this Shopify store makes over $2 million a month leveraging the power of its Founder's personal brand gundry MD founded by Dr Steven gundry goes beyond just selling Health supplements they have completely revolutionized how health and wellness Brands can connect with their Audience by combining Dr gundry's Authority as a trusted expert in the space with targeted ad campaigns and value-driven educational content this brand has been able to build a loyal customer base and has been able to become a leader in direct to Consumer space in today's video we doing a full breakdown on their entire strategy
and what makes it so effective let's get right into it so here I have a full outline going over all the insights that I gathered from reviewing gundry MD's products their organic marketing their paid social marketing paid search marketing their website and more and I'm going to cover it all here but before I do here's a little more context last month gundry MD had almost 600,000 visitors on their website here you can see a breakdown of where the social traffic came from you can see that 59% % came from YouTube 20% came from next door
which is pretty unique because you don't hear of many businesses getting this much traffic from next door 13% from Facebook and 6% from LinkedIn looking at their search volume you can see that last month they had 95,000 monthly searches their overall search volume is up 1% year-over-year Dr Steven gundry is a renowned heart surgeon turned nutrition expert he founded gundry MD to bring science back Health Solutions directly to Consumers what makes gundry MD stand out compared to others in the wellness industry is their Innovative and highly effective direct to Consumer strategies by leveraging Dr gun's
Authority through educational content and longform video sales funnels the brand has built trust and credibility with its audience gundry MD also uses targeted ads with attention grabbing hooks like what a heart surgeon recommends which actually work extremely well in their space this approach doesn't stop at just ads they have a robust ambassador program that turns loyal customers into brand Advocates overall with their ecosystem and a data driven approach that they use to focus on customer retention you have a brand that has completely mastered the art of direct to consumer marketing they're more than just a
brand that's selling supplements like others in the space right so the first thing I want to go over is their products they mainly focus on selling Health supplements and they have their own unique formulations for a wide variety of different products they have probiotics prebiotics MCT supplements they have their own olive oil they've really expanded their product line and if you wanted to see other products you can go on their website but what stands out about their products is the fact that they use educational content to inform consumers about the science behind their products this
strategy builds trust and positions the brand as a credible Authority in health and wellness Dr gundry is a medical doctor so to be fair he's not like a random person advocating for like all these products like he's an actual doctor and so his medical background and expertise is Central to the Brand's identity his involvement in product development and marketing adds authenticity and appeals to health conscious consumers that is obviously a big part of you know why their products actually work and like why they have so many reviews like if you go on their website they
have plenty of reviews that have been shared by thousands of different customers if you go on Amazon they have different products that have up to 1,700 some even have 8,000 reviews and so obviously the reason why they've been able to grow like this and why they've been able to have good products that actually work is because the founder is actually in the space right and that this is his background without having a good product there's no way to really be ble to get these kind of results and these kind of numbers now moving on to
the organic marketing this is what really stands out to me the most now in the e-commerce base I am seeing a rise of founder-led Brands really brands that have a face and a personal brand built really you can see this in full effect so if you go to Dr gundry MD's YouTube you'll see that they go very big on leveraging Dr gundry's personal brand right not only across YouTube but across all their socials but YouTube is one where they have so much long form content which really gives them the opportunity to educate and really build
a deep relationship with their audience I believe that YouTube is one of the most powerful platforms that any business can really be active on and leverage for their business from their social traffic YouTube is their biggest Channel when it comes to paid social but also organic if we look here they have 440,000 subscribers they've put out over 730 videos and so they're constantly putting out content they're doing live streams on YouTube they're just going all in and so I believe that right now because consumers have options in terms of what brands they can purchase from
to really stand out in the e-commerce space there needs to be a much more deeper reason for somebody to buy from you besides just your products the reason why gundry MD stands out so much is because their supplements aren't anything like drastically unique like you can go anywhere to get a probiotic but when you have gundry MD a certified doctor that is putting out helpful content and information that's educating you and you're getting value from you're going to feel a lot more inclined to purchase from gundry MD than any other brand because this is a
a brand that you've gotten value from you've probably have watched one of their videos that go over the best protein that you can consume or are you eating too many apples right or all these videos that just educate you on getting the best outcome from what you're consuming right what you're putting in your body and overall health and well-being if you look at their Facebook right this is their next biggest platform first off their followers they have 700,000 followers on Facebook which is absolutely massive they also have a massive Facebook group right that has over
3,000 members I think that this is huge because building a community in our day and age is massive right what stands out to me overall about their content is a couple things right they focus very heavily on educational content across all of their channels right they're constantly sharing informational posts that cover Health topics dietary advice and health and wellness tips this approach really positions Dr gundry as a trusted Authority and provides value to their followers they have consistent engagement if you go through their social media posts their team is constantly responding to questions that are
asked by their followers which really helps with the engagement that they get across all their socials they're big on both static and video content so I believe that video content is going to be a game changer and it already is for a lot of Brands and businesses but they really leverage platforms like YouTube to take advantage and create long form content right what makes YouTube Stand Out compared to other channels is the fact that when somebody goes on YouTube they're ready to consume a long form piece of content so you can get away with having
them watch a 8-minute video a 13-minute video 17-minute video not only that most people that come on YouTube they're consuming multiple videos and so they leverage long form content on YouTube to really educate potential customers but also existing customers as well one of the last things that really stands out about them is the fact that they leverage authentic storytelling Dr gundry shares personal experiences that he's had he shares patient success stories which obviously humanize the brand and resonates with the followers making their content more relatable and impactful all these strategies have contributed to Dr G's
substantial online presence and the growth of his brand through organic social media efforts I believe that founder-led Brands like this will dominate different categories across the e-commerce base right people are a lot more inclined to buy from somebody that they can like and Trust compared to somebody that you know or a brand that they don't know about at all and so I think that this is going to be a complete Game Changer and we're going to see more and more of this as we continue to go in the space and so those are some of
the main kind of key takeaways that I got from their organic marketing now moving on they're obviously leveraging their organic content and organic marketing to Leverage The Organic reach but then they're also leveraging paid social ads I had a look at the ads that they're running on meta and on meta they're running a combination of different video creatives but also different static creatives now just a brief look at their creatives on meta this is one of their Pages here Dr gundry energy and health and here's another one gundry MD one of the main things that
stood out to me is the hooks that they use in their videos right so they use like these different like images for their thumbnails but also like these different captivating hooks like for example watch what beans do to your belly and then they'll start off the video with like this watch what beans do to your belly traditional cultures so they really use like a hook that really baits you in at the beginning and then gets you to watch the rest of the ad and they do this very constantly right look at this don't eat potatoes
in 2024 before watching this or can't fit in those jeans can't fit in those jeans be careful with beans all right let's talk about the overview of beans and what happens when you you eat a lot of beans if you look at this page here they have this this take here don't cook with olive oil until you've seen this don't cook with olive oil until you've seen this I'm Chef Kelly today so they have like these very interesting hooks like that just make you want to watch a video right do not take apple cider vinegar
like if somebody sees this headline on a video this is going to make them want to know why right because it's one of those things that's just very intriguing and just captures your attention they're doing an incredible job across all their ads across paid social they have ads that are tailored to attract new people to want to learn more about you know Dr gundry and his messaging and his products and they also have ads that are more tailored towards you know re-engaging existing users that have visited the website you know they have more product specific
ads that are more direct you'll notice a trend though with their paid social ads they focus on educational content so just like their organic marketing with their ads they also focus on education as well they have targeted ads that really focus on having these compelling hooks such as what a heart surgeon recommends and some of the other ones that we saw like don't eat this until you see this right things like that they have consistent engagement they're actively engaging with all their ads as well answering questions their comments Etc and they also leverage authentic storytelling
so I think this was what really makes them stand out and so they're taking a very similar approach with their paid social marketing as they are with their organic marketing right I also took the time to review their YouTube ads as well they're pretty active on YouTube and what stands out to me in the first place is that with YouTube they're leveraging both YouTube long form content and also YouTube shorts right you'll notice that across YouTube it's a very similar Trend right for example this video starts off with don't eat rice until you watch this
or here's another one buyers beware harmful ingredients in common health foods so it's like big claims that they use and like these really intriguing hooks across the board to get you to watch the video and then they focus on education right after and so there's a consistent Trend in terms of like what they're doing across all paid social now these are some of the main takeaways that I got from their paid social ads if you're an e-commerce business and you're looking to get help with growing your business whether it's with paid social ads or paid

of ads that you can run across Google you'll notice that for their products they don't have your typical plain white background ads like everybody else does if you go on Google and you type in probiotics for gut health you'll notice that there's a lot of different brands and businesses that just have their products on a plain white background however for them they understand that in order to stand out you need to have something that makes your shopping listings stand out and so for them they're using like these unique colored backgrounds for all their products so
that's one thing that really stood out to me and again this may not seem like a big deal but there's a reason why a business of this size is taking a time to strategically find ways to make their Google shopping listings Stand Out compared to the other competitors right this is something that we do for all the e-commerce businesses that we work with and this is something that we see consistently work well moving on to the research ads I pulled up examples of three different ads that I came across and so some of the main
highlights that I came across is that the ad copy use on Google Google search ads really focuses on key benefits such as improving digestion reducing bloating and supporting weight management their messaging is crystal clear and it's solution focused and it's tied to Consumer pain points they also have authority driven messaging and so the ads leverage Dr gun's reputation as a health expert they use phrases like Dr gundi recommended to build trust and credibility while setting them apart from other competitors they leverage promotions and discounts they also have educational hooks things like unique ad features like
what gut type are you which engages users by combining product promotions with valuable insights which overall just make their ads a lot more interactive and informative their ads on Google leverage targeted keywords that's really what they focus on targeting right they're not just running random ads but they also leverage benefit driven messaging Authority focused branding and strategic promotions to capture users looking for trusted health and wellness Solutions these are some of the main takeaways from their Google shopping and search ads I really focused on these because when it comes to ads on Google Google shopping
and search for e-commerce is like where majority of the focuses usually is and where majority of the volume and sales usually come from again I'm very confident that they're running Google display ads as well because I've came across and gotten hit with their Google display ads for the sake of at least this video I'm mainly going to focus on covering their Google shopping and search ads and so those are some of the main takeaways that I got from their overall paid search efforts now the next thing I want to cover is gundry MD's offers you'll
notice that when you go to the website and you go to purchase a product you can just purchase one bottle mod of any of their supplements as is you can get a discount by purchasing three or purchasing six or the other option is if you want a discount on purchasing one you can set up an account and subscribe and this is really where they push everybody to they have a whole page dedicated to setting up your health account and this health account allows you to save up to 50% on overall discounts and offers you can
save another 10% with your subscription if you subscribe actually what's interesting is that the only way to subscribe is to actually create a health account on their portal obviously they give you like really good incentives if you sign up for an account but it's interesting because I've never seen any health and wellness brand only allow you to subscribe and get the discount for subscribing if you create an account they really push everybody to set up an account and I'm assuming because they have seen really good results with getting people to set up an account and
just get indoctrinated into all the benefits of having an account with them these are the main kind of two offers that I see that they are focusing on across their website moving on to their website one of the things that really stood out to me is how they go about their website really having the emphasis at the very top on making it very clear for you to be able to navigate their website based on your health goals so for example if you want to improve your brain and vision you click here and it takes you
to all their brain and vision products right they also point you in the right direction with specifically brain and vision resources right overall emphasis on education right if you go on their website you can come here and they have a whole education center that has articles recipes insights that you can use for yourself being able to go on their website and very quickly be able to to navigate the website based on your goals I thought was like super unique I think overall they have a very well put together website it's very userfriendly they have a
lot of educational content they're super transparent about their products they include all the information ingredients benefits usage instructions and more they have reviews on their websites they have testimonials you can sign up for the newsletter if you go on their website here they have this whole section where you can become an affiliate or an ambassador and it's super easy to do and so I think their website is very well put together for their category and like what they're offering I do like also how they have a seamless e-commerce experience like the whole process from going
on their website figuring out what products are the best for you and then buying like everything is super smooth and super transparent if you're in a health and wellness brand and you're looking to get better results with your brand and your business I would take the time to review Dr gundry's website and really model after them and what they're doing because obviously in order to do $2 million a month you have to know what you're doing on your website because this is where everybody's going there are more things that I kind of came across but
I wanted to focus on really just the highlights that I thought would be most valuable for you guys and so in summary gundry MD's success is built on more than just its science-based Health Products by leveraging Dr Steven gundry's Authority as a trusted health expert the brand has mastered the art of educational marketing which helps them connect and really Empower Their audience on the organic front gundry MD uses consistent value driven content across YouTube Instagram Facebook and all their channels to engage their followers educate them on health and wellness topics strengthen the community in Trust
they also leverage paid ad strategies across YouTube across meta across Tik Tok across Google they leverage targeted ads and long form video sales funnels combined with storytelling and science to really Drive conversions on their website their website really serves as a central hub for both the product Discovery but also education right like I said they have a pretty big educational section on their website this seamless integration makes them really stand out in their space because they have robust customer retention strategies but also robust customer acquisition strategies overall all this has helped gundry MD build a
loyal customer base it's all of these elements that contribute to this it's not one or the other right it's a combination of the products the organic marketing the paid social marketing the paid search marketing their offers their website like everything comes into play to really make all this possible and really get these kind of results right it's not just like one thing but I will say that the biggest contributor to their success is for sure leveraging Dr gundry himself and him as the personal brand for the business it's becoming a lot more evident that people
