so what we did was we designed an exercise it was very structured it was a team-based exercise where each team of about six students was divided more or less arbitrarily by us into three sub teams and each of those three sub teams were asked to go get information about a particular topic using a different medium of getting that information so one group had to just use Google which of course comes very naturally to them a second group were required to use a more formal information uh Source a a um Nexus Lexus some kind of systematic
information database and the third was asked to go visit a Baker Library professional and get their advice and and be steered by their advice to go get the information they needed they had to go out get information from three different sources then come back together wrestle with the contradictions in the different bits of information that they had come up with uh the sheer amount of information so they had to work together to sort it out to resolve differences to deal with group dynamics who's being heard who's not being heard and then ultimately to agree on
a a decision and a set of recommendations from there I think it's fair to say that all of them found that to be a very worthwhile experience not always easy uh but but certainly worthwhile
