I had came here expecting to get an education but I didn't quite expect so much of a transformation of my view on life when I came here on campus I was like okay I'm going to learn about Jesus but it's not just a oneoff it's not just like one class I take but rather it's a continual presence of being with other people and saying okay wait this is what it means to be in a community of Believers and to love others choosing Apu I was primarily looking for a Christian School that I could attend and
one that I felt would help deepen my faith I realized there's a lot of family connections here and I felt that AP had a really strong Business program one of the surprising aspects was that the teachers want you to succeed being able to go up to a teacher and say hey I really struggle with this and they're like oh absolutely let me help you out with that they're so open to being asked questions and that's just amazing with computer science and finance bringing them together is understanding how does a business operate from a mathematical standpoint
look at a company's finances be like okay how did they achieve those numbers interacting with the professors they've been really good to be clear about the material and say okay there is this material you need to know but then this part is what you're going to be using more often in your actual daily life I think it's also being able to present in front of others and be able to say hey I research this information I Now understand it and believe that it's going to be useful to you running for presidency I was like okay
I've already had a year of experience within the student government I feel like I can lead this group well I feel like that I can actually make an impact for the students and say hey this is what we need to focus on this is how we can do it so really excited to see what we do this coming year we're in this community and we're encouraging each other to think and act differently and that what we are learning in our classes is not just impacting us sometime in the future it's impacting us now and that's
been really impactful for me to be able to see okay how does my life now change because I'm not just here for an education I'm here to change others lives and then continue doing so after APU [Music]
