[Music] har Krishna welcome to principles of Temple Administration today we're going to cover volunteer management and I'm just going to give a brief overview of this now this uh this unit is specifically set out for persons who have responsibility uh and that's pretty much anyone within your your temple or Center who has to look after volunteers now volunteers the word can range from anyone who's a temple bramer or resident maybe even yourself as a leader you're volunteering your time all the way down to persons who may be Pious from Pious background or maybe even other
Faith groups or you may even interact in deal with uh government organizations that provide some sort of volunteers for you or with you so this is a wide range of persons that you may have to deal or interact with but as we know within our our movement it's pretty much a volunteer-based organization we've got a lot of points to cover today as you can see coming up on your screen the content overview we're going to look at volunteer management planning volunteer manager role uh policies procedures recruitment induction agreements training support supervision uh reviews with the
volunteers and then dealing with problems that you might have and of course one of the most important areas is volunteer recognition our aim is that by the end of this course uh you'll understand more of what's required to engage volunteers uh you'll also be able to uh create or designate a person as volunteer manager role or V volunteer coordinator and create a service description for that person uh we're going to help you to understand what it means to create policies and procedures for dealing with your volunteers uh hopefully by the end of the course you'll
be able to recruit some volunteers and know how to do that and also deal with a variety of issues that may arise we all know that when you interact and deal with people that means that there can usually be some some issues or problems now the list that we've given you is long in and of itself but there are many many more things that could be covered in much detail that we go could go into for each of these uh each of these sections we're not going to go so deep with everything we're just trying
to give you a basic guide and some food for thought that you really look into how you deal manage um nourish and cultivate uh your your volunteers so uh we hope that this course will be of some service to you and that you'll find it enlivening and inspiring thank you very much har Krishna
