terrible martyrdom all because he believed in God's promises and what did he prophesy that still impacts our lives today stay with us until the end and discover how Isaiah's message remains relevant and Powerful don't go anywhere this story might change the way you see your own Journey of Faith Isaiah was born in the mid 6th Century before Christ during a crucial period in the history of the people of Israel his birth is recorded in Isaiah 1:1 which says the vision of Isaiah son of amamos which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of
Uzziah jotham ahaz and Hezekiah Kings of Judah he was the son of os whose identity Beyond his name name is little known however the name Isaiah itself is significant as it means Yahweh is salvation or salvation of Yahweh reflecting the purpose and message he would bring to his people Isaiah lived in Jerusalem the capital of the kingdom of Judah during a period of great political instability and external threats it is likely that Isaiah began his prophetic Ministry during the reign of King zaiah of Judah a period of relative stability and prosperity for the kingdom it
was during this time that Isaiah had his vision in the temple a moment that would Mark the official beginning of his mission as a prophet the account of this event is found in chapter 6 of the book of Isaiah and offers a fascinating insight into the prophet's spiritual experience the vision occurred in the year of King uzziah's death at time of transition and uncertainty for the people of Judah Isaiah recounts that he was in the temple likely engaged in some sort of religious activity or worship when he had an extraordinary experience he describes seeing the
Lord Seated on a high and exalted throne with the lower part of his robe filling the temple Angelic beings called seraphim were around the throne calling out to one another holy holy holy is the Lord Almighty the whole earth is full of his glory faced with this Majestic and sacred Vision Isaiah found himself overwhelmed with a deep sense of fear and inadequacy he acknowledged his own sinfulness and the sinfulness of the people around him confessing woe to me I am ruined for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of
unclean lips and my eyes have seen the king the Lord Almighty it is important to note that the perception of God's holiness and Glory brought with it an acute awareness of human fragility and the need for purification in this moment of Anguish and recognition one of the seraphim flew toward Isaiah with a live coal taken from the altar with tongs he touched Isaiah's mouth with the coal and declared see this has touched your lips your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for this symbolic act represented Isaiah's purification and reconciliation with God enabling him
for the prophetic service to which he was being called then Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord asking whom shall I send and who will go for us and he promptly responded here am I send me this is a crucial moment where Isaiah voluntarily offers himself to be God's messenger accepting the responsib ability and the privilege of proclaiming the Divine word to the people thus Isaiah's Vision in the temple not only revealed God's Grandeur and Holiness but also deeply transformed the prophet's life and vocation it was an encounter that empowered and commissioned him for a
mission that would be marked by challenges adversities and at the same time the constant and Sovereign presence of God in his life if you're interested in this topic consider sub subscribing to the channel and hitting the notification Bell to receive more content like this it means a lot to us without further Ado let's get into the video after the death of King Uzziah his son jotham succeeded him as the ruler of the Kingdom during this time Isaiah played a significant role as a prophet in Judah jotham reigned for about 16 years after his father's death
and his rule was characterized by a per period of political stability and economic Prosperity inherited in part from Mah's Reign during this period Isaiah continued to Proclaim God's messages to the people of Judah emphasizing the importance of faithfulness to God and the need to avoid idolatry and social injustice he may have also advised King jotham on spiritual and political matters seeking to influence the government's decisions in alignment with Divine principles although Judah enjoyed relative stability during jotham's Reign there were signs of tension and looming challenges on the international front the powerful Assyrian Empire was rising
and posed a Potential Threat to neighboring kingdoms including Judah internally social and economic problems were increasing and the people's faithfulness to God often took a backseat The Story begins to take a darker turn after jotham's death when ahaz his son ascended the Throne of Judah he inherited a kingdom that despite facing challenges still enjoyed some political stability and material Prosperity however ahaz soon proved to be a weak and insecure leader whose decisions would have disastrous consequences for Judah this is where things start to get complicated as soon as he took the throne ahaz was confronted
with imminent exter threats the northern kingdom led by King Pekka and Syria led by resin formed an alliance against Judah intending to overthrow ahaz and install a puppet King in his place this Alliance aimed to establish a new King in Jerusalem and replace the davidic dynasty faced with this threat ahaz became deeply troubled and desperately sought a solution instead of trusting in God and seeking spiritual guidance I has turned to diplomacy and political alliances he sought support from King tiglath pileser III of Assyria offering tributes and submitting to the Assyrian Empire in exchange for protection
against Israel and Syria as a prophet Isaiah had to deal with the consequences of these political choices he confronted ahaz warning him against relying on alliances with Pagan Nations instead of trusting in God's protection and power Isaiah tried to encourage ahaz to remain faithful to God and seek Divine guidance rather than resorting to Temporary and Earthly solutions for the Kingdom's problems it was during ahaz Reign that Isaiah received many of the visions and prophetic messages recorded in his book in Isaiah chapters 1 to5 he repeatedly prophesied about the need for repentance and a return to
God on the part of the people of Judah he denounced social injustice moral corruption and idolatry that had infiltrated the nation Isaiah warned that God's judgment was approaching because of the people's Rebellion but also offered the hope of forgiveness and restoration for those who would turn to God wholeheartedly in Isaiah 7 to2 we find the Messianic prophecy in which Isaiah 4 for told the coming of a future Redeemer Messiah who would bring Salvation and restoration to God's people he announced that a virgin would conceive and bear a son and his name would be Emanuel meaning
God With Us Isaiah also spoke about the just and peaceful reign of the Messiah who would bring deliverance and Redemption to the people of Israel these prophecies are some of the most well-known and significant in the book of Isaiah and were fulfilled in Jesus Jesus Christ The Promised Messiah despite all efforts ahaz did not listen to the prophet and formed an alliance with Assyria later this alliance with Assyria became a source of even greater problems for Judah tiglath pelisa III soon took advantage of az's weakness and demanded that he fully submit to Assyria turning Judah
into a vassel state of the Assyrian Empire ahaz was forced to pay increasingly heavy Tri rutes to Assyria and follow their orders which further undermined his authority and Independence as the king of Judah because of this ahaz also sought alliances with Egypt and Ethiopia as an additional measure of security against Assyria this decision was seen by God as a lack of trust in his protection and resulted in the prophetic message Isaiah delivered by walking naked and Barefoot this rather curious prophetic message is recorded in the Bible specifically in Isaiah 20: 2- 4 which states at
that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah son of os he said take off the sackcloth from your body and the sandals from your feet and he did so going around stripped and Barefoot then the Lord said just as my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and Barefoot for 3 years as a sign and portent against Egypt and Kush so the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the Exiles of kush young and old stripped and Barefoot with bcks beard to Egypt's shame In this passage God speaks directly to Isaiah and gives him
an unusual instruction to convey a prophetic message to the people of Judah God instructs Isaiah to remove the sackcloth from his body and the sandals from his feet sackcloth was a rough uncomfortable garment typically worn as a sign of mourning or repentance by removing these clothes Isaiah was demonstrating an unusual vulnerability and exposure Isaiah obeyed God and followed his instructions precisely walking around stripped and Barefoot this dramatic act drew the attention of the people and served as a powerful visual representation of the prophetic message Isaiah was about to deliver his bold and symbolic action did
not go unnoticed and many were led to reflect on the meaning behind that visual message Isaiah's nakedness and act of walking barefoot served as a vivid reminder of the people's vulnerability in the face of external threats and the need to trust in God during times of Crisis by walking barefoot Isaiah symbolized humility and submission to Divine will he showed that there was nothing that could hide or protect the people of Judah except their trust in God and obedience to his Commandments God then explained the symbolic meaning of this action he compared the period during which
Isaiah walked stripped and Barefoot for 3 years to the Fate awaiting Egypt and Ethiopia just as Isaiah was a physical representation of the future nakedness and Barefoot state of the prisoners of those Nations Assyria would capture these peoples stripping them of their garments and leading them into captivity exposing them to shame while Isaiah prophesied internally Judah was in spiritual turmoil ahaz promoted idolatry and worship of foreign Gods leading the people of Judah away from the true God Isaiah the prophet confronted ahaz and warned him about the consequences of his spiritual apostasy urging him to repent
and return to God however ahaz ignored Isaiah's warnings and persisted in his Disobedience the situation in Judah only worsened over time eventually Assyria itself invaded Judah devastating the country and laying Siege to Jerusalem ahaz and the people of Judah suffered terribly under the Assyrian yoke facing hunger disease and misery in the end ahaz Reign was a dark and turbulent period for Judah his misguided political choices and lack of faith in God LED Judah into a state of weakness and despair however his death did not Mark the end of judah's problems but rather the beginning of
an even more tumultuous period with his son Hezekiah inheriting a kingdom in Ruins and facing even greater challenges ahead as soon as Hezekiah took the throne he undertook a series of religious and political reforms to purify Judah from idolatry and restore the worship of the true God Isaiah supported and encouraged Hezekiah in his reform efforts serving as the king's spiritual advisor and Prophet during this period Isaiah continued to convey God's messages to the people of Judah urging them to repent and remain faithful he proclaimed God's word denouncing social injustice moral corruption and the idolatry that
still persisted in the Kingdom Isaiah also offered hope hope and comfort to the people reminding them of God's promises of Salvation and Redemption however it was during hezekiah's Reign that Judah faced an even greater crisis when sarib King of Assyria threatened to invade Jerusalem historically sarib was an Assyrian king who ruled from the early 7th Century before Christ to the end of the same Century during his Reign Assyria was a dominant Regional power engaged in various military campaigns in the region including incursions into Judah the Assyrian army was one of the most powerful and feared
military forces of the ancient world known for its discipline organization and efficiency concerned about the situation King Hezekiah of Judah initially tried to seek a diplomatic solution and negotiate with king sarib of Assyria to avoid direct conflict the bibl narrative and historical inscriptions provide details about these negotiation attempts according to the Bible in the book of Kings Hezekiah sent Messengers to King sakar seeking peace agreeing to pay a tribute in exchange for not being invaded then sarib king of Assyria marched against all the Fortified cities of Judah and captured them Hezekiah king of Judah sent
a message to sarib King of Syria in laish saying I have done wrong withdraw from me and I will pay whatever you demand of me the king of Assyria initially imposed upon Hezekiah king of Judah a heavy tribute of silver and gold however sakb was not satisfied with the terms offered and decided to invade Judah anyway this led to the Siege of Jerusalem where hezekia found himself with no escape with his attempts for peace reject and upon learning that sakib had sent a threatening letter to the city and the god of Israel hezekia was deeply
troubled and distressed by the situation he received the letter went up to the temple and read it before the Lord as he read the letter mocking God and threatening the destruction of Jerusalem Hezekiah tore his clothes as a sign of mourning and despair in the face of the Assyrian threat the act of tearing one's clothes was a common gesture in many ancient cultures including the Jewish tradition as a sign of distress mourning or repentance after this act hezekia sought Divine guidance and sent Messengers to the prophet Isaiah for advice and Direction on how to handle
the situation the prophet Isaiah received a message from God and reassured Hezekiah Isaiah delivered a prophecy that guaranteed Divine protection and the defeat of the Assyrian army he conveyed a message of comfort and divine Assurance to Hezekiah do not be afraid of the words you have heard with which the Servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed against me I will make him return the way he came he was delivering a message of confidence and hope to Hezekiah and the people of Judah assuring the king that God was aware of the blasphemies uttered by sakarin
and the threats against Jerusalem Isaiah prophesied that God would not allow sarib to achieve his goal of destroying the city stating that the Assyrian army would be defeated and would not succeed in conquering Jerusalem furthermore Isaiah reminded Hezekiah of God's promises to protect Judah and ensure the continuity of the davidic lineage he emphasized that Jerusalem would be saved because of God's love and Promises to David to strengthen hezekiah's Faith Isaiah offered a miraculous sign as proof of the truth of his words he said that as a sign the shadow on the Sund of ahaz would
move backward 10° as recorded in the Bible this sign indeed occurred demonstrating God's power and authority Isaiah's message brought comfort and hope to Hezekiah and the people of Judah in a time of great distress solidifying their trust in Divine protection Hezekiah then expressed his faith in God and pleaded with the Lord to hear his prayers and intervene for the sake of Jerusalem he appealed for God to protect the city and demonstrate his power so that all the kingdoms of the Earth would know that the Lord was the supreme god the outcome of this episode was
that God responded to hezekiah's Faith and prayer according to the Bible after hezekiah's prayers and Isaiah 's message of comfort God intervened supernaturally to protect Jerusalem this is recorded in 2 Kings chapter 19 verse 35 that night the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 men in the Assyrian Camp when the people got up the next morning there were all the dead bodies in a single night an angel of the Lord was sent and inflicted massive destruction in the Assyrian Army's Camp resulting in the deaths of 185,000 Soldiers the Angel's action is
described as being of such magnitude that the Assyrian army was utterly defeated although the Bible does not provide specific details about how this Supernatural event occurred it is presented as a Divine Act of intervention to protect Jerusalem and its people the story highlights the belief in Divine protection and the importance of faith in times of great danger the reaction of the people the next morning was one of great shock and surprise at the destruction of the Assyrian army the people of Jerusalem and their leaders including King Hezekiah felt relieved and grateful for having been protected
from such an imminent and destructive threat they recognized God's power and divine intervention as the reason for their safety Hezekiah and Isaiah worked together to restore faith and obedience to the true God preparing the way for a future of peace and prosperity for Judah later on Manasseh hezekiah's son succeeded his father as king of Judah and ruled for approximately 55 years unfortunately his Reign is remembered as one of the darkest periods in judah's history due to his severe Rebellion against God and His persecution of the faithful Manasseh reversed many of the religious reforms initiated by
his father Hezekiah he reintroduced idolatry and the worship of pagan gods in Judah building Pagan altars in and around Jerusalem Manasseh also cruy persecuted the prophets and those who remained faithful to the god of Israel shedding innocent blood and spreading spiritual corruption throughout the kingdom in this hostile environment Isaiah continued to Proclaim God's word despite the imminent danger he denounced manasseh's apostasy and warned of the consequences of rebellion against God Isaiah faced opposition and persecution for his prophecies and his faithfulness to God but remained steadfast in his mission as the Lord's messenger during manasseh's Reign
Isaiah may have suffered martyrdom due to his unwavering Faith although the Bible does not provides specific details about Isaiah's death Jewish tradition holds that he was persecuted and martyred during manasseh's Reign however his legacy as a prophet and messenger of God continued to resonate through generations inspiring faith and courage even in times of Great Tribulation another account of Isaiah's death is found in the Ascension of Isaiah an apocryphal text of the Old Testament that is not part of the Hebrew or Christian scriptural Cannon but is considered significant for understanding judeo-christian literature and theology it is
composed of various sections including Visions prophecies and a narrative of Isaiah's Ascension to heaven the story of Isaiah's death as described in this book is one of the most notable and dramatic Parts it recounts that during the reign of King Manasseh of Judah Isaiah faced great opposition due to his prophecies and his role as a defend offender of justice and righteousness according to the account Manasseh was enraged by Isaiah's criticisms and warnings as he was involved in idolatrous practices as an extreme punishment for his words and actions Isaiah faithful to the end accepted his fate
with courage and resignation he remained steadfast in his faith and continued to Proclaim God's message until the very last moment even in the face of a terrible and torturous death Isaiah did not waver in his Devotion to God and his commitment to truth as for King Manasseh despite his Reign marked by Disobedience and sin there are indications that he experienced a period of repentance in the later years of his rule according to the account in the second book of Chronicles chapter 33 manasse was taken captive to Babylon after a military defeat and there he humbled
himself before God he was then restored to the throne of Judah where he attempted to reform the religion and promote the worship of Yahweh however his repentance came too late to prevent God's judgment on Judah manasa's Reign had lasting consequences for the kingdom of Judah leaving an indelible mark on the history of God's people his legacy is remembered as a warning about the dangers of apostasy and disob obedience to God but also as a reminder of the power of repentance and God's mercy toward those who sincerely turn to him despite the numerous killings of Believers
