't made a training vlog in a while. But I was doing power building for about a year and a half and I really enjoyed it. I really liked getting into the powerlifting side of things, but I kind of found that it was like not enough of each category cuz if you don't know, powerbuilding is like a mix of bodybuilding and powerlifting.
But unless you're just like goated, I feel like you're not giving your all to one or the other. And so yeah, I I just kind of felt like I wasn't really progressing anymore. And I did miss like bodybuilding style training.
That's how I started lifting in the first place. So it's been really nice to refocus. And I also felt like some of my muscle groups were just like seriously lacking.
So when I feel like I am putting in enough work on like my my lacking muscle groups, I'd love to get back into powerlifting. But the focus right now is all hypertrophy and muscle growth. So, leg day is going to be a little different.
We're doing, I believe, 17 sets, working sets, and we're pushing hard every set. I didn't eat that beastly bowl for nothing. So, we're going to get to work and have a really, really great pump.

This variation is made with soy sauce, vinegar, onions, and hot peppers. That's from our Chammora roots, right, bro? >> Mhm.
[clears throat] >> Bush. Our guest is leaving finally. >> Bye >> bye.
I wasn't expecting company in this vlog, but it's always important to be there for family. I think that's an underrated part of being locked in is supporting your loved ones. Dishes are done.
Skin care is done. I'm breaking out a little bit. Just a little bit.
Uh, thank you, Ludalial Figs. Before I really start winding down, I need to get some more protein in. So, I'm going to make a yogurt bowl and a protein shake.
Then I'm gonna be telling you guys about this book I've been reading. So I have been reading Dune, the first book. I've definitely not been reading as much as I want to be.
have about like 700 pages to go in this thing, but things are really heating up. So, that's one of my goals is to read more to make it more of a priority because I definitely have the time. I'm just not picking up the book.
My goal for myself instead of doing nighttime doom scrolling, I'm going to be doing nighttime reading. And lucky for me, this book is awesome. So, I will have no problem wanting to read it.
You ready for bed? Say good night. All right, guys.
That's all for today's vlog. I hope you enjoyed. Don't forget to lift, laugh, and love.
And I'll see you in the next video. Bye.
