Tharun Speaks
[music] >> 3 months ago, Avinash, a second-year college student, made a video saying, "My goal is to make 1 lakh rupees this year. " And today he said, "I hit my goal in just 3 months. " Now, you can be Avinash and start making money if you can follow the things that I mentioned in this video.
I'll speak about 24 different things that you can choose from beginner level to advanced level, which will take time but have a potential to make you rich. And unlike other videos on the internet, I'll give you the resources to learn. I'll tell you how to find clients.
And we'll also give you links of all the platforms that you can use to start making money. >> [music] >> Hello everyone, welcome back. And if you're new here, my name is Tarun.
And I am the brain behind some of your favorite brand channels on the internet cuz I run a marketing agency with an office in Bangalore. And a creator school helping thousands of students to land their dream creative job. So now with that being said, let's start with the first bucket.
A lot of people on the internet will misguide you into doing these things, but you should definitely avoid these. Number one, affiliate marketing, captions and subtitles, online surveys, website testing, micro forms on Fiverr or survey forms. I spoke about this in my last year's video as well, but I still see a lot of people trying this.
Please don't. Now, along with these, there are three more things that I'd like to add this year. The first one is trading.
I've made about 10 lakh rupees this year by investing into Indian markets and the US markets. But I'm still telling you that trading is bad for you because most of you won't have good amount of money to make decent returns. And if you're trading with 500 rupees and are expecting to make lakhs, you're stupid.
Number two, I really feel bad adding this to the list, but [music] this is thumbnail design. Creators and agencies always need designers to turn their ideas into thumbnails. But now with GPT, you can just prompt and get amazing-looking thumbnails like this.
[music] So if you're a thumbnail designer, save your job by upgrading to content packaging services, where you don't just make thumbnail designs, but help creators to ideate good-performing title thumbnail combinations. And then same is the case with making presentations. You can charge a lot of money if you have the knowledge about the industry.
But if you're a generic slides maker, then tools like Claude, Gamma, or even Beautiful AI, They can do a much better job than you. Now with that being said, let's get to the level one. The things that you can literally start in a month and start making money.
>> [music] >> The first one is writing. Now this is not completely replaced by AI because the actual money is not in writing. It's in doing the research and adapting the message according to the platform.
So if you're writing for social media, you need to be aware of the creator's voice and also understand hooks, body, pay off, CTAs cuz that's where the money is. Here's everything that you need to learn to get started. If you're not dumb and if you're decent in English, you can easily make around 20,000 rupees a month.
I've made a detailed playlist for you and I'll put that link in the description below. So once you learn the basics, reach out to creators, founders, agencies on the LinkedIn or through emails. In fact, even we are looking for freelance script writers all the time in my agency.
The application link will be in the description. Now the second one is becoming a digital assistant. A lot of people, especially early founders, creators, and even experienced working professionals try to find students who'll help them with daily essential tasks.
But then they fail to find [music] students for that. So if you can just reach out to them on LinkedIn, they'd love to work with you. Back when I was doing the job, a lot of my colleagues used to ask me [music] to find such students.
And the best part, these people also end up teaching you a lot of things. They also call you for summer internships if you do well and that might even get converted into a full-time job if you're actually giving your best. Now the next one is becoming a social media manager and this is [music] actually the easiest in the bunch.
You can just learn the basics of a platform like how to post, what are the best settings, the basics of [music] social media and then reach out to agencies or creators on the LinkedIn pages or through emails. If you can just spend a week searching, you'll obviously find a lot of opportunities. Now comes the classic one, short-form video editing.
And bro, this is [music] like so simple. You can learn the softwares like Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut in a week. Then make a list of some decently edited videos and replicate editing them for the next three weeks.
Put all of that into a portfolio and start reaching out to clients. [music] In under 2 months, you can go from making nothing to almost close to 30,000 rupees per month. The first example that I gave in this video, [music] Avinash, the guy who made 1 lakh rupees, even he is a short-form video editor.
And guess what? Over 100 of your favorite creators are hiring from us. So, if you feel that you're good at short-form video editing, please apply [music] using the link in the description.
The next one is creating UGC content. I spoke about this in the last year's video as well, but this got so much better basically, you [music] make videos for the brands, which in the brand can post on their social media or run ads on it. Brands want natural-looking videos, which are shot on phone from normal students like you, cuz it feels more authentic than a commercial.
You just need to learn how to script, shoot, and edit basic videos. Post them on your Instagram page and then reach out to agencies or brand managers >> [music] >> on their LinkedIn. And guess what?
My friends are building a platform where you can sign up, and if your videos just look good, they don't even need to get views. [music] They just need to look good. They will find brands for you, which will pay 2,000 to up to 10,000 [music] rupees per video.
I'll add the link in the description. Check it out. Now, if you're someone who's interested in teaching, you can also try tutoring online.
[music] A lot of you would have been done with IIT-JEE or NEET, and you'd be thinking only if you crack JEE or NEET, you'd be able to guide or teach students. But it's not true. Back when I was working at Unacademy and Vedantu, [music] I have hired over 50 educators who are from normal colleges, but were great at explaining [music] things.
So, just record a 1-minute clip where you introduce yourself and then explain a complex topic as if you are explaining to a student. Now, take that clip and reach out to HRs, managers, or senior managers [music] in these companies, and they would love to work with you. And this kind of funny, because an experienced IIT-JEE or NEET YouTube educator makes around 50 lakh rupees to 3 crore per annum.
I mean, who the would have thought that teaching would be this lucrative. Anyways, the next one is for people who are still interested in academics but don't really want to teach. You guys can also try to become SMEs at these edtech startups.
Your work would be to design curriculum, make teaching materials, and even create test series. So, just make a simple resume mentioning what subject do you like and reach out to these HRs, managers, senior managers, or even educators and teachers working at these edtech startups. You can make anywhere from 15,000 to 40,000 rupees per month.
How do I know? Because I worked in the same industry for almost 2 years. So, now these are the things that are for complete beginners.
The things that you can literally start today. But if you're ready to spend just one or two more extra months, you can upgrade to level two and make even more money every month. And the things here in level two can also end up becoming your full-time career.
>> [music] >> Welcome back to level two. Now, these things are a bit difficult to crack, but if you're prepared for IIT-JEE or NEET, these won't feel that difficult. And the best part, you can end up making anywhere from 50,000 rupees to 2 lakh rupees every month if you do [music] these things well.
The first one is making websites using AI for small businesses and creators. 1 year ago, everyone thought AI would replace web design. But something completely different happened.
Mediocre web designers are now using AI to make good websites and are selling them to the ones who don't understand tech or web design. One of my juniors is making 85,000 rupees per month doing this. I mean, his strategy to get clients is also weird.
He only works with small-scale media agencies who get clients for four to five projects, 80 to 1 lakh rupees per month. Simple. I've made a playlist for you which will give you a step-by-step guide on how to do this.
Now, the next one is making web apps using AI. But you might ask like, "Taran, what is the difference between this and making websites? " Simple.
Web design is like building a shop. You make it look good, put the products inside, and people will come to browse. And web apps are like the machine inside the shop, the billing system, the inventory tracker, the things that actually run the business.
A A of years ago, making web apps used to take months and a proper development team. But now you can build things with Bolt, Lovable, Emergent, or paired up Cursor with Cloud Code. I mean, having basic coding knowledge and sharing your work, especially on Twitter, obviously helps a lot.
And even I am planning to launch a couple of apps this year. And I'm genuinely looking for someone who can actually help me with this. So, if you're someone who's interested [music] in this, I'll put the application link in the description below.
Please apply. Now, if you're someone who's actually looking to build a career in AI, you can also get into AI training environments. Last time I was speaking to someone from the industry and they said something like this.
Over the next 5 years, a lot of these big AI companies are going to depend on India for their model training. Which means [music] they need a lot more people skilled in this space. And that's why companies like Merkle, Uber AI Solutions, Scale AI, they're all rapidly scaling their teams in India.
And a couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a hackathon by Meta here in Bangalore. And even the theme of that hackathon was around RL environments. And the winners got a chance to directly sit in an interview by Meta.
I mean, most of them are college students who don't even have a degree. I mean, this is exactly why I say that your degree matters, but your skills and projects matter even more. I'll add a couple of videos in the description below if you want to explore more about this space.
And a lot of you who are about to join colleges this year are also asking me about Scalar School of Technology, if it's good or bad. See, I'll be very honest. I've been working with them for the past 2 years and I love the way they focus on real-world AI skills and projects.
This year, even companies like Amazon, Slice, Emergent, they're all coming to hire on campus, giving up to 46 lakh per annum. So, if you're serious about core AI or software development, I think SSC is on par with some of the best colleges in the country. [music] Their usual entrance fees are around 1,000 rupees, but I'll put the link in the description which gives you 50% off.
And they also give up to 100% scholarships if you do well in the test. [music] All the best. Now comes the next thing, AI-powered drop shipping.
I mean, I spoke about drop shipping a couple of months ago because some of my seniors are building a startup which essentially is a drop shipping business. Like you choose a product, you don't manufacture it, and you get it imported from some other place, and you only take care of marketing it under your name. So, you'll need to learn how to identify the right products which have the demand, how to choose the right market for it, and how to run ads to sell it.
And there are so many tools in the market today which help you with all these things. I'll also add two more videos in the description below if you want to learn more about this. But again, I usually don't recommend students to do this first because it's not that easy especially as a beginner.
But, you can also get into making AI ads for businesses. A lot of restaurants that I know in Bangalore would love to pay 15,000 to 20,000 for one video which looked like this. And you can make these videos with basic knowledge of video editing plus having some kind of knowledge in AI tools like Higgs Field or Kling AI.
And once you learn, you can directly reach out to any restaurant in any city or even look for opportunities on Twitter. But if you don't want to do this, you can also help businesses to run ads for them. The best way to get started here is to join an agency as an intern to get some experience first [music] and then try building something of your own.
There are so many opportunities that you can easily find on LinkedIn. Got it? Now comes one of my favorite things from the list.
Long-form video editing. I've seen a lot of students who make around 60,000 rupees to 1 lakh rupees a month by just doing this. Watch this video once.
We have someone very interesting in the cohort today. He's from cohort number nine. >> Hi, I am Manoj.
I am 18 years old. I have been doing freelancing. Last month I made around 1 lakh and this month I made around 1.
2 lakhs. >> Damn. Who's saying that video editors are not making money?
Look at him. >> But again, you need to be a bit more skilled here. You need to learn the editing softwares, the basics of motion graphics on After Effects, understand the basics of design and sound design, and finally, how do you do the pacing of a video?
Anyone can make money doing this because it's completely based on the skill, how you negotiate, and who are you working with. I mean, learning how to speak in English is definitely a bonus. Now, alternatively, you can also become a motion designer to help brands make launch videos like this.
Every agency in India is dying to hire motion designers. [music] So, if you're good at this, I'll put the hiring form in the description below. You can directly apply, and my team will reach out to you.
There is also a lot of opportunities on White Hat Jobs for video editors, >> [music] >> and also Twitter and LinkedIn for motion designers. And listen, your portfolio matters the most here. So, just spend at least 3 months just making sure your portfolio is the best, >> [music] >> and you'd be surprised to see how many people would be fighting to hire you.
[music] I'll also leave some good portfolios in the description below so that you can steal like an artist from that. Got it? Let's go.
Last but not the least, in level two, there's also something called as building no-code automation tools. But I was not able to get more information on this right now. So, if you're someone who's doing this, please share your experience in the comments below.
People would love to learn it from you. So, yeah. This is level two.
All the playlists to learn will be in the description below. [music] Spend at least 2 months just learning and building your portfolio before you start reaching out. I'll also add my Discord server link in the description, [music] so you can all join it to find like-minded people.
And you can all work together in groups. So, now let's go to the next level. The place where real money is present.
Welcome to level three. Now, most of these things will take more time, effort, and more skills to crack. And I don't expect all of you to be successful at these.
But at least having an idea about what the is going on in the real world and how are people making a lot of money also gives a lot of clarity about yours. So, let's start with the first one. So, I recently met a guy called Priyam, who's running vid.
ai, and he said that they're making over 65 lakhs of revenue per month with a very small team. But how? It's cuz they've built a software which can generate AI videos for you.
And apparently, these AI videos are in lot of demand right now. I mean, this guy is just 24 years old, man. See this is what I told you in my recent video that you should try to find an idea which actually has demand in the market and you should try to build a product around it.
I mean it's not as easy as I'm telling you but the money is in the niches. So try to get as deep as possible into the micro niches. Now the second one, this is something that I do.
I run a social media marketing agency in Bangalore with one of my friends Sanco and we handle social media pages and make ads for brands. We handle everything from planning, shooting, shooting, editing, marketing end to end and we do a couple of crores of revenue every year. Basically the idea is simple.
Most of the brands don't have enough budget to build an entire social media team from scratch and some brands try but they fail because they don't have the experience building [music] pages and that's where social media marketing agencies come in. But again, I don't speak about this much because agency businesses are very easy to start but are just pain in the ass. Hiring people, keeping them accountable, making sure payments are coming on time, making sure work is getting delivered.
but yeah. Good choice of it. Now the third one is exactly opposite to the second one.
Content creation. This is much more difficult to crack because you need the right strategy, right timing. You need to be good at making videos.
You need to be good at speaking to the camera and the list just goes on. But if this works out well, there's like a lot of money to be made. I've personally seen 18-year-old kids making 10 lakh rupees a month and this is not entirely luck because like any other skill, this can be taught and learnt.
I've made a playlist for you which will give you the step-by-step guide to learn this. And I think despite the low success rate, everyone should start creating content in 2026 because even if you don't get 1 lakh followers, you learn a lot of things especially the way that you speak. I mean look at myself now versus 3 years ago.
Like a lot of things have changed. >> [music] >> Now before we end this video, I'd like to take 2 minutes and speak about how the do I reach out to clients and get them. The first way is cold outreach and a lot of people this up.
Whenever you're sending a mail to someone, make sure that you're sending a solid proof of work which [music] is relevant to that. Your previous work and portfolio are much more important than how the you write a mail. And weirdly, I've seen people sending mails to my friends that they've helped me build a 20 crore business.
I mean, when the did I even build a 20 crore business? Stop lying in your mail. The second one is referrals.
And though this is actually gold. I've closed clients over a crore last year just because of this. Basically, you deliver good work to one client and make sure that they're happy.
And they would love to refer you to more people. The third way is inbound. I make content on YouTube, Instagram, on my brand pages, and I'm also active on LinkedIn.
And sometimes I get brand managers directly reach out to me. So, if you're even freelancing, please start speaking about it online. I also did cold DMs on Instagram a couple of years ago, but it never actually worked out.
And I think now I know the reasons. The first one, if my level of work is five on 10, I was reaching out to clients who needed a 10 on 10 work. The second one, if my clients needed some kind of work, my portfolio had something completely different.
I mean, I'm not stupid, but I was very desperate for work. So, I sent the same portfolio to every single person. But after being in the freelance and the agency business for so long, here's what I've realized.
If your work is good, people will find you. You don't need to hunt a lot. If your work is okay, but if you're timely and dedicated, you'll still make it.
I'll also add that some videos in the description below which will help you reach out to more clients and close them. I can keep speaking about this for one more hour because my core work in my agency is to close more clients and get more business. Let me know in the comments below if you want me to speak more about this.
Chalo, finally. Here's the harsh truth that you don't want to listen to. >> [music] >> The real reason that you're not able to get work and make money is cuz you're just a lazy piece of I've worked with hundreds of people in the past.
I'm building two companies. I've worked at two jobs. I've worked with hundreds of brands.
And you'd be thinking that if someone is working at a big company, they'd be super talented, super smart. Most of the people who work in any industry, they're not smart. If you're even good at Clash of Clans, you'd be better than 70% people in the industry.
I mean, you should be working there. But, look at you. All you do is waste your time and then cry about, "How is everyone who's dumber than me doing so much better than me, bro?
" I mean, you know the [music] answer. So, please change. 3 months, just 3 hours every day.
It's not even as difficult as preparing for JEE or NEET. Just one core skill from the list that I told today, the basics of marketing, the basics of English. That's it.
You'd be better than 90% of the people in just [music] 3 months. And you'd definitely end up making money. Huh.
>> [sighs] >> I don't know [music] what else to say, man. Like, all the best.
