I'm Chris Hansen could two unsolved cases finally be be closed we've got new details on two sets of human remains just found in Kansas City I mean when you look up that hill to me I mean when I look at it it's an entrance to Hell a walk through the woods leads to a Grizzly find did you know it was a skull immediately yeah two sets of human remains in one location we are not at this time able to determine if it is male or female could the discovery finally mean answers for these grieving families
resolution for two of The Biggest Mysteries Ever covered on crime watch Daily everybody always said when they found one they would find both all right a year ago Ronda Beckford and Jamie runions had never met today they call themselves family we've been brought together by our girls our girls brought us together those girls were their daughters 17-year-old Cara kety and 21-year-old Jessica rions our girls didn't know each other because of the age difference but they together now they're up in heaven together it was several months ago when we brought to you our investigation Into The
Disappearance of Jim and Ronda beckford's daughter Cara mommy at the time it had been N9 years since the Belton Missouri teen was caught on camera leaving school early to meet her on again off again boyfri friend Kyler UST in this recent update from our Kansas City Missouri Fox 4 affiliate an old friend of Kyler's describes a conversation he had with Cara not long after she left the school I can hear it whenever I say the words that she said I can hear her voice saying what did she say hey Kyle you want to hang out
with me and Kyler no I got my I got I got a job interview I just woke up oh okay all right we'll talk to you later that was it after that Cara was gone never to be seen again it was only a few days after Cara had filed a protection order against that boyfriend Kyler after he allegedly abducted her from work and threatened to Slit her throat Cara's parents immediately suspected Kyler might know more about her disappearance and one of Kyler's old friends Caitlyn Ferris even told our Andrea Isam he went as far as
to confess to car's murder she basically explained to him that she didn't want to be with him anymore then he said he kind of just freaked out things got a little physical and the next thing he knew is she wasn't breathing but without a body police said that was all circumstantial and for nearly a decade no significant breaks in the case then on the same night our story on Cara kety aired another Missouri girl went missing last known contact Kyler eust my first reaction was he did it again the minute they said his name I
knew it wasn't a good thing this time the missing girl was Jim's daughter Jessica ready Jessica ready go ready make she had last spoken to her daughter the night before she vanished we all had this uh group text and it was called fam bam and we would all send you know pictures and stuff before we go to bed her last picture was her and Tig her cat along with two final words Sweet [Music] Dreams the next night hours after our story on Cara aired Jessica left a house party with Kyler used and dropped off the
map when Jessica went missing I went to the police station and um I didn't know about Kyler I never knew Jessica had any connection with Kyler the first thing I saw when I Googled him was car's name as if confirming the worst the charred remains of Jessica's black Chevy Equinox were found the next day it was a vehicle We believe We may have seen during our first investigation parked at the driveway of Kyler's grandfather's house either way shortly after the smoldering car was found Kyler eust was arrested for knowingly burning the vehicle it was around
that same time that Jessica's mom picked up the phone to call a woman she'd never met I called her day one when I was I uh reached out to her and um she kind of told me what to do and I did it and we kept you know back and forth communication when you're in this situation and you don't know where your daughter is you reach out to anybody and everybody that you think can help you and I mean after 10 years we're kind of experts when it comes to Kyler but what actually happened to
their girls even with Kyler in jail on a $50,000 cash bond for burning Jessica's car and even with him allegedly confessing to killing Cara no charges have ever been filed in connection with either's disappearance and during our first investigation Lieutenant Brad SW onson of the Belton PD told us that at least for Cara that was because there was no physical evidence to even indicate fou play I want the family to get some type of resolution but at the same time I want it the right way whoever did this I will get charged someday and when
that get charge gets filed it will stick I promise but now 7 months after Jessica's disappearance 10 years after Cara's breaking news out of Missouri I'd like to remind everybody that you know we've got uh some families out there that are trying to find closure on some of the incidents that uh we know are are hanging in our community just weeks ago a man hunting for mushrooms made this gruesome Discovery just walking down the fenro there and uh looking for on the ground for mushrooms and seeing a reflection over there and 15 20 yards on
the other side of the fence was a skull police moved in after that and found another of remains not far from the first both were sent to the lab for identification and for one of these moms a very Bittersweet conclusion our thoughts of prayers go out to the family coming up it's just hard one piece of a very dark puzzle Finally Revealed and we're just going to collect the evidence to see exactly how she got there how close are we to case closed the girls are going to have the last word he didn't know who
he was messing with when he messed with our girls next week will'll Mark the 10year anniversary of Cara capet's disappearance and her family is hoping it will also Mark the year they find out what really happened to Cara and the year police finally are able to put the man responsible behind bars for good she went missing after reportedly going to meet this man N9 years after that so did she Kyler UST is now behind bars for knowingly burning Jessica Ran's car after she disappeared so where is she and where is Cara kopetsky after months of
fruitless searches 10 years of Heartache for Cara's family it seems we may finally have answers to those questions just weeks ago two skulls were found not far from where the girls disappeared once they have collected up the evidence today they'll look at that analyze what they have and then determine who's going to take custody of that uh for testing analysis and that type of thing very shortly after that announcement authorities positively ID one of the skulls and both girls families get the call they say you know the moment you feel like you're going to give
up is the moment you find answers it's just hard it's the hardest thing anybody will ever have to go through they said that the F first set of skeletal remains have been identified and they told Jamie just like that that it was her daughter Jessica I was numb and I did my best to try to comfort her it wasn't what anyone had hoped for but after nearly a year of wondering what happened to her little girl Jamie runion finally had some answers so what about that other skull found in the same location and then they
looked at me and they said the other set of skeletal remains could take up to a year to identify a heartbreaking setback but both Rhonda and Jamie believe they know what the results will be we're still waiting to get that answer and you know we feel in our heart and in our our gut that it's Cara because Cara disappeared almost 10 years ago and they've said that the other skeletal remains they're a lot older that they've been out there a lot longer and it just makes sense that the other set of skeletal remains are car
if you find one you find the other everybody that has searched that's their belief if the bones do turn out to be caras even if they don't the big question that still needs to be answered is who dumped them there in the first place we're just going to collect the evidence and just work it backwards and to see exactly how she got there and what happened to her prime watch Daily has reached out to police though they have declined to comment at this time but if you ask Rhonda and jimie there's only one person responsible
for whatever happened to their daughters Kyler UST in fact Ronda says there's something very suspicious about the place where the remains were found something that came up in a report made shortly after Cara went missing almost 10 years ago somebody spotted Kyler's truck and it was headed this way plus he has a childhood friend who he spent a lot of time with whose Farm is right around the corner from here he would have been familiar with this area Kyler e will be in court this fall to face charges for burning Jessica's car though if Rhonda
has her way he could be facing more than that when this comes out that it's Cara and we get the answer that it is Cara that is the missing piece to the puzzle that we've been looking for that is all that the prosecution has been waiting for is car which is the physical evidence this is all that we've been waiting for for now it's peaceful here it is peaceful a makeshift Memorial stands where the bodies were found crosses placed by the community for both Jessica and Cara there's a stream over there that you know has
water flowing through it and it is peaceful I mean you don't like to think of your daughter being out here but they're not anymore they're home they found them Jessica's younger sister Megan who has never spoken publicly about her loss visits the site today for the first time and what do you think about when you see this um it hurts but it's pretty she would have loved it I mean it's just so colorful and pretty and she was such like a happy person and she would just loved looking at it a final resting place of
sorts one mystery solved in another on the brink but closure it's not really closure I will never have that I have the answers and we'll have resolution we like that word we like the word resolution because car and just are still gone so we won't have closure until we're all reunited again on the other side and until they say the person responsible for taking their girls is held accountable a battle these moms bonded by tragedy will fight together we're family We Are Family we're not blood but that doesn't mean anything our girls have brought together
yeah I mean we're in a group that nobody should ever be in but we build strength from each other we're not going to be quiet until our girls get Justice and the dirt bag gets put away for the rest of his life I love you Rhonda you too Jamie in ker used is no stranger to trouble with the law in 2011 his then pregnant girlfriend filed a restraining order against him after accusing him of trying to choke her to death as well as killing her three cats in 2013 he was sentenced to nearly 4 years
in prison on drug trafficking charges before that sentencing a judge asked him if he had anything to say to which he replied eat a stake for me he's currently being held on a $50,000 cash modon up next a big mystery in a small town after a young girl vanishes and when a person of interest is caught in a lie crime watch Daily goes looking for answers the night that Lindsay went missing did you just have an unfortunate memory lab or were you hiding something coming [Music] up lindsy bomb was the little girl next door walking
home in a town where everyone knew everyone but somewhere along that trip the 10-year-old would disappear our Jason Mata has the story Chris how does a little girl vanish Into Thin Air and more importantly who was responsible was it someone she knew or was it a predator roaming the streets looking for prey oh my God he's going to kill me he's going to kill me 10-year-old Lindsay bomb stars in a haunting home video but does it foreshadow a heartbreaking tragedy Lindsay would soon mysteriously vanish while simply walking home from a friend's house you realize you
saw your daughter walk out your door just a few minutes ago and you don't know when or if you'll ever see her again it's just kind of a earth shattering moment in a small Washington Town investigators quickly amass a long list of 40 Persons of Interest those who might know how Lindsay mysteriously disappeared some of them didn't remain a person of interest for very long cuz we were able to quickly determine that they had no knowledge or involvement uh in her disappearance but exhaustive police work soon yields tangible Clues when surveillance video and Witnesses lead
cops to believe two remaining on their list are outright lying he denied being in mclary when she disappeared we would later find that was not true the night that Lindsay went missing did you just have an unfortunate memory lapse or were you hiding something Melissa bomb had moved to Washington state from Tennessee to close the door on the trauma of her divorce from Lindsay's father and McClary a small town of 1500 people west of Olympia seemed to offer the peace and hope Melissa wanted for herself and her children Lindsay and older brother Josh in in
Tennessee we lived in smaller communities and um we weren't used to living in town and mlar was a nice quiet small peaceful town the kids loved it there especially the boisterous little Lindsay so Lindsay was a spunky 10-year-old very she couldn't just slam a door once she had to slam it twice for effect full of life like from the day she was born um we used to tease her that she came out of the womb talking she was just active bright happy 10-year-old little girl waiting for her 11th birthday but Mom Melissa says a shadow
fell over Lindsay's apparently bright future when her daughter had a frightening premonition just a day before she would disappear and she said Mom I just have this really bad feeling that something bad's going to happen and I said like what and she said I don't know I just have a feeling she knew something was coming but she didn't know it and then the next night she was gone just a few hours earlier Lindsay and her brother Josh walked a short distance from their house to the home of her girlfriend Michaela and along the way a
family friend told Josh to go back after he had a fight with Lindsay over a bike and he walked in the door not 5 minutes after that mad that Lindsay left his bike Lindsay would head home shortly after upset that Michaela was not allowed to stay over at her place that night well it was a Friday night uh about 9:30 when she left her friend's home she was going to walk to her home her walk would have taken her about seven eight blocks to get to her house um she never showed up when did you
realize something was wrong once it was dark and she wasn't home and um she had left Michaela's probably 30 minutes before that I don't know I think it just kind of happened gradually Rick Scott was the unders Sheriff at Grey's Harbor County Sheriff's Office the day Lindsay disappeared at about 11 :00 her mom called 911 and reported her missing so that began a search of the local immediate area by the McClary Police Department some volunteer firemen and her mother and and some friends we would maintain that search and rescue component for the next 10 days
and that grew to involve over 240 people ground Searchers air search and rescue dogs horseback Days Later police divers desperately searched local waterways and the entire population of McCleary 1500 people became involved all caught up in the mysterious disappearance of Lindsay our job was to make contact at every residents along that route and because everyone knew everybody in this town it became personal for those leading the search me you're clearly frustrated this this during this investigation I lost 40 lbs and and it was just from the stress I I thought about it day and night
um you know when this first happened poly Thomas was one of the original investigators working closely with Rick Scott they both wondered how in such a small town a little girl could vanish with no one knowing how or why is it possible this 10-year-old just FL the scene I think within 24 hours of all that taking place I think it was pretty clear that that was not what happened so um she could not have done it alone let me put it that way um she had left her cell phone at home she had no money
on her next police launch an official criminal investigation into Lindsay's disappearance and make a disturbing Discovery there was two incidents in the week prior to her disappearing her and her friend had said that they thought somebody was following them who was this mystery person and could the truth possibly be hiding behind a man police identify as a person of interest we see you just a quick question we want to get your response to our interview with the sheriff now back to the mysterious disappearance of 10-year-old Lindsay bomb here's Jason Mata Chris Lindsay bomb's walk home
from her friend's house was only 10 minutes but somewhere in the middle she disappeared without a trace the only thing we've really been able to rule out is that she ran away while the FBI police and the Sheriff's Office continue their investigation little lindsy bomb remains missing feared murdered after eight long years her traumatized mom Melissa wonders why and she soon recalls something truly ominous less than 2 weeks before she disappeared we'd watch the movie Taken and um when it was over I remember her saying gosh mom does stuff like that really happen I said
yes Lindsay I said why do you think I get so mad why do you think I insist on knowing where you're at at all times I said because there are horrible people in this world that do Terrible Things The Disappearance of a child in that in mlar in particular had a huge impact on that entire Community it it literally took the inocence of that community and erased it that night the impact for Melissa struck far deeper it killed me it's just like a constant constant ache in your heart it just doesn't really go away um
it's just always there sometimes you notice it more than others over the course of the investigation how many Persons of Interest were developed and looked into at the height we had maybe 40 people who would have the title of Person of Interest and as they look closer police soon hear about something very strange there was two incidents in the week prior to her disappearing the girls had been up at the park in the bathroom and they said a man came in on them but then he left and took off on a bike the other incident
was her and her friend had said that they thought somebody was following them a man in a white car surveillance tape from a local gas station shows a white vehicle matching the description close to the time Lindsay disappeared but cops still can't connect any dots in the stalking story and two men continue to Peak investigators interest one they say was staying in a house near Maple Street where Lindsay was last seen walking home investigators aren't publicly naming him the initial conversation with him was that he had never left the house at night he didn't know
anything he didn't know Lindsay and let it and that was the end of it but later through Witnesses and other evidence cops would determine that his story was a total fabrication so he lied to us about what he did that night and he lied to us about where he was at 9:30 on the evening of June 26th and a similar lie was also about to surface when detectives focus on a second man on their list Tim Hartman a local business owner who made a categorical statement to police during early interviews he denied being in mclary
during the evening hours when she disappeared if he wasn't in town he couldn't possibly have been involved in Lindsay's disappearance there was just one problem would later find again video surveillance that showed that was not true surveillance footage tells no lies Hartman told police he was out of the area doing some training and was later doing an ambulance call out as a volunteer EMT but the video shows Hartman in a store in mcclear making a purchase the day Lindsay disappeared he leaves heading toward Maple Street his own shop is on the street where she was
last seen he was in mclary at exactly uh that time that she would have disappeared you searched his property as well tell me about that he was somebody who actually contacted Lindsay's mother that night and was helping her actually had her in his car and was helping her look around uh areas that she knew Lindsay frequent despite the questions surrounding his whereabouts cops are not officially naming Hartman a suspect Hartman has told local reporters he has no idea what happened to to Lindsay he claims that he had nothing to do with her disappearance that he
merely forgot that he got back that early he thought it was later than the video would show I know he's only a a person of interest it hasn't risen to uh a suspect at this point with the information and you've gleaned but it does seem odd right it remains very concerning to us that he would appear to conveniently have forgotten the most important time of the day that we that we were certainly focused on though police say Hartman was initially Cooperative with the early investigation they told crime watch Daily he no longer will speak with
detectives we wondered if he would speak with us right behind me is the jewelry store that Tim Hartman owns now to be clear he's not a suspect but his story doesn't line up it turned out to be false now is is this just an unintentional memory lapse or is Tim Hartman hiding something we're going to find out he's coming can I help you hi yeah Mr Harman yes I'm Jason mat teror with crime watch Daily we're investigating The Disappearance of ly bomb yeah than M Harman you you don't even want to know what we have
to say seriously come on let's go around you can see him right there hey he knows we're here Mr Hartman we see you just a quick question we want to get your response to our interview with the sheriff Mr Hartman the night that Lindsay went missing did you just have an unfortunate memory lapse or were you hiding something in our interview with the sheriff he's mentioned as a person of Interest again he may have nothing to do with it but just say hey this is why I I made uh either a false statement to the
police or a wrong statement instead he wants to hide behind this door and that's where Tim Hartman stayed however he has told police he unintentionally gave them false information in his case there were several things that proved not to be true with what he initially told us that being said there's no evidence to point to anybody's having any involvement in her disappearance today Hartman remains a person of interest in The Disappearance of Lindsay balb whoever did this needs to understand that we're not going to go away this case will remain an active investigation and we're
going to continue to work this until we find her and bring her home I imagine any parent has felt at least for a moment when you lose sight of your child in the grocery store or they get lost in the mall or they wander off in the neighborhood that's been going on for almost 8 years that feeling doesn't go away with time Lindsay disappeared at the age of 10 an artist provided this impression of how Lindsay might look as a teenager there's no one piece of evidence that points to an investigative path or scenario that
says well we know now that she was the victim of a stranger abduction or we know that she was the victim of an abduction by a a family member or an acquaintance we don't have anything that has allowed us to be be that focused and without that Focus you can't really clear anyone with 100% certainty wherever this pretty brown-haired brown-eyed girl is Let It Go she is long long remembered by everyone in her hometown of McLeary what do you need to crack this case we need the the hot tip to come in we need the
person who knows what happened to Lindsay to step forward and help relieve a mother who still Longs for an ending to a tragic story wish I could go back the night that she walked out the door um I heard this little voice in my head saying make her come back and I didn't do it and that's haunted me every day for eight years I have to believe that it's going to be solved and if it's not in my lifetime I promise I will hunt from the grave whoever was involved if I have to follow them
to hell to do it I will there is a $35,000 reward for information that leads to Lindsay's whereabouts and for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible if you know anything you are urged to call 1 36249 3711 coming up a convicted felon claiming to be a cosmetic dock he say when you go home put her vacuum cleaner thing on your face as well actual vacuum cleaner and suck on your on your skin all new details on the alleged con man what happens when he's confronted about his shitty past with a long list of
reportedly phony professions we're done with this conversation we're not done [Music] next his name tag says Dr Craig but he's no doctor in fact this Phoenix man is a convicted felon who was just busted by our local affiliate abc5 operating a medical clinic that offered things like botox and human growth hormone all of it without a license today we've got new details on the not so good doctor and his long history of deception here's reporter Dave bisco hi you cameraing me huh is this a button the guy in the white lab coat calls himself Dr
Craig and he runs a cosmetic clinic in Tempe Arizona selling Youth and making injections just want to clean the room and we'll get you the only problem he's no doctor in an exclusive investigation I went after the alleged phony Botox doc months ago at his office we're done with this conversation we're not done now in a dramatic new development this so-called Shady dock has finally been busted swapping his white lab coat for jailhouse Stripes there's allegations or there's concerns that we might have had a syringes being reused we don't know what type of chemicals or
substances were in those syringes and so there there's a serious health public health issue here Craig was arrested a grand jury indicting the alleged con artist on a whopping 29 criminal counts he's not a man he's a monster I found Mario deasa Just One of the alleged victims listed in the indictment he claims he went to sherf for cosmetic injections which he says left him bruised his face sunken in he says when you go home put a vacuum cleaner thing on your face as well actual vacuum cleaner and suck on your on your skin pull
on your skin because that's going to create circulation to put a vacuum vacuum cleaner on my face and the phony Dr Sher is also facing an identity theft charge for the degrees hanging in his office you heard right despite performing sophisticated procedures he's never had a medical license in Arizona he should have had BS behind all these letters in court his defense attorney asked the judge to lower sher's $20,000 Bond he's got nowhere to go and no desire to leave he wants to deal with this but the prosecution arguing that nothing good will come of
putting sherf back on the streets he seem to be honest with people or to work legitimately in the community and the judge agreed denying the bail reduction I have some concern about the duration of activities that appear to be illegal sheris pleaded not guilty to all charges including unlawful practice of medicine and fraudulent schemes and we feel like these are very very serious charges and at least for now Arizona patients will be safe what a piece of work this guy is now joining me is reporter Dave biscobing from abc5 Arizona first off Dave I've got
to say nice job exposing and helping to shut down a potentially dangerous situation here yeah we're just really glad that we were able to expose this guy and that the Attorney General's office was able to get in so quickly and shut him down and get him arrested so I know you reported Sheriff's now facing 29 criminal counts what's the status of those cases and how long could he see in prison well there's a chance that there could be even more charges coming we know that even more victims are coming forward almost every day and the
last I heard he fa faces a potential sentence of about 16 years Dave can you run down a list of some of the things that sheriff has claimed to be through the years I'm not sure I can remember them all let's just see what I can think of um Navy SEAL federal agent doctor reconstructive facial surgeon stock broker Army doctor I know I'm missing a couple but that gives you an idea it's amazing he was able to pull this off for so long and I know the Attorney General in Arizona has a message for anyone
who may have gone to Dr Craig's office for any treatments yeah if you've seen Dr Craig they want you to call the Attorney General's office and also go get checked by a real Medical Professional because they're worried about two things the ReUse of needles and they have no idea the kind of substances that he was putting inside people so there's a real concern there I have no doubt of that reporter Dave biscobing from abc5 Arizona thanks so much for that update [Music]
