[laughter] I just got kicked out of church for saying the devil. What the I thought we hated that. One hand.
[laughter] Ladies and gentlemen, meet the one WNBA player who does not have a filter installed. Her name is Sophie Cunningham. Some athletes think before they speak.
Sophie clearly didn't get that memo. She seems to operate with exactly one rule. Say whatever comes to mind and somehow that's what makes her hilarious.
Take the time she casually revealed that she actually plays better when she's on her period. Most people would probably keep that information private. Sophie, she basically announced it like she had just discovered a new performance-enhancing strategy.
On the court, I feel like I'm feisty and a little sassy, but off the court I'm pretty chill. Have you ever played Angry? Oh, yeah.
[music] What do you say to your sassy fans who say period? I'm more of a hell yeah type of girl than like a a period. for the game you played angry.
You're on your period or not? [laughter] I thought that's where you were going with it. No, you know what?
I think I actually play better when I'm on my period. Mhm. Don't know why.
Then there's the time a pregnant woman announced her pregnancy online. Sophie saw the announcement and immediately had questions. Can someone explain to me why when people announce like they're [music] pregnant that they're like, "We are so shocked.
We had zero idea. Like, you had to have some idea. No, just because I'm blonde does not mean I'm dumb.
But one of Sophie's most iconic moments happened when she pointed her finger at Dana Borner. That little fingerpoint somehow became a viral meme, and her fans basically embraced the chaos by having her own hilarious calendar made, featuring the fingerpointing moment for every month of the year. What?
[music] What? What? What?
[cheering] [music] And we cannot talk about Sophie without mentioning her chaos partner in crime, Caitlyn Clark. The two clearly have a ridiculous chemistry, and whenever they're together, you never quite know what you're going to get. Even something as simple as walking through a tunnel can turn into a completely unnecessary comedy routine.
Sorry. Your hair down. She forgets I'm broken.
She has no leg. Wow, this is so fresh. [laughter] Wow, this is fun.
I have to come after Inspector Gadget. This is Sophie. This is Hey, this is second half me.
Bonk bonk. Sush. [music] Remember that one viral Tik Tok trend everyone did?
Just give me my money. Sophie didn't just do it. She got her former Phoenix Mercury teammates and coaches to recreate it.
Full send. No notes. All right, go for it.
Give me my money. Give me my money. Give me my money.
Give me my money. Give me my money. Give me my money.
[music] Give me my money. [laughter] Hey, go for it. Give me the money.
I hate you guys. [laughter] I'm never doing anything for you again. But perhaps one of the funniest things Sophie has done is record a video with her Phoenix Mercury teammates without them knowing exactly what was coming.
She had a filter that completely messed with their eyes, making them look bizarre compared to their normal faces. The players had no idea what they look like while Sophie was basically recording the chaos unfold. And that's Sophie Cunningham in a nutshell.
Asking my teammates where they're from. They have no idea that this filter is on. So I'll start.
I'm from Missouri. Daddy, everything bigger in Texas. So that's Queens.
Okay. Mobiles, Corona, California. Tasha Clown 6.
Damn it. Wait on your ass [laughter] all day. BG, where you from?
Houston, Texas. Where are you from? Angua, Australia.
Philly. Where are you from? Chicago.
And Sophie doesn't save her silliness for game days. During training, she has been caught putting on completely ridiculous little shows that make everyone around her laugh because apparently practicing basketball isn't enough. She also needs to provide entertainment for the entire team.
Okay. Get [music] [music and singing] [music] Wow.
