When Donald Trump returned to DC yesterday, he did so in a state of complete collapse. It is the state that Donald Trump exists in right now. Republicans are abandoning him in the media, in Congress, on the campaign trail, running away because of his stench, both literally and figuratively because we know that he every once in a while lets one go.
And so he is collapsing. His polls are collapsing. His administration is collapsing with resignations.
his political party and his grip on it is collapsing. And so Donald Trump is lashing out, right? You don't even need to look at the polls.
You don't need to look at the bad financials in MAGA. You don't even need to look at the bad economy to know that Donald Trump is collapsing because you can just take a look at his posts, at his outbursts, at his freakouts, at his tantrums. And he let one off last night in the middle of the night.
But that wasn't even the worst thing. The worst thing was what was caught on camera. Donald Trump and his disaster landing screaming, losing his mind, coming unhinged because he is pissed.
He's furious. He's angry. And he knows it's all going wrong.
And we got a lot to talk about on that topic in this video, including some new disaster polling from Donald Trump that really explains why Republicans are running away. We got so much to get into. I want to take a look at that photo from the landing.
I want to talk about it in context, but we got to start with the post that Donald Trump made last night, completely losing his mind, talking about his media ban, which has backfired in every conceivable way. Uh, Ziron Mandani ambushed Donald Trump pretty much with uh with the press during their little appearance at Gracie Mansion. That was humiliating for Donald Trump, of course, when he was at the White House trying to cut a a ribbon, a little ribbon cutting ceremony and there was no audio.
That was embarrassing. Reporters covering Trump at the UN and making fun of him on the escalator. That has been embarrassing.
So Trump is fed up that the media are owning him, not the other way around certainly. And so he took the truth social as he was landing in a disastrous sense. Said this Trump wrote, "All of these sleas bags like third rate reporter Caitlyn Collins of Fake News CNN, a truly unhappy person said they weren't going to be covering me.
That that's not necessarily true. You banned them. It wasn't the other way around.
Then then why were they ranting and raving like lunatics in the press area at the United Nations? I don't know. Maybe they were doing their jobs.
Why was she there? She got a Trump addiction. She's got a Trump addiction.
That's what Caitlyn Collins has. Or is she doing her job? And so does CNN and MSDNC.
They're all sick, treasonous, and demented. So Donald Trump, I guess, is calling for a trial for treason. A nice little death threat there.
The good news is that they make a great for them and totally disloyal judge make America great again President Donald J. Trump. What do you want, Donald?
Do you want them to cover you or not? And by the way, they're not covering you. They're covering the president.
That's why they're in the White House. That's why you can't ban them. It's not private property.
It is for the public. That is why you cannot do this. And it's always so funny.
It's something that I really hate when it was always Carolyn Levit who would do this, but but truly any Republican would go, "Look, Donald Trump gave a speech today and all the outlets were covering. All the media were giving him giving him attention. " Yeah, because he's the president.
And it's pretty easy to get the media's attention when you're the president. So, don't go patting yourself on the back. These people aren't obsessed with you, Donald.
They're trying to do their job. That's what you don't get. That's what you can't conceptualize or that's what you don't want to.
They're just trying to do their job. And hopefully hopefully hopefully you know this has lit a fire under the under the butts of the press. You can't lit a fire under Donald Trump's butt because you know with all the gas coming out he might catch on fire.
Not the worst idea. But Donald Trump, he's really been exactly what they've wanted in so many ways. Kind of a lazier press corps that doesn't really want to ask tough questions.
No, a lot of the time that's because, you know, Donald Trump is making sure he's he's filling the press corps with people who will do his bidding, people he can always get an easy question off of. So, yeah, we certainly see that, but we also just have to point out the fact that there are questions about Natalie Harp that haven't been asked. There's questions about the files that haven't been asked.
I think those questions are going to be asked when CNN, Politico, and MS Now come back. And it's why Donald Trump is losing it like this. Our friends at Midas Touch posted this photo of Donald Trump and you can see him screaming, screaming.
Oh my god. Disbarking from disembarking I should say from Marine 1 last night. He is fully yelling and you can see the the helicopter pilot is like turned around like what the is going on?
But he is just yelling. He is angry. He is mad.
He is losing his mind. He is in a state of collapse upon his landing back in DC. He's a mad man.
He's a mad man. Uh I know we've known this. I know that we've been well aware of it for some time, but but truly this is an an out of control and out of touch individual.
And it is likely because he continues to get the news of all the Republicans who are turning on him. Don't you think that's kind of part of this that Donald Trump is is banning press outlets ahead of the midterms? one cuz he doesn't want to be asked about the Republicans who are who are turning on him right now with Byron Donald's or Maria Salazar.
There's others. You see, Republicans across the country right now trying to say that they don't support Trump's war anymore. Give me a break.
That they think we need to end it. Well, then why haven't you worked to do so? There's a bunch of Republicans in Congress running for, you know, Senate or governor or, you know, just electeds who are who are running for reelection saying, "Well, you know, we got to end this war.
We got to stop it. You have the power. Go ahead.
It's like the $5,000 check thing. You You can do it now if you want. Why aren't you?
" Because, of course, these people don't want to exercise their power, which is as good a reason as any to take it from them. Don't want to use it? Don't have to.
Bye. No longer in power. But Donald Trump doesn't want to be asked those questions.
But also, Republicans do not want Trump talking at all. At all do they want him talking. They want him shut up because he is incredibly damaging to them.
Incredibly damaging. That is what Donald Trump is. And so they're like, "Please stop talking.
Please stop engaging. Just like let's take a look at this polling. " And I know some of y'all don't don't love the polling from Harry Anon too much because sometimes he's a little too too fantastical.
And you know, I agree. Sometimes Harry is doing a little too much, but but this polling this polling we really need to take a look at. Um you know, I'll be nice.
We like Harry Anon. We'll be he's a little much sometimes, but we can like Harry Anton. Okay, he he brings us good polls.
We like Harry Anton right now because these polls for Donald Trump are disastrous. Brand new CNN poll shows President Trump at a record low in terms of his approval rating. But that only tells part of the story because as bad as that sounds, there might be worse.
With us now, CNN chief data analyst Harriet. And so is talking about that overall number that's bad. You look below that and there's some wow here.
There are some stunning numbers. And I want to talk about independence, but independents who don't lean towards either the Democratic or Republican party, so-called pure independence. And these numbers and the shift from where we were back in 2024.
I mean, look at these numbers. And this is an average of two different polls, pure independent voters on Trump versus Kla Harris. When you average the CES and pure validated voter survey, he beat he beat Donald Don Trump beat Kla Harris by 15 points.
Look at his net approval rating now with pure independence. those who don't lead towards either the Democratic or Republican party. It's 71 points.
I mean, these are the deep depths of the ocean. You never see numbers like these. This is Johnny B.
What is this? This is an 86 point shift away from the president of the United States with the group that ultimately really does determine elections. As pure independents go, usually so goes the nation.
And right now, Donald Trump is at depths that truly you rarely ever see. I mean, 86 points. 86 points.
It's almost impossible to conceive of a number bigger than that in terms of a swing. Except Except what if you ask pure independence about Donald Trump and the economy? Okay, look at this.
This is a 99 point shift. What are we talking about? Pure independence, Trump and the economy versus Kla Harris.
He was more trusted on the economy by 22 points. That's why pure independent voters decided to vote for Donald Trump and put him back in the White House for a second term. Look at these numbers now, though.
His net approval rating is -7 points. It's minus 77 points. In fact, I was looking at our CNN poll.
The voter approval rating for Donald Trump was like 7%. 7%. That's what we were talking about here.
Now, again, this is an average of the polls, but if you just look at that one, it's like 7%. 7%. That is literally this.
That is literally this. When you can put approval ratings on your two hands and you're not even taking up the full two hands, you know it is low. A 70 a 99 point shift and now at 777 points.
And it's not just one poll. I'm averaging multiple surveys here. Oh my god.
Yeah. I mean, you run out of adjectives here to describe how big this shift is. It's unbelievable.
All right. Gas prices also a big deal right now. They've gone up so much in the last month.
What are people saying? What are the pure independents saying about Yeah. What are the pure independents?
What is driving this number? What is driving these numbers to the deep depths of hell? As far as you were concerned, if you're a Republican, you're running for reelection this fall.
It's gas prices. It's gas prices. Look at this.
Pure independence on gas prices and Trump. Just 8%. Just 8% approve.
Look at this. 92% 92% of pure independents disapprove of Donald Trump on gas prices. We have seen this disapproval rating hitting record levels with the electorate overall.
We've seen the gas prices go up and you've literally seen the odds that Republicans are able to hold on to control in the United States Senate decline. As those gas prices have gone one way, those chances for Republicans holding on to the United States Senate have gone the other way. And it's pure independence that are driving this.
92% near uniformity. Yeah, I I was going to say, you know, for pure independence, this isn't all, but it's almost all. It's almost It is almost all when you get 8% of folks agreeing on something that is below the percentage of the Americans who actually think the moon landing was fake.
And of course, that was very real. Erin, you know, I said this uh I said this in an episode last night that the takeaway from these polls shouldn't just be, "Wow, Donald Trump sucks. He's doing terrible.
Isn't that so great? " But it should also be Democrats, don't you see your opportunity? Don't you see your opportunity here?
Republicans aren't popular, so don't cave to them on anything. Don't say, you know, uh, well, I have Republican support on the economy. Republicans have supported my e economic proposals.
Republicans have backed my positions on the border. Sometimes I've I voted with Republicans on immigration. Republicans are unpopular on immigration.
Republicans are unpopular on the economy. Republicans are unpopular on foreign policy. The Democrats have an opportunity right now to not only assert themselves as better on all the issues and not do this fake compromise thing to try to win people in the center on the right.
It's really people on the right. That's who they want to win. And they want to curry favor with corporations.
That's what the Apac Democrats do, the corporate Democrats do, the conservative Democrats do, the Magalite Democrats do. That's what they want. But it's our opportunity as we go into 2028 to to talk about what the party can be and say, "Here's our immigration plan.
This is why it's better than Republicans. " And we don't need to bring in a Republican to help us with it. We don't need that.
Why would we? They're unpopular. You don't like them.
Not only is it the politically smart thing to do to assert that our plans are the best, but they are the best plans. We don't need compromise with people who are unpopular right now. If the Republican party was up 20 points on the issue of immigration and it was the defining issue of the election, one, we'd be screwed.
But two, yeah, I guess maybe at that point someone would argue, uh, maybe there should be compromise. People like compromise, but people don't want to see compromise with this government. People want to see you push back against this government.
They don't want to see you fall into the traps of Fox News talking points about trans athletes. They want to see you work to end price gouging, the the the giant corpor corporate profits that continue to go up every every year. The for-profit health care system that literally and systematically kills people.
Forever wars that benefit a select few who profit billions. That's what they want to see you end. Not the Fox News talking points, not a Sophie Cunningham thought, not a take on Hassan Those things are distractions and people don't want to hear about that.
They want you to actually solve their problems. And so, Democrats have a real real real opportunity right now. A real opportunity right now to focus on that and to assert themselves as better on all of these things and to reset this mindset that somehow Republicans are better on the economy.
Why? Because they always crash it and things maybe go up for the top 1% but no one else. Better on immigration.
How? How? Maria Salazar would say Republicans aren't better on immigration.
She's a Republican. What have they done? Nothing.
They've killed people, caused chaos in communities, crashed the economy. No. Assert yourself on as better on everything.
There's no need to compromise with the fascists because when you do, [snorts] you're just as bad as them. And so, we're going to keep on calling out anyone who does because now is our time to really take this thing. And if you want to support that, let's get cutthroat.
