But many people would say that you are imitating him. You among all the people who may or may not be running. [laughter] You're the one who kind of imitates his style with the trolling with uh you're suing Fox.
Now I understand in San Francisco. The city's so nice you'll step in poop twice. Uh there's an area where homeless people were urinating and defecating and it was starting to annoy the people breaking into cars.
Bill Maher recently sat down with Gavin Newsome and even though the interview was brief, it still came packed with fireworks. So the city tried to build a public toilet last year, but then gave up when the cost hit 1. 7 million.
Not 1. 7 million for a public toilet system, 1. 7 million for one toilet.
And this wasn't some magic toilet that catches your phone when you drop. Newsome has spent years attacking Donald Trump, but Bill Maher called out what he saw as hypocrisy, pointing out that Newsome has been copying him. The stunned look on Gavin Newsome's face seemed to say it all.
Hit subscribe if you haven't already, and let's jump right into it. You know, for me, uh, that's to to me that's the biggest reflection of this moment is is how just the sewer that we're now living in because of Donald Trump. Uh, and he's allowed all of it us to feel free to shove again.
And I think, you know, if nothing else, forget that. But you, but many people would say that you are imitating him. you among all the people who may or may not be running.
[laughter] You're the one who kind of imitates his style with the trolling with uh you're suing Fox now. I understand you're saying that's [clears throat] that's going into discovery. Fox better look to settle right now or apologize for defamation.
But okay, but that sounds exactly like what he does. Suing media different point. Well then don't defame don't lie and uh you know again but that does sound like him.
It's interesting and a little ironic that Gavin Newsome seems to be becoming the kind of figure he once criticized. For years, he presented himself as the complete opposite of Donald Trump, attacking his style, his methods, and the way he used power. But that difference is starting to fade.
Newsome now uses tactics that look increasingly familiar, from mocking his opponents, and picking bigger fights with critics to even going after media outlets. When Trump clashed with 60 Minutes and faced controversy with ABC over Jimmy Kimmel's program, critics accused him of attacking Free Expression, the backlash was loud and constant. Yet now, as Newsome appears to be doing similar things, the outrage seems much quieter.
And that raises a bigger question. Is this really about principle or does it depend on who has the power? Well, here's the point.
I'm trying to put a mirror up to Donald Trump. Yeah. Uh and I think it's important with the sense of humor as well.
The deviation of normaly is off the chart. This is a guy cosplaying as the pope, dressing up as Jesus, re, you know, this guy putting his face on Mount Rushmore, doing it at all cap. None of this is normal.
And you may recall when I first started doing this, the folks on Fox said, "Oh, this is so unbecoming of the governor of California. He should wash out his mouth with soap and water with no situational awareness that their dear leader has been doing this for years and years and years. He's a manchild.
" At first, when Bill Maher told Gavin Newsome he was acting like Donald Trump, Newsome tried to dodge the comparison. But Maher kept pressing, pointing out more and more similarities. Eventually, Newsome partly admitted it, then quickly changed his argument, saying he was only holding up a mirror to Trump.
To many viewers, it sounded more like an excuse than a firm position. Instead of standing by one clear argument, Nome seemed to shift his position depending on the moment. But again, we're not trying to dehumanize.
We're just trying to reflect that reality and express the absurdity of all of this. And look, the absurdity, it's every day. It's a corruption story, the Trump administration.
You referenced it obliquely in the opening monologue, but let's get serious. He's got eight or nine countries. He's done major golf course or development deals.
It's memecoins and stable coins. It's a crypto. It's World Liberty Financial.
Uh, it's getting, you know, a piece of the peace. I mean, this peace board is about getting a piece for Wickoff and for Kushner. You see Donald Trump Jr.
in the drone companies, in the mineral companies. You're seeing the kind of corruption. It's not, you know, it's not $60 Bibles.
It's not sneakers. It's not $100,000 watches. It's the greatest grift we've ever seen in our lifetime.
Talking about the greatest grift of all time, scrutiny should not run in just one direction. What about the concerns surrounding Joe Biden and the DNC? repeatedly insisting he was mentally sharp, even as critics raised questions.
What about claims that some lastminute presidential actions may have been signed with an autopen, raising concerns about awareness and oversight? Then there's the longrunning Hunter Biden controversy, which critics say was downplayed or deflected by allies like Gavin Newsome and others. But let's be clear, this is not about giving Donald Trump a free pass.
If wrongdoing is proven, there should be accountability, no exceptions. But fairness requires consistency. You can't claim the moral high ground while ignoring controversies on your own side.
As the saying goes, he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. No excuses. The standard should be the same for everyone every time.
In San Francisco, the city's so nice you'll step in poop twice. [applause] Uh there's an area where homeless people were urinating and defecating and it was starting to annoy the people breaking into cars. [applause] So [applause] So the city tried to build a public toilet last year but then gave up when the cost hit 1.
7 million. Not 1. 7 million for a public toilet system.
1. 7 million for one toilet. And this wasn't some magic toilet that catches your phone when you drop.
Gavin Newsome is firing shots at Donald Trump. While something wild is happening back in California, reports claim one public toilet could cost as much as $1 million. Yes, just one toilet.
While people face rising costs, homelessness, and strain public services, taxpayers are left asking where the money is going. Is this just government waste or is something deeper happening? Either way, when the numbers get this big, people start asking questions and this could be just the beginning.
So then a private company took pity on San Francisco and offered to build them their toilet for free. But after quote project management, construction management, architecture and engineering fees, permits, civ civic design review, surveys, contract preparation and cost estimation. The free toilet was still going to cost almost a million dollars.
You know, if you tack on fees like that, you're not a city, you're an airline. And that's the big shock. A private company offered to build a public toilet for San Francisco, but instead of a simple solution, it ran into layers of red tape, approvals, and regulations that reportedly pushed the cost toward $1 million.
What should have been easy became expensive and complicated? It raises a simple question. Is the system broken or is it working exactly as designed?
Meanwhile, Gavin Newsome keeps attacking Donald Trump while serious problems continue piling up in California. That contrast raises bigger questions about leadership, priorities, and accountability. Many regulations that aren't necessary, that aren't I mean, this you you really don't believe that the state we live in, California, is is lacking regulation.
There's over 300,000 regulations. I mean, I once Well, maybe they're needed. They're not.
When I tried to put in a garage door, I had to have three inspections. There there should have been none. I should be allowed to change my garage door.
Are you kidding? Really? It was about a garage door?
Absolutely. I'm sorry. Yeah, that is No, you know this about California.
Come on. No, I don't. Well, well, I'm sorry.
I don't You don't You've never heard that California is overt taxed and overregulated that we are we are a one party state where there's sort of no checks on that sort of extreme leftism. Even Bill Maher, who once seemed fairly aligned with Gavin Newsome, now sounds frustrated with how California operates. He has shared everyday problems like needing three permits just to fix a garage door or facing piles of paperwork to build a simple shed for his solar setup.
This isn't just politics. It's daily life being slowed down by red tape, turning simple projects into major headaches. And that's the real problem.
A system so complicated that basic progress feels like a marathon of paperwork. Yet Nuome seems more focused on matching Donald Trump's aggressive political style. As if that's the path to a bigger national role in the Democratic party.
It was looking bad there for a while. And we still don't have enough water in the Colorado River and all this stuff. And then whenever I read 80% of the water goes to agriculture, almonds.
No one ever asked you about almonds. Oh, I'm going to ask you about almonds. [laughter] We grow a boatload of almonds.
I'm well aware. You know what? You know how much how many how much water it takes?
Many gallons. 1,900 gallons to grow a pound of almonds. We Come on, man.
Take [laughter] take on big almond. Another major pressure point for Gavin Newsome is water management. California has faced droughts and water shortages for years.
Yet, critics say the priorities remain out of balance. A large share of the water goes to agriculture, including water-heavy crops like almonds. With reservoirs falling, wildfires growing, and communities facing restrictions, people want stronger conservation, better storage, and long-term planning.
Agriculture is important, but critics say the balance is wrong. When every drop matters, the question is simple. Are California's water policies focused on the state's biggest need?
You're right about it. It's not that we don't have the water. That said, you know, the last couple years were tough.
I mean, it's but it's also where the water's falling and we're not capturing it and we're not capturing in those extreme years with these atmospheric rivers. Wetss are getting a lot wetter, dry is drier, hots getting a lot hotter. [music] And so, we've got to modernize our conveyance system.
We've got to modernize our storage, not just above ground, but below ground. And so, that's a big part of our focus and frame, including desalinization plants. We have 20 projects just on del.
So, we've been we put out a detailed water strategy that includes, by the way, getting that Delta conveyance project back up and operational. and includes the first above ground offream. This is classic Gavin Newsome.
Not the version trying to copy Donald Trump, but the one known for giving long answers when faced with tough questions. The question was simple. Why is California still focused on water hungry crops like almonds during a serious water crisis?
It's a practical issue affecting residents, farmers, and the state's future. But instead of giving a clear answer, Nuome launched into a long explanation about atmospheric rivers, desalination, and water storage. Those are important topics, but they didn't directly answer the question.
And that's where the frustration comes in. When a simple question gets buried in complicated language, it can feel more like evasion than leadership. People aren't asking for a lecture.
They want clear answers, accountability, and real solutions. I was on KBLA the other day, yesterday, with my friend Travis Smiley. I'm an investor and a supporter of that station and I, you know, he said, "Who do you want for running president?
" I mentioned I think you'd be good at the job. Not this year. We know.
Um, no, I know. Um, [laughter] but he said, uh, I don't think he could win. I don't think he could win.
He's too progressive coming from this [music] state and what he's done in this state to win in any, uh, southern state, any red state. I disagreed, but no, this is a progressive African-Americanowned station and they I'm sure they like you, but he doesn't think you can win. What do you say to that?
When you step back, a clear pattern emerges around Gavin Muome. It's not just one controversy, but bigger questions about consistency, priorities, and accountability. From accusations of copying Trump's style to California's red tape and ongoing water problems, the concerns keep coming back.
Critics say national political fights get plenty of attention while problems at home remain. And when simple questions get complicated answers, skepticism only grows. Leadership isn't just about words.
It's about real results people can feel. With that, we'll wrap up today's video. If you enjoyed it, hit like and subscribe for more.
