foreign down at the feet of Jesus and listen to his words in order to be filled with his power Affinity to have this fire in us that we can do things for him God is for us and never against us and if God is for us who can be against us in this world or in the whole universe can separate us from the love of God but it is on the condition that we stay with the main source with our God and in order to prove it to you that nothing and nobody can separate us from the love of God I would like now to open the Book of Job which was probably written as the first one in our Bibles and this book gives us very important insight into the great controversy yesterday conflict and because I know that you know this book and the story in that book very well says I will go right in the middle of the whole point principle in front of the tour Lord Sovereign god of the universe one day they were assembled sons of God like representatives of all different worlds that were in front of him God is now giving him some questions and God is in front of the whole universe proclaiming job right he's saying about him he is blameless this Jesus [Music] you know twice God himself is saying that according to the first two chapters so in front of the whole universe and this beautiful characteristic about job we have three times in that two chapters yes therefore you see God is for us not against us but now when God is for us and now in front of the whole universe is proclaiming job right bow down before God and saying Lord yes you are right [Music] will he applaud God and say yes it is foreign [Music] first job fear God for nothing you know it seems very simple and easy question but let me tell you that this is the most devilish question Satan could ask it is the worst kind of question now in order to understand what really is behind here let me tell you that the key word in that question is the word for nothing this word in Hebrew is now in Hebrew also translated differently this is for no reason does job fear you for no reason in vain for nothing for free [Music] and of course all his Empire that this is does not exist such possibility we can also translate that question does job fear God disinterestedly and what does it mean if somebody is serving God unselfishly Yuki is without interest for nothing for no reason for no gain it means that such person is serving God out of love is more do you agree with me therefore here Satan is asking the question is it really so that job is serving you out of life and of course in that question is implied no he is not serving you without interest because he wants to say that he is serving him because God is blessing him [Music] you know job is not serving you for you before that he loves usually as a person but he only serve you because he needs your blessings he is serving you because you are giving him and for these gifts well why this question is really so evil what is really attack uh by that question where you understand that option about job is not really in really understand but it's for it's against God himself you know Satan is aiming here in order to shoot there is because he wants to discredit God that he is not right when he is for us that he is justifying us and for that aim he is using this very bad question because what is attacked by that question in life of Job not his real Behavior no Satan cannot say God you see job he's a gossiper Saturn has no important he's a murderer and he is nothing like that he is not this Arsenal in hands therefore what he can do if somebody is really serving God how can Satan shoot against such persons he is attacking motives of our lives and this is what Satan is doing he's attacking jobs motives yes why he's serving God you know his motives are very selfish he is serving you because you are giving him all the blessings and you can read about that in um have you not put a hedge around him and his household in everything he has you have blessed the work of his hands however this was spread through the other lands multiplication you know even Satan has to admit that our God is a wonderful God foreign well but um now let's go back to our question why is so this question is so evil the question Satan asked God well does job serve you really out of life for nothing you know if somebody wants to hurt you and heard you badly the best way how to do it is to come and attack your motives of your actions this is the worst kind of attack yes never never never attack motifs of somebody else because if you are doing it you are on the side of Satan you need to discern motives but never attack for nothing well why it is so evil if somebody is attacking our motives because in that situation you are not able to defend yourself because who can believe you or your accuser okay who can believe you or your Accuser foreign [Music] and now from the perspective you're now starting to understand what's really going on in that great controversy here between Satan and God and between us when we are in the middle of that controversy yeah well if you go to verse 11. Satan now is asking God yes and you know stretch out your hand and strike everything he has satanas is surely curse you to your face well Satan is like asking God no take all your beautiful blessings from job and you will see when he will be without your blessings that he will turn against you are saying it was will have when he will have nothing but only you know Lord your blessings what you are giving but only your name turn against you and he will spit into your face he will curse now for the real question is when the job will lose everything will he really stay focused on God will he be faithful to him yes from all the motives a job will serve God this is the first issue here reflected in the Book of Job and it gives us great Insight Revelation into the great controversy between Good and Evil prince prince and in our lives is exactly the same issue is in front of the whole universe must be very clear from what the motives we are serving God questions are we serving God out of fear is because if I will not serve him then something bad will happen to me and I will be in Hell finally am I serving God for a reward for the eternal life which is ahead of me yes from World motives I am serving him is it for him for a person I know or for the blessings well when Satan is asking stretch out your hand and it's like everything he has you know that he is asking for very bad things so so far it's clear that job is serving God even though he is very rich you know in today's world very often rich people and those who have plenty they are forgetting God he was always focused on God even though he was very rich before Satan now tries different trick yeah and he wanted all the blessings will go out and then he can prove his point that his right that the job will not serve God out of life well what is the response of God when Satan asks such bad things in my translation is stated very well God said everything he has is in your hands let me tell you that every time I am reading that verse I am irritated I am irritated I don't like it yeah I am really upset and I am even angry Within Myself And if you understand what really is here in that sentence you will have the same feeling as I have because everything what is in US is revolting against that Satan that that statement God made no Satan is jumping against us and God is saying all right everything he has is in your hands what okay this is terrible this is the worst kind of answer we can we can expect there are we rebel against such attitude do we believe that our God is God you know yes see then how is it that this good God is leaving us sometimes not always but sometimes in the hands of bad Satan created it's terrible do we believe that our God is a omnipotent God important of course we believe that he is and how is it that his omnipotent God who can use something like that and Satan would be in the corner come back [Music] that is omnipotent God is now leaving us in the hands of evil Satan yes it deals well you know that if Satan has Us in power only bad things are happening if I would say the story if I would say the story of job in our mother language then I would say something like that imagine that you would go from this place and tell you well I have a bad news for you no your children were involved in car accidents you know I have five children feels and if something like that would happen to one of them and now in this case of job 10 children in one moment yeah and with such a bad news in your mind you are going home and instead of seeing your house you will see only a smoke going up and when you lost your property you are not going now very happily to work because you cannot concentrate well because therefore after a few weeks your boss is coming to you and saying well I am sorry but you cannot work like that for me yeah I have also my family and I have to feed them you I am sorry but you are fired to maintain my families and when you will be completely down you go to your Physicians and asking will please give me a special medicine so boost me that I can survive this terrible world and after examining you it is here well I am very sorry but I have to tell you that you have a cancer myself if you would be in situation like that someone see will you serve God or not from automotives you would serve him because you know when I was in Czechoslovakia in Czechoslovakia in my congregation one day eight years old um in the morning went to the school and the drunk driver hit her and she was dead in the spotlight and the mother was asking me where was God where my daughter died this is not easy to answer such questions of course what I said it was only where God was exactly in the same place where he was when his son was murdered on the cross you know when I was few years ago in Rwanda it was in Africa you know that they were 10 years ago big tensions and fightings between two tribes and who to work killing murdering you know by dozens of thousands um [Music] and one one day also a pastor was inviting to the church or to his families and he told them come and you will be all saved here and they were they were in the church oh nicely dressed fathers mothers children pies Minds feelings and then militia was invited foreign you know there are many tragedies in life around us one tsunami comes one tsunami comes 120 000 people dead 120 000 people there sent to events how is it that is good God how many percent God is leaving us in the hands of bad Satan they was born there was only potential stations you see that we don't like this verse 12. none of us like that because we want that if we are in troubles God is like a Superman who is coming always to rescue on in the last moments am I right therefore this is all against us now when I was pastoring in a communist country of Czechoslovakia the Communists were coming very often to me and and said you are a fool you believe in God for segregating deals and you are saying that he is good and omnipotent then how is it that is good God you you preach [Music] is allowing concentration camps is allowing torture of innocent people that women are raped women are raped mulieri song you know are abused you believe in God where is your god and they are difficult questions to answer because this text is telling us that God is in some situations not always and there is no logic in it yes it is foreign but we are living in the evil world and evil is irrational therefore we cannot find rational answers to the problem of evil but still let's now ask that question why is it how is it that God is leaving us in the hands of evil satanas maybe in order to answer that question we need to pause another question answer is and this question is how Satan can be defeated when he is against us when he's against God's justifying sentence for us for how Satan can be defeated can Satan be defeated by arguments by Logic yes or no no it's very clear why not because against each argument there is against argument we know of course Satan can be silent by arguments God will use against him of course he can be silent but after some time he would come with the question again this is no win situation logic can Satan be defeated by force by power bodies we would like that God would use force in order to defeat Satan because that he would always come and intervene into our situation and rescue us his guitar but God cannot use force in order to win the uh the whole situation must those known bodies are forces no when I was a small boy my father told me a story which is always in my mind he told me about two boys who were fighting and when they're fighting one boy was bigger stronger and older yondus value another was Tiny and younger Menorah therefore was very clear and easy to to see the outcome said yeah and after a few minutes of course this tiny boy was down and crying and now this older boy was going and boasting I won I won I am stronger I am stronger so much for it so much fortune and one elderly person was passing by you um and when he saw what happened he came to this boasting boys so much for watching and then he said to this boy are you not ashamed to beat someone who is weaker than you might say are you not ashamed to beat someone who is weaker than you said if Satan um no would see that God would use Force against him is he would be the first one who would cry against God he said you pre-made ashamed there was no stars too in Vero to beat me who is weaker than you I am too you see it's impossible to defeat Satan by force by power and possible there but we would like it when Satan is saying well stretch out his hands again how Satan can be defeated only by someone who is weaker than he is and now you understand yeah god of the same thing why this God who was The Sovereign god of the whole universe left the heaven they shall sell and came here as a fragile human being in order as a human weak person [Music] defeat stronger Satan devotar um you know this is this great mystery what also Paul is saying about those who are believing in Jesus that if we really stay in a close relationship with God then even though we are weak that and when we accept our weakness but we stay with the Lord who is strong no as I say terms you know uh this paradoxical statement in second Corinthians 12 10.
when Paul is saying when I am weak and quantopologist I am also strong 40. now Satan can be only defeated by someone who is weaker than he is this is why Jesus came as a human fragile being here and this is why we can also so defeat Satan when we stay in this close relationship with God because the victory over Satan is not by our power and strength but by the grace of God well let me give you now another question the show facilities what was left to job okay foreign let me give you some answers and let's quickly reflect on it first of all what was left to him it was his life I know that is a little bit paradoxical because when I say what was left to him when he lost everything it's uh he lost everything but still something that was left yes well first life what kind of life it would be better for him to be dead than live such miserable lives what else was left to him his wife [Laughter] better now not to comment on it yeah [Music] it was only because she loved her husband she saw how miserable life he has and that for him would be really better to be in peace that than to be in such sufferings for let's not speak bad about his wife even though she gets bad advice she was still loving him well what else was left to job Amigos and when we hear the word friends of job we have very harsh language against them is because we know that they had very wrong theology in simple language if somebody is Rich must be blessed by God or sick it must be cursed by God [Music] through that theology they were on the side of Satan important but let me tell you that you know they were really not so evil as it looks from the full size you know when they heard about jobs Misfortune cuando virus [Music] what they what they did they were running to visit him this is the best way what you can do if somebody is in trouble Against Time problems and when they arrived they tear the ropes and they were sitting with him for how long they were sitting with him for seven days for Saturdays or they told him he can listen to Sarah nothing nada you know when in my congregation that family lost this child after sometimes I went to the father and asked him well what was the most helpful in your situation when you were really completed and he told me well the best Comfort I received from one brother who came to visit us and when he saw how I am crying he hold my hands and he was crying with me and he said no one word he stayed for 20 minutes and then he left and the father told me this was the best comfort you find me Jesus all others who are trying to explain situation making even worse you know and his friends were exactly doing uh what we're doing were silent they were not saying one word there was solidar with with John yes it's Amigos foreign you know sometimes people who are in their distress speaking hard things about God can be closer to God those who are trying always to defend him foreign [Music] at the end in chapter 42 God said twice you know what your job said about me this was correct but what they said this was not corrected well therefore what was left also to job it was his voice foreign [Applause] this is a sixth point it was his trust to the Lord and let me tell you here that special it is a difficulties of life has no power to create faith in us difficult that is do you agree with me I repeat once again problems of life has no power to create faith in us but difficulties or vice problems or by sufferings of Life must problem as difficult that is you know this was uh the case of life of Job yes he could go through all this did great relationship with his God and this difficulty is now even more revealed that he is staying with the Lord no matter what yeah because like in Chapter 13 Verse 15.
