before we get started the following video will contain spoilers for both the Thousand-Year blood War Arc of bleach and the light novel can't fear your own world the end of the Thousand-Year blood War Arc left us with a lot of questions too many really to look at in a single video though the general ending of bleach is something I'm planning on discussing in the near future one lingering question that I do want to touch on right now in what I predict will be a fairly brisk video is what happens to Eisen after the war after
all we know that he was freed of his chair by yuha bark for the final battle but by the time we see him again 10 years after the vandenreich's defeat he's back in mukin as if nothing happened well at least part of the answer can be found in the light novel can't fear your own world the beginning of which acts as a direct follow-up to the Thousand-Year blood War which is exactly what I wanted to see the ending of the Thousand-Year blood War Arc is jarring in that immediately following you harbuck being killed we're transported
to 10 years later we get no chance whatsoever to catch up with anyone or anything in the immediate aftermath of a battle that we as readers have spent over 200 chapters with it's different to the Iran car Arc which also wrapped up an enormous Arc an even longer Arc with a two-chapter epilogue because that epilogue answered questions that were posed in the same time frame things like what are the fates of characters like Yamamoto and hyori following their serious injuries these were able to be immediately answered in the direct wake of the war and so
because the epilogue of the Iran car Arc as short as it may be follows on immediately after the defeat of Eisen it doesn't feel like we've missed anything whereas here there's 10 years worth of empty space here in the Thousand-Year blood War Arc we're not really given that sense of closure though seeing the future sayrete 10 years after the fact is awesome and does shed light on many of the hanging plot points from the war but there's also plenty that's missed out too and what happened to Eisen is one such point so what do we
know from just reading the source material we know that Eisen participates in the very final battle of the Thousand-Year blood War Arc helping Ichigo take down yuha Bach himself in the ruined remains of the sayrete it's here that Eisen is freed from the chair he had been bound to for the majority of his presence in the ark so far and considering how unbelievably powerful Eisen is I think many people wondered how exactly the soul society would manage to entrap him again remember that his prison bindings don't eliminate his ryatsu they only serve to keep it
nearer him so he's just as strong as he can possibly be an apparently wandering round a free man well it's difficult to say exactly what happens to him but as mentioned in my recent video looking at if he could have taken down new herbak himself for whatever reason Kyoko suigetsu's effect wears off meaning yuhar Buck can see the present and crucially the future again clearly springing into action new hubbock spreads his riyatsu across the ground grabbing and wrapping Eisen up in it again it's difficult to know exactly what happens to Eisen here what fate befalls
him but we can assume I think that you hubbock at least knocks him unconscious so as to prevent him from interfering any further but this is the last time we see Eisen until you guessed it ten years later when he's revealed to just be back in muken strapped and bound to the Cross once more so how did they get him there well let's take a look at what happens in can't for your own world to see what answers it actually provides the opening to can't fear your own world acts both as a prologue to the
light novel Trilogy and a much needed additional epilogue to the Thousand-Year blood War Arc one that helps to bridge the gap between the end of the war and the start of this new story but as the rest of the Soul Society picks itself up and licks its wounds we find ourselves outside the first division Barracks underneath which resides the central Grand and underground prison seated in his chair once again Eisen is with kyoraku Shin sweet the captain commander and the man who originally released him during the battle it does seem funny to me that the
Shinigami came to Eisen for help initially without any real incentive on their part of course as revealed at the end of the series eisen's motive is to crush those who try to control him and that included yuhabak presumably his immortality meant Eisen would have survived the collapsing of the worlds while everyone else perished or maybe everyone would have actually lived that's not something I've ever really considered before but regardless he hates the idea of yuha bark as the soul King just as much as he hated the original version of the Soul King as well and
sought to overthrow them but kioraku seemed to come to Eisen with the vague gesture of allowing him to breathe the air of Soul Society once more even if only temporarily of course there is a little more to it than that and kyoraku knows it he's playing on eisen's ambition when he says he isn't asking him to fight for them merely that they share the same interests currently and what this means is kiraku is aware of eisen's distaste for the ruling class and wants to exploit his desire to destroy them as right now that's you hubbuck
but obviously the deal didn't involve setting Eisen free in any real capacity kyoraku only had the right to use certain keys to unlock certain bindings and never was eyes and expected to be up and walking around so I wonder had you harbach not managed to subdue Eisen what would have actually happened here in the wake of yuhar Bark's death I seriously doubt he would have gone quietly in the end but maybe he would after all this version of Eisen has returned to his choir better more introspective self if isolation in mooken is allowing him to
become stronger than perhaps he relishes it however going back to a video I made I think at least a year ago if not longer back when this was coming out weekly before we knew the series was wrapping up so quickly I was kind of under the impression that Kubo was setting up Eisen to be the final villain of the series to take over the role once you harbuck had been defeated but of course that never came to pass regardless when we return to I as an in cart for your own world he's strapped to his
chair once more presumably a brand new model since the last one met such a tragic end since can't for your own world doesn't explain how they managed to find him once more it seems Occam's razor is probably the right response here the simplest answer seems the most likely that he was knocked out by yuha bark and the gote 13 somehow got close enough to him to tie him down once more before he awoke with Eisen and kyoraku in front of the barracks are members of the Omni mosquito who command muken itself as well as several
Captain level Shinigami deployed as a contingency measure perhaps out of some measure of respect kyoraku asks Eisen if he has any last words before being taken back into mukin despite knowing the danger even eisen's words possess I actually really like this idea that even letting Eisen speak could be deadly of course the novel seems to mean this in the literal sense as Eisen can still use keto which of course is something to consider but I like the notion that he's like the Devil Himself his guile and manipulation knows no bounds and it's very easy for
Eisen to get into someone's head through mere words alone regardless perhaps against his better judgment kiraku does give him the chance to speak however Eisen shakes his head merely stating there is no one here worthy of bequeathing his words to including kyoraku kyoraku replies he's glad to hear it as what has Worth to Eisen means only Misfortune for everyone else I'm not entirely sure about this characterization of eyes and to me it seems to have gone almost too far in one direction of the extreme yes we know that he thinks he's far above everyone else
to a degree but he also goes to Great Lengths to show respect even mockingly to those he believes deserve it when he was in mukin and even beyond that he had no issue talking with kulaku extensively but also with characters like rookia as well but now all of a sudden he's changed his tune he doesn't think any of these people are worthy of talking with him however Eisen mentions wanting to talk with Ichigo which would have been interesting to see as their conversation is criminally short in the battle with yuharbuck personally I would be intrigued
to know what Eisen wanted to speak to him about but he believes kisuke urahara to be too mistrusting of him to allow it to happen now supposedly the seals binding Eisen have become even stronger than they were due to some improvements made by urahara himself though Maori kurotsuchi attempt to quickly put together something better as he didn't like the thought of kisuke being the one they turned to for assistance but he didn't make it in time which again also seems a little hard to believe when this is the same guy who replaced all of his
organs within the space of an hour I guess what's probably more likely in this scenario is that Maori couldn't come up with something better than what key skate already made but kyoraku turns to the barracks and asks if Eisen is ready to go before expressing his wish that once eisen's sentence is complete perhaps he'll actually be an ally of the Soul Society truly Eisen remarks that he doesn't think kyoraku truly believes in that sentiment before questioning whether Soul Society will even continue to exist in its current form in 20 000 years however kioraku notes that
it is the gote 13's goal to ensure that it does I want to comment here as well that before the Thousand-Year blood War Arc I never really realized how much I needed conversations between these two characters I mean Eisen and kiraku are my number one and two favorite characters in the series anyway bringing them together was a stroke of Genius on kubo's part I always remember thinking that it was going to be kisuke who eventually freed Eisen from mooken to help out in the war but kyoraku is probably just as good a choice before they
leave however Eisen asks kiraku if he witnessed the original sin of the Soul Society during his time in the Royal Palace what he's referring to here is not the form of Rayo that we're familiar with from The Source material but instead you harbach's mutilated corpse left in suspended animation as the new Soul King to be honest I remember thinking back in the day that that was one question that absolutely should have been answered in the epilogue chapters considering the entire Crux of the war revolved around killing the soul King and leaving the fate of the
world in the balance it made no sense that once you hubbock had been slain by Ichigo we weren't told who was now the acting Soul King since the worlds would have been collapsing without one so we were just left to assume that they dredged up somebody from somewhere and made it work before we move on one question I do have though is this there was talk between ichibe and kiraku that if things went really badly Ichigo could be a candidate to become the soul King and they would have imprisoned him in that same horrible crystalline
state if necessary now this is obviously a video in itself for the future but I can't help but think can't for your own world contradicts itself with this how could ichigo's mere presence hold the worlds together when he doesn't have the almighty it's specifically stated in can't fear your own world that it's the power of the almighty that is used to split the primordial world into the three worlds we know today and presumably that is what's keeping them that way as well hence why the only two Soul Kings we've ever known have both wielded the
almighty being Rayo and new hubbuck but interestingly kiraku doesn't answer Eisen not necessarily because he's afraid to but because he wants to give him an answer away from the prying ears of the other Shinigami the vast majority of current day captains won't know of the Soul society's original sin the mutilation of Rayo and how that sin has been reflected today with the mutilation of yuhabakh's own body for their own purposes Eisen seems to realize this and questions whether kiraku is scared that these words which reveal the Bleak and blasphemous truth of the origin of the
Soul Society will inspire treachery among his comrades just as it did with kanamatosin it's at this point that his Sagi arrives the current Vice Captain of the ninth division acting in the stead of his captain kensei who is currently undergoing D zombification and hisagi angrily shouts that Eisen is a liar hisagi is here because this time he wants to witness the imprisonment of the man who Twisted chosen towards Darkness hisargi questions what Eisen meant as if to say that tosin's convictions were Shattered by eisen's words alone however Eisen rebuffs him saying he doesn't know what
he's talking about as by the time hisagi became a Shinigami tosun was already long under eisen's command whatever had transpired that made toasten the man he was had happened long ago seething with rager Eisen hisagi is almost ready to go for his zanpak toe but kyoraku steps in between them quietly yet sternly curaku acknowledges hisagi's anger but asks him to take a step back and hold off for now hisagi obeys the captain Commander but defiantly turns to Eisen tells him that even though he helped Ichigo to defeat yuhar buck and save them all to hisagi
Eisen will forever be the man who brought his former Captain kanamatosun to ruin Eisen remarks that forever is a very long time and even tozan's convictions didn't last forever before deciding to actually explain himself a little bit in moment where eisen's words seem to evoke a real sense of clarity which is quite surprising Eisen reveals that he didn't kill tosin during the Battle of fake karakura Town out of some misguided sense of punishing a fallen soldier who failed his master killing tosin there and then was something Eisen believes was done out of Mercy for his
most loyal subordinate Eisen believed that had he not acted soon enough unahana orahime would have arrived on the battlefield and attempted to revive the Fallen tosun but in doing so would have caused him more pain than death itself of course it was tolson's innate belief and fear that the sole Society wasn't unjust and evil organization one that allowed his best friends to be murdered by a Madman who then continued to have a seat at the table of power afterwards having become a Shinigami and then a captain toson was already at risk of succumbing to his
fear of assimilating with the Shinigami of living within that despicable Society without attempting to exact Justice for his murdered friend of living among those he deemed to be Wicked and doing nothing about it was essentially just as bad as being one of them had he survived his battle with commemora and hisagi he would have had to have spent every waking moment within that world a world he hated believing tosin possessed beautiful resolve Eisen couldn't bear to watch the man's Heart Rot away in Despair and so apparently put him out of his misery now I've said
it many times before at this point that I don't think this pairs with what Kubo had originally intended for tosin's fate it seems far too obvious to me at least that tozan died via the phenomenon of Soul suicide which is Thoroughly and explicitly explained to us in everything but the rain tosin was a hollow and unigami hybrid whose body was being held in a delicate balancing act however when he was wounded so severely by his argue that balance was no longer able to hold back the differing ryatsu inside him and the barrier and his body
broke down as a result resulting in a violent explosion it's quite literally explained step by step to us by kisuke and it mirrors almost everything tosin went through just using the vizard captains as the example instead I guess you could argue that if it was the same as the vizard captains then wouldn't they have experienced Soul suicide the moment their bodies were brought to the brink in the Thousand-Year blood War Ark sayu and Rose is blasted by Master masculine but all of these captains who are so severely injured are fairly quickly attended to afterwards Rukia
and renji come and rescue Rose and kensei almost immediately and then they get taken to isane so I think there's maybe a loophole there but regardless this is what can't fear your own world says it says that it was Eisen that finished hosen off but also can't for your own world then is claiming that Eisen just effectively nuked toson out of existence which again doesn't really make sense to me if Eisen truly respected tosun as a beautiful soul why would he just unceremoniously blow him to pieces you know body parts and all flying everywhere surely
he would have descended down to him in All His holy Glory knowing that tosin kind of looks upon Eisen as a God and maybe merely stabbed his follower in a truly respectful fashion either way Eisen tells the rest of the shinyami that one day they'll come to learn the soul Society they think they know is being shaped by dangerous illusions at this kiraku orders the conversation to come to an end and instructs the punishment Force to begin moving eyes into mukin as expected merely letting Eisen open his mouth had been a bad idea after all
leaving his Sagi shaken at the very power of eisen's speech as Eisen is Led away he turns back to hisagi and perhaps surprisingly leaves him with some words of what seemed to be genuine encouragement Eisen repeats to his Sagi the words hitsugaya once said to him that a captain swings their sword out of Duty alone and to swing your sword out of hatred is nothing but violence however Eisen assures his Sagi that what he's feeling isn't hatred towards Eisen but merely sentimentality towards his lost captain at this curaku orders them to move once again telling
Eisen to stop using his ryatsu to frighten the soldiers that are carrying him as it's revealed that all of the punishment Force members have broken out into a cold sweat Eisen comments that that's just entertainment to him as he's going to be very bored from now on so he's just having some fun before he goes deep within the darkest depths of mooken itself Eisen says he'll pass the time down in the prison by trying to guess how sole Society will have changed by the time he is finally free again as he prepares to disappear into
the darkness he leaves the Shinigami with one final parting word saying if you want to see the truth without obstruction you must struggle onwards with your own Flesh Blood and soul as a sacrifice at least that's what kanamatosin did were you not also aware of that his final words to the Shinigami seem to mean that in order to discover the truth of things you must be willing to put your life on the line and do everything in your power to chase that conviction whether that truth is the world's truth or your own personal truth such
as was the case with tosin but as he says those words Eisen vanishes once more into the darkness of muken Disappearing into the Everlasting black of the prison below and there you have it that's what happened to Eisen in the direct aftermath of the Thousand-Year blood War honestly I think it's a really good conversation Asian even if I don't necessarily agree with all of it or think all of it meshes with what we've been shown in the source material regardless it's perfectly in character Verizon for the most part and I really enjoy it it makes
for a nice personal epilogue to his character as well and of course helps to set in motion the events of can't fear your own world also interestingly with yuhar bark gone now just a corpse in stasis and Eisen gone too with him being taken to the very deepest closed off part of the Soul Society The Disappearance of these two hugely powerful figures would in 10 years lead to the opening of the gates of hell but that's it for the video guys I really hope you enjoyed it let me know what you think of eisen's small
but I think impactful moment in can't fear your own world how do you think it worked as an epilogue for his character in the Thousand-Year blood War Arc did you enjoy it do let me know your thoughts down in the comments I'd really appreciate it if you enjoyed the video make sure to hit subscribe if you haven't done already guys and give it a thumbs up to help support me and the channel but until next time I'll catch you later and I'll see you then
