Movie Goku was certifiably insane. A lot of Drgon Ball movies follow the formula of Goku getting his ass kicked, getting a surge of power, then defeating the enemy in the most brutal way possible. No second chances or hesitating.
If he didn't like you, you're getting spiritbombed or launched into the sun. Ignoring unnamed Red Ribbon soldiers, a pretty big portion of Goku's named kills are actually movie villains. I guess that explains the way Gogeta treated Broly.
