hi and welcome back to on the level leadership today i'm sharing with you a future self-guided visualization this particular visualization was taken from the book playing big by tara moore for more information on tara moore's materials books and audio files please see the link in the description down below alright let's get started find a comfortable spot where you can sit preferably a chair or a sofa you can also choose to lay down if that's more comfortable for you be sure to have a pen and paper nearby that'll allow you to do some writing right after
this visualization now close your eyes take a few deep breaths relax all the little muscles around your eyes [Music] release your jaw let your cheeks feel heavy and notice your breath as you inhale and exhale inhale and exhale now i want you to imagine your body is a body of water a very calm lake as you breathe in and release out just notice the soft current in that body of water let each exhale carry some tension and stress away again with another breath out let out any tension or stress you may have just let it
float away now i want you to bring the attention to your feet [Music] if your feet are firmly planted on the ground on the floor where even if you're in your bed i want you to imagine there are roots at the base of your feet now i want you to see those roots entering into the ground and going down deep deep deep into the earth [Music] and i want you to imagine a huge ball of bright light in the center of the earth and now take those roots and wrap them tightly around the center of
the earth you are now connected and grounded to mother earth [Music] now come back to your feet and i want you to notice if you're carrying any tightness or stress in your feet and if you are just soften them out let the stress go let a soft heaviness come into your feet now move your attention to your calves and your shins and relax that area if you need to send some breath there to loosen it all up and imagine with your exhale the stress being released from your legs soften around your knees again to remember
breathing in and out and relaxing more deeply [Music] move your attention upward releasing your quads and your upper legs [Music] imagine any tension that's there just seeping away into the ground [Music] then as you take your next inhalation imagine your breath moving into your hips into your pelvic area and imagine it opening it up as you exhale let any stress and tension melt away let your belly fully release [Music] relax your torso and your chest [Music] let any stress seep out now move your attention to your upper back and your shoulders letting any tension melt
right off and right down your back soften your neck your jaw your tongue [Music] relax your brow let go of any tension you might be holding there release your upper arms your lower arms your hands now bring attention to the spot of your forehead right between your eyes notice a beam of light stretching out from that point of your forehead notice if that beam of light has a color or a set of colors to it [Music] notice the quality of the light [Music] notice that this beam of light stretches all the way up out of
the room that you're in out above and through the ceiling [Music] notice that it actually stretches all the way up out of the building that you're in and shines into the sky [Music] i want you to imagine traveling along this beam of light [Music] start to imagine floating up and let yourself walk along that beam out of the room where you are follow that beam upward allow that beam to take you higher and higher notice the building that you were in notice how it's getting smaller and smaller from view [Music] as you continue to travel
notice the beauty of the sky and move through the clouds start to see the view of your city or the town below as you travel faster and higher start to see the whole region where you were beneath you move up and up until you can see the beautiful globe of blue and green and white and just enjoy the view [Music] travel up and up until you're in the blue black space silent velvety and dark notice that there's another beam next to the one that you are standing on another beam of light [Music] what color and
quality is that being you notice that this beam stretches all the way back down towards the earth that it stretches down towards the earth 20 years into the future 20 years from now [Music] go ahead step on that beam and let it gracefully carry you down notice the earth starting to come into focus again the contours starting to get clearer and larger in your view enjoy passing through the clouds and making your way down [Music] as you begin to get closer to earth start to notice that you are going to go to the home the
dwelling place of your future self it's you 20 years from now start to notice that the beam is taking you to meet that future self notice what part of the world you are in [Music] continue writing the beam down enjoying the views below [Music] follow it all the way until it takes you to the dwelling place of your future self and drops you off softly right there take a look around what kind of place is this what is it like there what does it feel like look around at the outside then notice that there is
a house a dwelling place [Music] make your way toward the door as you approach the door you see your future self coming to the door to warmly greet you and to welcome you and to take you in her presence let her invite you inside notice what the inside of the house looks like [Music] notice what he or she offers you to drink and what they offer you to eat they then bring you to one of their favorite spots in the house for a chat [Music] they are present and ready to listen and share with you
[Music] ask her what has mattered most to her over the past 20 years [Music] the answer may come in words or in a feeling or in a facial expression or in an image [Music] pay attention to what you're hearing what you're seeing and what you're sensing [Music] ask what do i need to know to get from where i am to where you are and listen to the answer again the answer may come in words in a facial expression or may just give you a certain feeling [Music] ask what will help me to sing my true
song listen to the answers as they may surprise you now go ahead and ask any other question anything about you that you would like to ask big or small you can ask about a dilemma a tough situation or anything else you would like your future self's perspective on then ask what is your true name other than your given name [Applause] [Music] be open to whatever surprising name shows up first here it may make sense to you now or it may not now bring your visit with her to a close knowing that you can come back
and visit them any time you desire thank your future self for the wisdom and guidance that they offered you notice that you are bringing your conversation to a close and that your future self has a parting gift that they're very excited to give you and let them bring these gifts to you [Music] make your way out of the house and find your way back to the beam that brought you here to your future self go ahead and step on the beam and let it begin to carry you upward again you can watch your home getting
smaller and smaller beneath you as you move through the clouds all the way up through the dark blue black space notice that next to the beam you're standing on there's another beam the original one that you traveled on step onto that beam and start to make your way back down to earth to present time as you travel downward start to see the earth coming into focus below you see the landscape of your part of the world your country your region see your city or your town from a bird's eye view follow that beam all the
way down back into the room where you began your [Music] journey [Music] slowly come back into your body imagine those roots disconnecting from the core of the earth to bring you back home feel your toes and your fingers and wiggle them around a little bit feel the chair or the couch or the bed beneath you when you are ready open your eyes and journal about what you saw use the following questions to help you in your journaling process write down what you experienced during that journey note any images feelings or words that you got from
your inner mentor what was your future self's presence like did they look like what was the home like [Music] what food or drink did you bring yourself write down what you can remember about their response to specific questions that you asked during the visualization what do i need to get from where i am to be where you are how can i sing my true song be sure to note any responses to any other question you asked while you were on that journey when you asked what your true name was what was the response [Music] and
finally what was the parting gift or gifts for you [Music] thank you for listening to this visualization at on the level leadership see you in the next journey you
