[music] [music] >> Many people believe that casting a spell requires special tools. The right colored candle, specific herbs, a magical oil perhaps, maybe a poppet or a talisman, which is and magicians widely use these kinds of magical tools and I use them myself and I teach others how to use them. But make no mistake.
The tools themselves are not the source of magic. I say this a lot and I want to reiterate it. Magical tools in spell casting have one main purpose and that is to give the mind something to focus on.
They engage the imagination to help us build a thought form. The thought form is the spell, not the tool. So when you light a candle for prosperity, your intention takes on physical form.
That engages the imagination. When you create a poppet for healing, the imagination has something tangible to work with. Sprinkling an herbal powder or a wash to clear a path helps you to visualize the path being cleared or enchanted in a specific way.
Maybe you use burning incense or smudge to cleanse a space. This creates a strong sense of clarity and renewal. So magical tools are very powerful, but a candle, a poppet, incense, wash, or powder are not the only tools that you can use.
An ordinary everyday activity can serve the exact same purpose. The name that I was given for this kind of operation was household magic. But, it's important to understand that it's not limited to the home.
Cleaning, cooking, ironing, sewing, gardening, driving, organizing, repairing, almost any kind of everyday activity can become the ritual form of a spell. The key, though, is that you're not trying to turn every task into magic. You don't need to cast a spell every time you wash a dish or sweep a floor.
That's exhausting, and it can make the magical work actually lose its significance. Instead, when you have a specific spell to cast, you can deliberately choose an everyday activity that gives the spell a physical form. For instance, let's say that your finances need some attention.
Maybe you have debts to pay, or tangled accounts, or money coming in that feels impossible to manage. You could pick a cluttered or messy space in your home or your office. Maybe a closet or a drawer, a desk, the garage, or some room.
Before you start your spell, you would take a moment to ground and center. What you're about to do isn't just cleaning the space, you are about to cast a real spell, build a real thought form. So, before you begin, you make a declaration such as, "As I bring this closet into order, so does the infinite bring my financial situation into divine order.
" Then you begin. As you clean the space, keep a gentle awareness of the magical purpose behind what you're doing. You are watching disorder become order.
And in doing so, you are giving your financial situation a visible, physical pattern to follow. Now, while you're doing this, your mind is going to wander. Do not be hard on yourself.
It's completely normal. Just gently guide your attention back each time you notice that it's drifted. You can repeat your declaration as you work.
As I bring this closet into order, so does the infinite bring my financial situation into divine order. Now, you don't need to repeat this constantly, and you don't need to visualize perfectly while you're doing this. Just do the work you're doing, and notice when your mind wanders.
Gently bring your attention back to why you're doing what you're doing. When the space is in order, close your spell. Use a final declaration such as, this space is now orderly, and so is my financial situation brought into divine order.
Brought into divine order. So mote it be. Then let it go.
Your spell has been cast. The thought form has been built, and as we say, let the work do the work. One of the most important parts of this practice is being specific about the spell you're casting.
Be specific about what you want to manifest or where you want to see change. Without a clear destination, your spell has nowhere to go. There is no clear thought form to build.
Try something like, as I bring this desk into order, so does the infinite bring my current business accounts into divine order. Or as I clean this drawer, so does the infinite clear every obstruction preventing the money owed to me from being paid. Or maybe as I organize these papers, so does the infinite bring this tax matter into perfect divine order?
Your spell doesn't need to dictate how the answer arrives or how the manifestation occurs. You definitely don't tell infinite intelligence which path it's supposed to take. I always like to say, "This or something even better.
" The same applies to harmony. Maybe you decide to cook for harmony. Harmony between whom and in what situation?
You could say something like, "As these ingredients blend together in perfect harmony, so are the members of this committee brought into peaceful and productive cooperation. " Now, the thought form has clear direction. The spell is precise.
When choosing an activity, ask yourself, "What am I trying to achieve? " Are you purifying, organizing, smoothing, repairing, joining, clearing, opening, nourishing, transforming? What are you doing?
Once you've identified your magical action, it's easy to find an everyday activity that might mirror it. If you're purifying something, washing, sweeping, vacuuming, rinsing, scrubbing, all great activities. If you're bringing order into some area of your life, then organizing a closet or sorting paperwork, arranging a room or untangling something.
If you're smoothing a difficulty out, ironing is excellent. If you're repairing a situation or restoring a situation, mending a garment, sewing a torn seam, or fixing an object in your home. If you're trying to bring things together, you might cook a dish that combines separate ingredients into a harmonious whole.
Now, when you're cooking for magic, in this particular working, we're not charming the dish so that you can feed it to people and they will be affected by your spell. You are using the cooking to perform your thought form and what you're giving other people to eat has no effect whatsoever on them other than they're being nourished and maybe given some good vibes. If you're removing an obstruction in your life, unclogging a drain, clearing a pathway, pulling weeds, if your spell involves moving from one situation to another, you might use a journey as the physical form of your spell, either driving or walking, taking a bus.
The connection between your intention and activity does not need to be complicated. In fact, the most obvious one is usually the most powerful. Your deep mind understands simplicity.
Cleaning is a natural fit for purification and clearing work. If your home is heavy or full of negative energy, perhaps there was an argument, you could use washing floors or vacuuming carpets as a spell for clearing. Before you begin, you can say, as I remove dirt from these floors, so does the infinite clear every angry vibration from this home.
Then clean with a calm, focused attention and repeat the statement as you work. But don't force anything. Simply notice that the physical dirt is being removed and let that action carry the intention of your clearing.
When you're done, say, these floors are clean and so is my home cleared of all angry energy and restored to peace. So mote it be. You can apply the same approach to other situations.
Wash a garment to release the energy of an unpleasant experience. Remove a stain to remove guilt. Clean your windows when you need clarity about a specific situation.
For example, as I clean this window, so does the infinite clear my perception concerning this employment decision. I see the right path clearly. Notice the precision here.
This is not a general request for clarity. It's clarity about a specific matter. Ironing is a powerful way to smooth out difficulties.
If you're facing a situation that feels unnecessarily hard, find something that needs some ironing. As I smooth every wrinkle from this fabric, so does the infinite smooth every difficulty from this negotiation. As you iron, watch as the wrinkles disappear and let that smoothing action reinforce your intention.
More force does not create more magic. Merely let the heat and the steam and the movement do their work while you gently stay focused. Sewing and mending work well when something needs to be healed, restored, or brought back together.
As I mend this seam, so does the infinite restore my relationship with Susan according to the divine design. That last phrase matters. You're working for restoration according to the divine design, not trying to force another person to act according to your will.
The divine design of a relationship might mean reconciliation, peaceful resolution, or a healthy separation without bitterness. You can name the situation and the healing that you hope without trying to control exactly how the answer unfolds. Cooking offers a rich set of actions that we can use intentionally.
You could combine ingredients, grind, mix, season, sweeten, heat, and transform them, allowing things to develop over time. If you need a group of people to work together harmoniously, you might prepare a soup, a stew, or a sauce. A dish where many ingredients blend harmoniously into one.
As you cook, you could say, as these ingredients combine in perfect harmony, so do the members of this family cooperate peacefully in the care of our mother. Now, you have a clear intention to work with. You might need the dough for the spell of growth of a particular business or project.
And as the dough rises, you have a tangible image of that endeavor expanding. Something that bakes or simmers can represent that needs time to unfold. You prepare it properly, place it in the heat, and then let the process continue without interfering.
This is a useful pattern for many types of magical work. Just like you don't keep opening the oven door every 30 seconds out of anxiety, you trust the process of your magic to develop properly. You can also use a small amount of sugar to sweeten a situation or season a dish to attract favor in a particular matter.
The ingredient itself is not always what matters most. What matters is the clear, focused intention you build throughout the entire activity. A journey can symbolize moving from one condition to another.
Before you start driving or walking or taking the bus, you might make a declaration such as, as I travel safely from this place to my destination, so does the infinite guide me safely and directly from unemployment to the right work. Then drive or travel normally. Your attention belongs to the road first if you're driving.
Magical focus should never get in the way of a safe drive. There's no need to chant continuously or enter an altered state. The journey itself carries the intention.
You start in one place, travel your path, and arrive somewhere new. When you reach the destination, close the working. As I have arrived at my destination, so am I now brought to my right employment according to the divine design.
So mote it be. The journey isn't just a symbol you're thinking about. It's the physical act through which the spell takes shape.
You don't need specialized magical tools for this work, but you can incorporate magical substances when appropriate. For example, you might add a pinch of sugar to your wash water for sweetness, mix an herbal infusion, or add a spray or two of perfume. Maybe even apply a small amount of essential oil to dress an object involved in the work.
The key is restraint. You don't need a half a bottle of perfume or large amounts of essential oil. More substance does not mean more power.
Just use practical judgment. Don't add anything to food unless it's safe to eat. Avoid oils that might damage floors or fabrics or appliances.
Be mindful of children, pets, allergies, and others in your space. These additions are always optional. The ordinary activity, deliberately chosen and magically dedicated, is always enough on its own.
Household magic is especially useful when you want to practice your craft discreetly. Maybe you live with people who don't understand your practice. Maybe you're traveling, or you simply just don't have the privacy to set up an altar or to perform a visible ritual.
No one needs to know you're casting a spell. To anyone watching, you're just washing the dishes or ironing a shirt, cooking dinner, organizing a drawer, pulling weeds, or driving to the store. But you know that a magical operation has begun.
That's why the opening declaration matters. It signals to the deep mind that this activity has been set apart for a magical purpose. You begin it deliberately, perform it attentively, and close it completely.
No force or rigidity is ever needed in this or any magical practice. Your intention is clear, but your attention is always gentle. Let the mind wander, that's what it does.
When you notice that your thoughts are drifting elsewhere, gently return your focus to your charm and the meaning behind what you're doing. The physical activity supports you. You don't need to imagine every detail of what you want, because you can see and feel the process unfolding in front of you.
The room is becoming orderly. The stain is fading. The fabric is smoothing.
The drain is clearing. The torn seam is being mended. The ingredients are coming together into one dish.
The weeds are being cleared. The old clothes are being put into a bag and ready to be given to the charity shop. The activity gives your imagination something real and tangible to work with.
Many operations of household magic only need to be performed once. You clean the closet, close the spell, and release it. But sometimes blood forms need repetition to build.
If so, choose an activity that you can repeat naturally daily. Washing dishes, sweeping, ironing, driving a familiar route, watering plants, or preparing a meal. Perform the spell no more than once per day.
Open the operation each time. Perform the activity with gentle focus and close it completely before finishing. Continue this daily until you feel peace and certainty about the matter.
Once that feeling arrives, stop working. Peace and certainty are signals to you that your thought form has been established. Now you cast the spell completely.
Forget about the whole thing and move on to something else. When we repeat our spells, we're doing that to build faith and intensity, not to rehearse anxiety. Household magic follows a simple structure.
Start by defining your spell clearly, then choose an everyday activity that physically reflects that magical intention. Ground and center before you start, open the spell with a clear declaration so your deep mind understands it has begun. Perform your task with gentle focus.
When your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your intention. Once the task is complete, close it with a definite declaration, then let it go. The task may look completely ordinary.
That's the idea. But, it has given your spell a physical form. The tools of the craft exist to serve the mind.
Once you understand that, you'll start to see how many magical instruments have been around you all along. The broom, the needle, the iron, the kitchen, the pots, the pans, the road, the bus, the car. The ordinary activities become ritual forms for our spells.
Do the work, complete the work, and then let the work do the work. Thank you so much for listening. I so appreciate you.
