I have said a few times, I'm not sure if in this course, but I tell many people that constellation is an artistic work, it is a poetic work, so to speak. And I see it that way, because for us to be able to look without judgment at someone's story, at those involved in that story, is internal work. Creating a vision of how love acts, how love is acting in that story, is also an internal movement, but it is a movement that welcomes what presents itself as a whole and delivers it to the lap of a higher wisdom.
Now, delivering this to someone in a way that the person can receive, and they will only be able to receive it because they feel and perceive how real this is . More than perceive, know how real this is; they come to know, let's say, when a person had a theme, uh, let's say, and of, in truth, anything can be this, right? Let's say, a person had the issue of losing a child and they do not account for that child.
Often this can be because the pain of losing a child is so deep that the ego found a way, the person's ego as a form of protection found a way not to see that life, right? found a way not to account for it. How do you deliver to this person a truth that this, that this life and that this soul, as we commented in the first class, in the second, this soul still continues perpetually acting in the family system , that it is still a part, that it always was a part, always will be a part?
How do you deliver this truth to the point that the person feels it, recognizes it, even though they may have even created a protective story in which that soul is excluded? It is through art, it is through a healing phrase that focuses on the essence, but that penetrates the labyrinth of the mind and goes straight to the heart, because this is what enables healing. So, I do feel that constellation is also an act of making poetry.
Have you ever noticed that poetry, uh, speaks more than what it says or says more than what it speaks? Is there something beyond what is explicit within a poem? A feeling is transmitted through symbols which are words.
The same happens when we are going to bring a healing phrase to a person. So, it's one thing to tell a person to look at a horse representing that child they don't acknowledge and say: "My child, you are part of this. " Well, those are constellation hymns, they are mantras, right?
It is a constellation phrase that acts as a mantra. Many people say: it works, it often works. But bringing from the person's field, from that space, from this magic that occurs when meeting the soul of another being, a phrase that relates to this vision, this perspective, this acknowledgment from the person toward this child, changes everything and enables much more of an opening of the person's heart to this truth they couldn't see.
So, let's suppose: if the child, let's say it's been 22 years since the person lost that child, or had an abortion, or spontaneously it didn't come, eh, it wasn't born; bringing a phrase, right, looking at this scenario, that relates to this person who would be 22 years old today, can open the field much more . Or if, during the constellation process, there appeared the story of a person, a child, who is more or less the same age, with whom this person connected. And let's suppose that this child is named, I'll give any name here , let's see, eh, Josefina.
So you look at this person who lost a child at the same age as Josefina. And then you bring her something like, eh, you would be Josefina's age today? Or perhaps you would be, perhaps you would be a great friend of Jose's today.
It is a way of bringing the same awareness, just less like a systemic greeting card phrase and more, eh, poetry and truth and therapeutic art for the person. I think , I think that is my specialty. I think that is what I focus on most within a constellation field.
Not in the poetry I will create, not that it has to be pretty words, but how much I can bring an insight that isn't available, that is proof against the barriers people place on themselves. And I will only achieve this by observing it from this person's eyes, but with a vision, eh, with systemic support that something greater is not being seen. Eh, and in this way, we will bring phrases of liberation that contain what wants to be said and that touch these people deeply.
These phrases can be tattooed later, they can become a picture in the house, they can keep, eh, being repeated like a mantra in people's souls. Later on, constellation as a form of healing, it starts opening up a portal within people, right? So, I wanted to bring this wisdom about liberation phrases, because I think that's where the poetry of the constellation lies.
Constellation is a brief therapeutic practice, a brief therapy, as we call it, because it’s not about having many sessions, no. We do a constellation with a person, and we usually see something deep, something that had been hidden for many years, which finally opens up, surfaces , and transforms the way the person lives. So, we can’t keep doing constellations all the time, right?
The idea is for the person to enjoy this new path and, on their own, start creating new possibilities. So, we call it a brief therapy. It’s not a therapy that we keep repeating.
Well, so these phrases that we bring throughout a constellation process are the key that opens those inner doors to perceive life in a different way, right ? So, I have been increasingly minimalist during a constellation. My idea is not to keep explaining everything that is happening or explaining what the laws are.
No, we go to the field of the horses, we perceive the acting out. I usually point out to people what each horse is representing. Or sometimes I can also do this in a more subtle way, right?
It's a way of working. But usually, I bring what I am perceiving from the energy of the horses, from their representation. And then, I go silent, I ask a few questions, I let the person themselves bring their theme or their search or the way they see each of the elements in the field.
And then I bring liberation phrases that will focus on the essence of what wants to be said. It’s a process of making poetry, right?
