[Music] so going back to the horror genre that started everything Ridley had this advantage of nobody knew how to expect and after so many years and Decades of of movies you know usually we know what to expect and when I was watching those scenes I kind of okay so we face huggers and but when this the door is closing and all the face hookers are coming and then just one jumps as the door closes I had a physical reaction oh I wasn't expecting that which was fully practical by the way it wasn't it took like
27 takes oh my God because I was obsessed with just we had to do the timing rider having this thing on a rig and pull the string and had to jump and sneak through the thing obviously everybody CG was like we could just do it sit like no we just going to get this way and that in got me going on thinking you know what fed knows that what we're looking is not like the technology is not the monster is the feeling of being isolated and that's what alien is all about right because you are
in an alien environment being on the ship different from you doing a like a horror movie like a house it looks familiar how is for you to bring back these feelings but not just doing the same over and adding something new to this it is complicated is very complicated because I I'm approached the movie more than as a filmmaker as a fan you know someone asked me like how you know every director put their imprint in it what is yours I'm like I'm not interested in making the fet alvare I don't think that's what the
way you should approach it I think I'm I'm a I'm interested as a fan what do I want to see what's what's the movie I want to see so we take the original ideas we mix them up and in your way if you're a fan you kind of enjoy the pleasure of knowing what's coming because you know a little bit more than the characters at certain points yes but and if you don't know anything it's all shock which is amazing I'm jealous of anybody can go watch that movie and not knowing what's going to happen
to these people right what the hell is this I don't know I think got Timeless thing is is I mean my favorite scene is the the aut cence this is masterful film making of relas right so you it's just so much time and nothing happens but the you are on the edge of the seat because of the expectations of something happening so it's about what you don't see most of the time of horror how do you approach that well exactly like that I think I think always less is more when it comes to fear uh
what you imagine being the worst outcome is always the scariest right so when you're in those situations where you you don't know where the monster is where the danger is going to come from it's always the most terrifying feeling because you you start to project and and and and the death the character might suffer is is what you will think is the worst death for you when the on the first movie how many minutes of the alien is in screen is seconds right you don't really see it in the whole running time so in our
movie is kind of similar in a way we really went back to the kind of hunted house Vibe of it can't wait man my honest feeling as a Brazilian is thank you thank you so much look
