You read the best business books. You listen to the best business professionals out there. You listen to business podcasts.
But what if I told you the greatest business strategy that can ever be written for your business is found in the word and not in the world. Your business strategy is in the Bible. Hi eternal besties.
Welcome back to my channel. My name is Nyqua. If you are new and on this channel, I create videos on Christianity, entrepreneurship, lifestyle, travel.
I do it all. Today's video is going to be a business video with Christianity as well. I'm honestly just going to be sharing 10 business tips straight from the Bible for you business owners out there who want to do business God's way.
If you love this type of video, let me know down below if you would like to see 10 business strategies from the Bible. I'm just going to keep this one basically on tips that are pulled straight from the Bible with scripture application that I want to share with other business owners out there who just want to do business God's way. So, I'm not going to keep this introduction long.
Let's get straight into the video. The number one tip I have from business owners from the Bible is that God owns everything. When you operate with the mindset that God owns not only your business, but owns everything, it changes the way you run your business.
It changes the way you treat people. It changes the way you handle money. It changes the way you make decisions.
It changes your mindset. So that's the number one tip I can give to you uh from the Bible is that God owns everything. Let's go on to number two.
Integrity over income. So what do I mean by that? When you run a business, of course you want to make profit.
When you put righteousness before revenue, God will elevate the money coming into your business in ways you could never imagine. That brings me to Daniel. When he was in Babylon, his integrity was so strong.
Even under pressure, Daniel never ever compromised his faith and he always honored God. You can find his story um in Daniel 6 for what I'm referring to. And a good example of this in the modern world, just say like there was an opportunity that came along.
It was a really really maybe good opportunity, but it was it had some questionable things when it came to ethics. And as a business owner, it's so especially as a Christian business owner, it's so important to stay true to integrity. Just because an opportunity is great and you might have to make unethical turns to get there means that it's not the best opportunity for you.
And when you deny opportunities like that, even that look good on the surface. Trusting God with the opportunities would have a better outcome. Number three, rest is a weapon.
As entrepreneurs, business owners, founders, we can easily find ourselves overwork, especially just starting out. There's so many things you have to do at the start of a business because most likely you're doing it all on your own or you have a really small team. So, rest is just unheard of.
But the tip that I can give you number three from the Bible is that rest is a weapon. And I want to dive a little bit deeper into that. Rest isn't a reward.
It is a requirement. Even God, the creator of the universe, rested on the seventh day. If God rested, why do you think you should not rest as well?
Uh, one thing I would just recommend for any business owner out there watching this video is choose a day of the week. It doesn't have to be a Sunday. It can be any day of the week where you literally just rest and spend time in God's word, communicating with God, have your business meeting with God, just spend time with him without doing any work.
I know that is hard for some of us cuz we think we're going to get behind or something like that, but once again, what's done in obedience, God will bless. So rest. Number four.
So the next business tip that I have from the Bible is to plan with prayer. As a business owner, you're constantly planning. If you're not planning in your business, then you're setting your business up for failure.
So there will be yearly plans, quarterly plans, monthly plans, daily goals. You're always planning for your business, which is a good thing. But as a business owner, what I can tell you is that strategy is also spiritual alignment.
Let God into your business meetings. Let God into your plans. A great example of this is Nehemiah when he was building the wall.
At all parts of him building this wall, even before he got back to Jerusalem, he fasted and he prayed before he took action. He included God within all steps of rebuilding Jerusalem's wall. So the next time you have a quarterly planning session, open up your Bible, invite God into that planning session.
Number five, serve others through your business. This seems like it's common sense, but I feel like some business owners just in general forget that. Um, a business is supposed to serve others and not yourself.
But for this tip here, one business tip I have from the Bible is that it's not all about you. Remember God's two greatest commandments. Love God with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your soul.
And love others as you would like to be loved. Not once in those two commandments did it say, "Love yourself more than you love God. " Love yourself more than you love someone else.
No, it says love God and then love others. That also means the work that you do with your hands. Your work is the most precious thing that God has given to you on this earth to glorify him.
Everybody has to work. Everybody has to do something with their hands, with their minds. We all are called to work.
And what you do with that as business owners, our business, we have to remember that our work is not for us. One, it's for his glory. And two, it's to serve other people.
So in your business, you should be serving other people. In your business, ideally your your customers do come first. And your business, your team that's working for you do come first.
These should be put before your own interest. Think about it. The most successful businesses in the world solve real problems and serve people well.
That is the foundation of a kingdom business. So a business needs to be focused around community, not just making money. You should not be in business just to make money.
It first of all would never work out if that's the only reason why you're in business. A great example of just stewardship and servantthood is when Jesus was washing the disciples feet. And this is the ultimate ultimate example of servantthood.
We should be serving our customers. Your business is for them not for you. Number six, be generous even in scarcity.
God multiplies generosity. Give from what you have, not from what you hope you will have. And I wrote down here a really good story that you guys should read based on giving um even when you have scarce resources is the story of the widow of Zerapath.
Uh which is found in uh first Kings 17. And this is when the widow gave Elijah her last meal and was actually blessed with ongoing provision. As a business owner, this could look like giving a portion of your revenues to support a cause or a charity even before you hit your revenue goals.
This is actually something that uh I was a little bit convicted of. I was like, you know what? I I want to donate to charity.
I want to take a portion of the revenue from my brand, Dual Citizen, and give to charity, but I want to wait until I start making enough comfortable income in order to do that. And I was convicted real quick of that thought. And it took me a while to get there, but um I finally figured out, you know, even though at the beginning my business isn't making as much money um as it is now, let's say for example, that doesn't mean I need to stop or withhold my giving to other people who seriously need it.
And it's also a way for my customers to also give back as well because their purchase helps other people. So, I had to get out of that scarcity mindset because what it does tell me is that I'm not trusting God with um my uh I'm not trusting God with provision. I'm not trusting God to help bring in revenue that's going to help me with the things I need.
So, yeah, that was conviction for me. Uh and maybe that might be conviction for you as well. But yeah, number six was be generous even in scarcity.
Number seven, build for the long term. This is my seventh business tip from the Bible. Overnight success is rarely sustain sustainable.
And when you see someone who got successful overnight, usually it's not overnight. Usually they worked a good amount of time to get to that. You just seen them at their highest, but you maybe missed them at their lowest.
So, for this tip here, when I say build for the long term, I'm talking in terms of building a brand that's going to grow organically and not just building a brand based off of trends, right? Cuz trends fluctuate. They go and they come.
And if you're only building your brands based on what's the hottest thing, it's going to be hard to sustain that brand. As a business owner who is a Christian, we should be building our businesses on the foundation of Christ. And that right there is going to be sustainable because when the wind comes and the rain blows and all this stuff is happening in the world and it's impacting businesses, yours will still stand.
I promise you that. Good example of this is Noah building the ark. It took him years to build.
I don't know how I will put the years down here, but it took him years to build the ark. He didn't build it fast. He built it slow.
It took a long time. He was obedient in the process and the work paid off. Number eight business tip from the Bible is that humility leads with honor.
So what do I mean by that? As a business owner, I feel like most of us are sus susceptible to pride a lot in business. We think we know it all or we refuse to ask for help because we know what we're doing or whatever pride looks like in business.
I feel like it does creep up a lot upon entrepreneurs. But remember, God elevates the humble. Keep your heart low so that God can keep your business high.
What this may look like is a leader, right, who credits their team for success. Because without your team, your business wouldn't be where it's at right now. You didn't get this successful on your own.
You had people who helped you. And even if you are running a business on your own, you still did not do it on your own. You may have read books.
You may have listened to some podcasts or had advice from an old friend in business. All those variables all in one. You did not do it on your own, right?
So, be humble and give thanks where credit is due. Especially if you have a team. That's a huge reason why there's a lot of successful businesses out there because they put so much love and empathy and compassion into the people who are helping their bis business come into fruition.
And a great example of this is King Solomon when he became king of Israel and the first thing he asked God for was wisdom. He did not ask for wealth. He did not ask for riches.
He did not ask for um you know revenge on his enemies. He asked God for wisdom to help serve his people. That is humble.
And guess what? God gave him both. And you can read that story in First Kings 3.
Let's get to number nine. Number nine business tip from the Bible is to listen before you move. Simply don't move fast.
Move with God. And we all know God takes time. In our human perspective, God takes time.
To God, it's quick. To us, it it it will take time. So, seeking his guidance first leads to fruit that lasts.
An example of this would be just a, you know, if you're a business owner who maybe fast before making a huge business decision or you pray before hiring somebody onto the team or launching a new product. This is all about listening to God before you make decisions. A great biblical example of this is when King David, he inquired a couple a few times, I think actually every time uh if if I'm not mistaken, every time before David went into battle, he inquired of the Lord.
He prayed to God. And um the scripture that you can refer to for one of the times he did this, 1 Samuel 30:8. And number 10 is focus on eternal impact.
Like I said before, your work, I believe, is one of the biggest things that God has given us on this earth. But our work should be building us treasures in heaven because you cannot take your business with you. There's one thing you can take with you, people.
And what do I mean by that? Two things. Not only should we be as business owners who are Christians, not only should we be using our businesses to build treasures for ourselves up into heaven, but we can also evangelize through our business.
We can also use our business a part or an extension of the great commission. Sometimes the only Bible that people will read is you. And I think that also translate into business as well.
The way people see you operate and run a business through good times and high times can say a lot about who's running your business can say a lot about God. You just never know the work you do in your business. How that would bring someone to want to know Jesus more.
You just never know. And at the end of the day, that's why I say you can't take anyone with you. But using your business as an extension of the great commission, you can take people with you into heaven by sharing the gospel, by evangelizing.
You can do that through your business in multiple ways. If you don't know how to evangelize in your business or with your business without being pushy or anything like that, um, if you want to know active and passive ways to evangelize in or through your business, I highly highly recommend my brand's Bible reading plan plan on the Apostle Paul. It's a 21-day reading plan from from conversion to commission.
And it walks you through the book of Acts and First and Second Timothy, I believe. And what it does is one, it teaches you who the Apostle Paul is. You understand who he was.
Perks of living in a city. Sorry for the noise. Uh but also the same way that Paul evangelized and spread the gospel and help change people's lives through just telling his story and telling people about Jesus.
You can take that same application and apply it to how you run your business and how you can use your business as an evangelism tool. So, um I highly recommend that Bible reading plan. I will link it down below.
Just remember, just like your life, your business is temporary. So use it to make an eternal different. Use it to help you build your rewards in heaven.
And a great story about this is the parable of the rich young ruler which can be found in Mark Mark 10 Mark 10 17-22. But uh he walked away from eternal treasures because he couldn't give up his earthly treasures clung on to earthly belongings or he clung on to temporary wealth. Right?
Use your business to build and grow eternal wealth in heaven. So that leads me to the end of this video. Those are my 10 business tips from the Bible.
As a Christian business owner to another Christian business owner, put God first. Put people next and build eternal rewards in heaven with your business and use your business as an evangelism tool. So, I really hope you guys enjoyed this video.
