[Applause] coming up on the weekend view why Megan Markle's new Netflix series with Love Megan is getting a brutal response from some viewers Jennifer Kulage shares how being a club hopping hell raiser in her 20s made her into the superstar she is today And Sex in the City's Kristen Davis reveals the surprising reason she wouldn't break up with Alec Baldwin It all starts now on The Weekend View Hello everybody It's the weekend Welcome to the weekend view So here's our first story Megan Markle is trying to rebrand herself by treading on Martha Stewart's turf in her new Netflix lifestyle series with Love Megan but critics are not sending any love back See what you think Watch You see where our rainbow is coming together here And you don't have to do a big platter of this You could do this with one small row for your kids for breakfast It's a real delight in being able to be a present parent And it's a luxury sometimes because we all have to work We all have a lot of stuff to do But when you can take a minute to just Saturday morning Yeah Flower sprinkles if we must This we're just going to put into a bag Peanut butter [Music] pretzels I know that Daniel loves peanut butter I'm still going to label this You always want to be conscious if someone has a nut allergy Great I don't think anyone in the world knows that Megan Markle has eaten Jack in the Box and loves it Funny too that you keep saying Megan Markle you know I'm Sussex now You have kids and you go "No I share my name with my children. " Do you think this is a good fit for her or there are Megan haters out there looking for a reason to turn on her I I have to tell you I watched it I binged it I know I loved it You know I I I like the crafting thing I like the the I have a chicken coupe I I I garden I do all the things And I learned how to make things by watching it I I I I thought it was great And this is not new for her for a long time She ran a website called the TIG which I actually followed and it was very good and it gave just really good tips and she gives really good tips I like it Okay I will say this I actually love Megan Markle I'm not a Megan Markle hater but I loathe this show Give us a suits reboot That's what America really wants from her So okay she taught us to put pretzels from one plastic bag to another plastic bag No but she does so many things No her average she's basically doing the TRD wife aesthetic which I always think is not super relatable Even if you have all the health in the world you're not making your own bath salts getting honey from your bees making wax candles making parfets and but also not showing the help you have behind the scenes to be able to do it all I'm not Do you Do you like Martha Stewart though I do like Martha Stewart but I think that it feels a little more authentic So I don't like any of the lifestyle shows but mainly because I need someone to remind me that whatever I'm doing is going to be fine If you're telling me to elevate or I'm going to look and compare myself to what I don't do I'm definitely turning the channel Aspirational No it is aspirational and that's beautiful for people that like that The problem is in the day and age of social media and being so busy and honestly the guilt I feel most days as a mom I don't want any reason to look and say everybody's doing it better Look at how pretty that is Like I need a throw a pizza on the counter tell me it's okay and tell me you can relate and you did the same thing too Like that's what I need You know that um the part that I don't get though and and I you know it's not just about Megan Markle it's so many we can talk about it different people There's all these people who hate Megan Markle and then go and watch the show so that they can then post about how much they hate Megan Markle If you hate her so much don't watch the show Don't talk about her You know it's all these people who like they exist just to be internet trolls That is like the people that watch this show That being said I like you know I really like um I like shows that are like the ones that Anthony Berdane used to do where there's cultural and history and food and booze and you know Stanley in this show did a great one Yeah Anthony Powrowski is doing one on Nat Gio It's great Pamela Anderson has a very similar show called Cooking with Love that I actually love It is the genre of trying to make everything beautiful and excellent but she shows mess ups like she she'll accidentally swear She'll burn her hand She'll be like "Oh I'm not actually good at cooking. " But you learn something in it This felt very like I'm putting She's not comfortable The girl has I got to tell you I mean again like I have beehives I cultivate my own hunt My my You have a beehind I have beehives I have I have beehives Um my kids and I take some of the the beeswax and we make candles Like all of this is very attainable Like you can do it Some people are so when my daughter came to the show she followed Sunny around and I couldn't figure out why Everywhere Sunny went and someone's like "It's cuz she looks like a princess.
" And like Sunny's room was beautiful and her clothes were beautiful She was to me and I've got like stains and sweats and running around she's like "Look at this mother. " But it's I love it for you I'm just saying it's it's very attainable and I and I and I think that it's it's nice to have something that's aspirational But I also loved Martha Stewart's I did Okay Completely inadequate I am sorry but Martha Stewart is in a class by her own Okay And she's earned it through decades and decades and decades Remember she you know she began doing this She was a caterer She was a caterer No one's fridge looks like Megan Markle's fridge in this show It just does not It's not her house It's someone else's house And in my next life I'm going to have a show I would watch a show No not the kind I'm going to have a show where I'm going to teach people which I used to do make papier-mâché puppets that look like my relatives I like that I did I used to do that Do you have any picture of these of puppies I I did that I did I did decoupage I did watercolors I'm very crafty It's really nice to do this Which one is decoupage Decoupage is when you put pictures on on a surface and you use glue They have sites for that these days And then you can original but papermâché puppets That was really fun to do It's nice to do it with kids also Like my kids still garden But it's it is nice the stuff that she's doing She It's very kid-friendly So you get to you can garden with your kids You can collect honey with your kids Were you doing that Joy to make money at a time when you needed to or were you doing that Giving birth to a child No I was younger than 40 I was like 28 And I gave birth to the baby and your daughter My daughter and I Yeah She has an And you did And I became very very creative I couldn't do enough I wanted to paint I wanted to sculpt I missed my Renaissance period because I gave birth to a baby That was the most creative thing I had ever done in my life Yeah But as I was saying to them that was it I I had the baby and then I said to my husband "I'm not doing this again. " That's it I'm not doing it again And I didn't Here's another story Actress and comedian Jennifer Culage very funny very funny told People magazine that she credits a lot of her success to being an outofcrol party girl in her 20s She says she always channels memories of those days into the party girl roles that she plays So can a little rebellion do you some good later on How did your 20s influence how you are today Oh so I had the opposite problem I never partied I always followed the rules But I it actually does inspire me in this sense I tell a lot of young people on their that no company no job nothing is worth missing life moments And I missed about a decade's worth of saying well I'm I'm working my way up I'm proving myself I can't leave I can't make that wedding I can't go home I can't see my And I missed a lot And I know that the north star of life is that stuff that I missed And I would say nothing is worth missing that time So I wish id partied more I'm sure she's on to something I partied in my 20s I'd be out four or five nights a week We'd go out till the bars closed and I'd somehow show up at my job on Capitol Hill at 8 a.
m Cuz in your 20s you just bounce back from it Like you're just fine And I feel like I didn't leave anything on the table like I had experiences I don't miss like I don't feel like oh I didn't go to that concert or that party I didn't date this guy So then you are more happy when you get to your 30s and I never leave my house or my dogs or my husband No I I actually um when I graduated from college because I I started college at 16 I graduated when I was in my 20s starting my 20s and I didn't go right to law school and I I I was a waitress at Fridays and I partied almost every night Um I did go to Fridays hung over and then I got fired dessert I spilled the blueberry blimpes on this guy in a white linen suit So I learned a lot from getting fired and partying But I I I definitely missed the teen partying because I was younger than the people that I was in school with So I made up for it Man party in my life I got to tell you Yeah I when I was uh when I was a senior in high school like halfway through my senior year my parents went back to Nicarawa right And they left cuz there was a government change and they left me uh in a no with a housekeeper in a fourbedroom house So I became the party house like every single day during college I stayed in Miami because of that I was like I got everything I don't need to have freedom to you know go to be cold to have freedom And then I really I really enjoy socializing I really enjoy being with people You make a good margarita I you know I I mean I I I party in my 50s and my 40s and my 30s and my 20s and my teens and I'm going to party till the day I die I I I have to say you were married in your 20s I find this conversation extremely depressing because I had to listen to all of you right now when I I got married at 22 So I I missed the entire sexual revolution that was going on in the 70s and after I got married I had a baby and then I was doing papier-mâché puppets I lost everything and I resent it We'll be right back The weekend is sponsored by Rock Skincare [Music] [Applause] Welcome back So Sex in the City alum Kristen Davis was just on Rob Low's podcast talking about when she used to date Alec Baldwin She said "Yeah she said she knew it wouldn't last but there was something she really wanted to hold on to. " Watch One of the best things about Alec Baldwin when I dated him is that he had the most incredible house Like I remember I was at work and I was like "Sir Jessica I just don't know if it's going to work out with Alec and I but I just really love that house. " Which is literally like one of the only times I have felt that way Do you know But I'm like "I don't want to break up with this person because I like his house.
" Like it's so embarrassing to say that out loud but it's true So in other words the girl stays with him because he has a nice house Can you relate So I'm watching I watched the first episode of The Baldwins and if it is the Hampton's house they show in it He still has it And I kind of get dating Alec Baldwin to keep access to that house It's amazing Good house Oh look at that house Yeah I I don't blame her for a minute Yes I will say that I I stayed with someone probably um very long because he was very good-looking Good looking I was very good-looking My mother used to say he had a face of an angel This guy um actually became an an Emmy-winning stunt man Oh but gorgeous Not only did he have a gorgeous face he had a body if he was a stunt man Yes he did But you know what we say Sunny He's not a surgeon So uh but I often uh overstay uh because I never quite get the message the relationship is done Yeah Yeah And I'm I like to say I recycle and it's like really ecochic But when you're relationships it can be like running into the same wall over and over again That's why I get dumped I stay in I stay in a relationship for my mother She was so desperate for me to be with like a nice Nicaraguan boy who was age appropo appropriate And I kept thinking you know I don't know I think this guy might be gay Well he's now married to a gay man So he's now he's he's now openly gay That mother's into I don't think this is going to work Well how long did that relationship last Uh I don't know 5 minutes But it was 5 minutes too long No really How long did you actually have Was it a long It was a few months As soon as I get the with someone I don't care if they have the nicest house I just How about you I don't have anybody like that Here's another topic Let's do this What's getting Americans in the mood these days More than half the people responding to a recent survey said that they like to watch their partner doing chores Yes Yes So does do you That's the kind of lifestyle show I like So Sunny when you've seen Manny with a Dustbuster Did that turn you on Yes I mean he fixes things Manny fixes anything He's installed a deck on our house He installed hardwood floors He sandlasted a um a fireplace He took Mhm Right It's sexy It's sexy It It is a handy man is sexy Yeah Max isn't very handy But um the one thing I will say that I didn't anticipate loving so much is he didn't grow up in a he's he's Russian and his his household his parents are great but they're just not a touchy lovey warm family and my family is all those things When he's with the kids and they're like jumping all over He loves to cuddle and touch them I just look over and I'm like he is so hot When my husband cooks for me that's the biggest turn on He made me the best steaks last night I I even thought about having sex with him but then I fell asleep But I think cooking is very sexy [Applause] He almost got laid He almost got He almost got You're looking at me Let me tell you something My husband doesn't do He doesn't do any chore He doesn't wash a dish He doesn't wash clothes He doesn't He's not handy He's not great He thinks like you know filing his nails is manual labor So if I had to wait for him to make do a chore to to have sex what is it So what is it Like she says he was the kid She gets excited What about you What turns you on He's good company to What turns me on right now is a shot I give myself cuz I'm in menopause You know people don't know that That really is a it's you two You don't know to look forward to I I my husband clean does his little chores He does And he cooks too much of stuff He walks Bernie He He does He's very good He likes you Miss Daisy He's the best It's romantic No complaints about my husband The If I have one complaint is that he doesn't know how to deal with a surface You know what I mean Like get the Windex out and do the top of the surface What you Everything is put away but the surfaces The surfaces Damn it Steve Come on Okay So you mean if I call Steve and I say to him "Clean the surface. " As she's coming home you'll have sex with him Yes Whatever And you know what I'll have sex with him on the surface We'll be right back The weekend view is sponsored by Rock Skincare [Music] So Anna was on the Behind the Table podcast with Brian this week So check it out and check this clip [Music] You went back on Celebrity Jeopardy You were a contestant and it aired last week You were on it with a vet Nicole Brown our good friend and David Friedberg who I didn't know very much about but he's a billionaire Um and and very he's like some freaking I don't know He's like a nuclear physicist or something Incredibly smart Yeah You didn't win You came in last The nuclear physicist won Yes But you lost to a vet too We have a clip of one of my favorite moments Let's take a listen Aba for 300 in a 1979 song It's the lyric that follows gimme gimme gimme Anna what is money No I'm sorry You got to be kidding me No Different song Girl calm down Give me give me give me A man After Midnight with money Yeah I mean there's some things you can't put a price on A man After Midnight with money Ken now you didn't do horribly I have to say it was really until Triple Jeopardy you were right in it And then Final Jeopardy you you bottomed out Um okay This killed me because um Okay Okay Well first let's let's for some reason I I read a bunch of articles this week weekend saying that I had threatened to walk off I want to talk about this This is crazy Even in the world of of crazy false rum view rumors this one um let's see It says the views Anna Navaro threatens to walk out during Celebrity Jeopardy rehearsals after a blunder Is there any truth to this What What is this coming from Okay How many years have I been on TV with you I have never in my life threatened to walk out And God knows I've had reason to Fair enough On this show Uh no I I mean I don't I don't do that Of course I don't threaten to walk out Listen they they are the loveliest of people at Jeopardy This is super planned and super produced They run this thing like a like a I mean like a Swiss watch Not to mention that it is all for charity right I raised $30,000 for my Estro Cares Even though you finished with zero dollars on Even though I finished for you for my humiliation embarrassment and and you know just complete failure and it two things It depends a lot depends on your knowledge Yes But a lot depends on So this is what Sunny's been saying for years She's been blaming the buzzer and we've all kind of laughed at her and rolled her eyes No no the the buzzer thing is real But then also strategy and that's where I failed I failed miserably I mean I failed at some of the questions but I also failed miserably at the end because on that last question Yes the final Jeopardy question Yes If I had bet zero Mhm you would have won I would have won But and I and I should have bet zero cuz children's books I don't have children No What in the hell made me think I was going to be able to answer a question about children's books And then um I bet and the brilliant nuclear physicist whatever he is You all got it wrong Everybody got it wrong And the answer was the very hungry caterpillar which is of course a classic You texted I swear nobody in Latin America You texted me instantly about it Uh right after you lost He's like if you ever would you know the answer to this and I knew it in seconds You did Because I've read it to my daughters a million times I grew up with it too It's been a book that's been around for a long time I think you are at a disadvantage not growing up in America Hold on We're getting a call Oh for the love of We're getting a call Hello Avet Nicole Brown How are you Hello Brian How are you Can you hear me I can You're here on the podcast right now with uh me and Anna Navaro who I've been g gently ribbing And Chaa and Chaa Chaa the dog is here as well Of course Chaa's there Of course Uh Avette how did you feel about your your celebrity Jeopardy uh performance I felt that I was very close to being a complete embarrassment The only reason I hung in there was because of Donor Q I was like "Come on you can be look stupid on television for donut shoes. " And you know Anna was a bit of a ringer because she came in with little chaa acting like she had it all together She had already been prepping and then she said "Well I don't know how I'm going to do.
