This story happened in Ohio in the8s. I was a teenager long before cell phones existed. Living with my parents near Columbus.
I don't know when the first time he saw me was, but the first time I saw him was through our kitchen window. We had a pop out greenhouse window and it was late at night. I was getting a glass of water.
All the lights were off and I just so happened to look outside and see the figure of a man outside of the window. I froze and went back to my room because I was so scared, acting like nothing happened. It may seem crazy that I didn't do more, but this was not the first time that I felt someone was watching me.
For weeks before, I knew someone was outside of my bedroom window. We lived in a one-story house that backed up to the park, so anyone could go past the back of my house to the main street. It wasn't unusual for people to be around.
For weeks late at night, I would wake up with the strangest sense of someone watching me. It was summer, so the window was open, but I had blinds blocking my view from the outside and the screen to keep the bugs out. After a few times of waking up like this, I started to hear someone touching the screen, [clears throat] like running their fingernails across the mesh.
[snorts] This happened two or three times a week, and sometimes I would get the courage to run to my parents' room, but by the time we went back, he was never there. They didn't really believe me either. This became almost a nightly thing, and I knew I wasn't imagining it.
So, when I saw him outside the window, it was almost a relief because I knew it was real and I wasn't imagining it. This went on for months until finally it started to snow and then there were footprints visible outside my window. So my parents at least acknowledged that he was real but didn't really do much.
Remember this was the8s. Then it all came to a head when I was home alone with a couple of friends getting ready to go out. My parents were away at a dinner so we had the house to ourselves.
The blinds were up on one of the bedroom windows. And as I turned around, he was standing directly in the window staring at us. He was a scaryl looking guy with bright orange dyed hair.
This time I screamed along with my friends. We ran into the bathroom, which didn't have any windows, and I finally got up the courage to run to the kitchen to call 911. The police came at about the same time my parents got home.
But there was no sign of the guy. The police basically accused my friends and I of drinking and making the whole thing up. A few weeks later, I happened to see a newspaper and stopped dead in my tracks.
There was a picture of the guy on the front page. He had attacked two girls in a gas station and ended up killing them. The police had shot and killed him when they were trying to detain him.
Honestly, I can't remember all the details and haven't been able to find the article since. I remember feeling shocked and relieved that he wasn't coming back. So, guy with the dyed orange hair, let's not meet.
[bell] While most of us will be fortunate enough to never experience the kind of horrors that we're about to talk about in some of these stories, there's a pretty good chance that most of us will experience a different kind of horror when it comes to our mental and [music] physical health as time goes on. Those of you who know me know that I've struggled with anxiety off and on throughout uh most of my life, and I'm doing a lot better now. Uh but I want to sort of I guess pass on some advice for those of you who uh might still be uh struggling like I once was.
Health anxiety uh is the worst. Uh constantly worrying about um you know if you'll get sick or not and what to do if and when you do get sick uh can be really stressful. Not to mention that trying to find a doctor that can see you in a timely manner isn't always the easiest.
I can't, I guess, speak for everyone, but I know from personal experience that when I'm feeling sick, like the last thing I want [music] to do is call around to different doctor's offices and see, you know, which ones are accepting new patients. That in and of itself can be very overwhelming. But imagine if as soon as your symptoms started, you had the ability to not only find a doctor easily, but book an appointment and see them within the next few days.
Thanks to today's video sponsor, Zachdoc, you can find a doctor that's right for you. Zdock is a free website that easily allows you to search for doctors in your area. No uh guesswork or or phone calls needed.
There are currently tons of verified patient reviews and profiles for the doctors themselves. So you can sort of get an idea of the type of person you are going to be meeting uh prior to your first visit with them. Whether it be you know mental health or you know dental work or you know skin or eye care is here to make sure that you're taken care of.
For me personally, not only did I find the Zachdoc website to be, you know, extremely userfriendly, but I was actually able to book a doctor and literally see them 2 days after connecting with them, which honestly was literally such a sigh of relief. As you can see, the website provides a calendar that shows you a particular doctor's availability, and all you need to do is choose a date and time that works for you. So, stop putting off doctor's appointments and go visit www.

And now back to the story. [music] All right, so this story happened to me a couple years ago when I was around 14 years old. At the time, I wanted to make a little bit of money for myself.
I figured the easiest way to do that was by selling some of my old toys on Facebook Marketplace. I had a pretty big Lego Harry Potter collection, but I wasn't really into Harry Potter anymore, so I decided to sell it. A few days after posting the ad, a buyer contacted me.
I remember feeling really excited because I was about to make my first real money on my own. The buyer was a man who looked kind of old, but from his profile picture, he seemed nice enough. He told me he wanted to buy the Legos for his grandson, which honestly made the whole thing seem pretty wholesome.
But as he started messaging, a few things felt off. Whenever I asked him questions about when he could pick up the Legos, he would leave me on scene and not reply. Sometimes he wouldn't even answer until I'd sent multiple question marks.
On top of that, he made a lot of grammatical mistakes, like the kind of mistakes a high schooler might make, and not a fully grown adult. At the time, I thought it was weird, but I ignored it. Eventually, we agreed to meet.
I don't remember exactly if it was at Wednesday or Thursday, but I remember I had school the next day. He said he wanted to pick them up that night. I gave him the address of a bookstore about a 10-minute walk from my house.
That way, I wouldn't have to give him my actual address. He told me that he wanted to meet at 8:30 p. m.
Looking back now, that's obviously really late for a 14-year-old to meet a stranger, but at the time, I just wanted the money, so I agreed. Still, something in my gut told me not to go alone. My dad was away on a business trip at the time, so I asked my mom if she could go with me.
She immediately asked if I could reschedule the meeting with the man. I told her that it would be fine and that the man seemed nice. Eventually, she agreed to come with me.
We drove to the bookstore, but my mom didn't want the man to see our car, so she parked about 5 minutes away, and we walked the rest of the way. I had the Lego pieces in my jacket pocket because I didn't want to carry them in my hands. As we were walking towards the bookstore, something immediately caught my attention.
Standing in front of the store was a man. He looked middle-aged, maybe older, but right away I noticed something strange. He did not look like the man in the Facebook profile picture at all.
The man in the profile picture had long gray hair, but this guy was skinny, had a buzzcut, and was wearing a sling bag across his chest. Before we crossed the street, my mom stopped me. She told me to text the man and say that I was already inside the bookstore.
She had a bad feeling and didn't want me going near him. So, I did exactly that. As we walked past the man, I hid my phone so that he wouldn't see that I was texting.
I sent him a message saying that I was already inside the bookstore and asked if he would come in. Almost immediately, he replied. He told me to come outside and he kept insisting.
At this point, it was really dark outside and barely anyone was around. The only reason I could even see him clearly was because of the street light nearby. I messaged him again and told him that I wasn't going inside.
Even though I was actually walking away toward the car, I wanted him to think that I was still inside the bookstore. He sent another message. He simply called me an idiot and added a laughing emoji.
That message really freaked me out. It felt like he knew something was off. As soon as my mom and I got back to the car, we drove away.
On the way home, she told me to delete my marketplace account and block the man immediately. When we got home, I thanked my mom for coming with me. She hugged me and told me that I should never meet someone that late again.
But the story doesn't end there. Around that same time, one of my friends was also selling Lego figures on Marketplace. He was a little older than me, maybe 16.
I told him the whole situation, but I never told him the name of the man. Halfway through my story, my friend suddenly said a name and asked, "Wait, was it this guy? " I was completely shocked.
I asked him how he knew. Then he showed me screenshots of a conversation he had with a buyer. It was the same man and he was telling my friend the exact same story that he wanted to buy Lego figures for his grandson.
My friend immediately messaged him and said that someone had already bought the figures. That wasn't true. He just didn't want to deal with the guy anymore.
After that, neither of us ever heard from the man again. I don't know what he's doing now. But my gut feeling tells me that whoever that man really was, he definitely wasn't trying to buy Legos for his grandson.
In my freshman year of high school, I was a part of JROTC, a program in the US that teaches high schoolers about the military. Students were required to join a team like drill or marksmanship. And we traveled to schools across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho to compete.
We spent so much time together practicing on bus rides and on field trips that we all grew close, especially within our own school. But sometimes that friendship isn't a good thing. There was a junior who helped me rank up and made me his assistant.
We were close friends, hanging out often because we were in the same club. Then things got weird. He started lingering too much, leaving gifts in my backpack, notes in my locker, and snacks on my desk.
The gifts and snacks could have been passed off as friendly. But the notes were unsettling. I burned them years ago, but I remember some of them.
I wish other people liked me like you do. you care about me so much. Or I saw you walking with some kids yesterday.
Who were they? He was always close behind me and it started feeling like I had eyes in the back of my head. The notes escalated into poems that seemed sweet on the surface but were clearly possessive.
You're mine. You're made for me and I for you. He also started putting things in my backpack that I never mentioned needing.
Gifts I hated because I didn't want anyone to think I expected them, but he always knew. We traveled to a competition across town, an overnight stay where we slept in classrooms. By then, I'd confided in one other girl, but I was terrified no one would believe me.
He followed me everywhere and I didn't sleep that night knowing that he was just across the hall. The bus ride home was terrifying. My phone was at 80% when we left, but after a 15-minute ride, it was dead.
So was my portable charger. I still didn't know if that was a coincidence or if he had some play in it. But I was stranded.
I couldn't drive yet, so I depended on my parents who I couldn't reach. Desperate, I accepted a ride from him, even though it was a terrible idea. Almost everyone else had already left, so what else could I do?
He knew where I lived. That's all I could think about that night. And worse, he lived a block away from me.
For about a week, things seemed to go back to normal. Then he got bold and asked me out over text. I politely declined.
I was in a relationship, and he knew it. He responded by lying, telling me he had brain cancer and that I was his quote unquote last wish. Obviously, it was BS.
After that, I blocked and ignored him as best as I could. The gifts and notes continued, but the notes grew more possessive and scary. If you really cared about me, you'd talk to me.
Normal stalker behavior. Then suddenly, it stopped. For two weeks, I thought it was over.
But early one morning, around 2:00 a. m. , I woke up to a light tap on my window.
I assumed it was my cat kneing back in, but when I looked, there was a face staring back at me. I ran to my dad, screaming about a face in my window, but by the time he checked, he was gone. That's when I finally told the JOTC instructors.
I showed them months of notes and told them everything. They had a hard time believing me at first. Then I found another note in my locker.
You look pretty [music] in your sleep. That one stuck with me for years. I will get chills thinking [music] about it.
I had blinds and curtains clipped to my wall so that there wasn't any gaps and my bed was right next to my window. He had gone out of his way to open the window, move the blinds, and unclip the curtains just to look at me. When I explained this to my instructors, [music] they finally believed me.
They told me to collect as much evidence as I could and write out everything he'd done. I didn't have cameras around my house, so I couldn't prove he'd come at night, but my neighbor did. [music] He sat with me and watched the footage.
And there he was, seen walking up to my house at 2:00 a. m. and leaving around 3:00 a.
m. He'd watched me sleep almost every night for a month. So when I turned in the evidence, another girl who'd overheard us talking confessed that he'd been creepy with her, too.
Then another, then five more. But he only came to my house. The others received gifts, notes, and heard the same lie about cancer, but he never watched them sleep.
We gave all of our evidence to my principal, who, with our permission, turned it over to the authorities. One girl even planned to sue him for emotional distress. Then he [music] disappeared.
When news spread, none of us heard anything. I checked local obituaries out of fear that he might have actually been sick, but there was nothing. 7 years later, there's still no record of him or any member of his family.
No trace at all. Even though I've moved far away, [music] I still get that chill down my spine like I'm being watched at night. I know I should be grateful, but how did he just vanish?
Thanks for reading. I've been keeping this one to myself for a while and haven't been able to stop thinking about it, so I had to get it out. I always sleep with one eye open, but I haven't used a sleeping aid to this day because of what happened that night.
For some context, I used to live alone with my mom when I was a teenager, and she was on some pretty powerful sleeping meds at the time. I guess it runs in the family because I was also a deep insomniac, sometimes missing sleep for days at a time. So, I turned towards a slightly more natural option than my mom, a blend of supplements, including Valyrian along with some other stuff that seemed to help.
By bedtime, I went back to my room. I had divided the room in a way that I had to go around a shelving unit to get to my bed. It left the layout of my room looking like a U-shape, where one end of the U was the door and the other was my bed.
I took my supplements and as they kicked in, I slowly faded into sleep. I don't exactly know how much time passed, but I woke up in a days, still well sedated. I was nudged from my slumber because I heard a muddled voice in my room.
But I was still half awake and I couldn't process the words being said. I managed to open my eyes and though my vision was still blurry, I could see that there was a tall man facing me, standing on the other side of the shelving unit where the door was. A tall man, I thought to myself, still in a daysaze.
Then my brain kicked into overdrive. I lived alone with my mom. The only other man here was me.
Adrenaline finally rushed through me, waking me up for good, and I sprang up. I feel I must preface what happens next with the fact that I was a bit of a wild kid at the time and was really into weapons and knives, and next to my bed was a trusty machete. For people in the US, guns are kind of hard to come by in Canada, unless you're a hunter security with a proper license.
But people here feel generally safe enough to omit having any kinds of weapons in their house at all. So, let's just say that being a bit of a maniac for French Canadian standards paid off that day. I jumped off the bed and grabbed my machete and as soon as he saw me reach for it, he did a quick 180 and bolted towards the exit.
I ran around the shelving [music] unit looking like a half- naked teenage Jason Vorhees. By the time I reached the outside of my bedroom, he had already run out of the apartment. The first thing I noticed was that he had kicked the front door completely off its hinges to get in.
I didn't hear anything like that, so I guess the meds were working. I was about to pursue him, but my mom finally entered my mind. Her room was right next to the entrance.
Her door was closed, so I ran into her room only to find her fast asleep. Relief washed over me and I woke her up as I dialed 911. The police came and were as useful as you'd imagine.
If they don't catch you mid murder or at the very least with the intruder in the house, there isn't much they can do. I asked them what I'm supposed to do for the rest of the night without a front door in the middle of the city, and they assured me that I probably scared the guy enough for him not to come back. After they left, I told my mom to go back to sleep, and I would stand guard for the night.
I sat on the couch with the machete next to me and stayed awake until the sun came up. But as I sat there at night and thought about the whole ordeal, some creepy details stood out to me. The intruder had left every door in the house closed except for the one to my bedroom.
He essentially kicked the front door in and went straight to my bedroom. I also wondered what was he saying to me before I finally got back to my senses. Was this just someone drugged out of their mind?
Or maybe someone who used to live here looking for someone else only to find me? Or was all this meant for me? Worse yet, if that was the case, what would have happened if I weren't armed at that moment?
So, let's just say that putting a weapon next to my bed has become a new tradition whenever I move somewhere new. And though my sleep has gotten much better, it's not very hard to wake me up. I have a lot of crazy stories from my travels, including making friends with a cannibal in India, fighting off a pack of wolves in a screaming match, and almost getting murdered by angry monkeys and apes on three different occasions.
But I got to say, man is still the scariest of all creatures. This was something from when I was a kid. I'm now 26, female.
When VHS was still around, and a good chunk of the time it was bought secondhand, sometimes there would be kids movies that would be overwritten with something else. It'd be the usual cut off for just another movie entirely. But this one actually made me hate marionettes and puppets.
My memories are a bit splotchy and the details, but the effects from it still stick with me today. I was watching The Land Before Time. I was alone.
Suddenly, the film changed and it started showing a dark area raining with a spotlight from a lamp post on one single puppet, black and white in color, just standing there. It looked so sad and depressed. There was no music aside from the sound of rain and thunder.
There was nothing around it, but sometimes it would focus on the strings attached. It lasted a good while of just nothing. You know the really eerie, quiet, scary sound films use to make the tension even worse.
Like it gives you a bad feeling. It started to get louder and louder as the puppet looks at its hands. I think it had a gun.
It started to feel really intense and suddenly a loud pang with a flash. It stays in the blank scene for a moment. Then it pans to the puppet, now lifeless and just hanging there on its string.
All that was left on my screen was the spotlight of a lifeless puppet hanging on the strings it was attached to. To say that gave me the chills is an understatement. I had no clue what was happening and just stared.
I was confused and scared. Then another puppet walked in. And this one was in some type of black trench coat, I think, and a hat.
And it walked up to the dead puppet. In its hands was a pair of scissors. It jumped to a screen of its face, and all I remember was just a white pale face with black eyes that had white irises.
Still gives me chills thinking about it. As it stands over the lifeless puppet, it raises its hands with the scissors and starts cutting the strings of the puppet in and out, in and out like it was stabbing it. Then silence.
The lifeless puppet is now on the ground with another, standing over its body, staring. It reaches down to grab the puppet on the floor and drags it off screen. And then nothing.
All that was left was that spotlight and rain and it went on for a little longer and the screen went back to Littlefoot and his friends and it left me absolutely dumbfounded. I never saw it again. I couldn't sleep for a whole week and for some reason I could never find the tape.
I have not been able to figure out where it came from. We've moved away from my childhood home and we didn't take any of the tapes with us. So, I probably will never figure it out.
[bell] This happened last year. I, 20 female, was living with two of my friends from uni, both 21 female. I'll call them S and A.
Our place had a big gate to get into the yard and then the actual house door. We all had keys for the inside door, but there was only one key for the big gate, and we never bothered copying it. So, whoever finished uni earliest that day would take it.
That day, A had it because her classes ended before ours. S and I got home at the same time and assumed A was already inside since she'd go straight home after class. You can't really see through the gate, but you can hear pretty clearly.
We rang the bell a couple times and then we heard the inside door open like someone was coming out. Right after that, we both heard A's voice say, "One second, guys. I'm coming.
" It sounded exactly like her. Then we heard shuffling like someone walking around in shoes. So, we just stood there waiting.
Nothing happened. We rang again, waited again, and still nothing. At that point, I was getting annoyed because it was hot and we'd both had a long day.
I kept ringing and knocking, but no response at all. So, we called A. She picked up immediately and it doesn't sound like she's home.
We told her to open the door and she goes, "I'm not home. I went out to get food. I'm on my way back.
" Me and S just looked at each other. I literally felt sick. I asked her if she heard it, too, and she said yes.
We both heard the exact same thing. [music] There's no one else living there. And it didn't just kind of sound like a it was her voice, the way she talks and everything.
I don't live there anymore, but while we were there, my roommates and I would constantly hear noises when we were home alone. Genuinely the creepiest place I've ever lived in. Okay, you read the title.
Right now, it's 5:05 in the morning as I'm writing this. I just moved to Pittsburgh about 4 months ago. I got my own place and things have been going okay.
Anyways, I've been sleeping in the living room of my apartment because I'm still trying to move stuff in. So, the bedroom is basically storage right now. The building I'm in has nine floors where the fifth floor is basically the lobby.
It's pretty much on the side of a mountain, but I'm on the fourth floor. The thing is that outside my window, it's at least 12 ft from the ground to the window. If someone can teach me how to post pictures in the post, then I will totally show you guys the height.
So 2 hours ago, I woke up out of my sleep and I was sleeping pretty good, too. When I woke up, I realized that it was still dark out because there was no sunlight coming through my window. Then I sort of got this feeling that someone was watching me.
I was just laying still and trying to wake up a little bit more, just trying to make sure that I was up and that it wasn't sleep paralysis or something because I've dealt with that before. This wasn't that. I felt intimidated almost.
So, I looked around. I didn't see anything until I looked at the window. My window has blinds.
And earlier, I had closed the window because I was freezing. But when I did, the blinds were cracked. Now, when I looked up after waking up, I swore I saw a reflection coming through the gap in the blinds.
I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but I couldn't because it felt like someone was staring through the back of my head. I thought, "Fuck it. Let me just close the blinds.
" I really didn't want to because I just woke up and I'm lazy, but I was just so annoyed that I couldn't fall back asleep. Anyways, I get up and start walking to the blinds. At this point, I stopped like halfway and stared at the reflection, and I noticed something that looked like an eye.
I rubbed my eyes and looked again, and then it was gone. I thought it's just me being sleepy, so I went to shut the blinds, but something told me to make sure that the windows were locked. In order to lock it, I needed to open the blinds more.
When I did, I saw someone hanging off my window. They dropped, then ran up the hill into the parking lot behind my window and took off. I didn't know what to do but try and drink something and process what had just happened.
But I figured I might as well write it down because honestly the face was blurry and he or she had like black eyes. I I don't know if that's because it was 3:30 in the morning, but it was black eyes and they were wearing all white, but the clothes looked dirty. That's how I woke up and I'm not going back to sleep now.
I'm about to wait for sunrise and go do something, but that [ __ ] really tripped me out and I'm just not sure if I saw what I saw or if I was just groggy. But I was up for at least 20 minutes before going to my window. I haven't told anyone this yet.
Not my sister, not my co-workers, nobody. I'm only posting here because I genuinely do not know what else to do and I have not slept properly in about three weeks. I moved into this house in March.
Nothing special about it. Singlestory older neighborhood. The street is quiet except for Thursday mornings when the garbage truck comes too early.
I took it because the rent was decent and I was tired of apartment living. That's it. No gut feeling, no weird vibe when I tooured it.
Just a house. I work nights at a logistics company. Data entry, boring stuff.
I get home around 1:00 a. m. most days and sometimes closer to 2.
The first time I noticed the porch light on, I honestly thought I had left it on myself before my shift. I was half asleep. I turned it off and went to bed.
I woke up the next morning and didn't think about it at all. But it kept happening. Not every night.
That is the part that kept making me doubt myself. If it was every single night, I would have called an electrician immediately. But it was random.
Three nights off, then on. A whole week of nothing, then two nights in a row. I started keeping notes in my phone because I felt like I was going crazy.
Just the date and light on again or nothing. I have 23 entries in that note. My c-orker Marcus told me that it was probably just a short in the switch.
He said that his bathroom fan used to turn on by itself for like 6 months before he replaced the switch plate. That explanation made me feel better for maybe 4 days. Then I actually looked at my switch.
It is a brand new switch. The previous owner must have replaced it recently because it still had that fresh paint smell around the edges where someone had repainted the wall after installation. So, it was not old wiring.
It wasn't a worn out switch. I did not tell Marcus that part. I want to pause here and say that I am not someone who believes in this stuff.
I grew up in a pretty nononsense household. My dad would have laughed at me for even writing this. I'm writing it anyway because I saw what I saw and I need somewhere to put it.
I set up my old phone to record one night, propped it up against some books on the shelf across from the front door where you can see the switch clearly. I turned off the light and double checked the camera to make sure it was running and went to bed. At 2:17 a.
m. , the light turned on. I watched the footage for maybe 5 or 6 minutes the next morning.
My hands were actually shaking [music] a little by the third watch. And I am not someone who shakes [music] easily. The switch did not move.
Nobody touched it. The light just went from off to on like someone edited the [music] video. One frame was dark.
The next frame, the yellow glow is there and the switch is still [music] pointing down. I sent the clip to Marcus and just said, "Explain this. " He said it [music] was probably a ground fault issue and sent me a YouTube video about electrical gremlins in older homes.
I did not respond. My neighbor across the street is a guy named Dave, retired, probably late60s, [music] the kind of guy who is always doing something in his yard and notices when your trash can blows into the street before you do. I don't know him well, but he seems [music] decent.
I knocked on his door on a Saturday morning and asked him straight up if he knew anything about the house. He was quiet for a second before he said something. He told me that the family before me had the same issue with the light.
Said that they thought it was something electrical. Had someone come out twice. Nothing was ever found to be wrong.
I asked him how long it went on and he said that the whole time that he lived there about 14 months total. I asked why they left. He said that the light was not [music] the only reason.
I pushed him on it and he told me that the wife used to see someone standing outside at night on the porch or near it, always when the light was on. She told Dave that it did not feel threatening exactly, more like someone keeping watch. Dave said that he never saw anything himself, but he believed her because she was not the type to make things up.
Then he said something that stuck with me. He said that she told him once that it felt less like something watching the house and more like something watching over it. I went home and sat in my kitchen for a long time after that.
I started staying up to watch. I know that's probably stupid, but [snorts] three nights I fell asleep in my chair around 4:00 a. m.
and woke up stiff with the porch light glowing through the window. Nothing to show for it except a sore neck. The fourth night, I made coffee and stayed awake.
Nothing happened up until almost 3:00 a. m. and I was genuinely about to give up.
I stood up to stretch and looked toward the front window out of habit. There was someone standing at the edge of the porch, not fully in the light, right at the border where the yellow starts fading into the dark of the yard, standing with their back mostly toward me, like they were looking down the street, very still, the kind of still that felt deliberate. I stood there for I don't know how long, probably not as long as it felt.
Eventually, they walked away, normal pace, down the sidewalk, and then they were gone past the edge of my window. I didn't sleep that night. I sat in that chair until the sun came up.
I called the non-emergency line the next day. An officer came out, looked around, and said that there were no signs of anything. Probably just a neighbor out for a late walk.
She was nice about it, but I could tell that she thought I was being paranoid. Maybe I was. I filed a report anyway.
That was about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. Here is the part I have been putting off writing. Last Tuesday, I woke up late again, not even watching for anything.
Just I couldn't sleep. I was on my phone in the dark living room. I looked up at the window for no reason.
Just one of those random glances. There was something at the far end of the street. I say something because I don't know what else to call it.
It was standing in a way that was not quite right. I can't fully explain what I mean by that. The shape was just off somehow.
The proportions maybe or the way it was holding itself. It was still in the way that the thing on my porch was still but worse. And it was facing my house.
I watched it for maybe 2 minutes. Then my porch light flickered once and whatever it was turned and walked away in the other direction. Gone.
I have not touched the porch light switch since then. I do not know what the figure on my porch is. I don't know if it's connected to the light or if I am just pattern matching because I'm scared and sleepdeprived.
My sister keeps texting me asking why I seem off and I keep telling her work is stressful, but I keep thinking about what Dave said, watching over it. I don't know what is at the end of the street. I don't want to know.
And as long as the light keeps coming on by itself, I think I'm going to leave it alone. I will update if anything else happens. Sorry this was so long.
[bell] I'm a single woman who lives alone. And it was just after midnight when I got home. I had just stepped out of my car when I heard a man crying.
He was hidden in the shadows of my neighbor's shed just outside my security camera's view. And he asked me to give him a ride to the park because he couldn't walk. He said his leg was busted and that his girlfriend had stolen his crutches.
Now, I might be a lot of things, but murder victim was not about to be one of them. I offered to call an ambulance instead. He refused and kept repeating that he needed a ride.
So, I nodded and said, "Give me a sec. I just need to put something away. " And calmly walked to my door while trying not to look frantic so he didn't panic and decide to bumrush me.
[snorts] When I got inside, I locked the door and called the police. I told them that he might be injured or he might be full of [ __ ] I couldn't tell. It felt sketchy to me and I'm not an artist.
I don't do sketchy. The cops arrived about 10 minutes later and miraculously the shadowman's busted leg had apparently been healed by divine intervention because he had just gone without a trace. My security camera had a spotlight that is activated when it detects movement.
And I'm certain it was no accident that Shadowman stayed just out of its view the entire time. Honestly, if it wasn't for my camera, I might not even be here right now. Edit.
Here's a short clip from my camera in case anyone's interested. Thanks again, guys, for taking the time to check out this video. If you enjoyed it, please make sure to subscribe to Something Sinister.
