oh okay so this one's about how to recognize reliable news sources and this one is actually the main part from our strategy right because a lot of people they use uh primarily analytical data and I use that don't get me wrong that has its place um that is something you're probably gonna need need to use but the main thing is actually using news to find your Catalyst right this this is what we use to find the trades in the first place and then we crunch some numbers and do some nerdy stuff to figure out if
it's actually going to be something we really want to get into whenever you're looking for a new source there's a few factors you're going to want to consider and most of them are pretty redundant if I'm being honest but reputation and credibility you want a new source that's been around for a while and you know that they are popular for you know giving out reliable news um I know Fox News and CNN they are both they've been around for a while but are they reputable uh they're both biased I'll say that um and I don't
care what your political affiliation is you know bias news is biased news and if it hurts your feelings you can get over it [Music] um but I'm just saying I'm not trying to get political here I'm just saying the facts all right you're going to want to stay away from biased news and if you do use bias news at least cross-reference it with other news sources right um so size doesn't always mean reputation and credibility okay those those things don't always connect um for example quiver Quan and capital trades I would consider them to be
news sources because they publish uh real-time events that are happening in the world and that just also happens to have the added benefit of being the type of data that I trade off of and they are from what I've seen they're extremely reputable and very credible their stuff is extremely accurate and I like them a lot okay so um big doesn't always mean better it was basically what I'm trying to say here okay so the next one is editorial principles and procedures so this one's basically like every new source has a code of ethics that
they work by okay and none of them are trying to be out there you know giving you guys false news No One's Gonna no one seeks to do that right I don't think they'll have their biases but it's not like they started their company and they're like oh man I can't wait to to fake all this news to to fool the populace you know I don't think that happens because that news source probably wouldn't be very popular but that being said there are some news companies that have different principles and procedures and you don't really
need to do this I did it because I get obsessed about stuff and I really dig and I find all the little nooks and crannies everything that could help me right uh is this really necessary I think probably no because all you're going to see whenever you do this is like how are they how do they do things differently than other new sources maybe they they are a little more lenient with the facts that they put out you know um it's not that they're they're straight up lying about the facts but maybe they omit stuff
so I guess lying by admission right um is like I said you don't really need to do this you can kind of tell if a new source is sketchy or not just by observing what they say compared to everyone else you know and that's actually down here multiple Source verification I love cross-referencing that is like older right like not just for um alternative data either analytical data you have to cross-reference everything if you rely on one new source and you rely on one politician and you rely on one Insider Trader uh you're not gonna do
very good that's not how this game is played it's like with anything else it's a numbers game all right the more information you get the more informed of a decision you can make and that not just like if a lot of politicians are buying certain stock okay that's good right more politicians better but I'm talking about multiple different sources are the dark pools doing anything uh what's going on with insider trading on that stock right so multiple Source verification is very important and we already kind of talked about this right here uh bias right and
I mean and people like their new sources right um but whenever you're trading you need to keep emotions far or far far away from it and you have to realize that most politicians are they're just kind of greedy little money guys right little leprechauns um so there's no I get people who Loyals for the party but there's if you're going to do this there's no point in being loyal to certain politicians or being loyal to a certain party right because no matter what they're all going to make you money um and they're in and to
Circle back a little bit biased news stations I would say there's a lot of them there there is a lot and I know a lot of people are whenever you talk about news it gets political really fast and it makes sense because we're actually talking about politicians but um Fox News CNN I'd say they're pretty biased and that may not necessarily be a bad thing um if you cross-reference right because if you take something that CNN said and take some of the Fox News said and they both agree on something that's probably true because they
hate each other so make sure you use everything to his strength right don't just uh cut out Fox News or cut off CNN just because you don't like them right you can use them to your advantage and that's the mindset that's the mindset I used to stumble upon this strategy you can leverage everything in your favor you just have to be smart enough to do it so cutting out new sources entirely I mean you can if you have enough news sources that you want to go off of but it's not recommended
