So ladies and gentlemen in today's video I want to address, a question that I've gotten a lot over the past year, which is Kindle or physical book. Now around a year ago I switched from and I'm always kind of like had Kindles here and there. Uh, one thing about me is I never seem to break anything.
I never seem to break phones and ever seem to break computers. This like just in general, I've had pretty good luck with that sort of stuff except for Kindles. I swear to God I've probably broken like seven Kindles before, um, in like a two year period cause I kept putting them in my suitcase and it was like the older ones not so sturdy and they kept breaking.
Now I picked this up. I remember I picked it up in Bali. So this is probably tail end of December is the tail end of December, 2018 and I remember I got my mom to bring it over with something called the muse meditation headband, which I also use.
So this is the Kindle Oasis right here. This is the one that has the 3g, whatever. Basically you have, you can download books wherever you want in the world, which I didn't ever think was like, I was like, alright, screw it, whatever.
It's like an extra like a hundred pounds or something like that, so whatever. Just might as well do it at the things a little pricey. I think if you get the normal one it's like 250 bucks.
I'm like without the little extra strip thing with the strip thing it's you know w with the three G four G I think it comes out to like 300 350 bucks. But look, let's address the question at hand here, which is why Kindle over books and at this point look, there is nothing that is better to me than getting a physical book. There's nothing better than that.
I mean this book isn't fresh at all. I read this book like quite a few times, but there's nothing better than just the smell of a fresh new book. Like, I love getting books and I love just like just in general, like when I see someone with a good book collection in their house, I just have a lot of respect for them.
I'm like, that's, I liked that. I liked that about you. I can tell we're going to get along right.
And you know, this book, this Kindle at this point has hundreds of books on here and it's definitely not as impressive. And in fact it kind of looks a little nerdy sometimes. Like, you know when you like to me when I see someone like reading a book and like highlighting and stuff, I'm like, that is that.
I think that looks cool. You know? And once again, that's a me, uh, nerdy digital marketer speaking.
Like that's my version of like cool. Whereas when you see someone with Kindle, I'm like, uhh, you just look kind of like, I know you just kinda look kinda like nerdy, you know what I mean? Like it just doesn't have that same sort of presence.
But I decided to disregard all of that for the benefits. And I want to quickly talk to you guys about some of the benefits. First things first.
Having all of your books in one place is such a huge benefit to me. The second thing is a lot of times someone will be telling me about a book, you know, or all I'll hear a book know I'll get a book recommendation or maybe I'm listening to like a YouTube viewer or a podcast or something and there's a book recommendation that comes up and I literally just quickly open up my Kindle, right? I'll pick up open on my Kindle, Kindle Oasis, and I'll just go and I will just search right?
And I'll literally just search it, I'll download it and there we go. I have it. It's there.
A lot of time I don't read the book straight away, but I have it and it's there. And that's one thing I love and the best part is you can even just go on your iPhone, download, like buy it, and then it automatically gets sent straight over to your Kindle. Okay.
So that is incredibly, incredibly useful. That's the next thing, which is you have any book you could ever want. You have instantly, you know, nowadays with Amazon prime you get same day delivery, you get next day delivery with prime, now you get two hour delivery.
But there's nothing better than just hearing a book recommendation and just downloading it and having it straight away. So that's benefit number one. And that's reason number one why I've switched to pretty much reading.
And don't get me wrong, a lot of time I'll go back to physical books and lot of time if a book is good on Kindle, I'll buy the physical copy as well. But a lot of times I'll go back to old books and re reread my highlights and stuff like that. So you know, I still have physical books, but that's the main reason that any new book I read, I read on here.
So that's the reason number one. Reason number two is the highlighting system. So with Kindle, what you can do is just as a regular book, you can highlight it.
And the only reason that this is beneficial because once again, you can do the same thing with book is on. You can go to cloud. kindle.
com I think, and you, you can actually access all of your highlighted notes ever. Now what I do is for those of you guys in grades and c. com for those of you guys who have agency incubator or our flagship course, obviously you guys already know this, but for all of the gradients, the students, I actually do these.
Um, I actually do these book reviews. So once I finish a book, um, I will make a little cliff notes, right? And I'll talk about my main takeaways from the book, right?
My main takeaways from the book. And then I'll go into actual, um, you know, subsections of the book. So quote from the book, my thoughts, my interpretation of that, what, how that applies to me and my business, how that applies to my life, how I, how I, what that just whatever that means to me, my notes, my thoughts about it.
And I also leave a space for the students to put their thoughts. Okay. And I print every single one of these out.
I know that all my students, uh, they print it out as well. And this is really beneficial for me because obviously when I read a book now I'm able to actually serve my customers and my students as well. And they're able to get something, you know, they're able to get something from it and they don't need to read every single book or they can read my cliff notes and if they find it super valuable on a specific book and they can tell that I've gotten some good takeaways from it, then they can go ahead and read the entire book themselves.
So as their first benefit is the fact that on demand, get a book whenever you want. Um, get a book whenever you want, on demand as many books as you want on here. Basically.
Second thing is I love the cloud highlight Kindle system. I love it. And I love the fact that I get to make all of these cliff notes for all of my students and I print them out and I keep these all around the house because the thing is a lot of time when you read a book, you will forget quite quickly, you'll forget what you, um, what you basically, you'll just forget what you learned from that book.
And that's why a lot of time it's good to go back and reread, highlighted books when you have a physical copy. But with this it's even better cause I just keep these around my house when I have like a spare couple of minutes when I'm, you know, when I have a spare couple of minutes and the normal instinct is to reach for your phone instead, I reach for this and I read this instead. And once again that just, you know, most people when they're reading, they're getting maybe like, um, a 10% benefit because I'm doing this, I'm getting a 40, 50, 60% benefit.
I'm retaining everything that I actually learned. So that's number two. Number three, and this is going to be a little bit more of a strange odd one, is the fact that it's just, I think, I think the new ones are waterproof as well, but this is waterproof and like as you know, that doesn't sound like it would be a great benefit, but it's waterproof and I get to read it.
Literally, I'll read it in the pool when I'm abroad, I'll read it in the pool when I'm abroad, I read it at beach clubs, you know, if I'm going to beach club, either it's to get absolutely turned and have tons of fun with my friends. Or sometimes I'm going to beach club chill with maybe two or three people were there for the day and I will literally go sit in the pool of the beach club reading this. And that's sort of more of a Bali vibe.
Not so much in Nikki beach. I definitely went in a sit in a Nikki beach, uh, reading this thing, but this is waterproof. Very good.
I don't know if the ch, I think the new cheaper ones, the ones that are like 120 150 bucks, I think they're waterproof as well. But the next thing is just the fact that when you sit, like, let me give you an example with this, right? Like if I'm reading, like I'm reading for example, if I'm in bed or I'm on the couch, I'm reading like that and you know, I can't one hand this and like I have to like if I'm highlighting and S you mean or I can't really lay on my side like that and, and read.
So the next thing I love about the Kindle is the fact that like, I will get into the most weird uncomfortable positions with this thing. Like I'll be on the couch and like a weird position. I'll be on like the couch in a weird position.
I'll be in like my bed, like turned to the side like this and I can one hand it and it's got these clicky buttons, which is only on the Oasis. So I recommend like, it just helps so much with speed reading. Um, it's got the clicky buttons.
So that is the second thing or sorry, the third thing and really between those three things, that's the only, that's the only thing I need to make the decision to that are those are, those are really the only things I needed to make the decision to swap over to Kindle over physical book whenever I'm actually reading a new book. The next thing is a lot of time, for example, when I'm traveling, I will have this in my hand. Like, you know, for example, I remember I was landed in Bali like two weeks ago and I was just waiting on like, uh, to go through customs.
Uh, and everyone was on their phone and I was just walking with this in my hand. I looked like a total nerd. I looked like a total loser, but I don't care.
Um, or a lot of time like, yeah, I said never. I never carry this around like on the street or anything. But like once again, if I'm waiting at like an airport or I'm in a lounge, like this is just honestly, you're just perfect.
You know, sometimes I, if I have a longer drive, um, if I have a longer drive, like for whatever reason, uh, I will take this and I'll read this in the Uber. Um, it's pretty thin, like pretty thin profile. You could technically like fit in like a jacket pocket or something like that or just keeping your car or whatever.
Um, so yeah, between those three reasons, that is why I switched over from um, physical book to Kindle for me. Things that don't work, audio books. Occasionally I will listen to an audio book of a book that I have already know and I know very well just to further sink in that knowledge.
But things that don't work well for me are audio books. I just don't retain the knowledge that well from them. So audio books don't retain the knowledge that well from them.
Um, and for me, when it comes to learning, I like to, to get the most out of a book, you know, because you want to get a high ROI from your learning time. I read it on here, I highlight things, I print them out, I look at it and I leave these all around my house. And once again guys, for those of you guys in six figure, sorry, six to estimate which was the old version of agency incubator.
But for those of you guys in grade and see part of the greed and see community and you know in our flagship course agency incubator, you guys have access to dozens of these. Um, and for those of you guys non-agency incubator, I don't know what the hell you guys are doing. Um yeah I know what the hell you guys are doing.
If you guys want to enroll, the link is right below this video. But Kindle, make notes, make my cliff notes, print them out, look at them. And then if a book is really that valuable, then I'll actually get the physical copy and I will skim read most of it.
And then once again physically highlight as well. And if I still find it that valuable. And you know, there have been six, seven books in the past that had, I've gone through this path with or in the past two years that I've gone through this path with.
Then I will also get the audio book and also listen to it to further sink that knowledge in a, but I would never listen to an audio book as if it was my first time reading that book. So ladies and gentlemen, I hope that makes sense. I hope that clears things up for those of you guys that can spend a little more, trust me and get the Oasis, this version of the Kindle freaking awesome.
You don't have to get this like dumb. You don't have to get the three G four G I, it's, it actually has come in handy when I'm abroad quite a few times, but like it's not super necessary. Um, so yeah, I would recommend this one.
It's just a clicky tap. Things are just, you know, to change a page. It's just totally worth it.
So isn't gentlemen, hope you enjoyed this video and I will see you guys in the app. Actually, no. Before that, I want you guys to leave a car.
First of all, smash the like button really, really helps and I want you to leave a comment and let me know what your favorite book is. Super, super interested and a super intrigued to hear, but apart from that, have you guys enjoyed this video? And I'll see you guys in the next one.
