So, we’re almost done, and now we know that discipleship is a calling. And that we do it by engaging, establishing, equipping, and empowering people. But the goal is not just us discipling but others, too.
The question is how do you know if someone you’re discipling is ready to make disciples? So, let’s ask around. Faithful.
Faithful to follow God and faithful to serve other people. If they would remain faithful. God doesn’t give up on anyone.
Therefore, we need faithful leaders to keep working with people. Someone who’s available—available because they know how to prioritize their time and have time for minsitry. They make time and show effort.
He has that sense of “I’m here, and I’m willing to be used by God. ” Involvement makes a lot of difference—when you show up, when you’re there. To actually be able to find a need and to begin to meet it.
To serve in any capacity possible. Serving and just giving their time. Someone who’s teachable.
There is a certain level of humility. You are willing to be corrected. When a person is teachable, it enables them to get to the next level where God wants them.
A hunger for God, because I know if someone is hungry, that shows their passion. There’s something that he wants more. You can see it: passion, hunger for more.
As we allow them to be founded in the Word, they will of course be able to even share the gospel in a clear way as well. When you are living out God’s Word in your life, that’ll be easier as well to also be a testimony to someone you are leading. The heart for discipleship will just really follow, because it stems from his or her relationship with God.
We’re not even looking for mature leaders. In fact, we’re not even looking for leaders. And potential leaders are people who are faithful, available, involved, teachable, hungry hungry for more of God, hungry for more ministry.
Let’s find potential leaders for the honor and glory of God. It’s actually simple. It’s F-A-I-T-H.
Faith! then they, too, can start making disciples. I can only imagine the impact when God would start using more and more people to make disciples in the campuses, in our cities, in our nation.
So together, let’s honor God and make disciples.
