welcome to the module 2 demonstration on how to write a project proposal so far in module 2 you've spent time learning about leadership the importance of context and trusts and how to understand and embrace emerging Technologies like AI during the next two weeks you'll spend some time considering problems you see in your community and thinking of ways to address them or help improve them this exploration of a societal issue will culminate in an assignment to to develop a project proposal which I'll discuss during this presentation to begin I wanted to share this quote by Ken
Robinson with you the role of a creative leader is not to have all of the ideas it's to create a culture where everyone can have ideas and feel that they are valued this is the kind of culture we aim to create here at Aspire we believe that every individual possesses unique experiences knowledge and insights when everyone feels empowered to share their ideas it Taps into the collective intelligence of the group we believe in the importance of diversity of thought and want to encourage you all to believe that you can make meaningful contributions shape the future
and be a part of a collaborative effort to address complex challenges in our societies so you may be wondering what is a project proposal for our purposes in this module the project proposal will have three different parts the problem statement the project plan and the intended outcomes when you put these together you will have a project proposal please keep in mind that you do not have to actually do the project that you propose we are not asking you to carry out a project but uh we are asking you to write up the proposal for the
project for submission to Aspire during your end of module assessment so firstly um the first part of your project proposal will be the problem statement the problem statement should address each of the questions below what is the problem describe it for us uh since we may not be familiar with what the issue is who is affected by the problem why should we care about this problem who if anyone is already working on addressing the problem the next part of your project proposal will be the project plan you'll write this during week four this section is
where you will discuss what you're going to do to address the problem it's important to explain what is unique about your plan who would be helping you with the project how much it might cost to carry out the project and what the project timeline will be during week five you'll write the third section of your project proposal which is about the intended outcomes of of the project your intended outcomes should answer what are the desired results of this project describe tangible results desired for the problem identified your outcomes should be measurable and lastly what is
your quantifiable output this could be activities such as workshops campaigns prototypes Etc again the project proposal will be submitted as part of your end of module assessment which is due at the end of module 2 it will have these three components a problem statement with a minimum of 300 words a project plan a minimum of 350 words and the intended outcomes again a minimum of 300 words this project proposal will be used to evaluate whether you become an official Aspire completed alumni here are a few example project proposals that college students have submitted in the
past a project about the consolidation and evaluation of e-w in Indonesia a project to help Financial inclusion and literacy in Mexico a project about agriculture in Liberia there are many different ideas you can explore for your project proposal remember you are not required to actually carry out this project during module 2 the activities in this module are designed to help you practice identifying problems in your community speaking to people about those problems problems and thinking of ways to have an impact however you could pursue your project in the future especially if you become an alumni
and receive funding such as our social impact seed funding thank you for listening to this project proposal demonstration the project proposal is due during your end of module assessment at the end of module 2 please review your module 2 website for more details if you have any questions feel free to ask and get started on the activities to develop the different components of your project proposal thank you all so much
