Kyoko is chosen as the class president since people find that she is kind and popular. As her classmates congratulate her, Suyoshi suddenly arrives covered in injuries. The teacher checks if he's all right before asking him to introduce himself. Kyoko watches him curiously as he's assigned the desk next to hers. As she observes him, Kyoko can't help but notice how his appearance contrasts with his name. Over the next few days, Suyoshi keeps showing up with fresh injuries sparking Kyoko's concern. During lunch, she vents her worries to her classmate May admitting she's extremely curious about what's going
on. She wonders if Suyoshi is a victim of bullying or even worse domestic violence. May feels suspicious over Kyoko's concern but suggests they follow him after school to uncover the truth. As you just that trailing him from a distance since Suyoshi walks normally, May assumes nothing dangerous is happening. Kyoko insists they keep watching but gets distracted when she notices May's bow is untied. By the time she looks towards him, he's already hit his head on a tree branch. As they continue observing, they notice him bumping into things most people would avoid. They quickly conclude that
Suyoshi isn't being bullied. The injuries are there because he's just incredibly clumsy. Still, Kyoko can't Help but worry even more. Later, the two girls part ways to head home. On her way home Kyoko notices a little girl with scraped knees and rushes over to check on her. The girl explains tearfully that she fell after almost getting hit by a bike. Kyoko takes out the first aid kit she always carries due to having younger siblings who often get hurt and gently patches the girl up. Once she's sure the girl is fine, Kyoko lets her run off
to find her mother. Just then, Suyoshi Appears nearby. >> [music] >> Startled, Kyoko realizes he must have noticed her and May following him earlier. Holding his bleeding nose, Suyoshi admits he felt someone watching him and decided to follow that presence only to discover it was Kyoko. She immediately apologizes confessing that her curiosity and concern pushed her to trail him. Inwardly, she panics imagining how the entire student body Would ridicule her as word spread that she was stalking Suyoshi. Certain that he now sees her as a creep, Kyoko braces for the worst. But instead, Suyoshi gently
smiles. He tells her he finds her kindness and worry touching and explains that his countless injuries are simply the result of his clumsiness. He bids her farewell leaving Kyoko staring blankly into space stunned that he called her kind. Even when she returns home to her siblings, she's Still bewildered. To her, what she did was simply normal. She goes about her routine in an odd daze as she thinks of Suyoshi. Before turning off the lights in her siblings' room, she notices that she had caught Suyoshi's nosebleed. The next day, Kyoko checks in on Suyoshi and learns
he made one of his finger injuries worse by jamming it into something. Out of curiosity, she asks if he's ever caught a cold. Suyoshi beams as he replies that he's never had one in His life, though he admits he gets injured often. Kyoko thinks it's an odd thing to be proud about but Kyoko notices fresh blood trickling from his forehead and alerts him. Suyoshi realizes it must have been from when he hit a signboard on his way to school. He excuses himself to head to the nurse's office and Kyoko follows out of worry. On the
way, she fails to notice a group of boys about to bump into her. Luckily, Suyoshi sees it coming and quickly pulls Her toward him. Realizing how close he's holding her, he immediately lets go and apologizes. As he picks up his dropped handkerchief, Suyoshi remarks that he doesn't mind getting hurt as long as the people around him stay safe. He assures her not to worry since he's sturdy enough to take a little pain. But this doesn't ease Kyoko's concern. Later, she confides in May who brushes it off telling her to focus on more important things like
their upcoming tests. Yet as May listens to how much Suyoshi occupies Kyoko's thoughts, she comes to the conclusion that Kyoko must have a crush on him. The words make Kyoko freeze as if she's only now realizing her own feelings. The following morning, Suyoshi greets her first and to Kyoko's surprise, he has no new injuries. She studies his face closely noticing how clear and handsome his features look without being hidden behind bandages. Her cheeks heat up and out of Embarrassment, she suddenly blurt out that their class needs to attend an assembly during first period and they
should line by the hallway. For the rest of the day, Kyoko is in a daze. Even when she returns home, her mind is restless and she ends up unable to sleep a single wink. When she admits this to May, her friend is shocked that it took her so long to realize her feelings. Kyoko hurriedly tells her to keep quiet because no one else can know. She can't Help but wonder how to act around Suyoshi now, especially since she feels shyer every time he's near. As classes begin, Kyoko notices Suyoshi is absent and wonders if he
might have finally caught a cold. But when he fails to show up for several days, she begins to worry. Even May remarks that his absence feels unusual. Kyoko wants to check on him at home but she doesn't know where he lives or even how to contact him. One afternoon while returning her classes' Workbooks to the faculty room, Kyoko finds the teacher too busy on the phone to acknowledge her. As she waits, she overhears the teacher asking about Suyoshi who is apparently in the hospital. When she hears the words truck involvement, the color drains from her
face. Panic seizes her and she bolts from school sprinting straight to the nearest hospital. Out of breath and dragging her feet, she heads to the receptionist to inquire about his Room only to spot Suyoshi standing right beside her >> [music] >> sporting even more injuries than usual. They sit together and Suyoshi explains that he was nearly hit by a truck but managed to run fast enough to avoid it. Unfortunately, he couldn't stop in time and ended up crashing straight into a wall. He reassures her that he's only in the hospital for some final medical examinations
and that he'll be cleared To return to school tomorrow. Overcome with relief, Kyoko lightly teases him asking if he managed to injure his usual finger as well. When he confirms it, she bursts out laughing. Suyoshi admits he's happy she skipped class just to check on him causing Kyoko to freeze in realization of her own actions. He then asks if she can give him tomorrow's class schedule since his phone was crushed in the accident and he has no way to contact anyone. Kyoko's shoulders Begin to shake with laughter again leaving Suyoshi staring at her with curious
eyes. From that day forward, the two steadily grow closer. One morning, Kyoko notices a new bandage on the back of his neck and asks about it. Suyoshi sheepishly explains that he simply slept wrong and now has a stiff neck making it hard to turn his head. Even if Suyoshi insists she doesn't need to hold back from talking to him, Kyoko feels guilty worrying that he only sees her as a Seatmate and nothing more. During break, she vents her frustration to May. May reassures her that she and Suyoshi already seem like good friends but adds that
there's still a tall wall between them. The words strike deeper than May intended. As Kyoko watches Suyoshi cleaning the board, she realizes just how naturally kind and friendly he is to everyone and realizes that there is a wall preventing them from becoming closer. As Kyoko observes Suyoshi Throughout the day, she notices he seems to prefer keeping to himself rather than hanging out with others. Standing at the shoe locker, she feels disheartened wondering if she can ever break down the invisible wall between them. On her walk home, she spots Suyoshi walking a few paces ahead and
remembers the sad expression he wore when he spoke of being fine on his own. Over the weekend, Kyoko suddenly declares in front of her siblings and May that she wants to Become good friends with Suyoshi. May, however, looks unimpressed as she listens to Kyoko's reasoning. Kyoko explains that she wants Suyoshi to feel at ease around her rather than constantly worrying that she might get hurt. As she wonders how to make that happen, her younger brother Soda tugs too hard on the bag of chips May is holding spilling them all over the room. May only gives
him a playful knock on the head before turning back to Kyoko Insisting she'll need a proper plan if she wants to get closer to Suyoshi. The next day, Kyoko tries her first strategy eating a bunch of homemade cookies in front of Suyoshi hoping it will tempt him to start a conversation. But before he can even ask for one, the classmates swarm around begging for cookies. As the class happily digs in, Kyoko prepares to hand Suyoshi a bag hoping this gesture will be the first step to breaking down his wall. But before she gets the Chance,
May urgently tells her that every cookie is already been eaten by their classmates. May barely managed to taste one herself while Haruto happily announced that he ate two bags. Kyoko, however, is too preoccupied with her failed plan silently swearing in her heart that she will find a way to break through Suyoshi's wall. She moves on to the next strategy by announcing she forgot her textbook. But in the process, he accidentally jams his fingers earning Yet another injury. Though Kyoko continues to try, each attempt to get closer only seems to leave Suyoshi more battered. Eventually, she
finds herself in an empty staircase feeling utterly defeated. She begins to think that fate is against her because her presence is only causing Suyoshi more injuries. Suyoshi notices Kyoko sitting on the stairs and walks over to check if she's all right. Flustered, she quickly composes herself and instead Asks about his injuries. Suyoshi reassures her that they're all fine. Feeling guilty, Kyoko panics when he turns to [music] leave. Without thinking, she tugs on his uniform collar accidentally popping off two of his buttons. >> [music] >> Embarrassed, she hurriedly apologizes for all her unnecessary actions that caused
his injuries and now for ruining his uniform. Suyoshi feels an odd warmth At her frantic honesty. Though he tries to hold it back, he eventually bursts into laughter [music] telling her that the buttons popping off were actually a funny surprise. As Kyoko watches him laugh, she notices how sloppily his finger bandages are wrapped most likely because the nurse wasn't around. An idea sparks and she asks Suyoshi to let her treat his injuries instead. Showing him her small first aid kit, she proudly claims she's the best at patching people Up. Though surprised, Suyoshi agrees and gives
his hand to Kyoko. Kyoko carefully rewraps the bandages making them neat and secure. After being satisfied with her work, she admits she wants to be good friends with him but wonders aloud what else she can do for him besides tending to his injuries. Suyoshi stares at her in shock >> [music] >> and Kyoko realizes too late that her words sounded dangerously close to a Confession. Softening, he gently smiles back saying it feels nice to be cared for so deeply by her. He admits that what he truly wants is a normal high school life where he
can hang out with friends and enjoy after school activities like everyone else. Moved, Kyoko's eyes well with tears. She declares that they'll live their high school lives to the fullest together. Smiling, Suyoshi then adds that her cookies were delicious leaving Kyoko Stunned since she thought he never got the chance to try them. The next day at school, May asks Kyoko if she and Suyoshi are already dating. The question startles Kyoko, as they do seem close, but she quickly explains that she's only helping him experience a normal high school life. Neither of them really knows what
that means, so they start asking people around school. However, everyone gives different answers, which only makes them more confused. Later, While May and Kyoko sit together thinking it over, Kyoko hears Haruto greet Suyoshi as he arrives in class. She looks up and notices a flower tucked into Suyoshi's shirt pocket. When Haruto points it out, Suyoshi is just as surprised as he is, as he had no idea it was there all this time. May and Kyoko move closer, intrigued by the strange situation. Suyoshi recalls passing by a woman carrying a bouquet on his way to school,
so he assumes that the flowers Must have come from her. However, when he checks his pants pocket and discovers another flower tucked inside, everyone begins to doubt it was just a coincidence. As Suyoshi carefully inspects the flowers, Kyoko can't help but admire the peaceful moment. [music] Suyoshi mentions he might plant them, but when he catches Kyoko watching him so intently, he suddenly offers the flowers to her without hesitation. Kyoko freezes, and it takes her a moment to Respond, but then she enthusiastically snatches the flowers from his hand. Kyoko thinks this will finally be the start
of Suyoshi's normal high school life, but after taking only a few steps away from her, he suddenly stumbles and falls flat on the floor, scattering his lunch everywhere. They soon learn that he almost never finishes lunch every day because something always happens. Embarrassed, Suyoshi admits it's true, as he somehow drops it every single Time. Finding it hard to believe, Kyoko comes up with an idea. Haruto then asks where Suyoshi usually eats, since he always disappears during lunchtime. When he brings them to his spot, they're surprised to find a dimly lit, isolated staircase far from other
students. Suyoshi explains that he eats there to avoid causing trouble for others. Wanting to change that, Kyoko volunteers that they should all eat together there from now on. With that, the three agree to eat lunch with Suyoshi, but the sky outside gray as they settle down. They share their food while Suyoshi eats a sweet bun he bought from the school store. As Kyoko watches him, she thinks this could be the first real step toward a normal high school life. However, when the weather suddenly worsens and the surroundings grow darker, she realizes this situation is anything
but normal. They can barely see, so they switch on their Flashlights, unintentionally making the scene look like a group of ghosts gathered in a hidden staircase. With the eerie atmosphere, they start telling spooky stories. While excitedly acting out, Haruto bumps into a trash can, which crashes into Suyoshi just as he's about to take a bite of his sweet bun. Both Suyoshi and his bun end up on the floor. So, the next day, they decide to just eat in the courtyard instead. They all agree to eat in the courtyard This time. On their way, they pass
by some planted flowers, which reminds Suyoshi of the ones he gave Kyoko. She explains that they're currently at her house. In the courtyard, they finally enjoy a proper lunch break together. However, just as Suyoshi is about to eat the last piece of his hash brown, a crow swoops down and snatches it away, leaving everyone stunned. In the following days, Suyoshi's streak of bad luck continues. He keeps getting caught In bizarre accidents with objects hitting him out of nowhere and causing him nosebleeds. Even the fortune gratnappy uses gives him the worst luck reading, and his hash
brown even starts to look sinister. No matter what he does, disaster follows, and Kyoko begins to forget what a normal lunch break feels like. But just as she's bawling, Suyoshi steps in and thanks her. He's made up his mind to keep his distance from everyone, believing that his Presence only brings misfortune to those around him. Although the others don't see it that way, Suyoshi insists that he doesn't want to ruin their peace anymore. Despite their hesitation, he decides to eat alone again the next day. His words make Kyoko tear up, and as he walks away,
she suddenly calls out to him, volunteering to cook him one starting tomorrow. Everyone is shocked by her sudden declaration, but she insists, Saying it would be a waste if he didn't eat it. This is the only way she can think of to make sure Suyoshi keeps eating with them. That night at home, Kyoko rummages through recipe books looking for delicious and healthy meal ideas she can try. Sure enough, the next day, they return to the staircase for lunch. The packed lunch Kyoko prepared for Suyoshi looks amazing, and they also notice the place seems much brighter
than before. As it turns out, Kyoko Asked the custodian to replace the broken light bulbs, so the space feels warm and welcoming again. As they prepare to eat, Haruto reaches out to grab an egg roll from the lunch Kyoko made, but May quickly stops him. Instead, Suyoshi takes the first bite. Watching him, Kyoko grows nervous about his reaction, but to her surprise, his eyes widen in delight as he's immediately taken aback by how delicious it is. His bright expression only makes Haruto want to taste it even more. However, May stops him once again and claims
the next bite is for herself, insisting she deserves it because she's Kyoko's best friend. >> [music] >> Just like Suyoshi, May lights up the moment she tastes the food. Haruto grows desperate to try it, too, but May teases him by running around with the egg roll in her hand, keeping it away from him. The playful chase makes Suyoshi burst into laughter. Kyoko pauses for a moment, watching him, realizing this is the first time she's ever seen him laugh so loudly. Even May, who was busy earlier, suddenly pauses to watch Kyoko [music] and Suyoshi laughing together.
She's happy to see her best friend making progress with him. While she's lost in thought, Haruto suddenly takes a bite of the egg roll in her hand. Impressed by Kyoko's cooking, Haruto Wants to compliment her, but May doesn't want him to interrupt the two, so they end up scrambling playfully. In the process, they accidentally knock over a box full of items down the stairs. Unfortunately, it hits Suyoshi, who falls face-first onto the floor. Kyoko rushes to his side and calls out to him, but he doesn't get up right away. After a while, Suyoshi finally opens
his eyes and notices that his lunch box still has his hash brown intact. Without Hesitation, he eats it in one bite. Everyone cheers happily as he finally gets to enjoy his favorite food. He manages to finish lunch, though Kyoko has to bandage him afterward. While bandaging him, Kyoko realizes how small moments like this can make her so happy. She wants to say something more, but struggles to find the right words. Finally, she blurts it out. She wants to eat lunch with Suyoshi every day from now on. Hearing this, Suyoshi smiles Brightly. However, blood suddenly starts
dripping from his forehead, and he faints on the spot. Panicked, they decide to bring him to the nurse. Even unconscious, his face still wears a peaceful smile. That afternoon, they head to art class, where they are tasked with drawing each other's faces. Students are paired with their seatmates, which means Kyoko and Suyoshi end up together. Just as they're about to begin, Kyoko notices that Suyoshi has somehow managed to get himself stuck in the easel already. After a few minutes, they finally free him, though his hands end up slightly injured. Once things settle down, they begin
drawing each other, but their constant chatting distracts them. The teacher eventually reminds them to focus, or they'll have to stay longer to finish their work. As time passes, the students begin working on their portraits, with each of them drawing Their respective seatmate. Meanwhile, May struggles to draw Haruto because he [music] won't stop making silly faces in front of her. But when her gaze shifts to Kyoko and Suyoshi, she notices how focused they both are. Neither of them even looks up to see each other's faces. Seeing their concentration motivates her to try harder as well. Kyoko's
focus, however, is soon interrupted when Suyoshi's easel suddenly collapses. She can't quite understand how that could Happen again, but the teacher quickly approaches and reassures him, explaining that the easels are old and probably rotten already. Deep down, Kyoko and Suyoshi both know the teacher is just trying to make them feel better, so they simply bow to apologize. To keep going, they decide to use the table instead of the easel. As Kyoko watches Suyoshi sharpen his pencil with a cutter, she tries to start a conversation. But before she can say Anything, the pencil snaps and the
blade slips, giving Suyoshi another small cut on his finger. >> [music] >> After 20 minutes, a few students have already raised their hands to signal they're finished. May, however, can't help but notice that Kyoko and Suyoshi are the ones left furthest behind, even though they are the ones exerting the most effort. Suyoshi keeps muttering quiet apologies and thanks to Kyoko, Which flusters her, but she forces herself to focus on her drawing. Still, she can't shake off the thought that she's never been this close to him before. Her gaze lingers on Suyoshi as he rests his
chin on his hand, still holding the pencil. The scene already makes Kyoko's heart flutter, but then another small disaster strikes as the pencil's tip accidentally pierces the skin on his face, causing it to bleed. Kyoko panics at this, but Suyoshi Remains calm and simply pulls out a handkerchief to wipe the blood away. For a brief moment, Kyoko admires the scene before her. She meets Suyoshi's eyes, and he looks back at her. Her heart begins to pound loudly. Then Suyoshi simply comments on how long her eyelashes are. He says they look like a kind of defensive
mechanism because they protect the eyes from debris, leaving Kyoko both stunned and speechless. Kyoko casually mentions that her long Eyelashes are genetic, but soon realizes just how over the moon she is from Suyoshi's comment. In that moment, she finally admits to herself that she has a big crush on him, even though he doesn't seem to feel the same way. He can't even properly pin his paper for one. Still, she pushes those thoughts aside and focuses on finishing her drawing. They continue working until time runs out. Before collecting their works, the teacher instructs everyone to show
their Drawings to each other. May's drawing of Haruto turns out terrible, but she defends herself, >> [music] >> saying it's because he spent the entire time making silly faces, making it impossible for her to draw him properly. What shocks her, however, is that Haruto's drawing of her is almost a perfect replica. Curious, May asks Suyoshi and Kyoko if they're finished. She wants to see their drawings, but Kyoko hesitates, worried that her feelings might show through the drawing. But when she finally hands it over, both May and Suyoshi are stunned, as it looks absolutely nothing like
Suyoshi at all. With that, they turn to Suyoshi to see his drawing. To their surprise, it looks stunning, despite the couple of injuries he got while working on it. Everyone is impressed by how skillfully he captured Kyoko's features, and even Kyoko becomes flustered seeing how good she looks in His drawing. Despite her own terrible sketch, Suyoshi compliments Kyoko and asks if they can take a picture together with their portraits. Blushing, she agrees. They sit next to each other, holding up their drawings proudly, while May snaps a photo of them. It's a simple moment, but it
feels special. The next day, while everyone else is getting ready for PE, Kyoko is completely absorbed in her phone, Staring at the photo of her and Tsuyoshi. It's only when May reminds her that class is about to start that she snaps out of it. When they arrive at the school gym, they're immediately greeted by a flying ball that smacks straight into Tsuyoshi's face. Everyone gasps in surprise, but Tsuyoshi stays composed even as his nose starts bleeding. A moment later, it's announced that their regular teacher is absent and a substitute will be handling their Class. He
decides they'll be playing dodgeball, which earns cheers from the students until he adds that the shuttle run has been rescheduled for next week, causing their excitement to fade. The teacher splits the class into two teams. As usual, they divide the boys and girls through a round of rock, paper, scissors. As everyone gathers to play, Kyoko silently hopes she'll end up on the same team as Tsuyoshi. However, when the Results are decided, she finds herself on the opposing team. Kyoko immediately starts stressing over it, wishing she had chosen scissors instead. She worries that she won't be
able to protect Tsuyoshi from getting injured during the game. Once the teams are set, the teacher blows his whistle to signal the start of the dodgeball match, but nobody moves. It turns out they still need to determine which team will serve first, so the students suggest doing a jump Ball. Kyoko's team quickly chooses Hashiba to jump since he's big and strong. The opposing team takes longer to decide until Haruto suggests Tsuyoshi should do it because of his athletic ability. Everyone stares at him in surprise for a moment, but Tsuyoshi eventually agrees. As the two jumpers
face each other, the instructor prepares to throw the ball. Whispers ripple through the gym as many students are unsure about Tsuyoshi. When the teacher finally tosses the ball, Hashiba hesitates after noticing that Tsuyoshi is actually left-handed. Meanwhile, Tsuyoshi leaps higher than Hashiba and successfully wins the jump. The gym immediately erupts with cheers for Tsuyoshi, while Hashiba's teammates gather to comfort him. Kyoko, however, despite losing the jump, looks unreasonably thrilled, leaving her teammates confused. As the game begins, Kyoko can't take her eyes off Tsuyoshi. Her mind replays the moment he coolly out-jumped Hashiba, but her expression
quickly hardens. She knows the game has just started and anything can happen before it ends. Even if she wants to help him, they're on opposing teams, so it'll be difficult. Just then, May suddenly speaks up behind Kyoko. While they're chatting, Kyoko fails to notice the ball flying straight toward her. Fortunately, Hashiba reacts quickly and catches it just in time. Kyoko Apologizes in a panic, and Hashiba sternly reminds her to focus on the game. Still, even in the middle of the action, she can't get Tsuyoshi out of her head. Moments later, cheers echo as Tsuyoshi effortlessly
catches the ball. He steps forward, preparing to throw. His teammates wonder if he's actually going to pull it off, but to their surprise, he hurls the ball with incredible force, almost knocking his opponent down when it hits. >> [music] >> The gym erupts in cheers once again, and Kyoko finds herself admiring him even more. However, despite his skill, the ball has already hit Tsuyoshi multiple times. Thanks to the face doesn't count rule, he's still in the game, but his nose is bleeding again from all the hits. As the game wears on, Kyoko's teammates are eliminated
one by one. Instead of focusing, Kyoko's mind is completely Occupied by Tsuyoshi. Then, by chance, Kyoko manages to catch the ball, earning her the opportunity to throw it back at the opposing team. The crowd erupts in cheers, but her excitement quickly fades when she realizes that the only two players left on the court are her and Tsuyoshi. She's supposed to aim at him, but the thought of hitting him makes her freeze. She wants to protect him. Conflicted, she clutches the ball nervously, and when she finally throws, It comes out as a complete disaster. The entire
gym falls silent, stunned by her unexpected failure. Kyoko quickly apologizes to her teammates, pretending her poor throw was just a mistake. Deep down, however, she knows her personal feelings completely got in the way. The next throw is given to Hashiba. The gym buzzes with excitement as everyone cheers for Tsuyoshi to dodge. But when Hashiba hurled the ball toward him, Tsuyoshi doesn't move. He simply raises One hand to shield himself and manages to touch the ball, but fails to catch it. With that, the game ends and Kyoko's team wins. Her friends rush over to her, showering
her with congratulations, but her eyes drift toward a corner where Tsuyoshi is quietly tending to his face. So, she decides to take him to the nurse's office. Inside, both Kyoko and the nurse stare at his face, which is bruised in several places. The nurse Assumes someone must have made fun of him, but when Tsuyoshi explains that it all came from dodgeball, the nurse can hardly believe it. As they leave the nurse's office, Kyoko can't hold back her curiosity any longer and brings up the moment at the end of the game, saying she suspects Tsuyoshi might
have lost on purpose. But Tsuyoshi immediately denies it, insisting he simply messed up. Kyoko hesitates, but decides to trust his words. Before they Part ways, she suddenly thanks him for being so cool during the game. The compliment catches Tsuyoshi completely off guard, as he's more used to being seen as pitiful and not cool. Later in class, Kyoko confides in May, sharing her thoughts about Tsuyoshi and her suspicion that he's just pretending not to notice her feelings. >> [music] >> As she walks down the hallway, Kyoko witnesses a boy accidentally bumping Into a tall stack of
books, scattering them across the floor. A kind girl immediately kneels down to help him pick them up. The boy's flustered reaction is quite obvious. With this, Kyoko comes to the conclusion that boys can react strongly to even the smallest act of kindness. >> [music] >> Yet in her case, she's already given Tsuyoshi countless compliments and thoughtful gestures, but he still seems Completely blind to her feelings. When school ends, Kyoko walks out the gate trying to shake off her thoughts about him. But as she strolls down the street, she spots someone with their head slumped into
a bush and instantly assumes it's Tsuyoshi. To her surprise, when the person lifts their head, it's actually a total stranger. Still, she follows him discreetly and quickly confirms her suspicion. This man stumbles into accidents wherever he Goes, just like Tsuyoshi. When she glances away for a moment and looks back, the man is already [music] gone. She can't help but laugh at herself a little for following a complete stranger out of concern. Then, after taking a few steps, Kyoko suddenly notices a man wedged awkwardly between two walls. His sudden appearance startles her, but she quickly rushes
over to check on him. She manages to pull him free, and the man thanks her. It turns out his wallet had fallen into the narrow gap, and while trying to retrieve it, he ended up getting himself stuck as well. But just as Kyoko reminds him to be careful, he immediately bumps into a nearby post. Now genuinely concerned, she pretends she's heading in the same direction just to make sure he gets home safely. The man also notices her school uniform and realizes she attends the same school as His son. Before long, they arrive at the man's
house. He thanks Kyoko once again for helping him and bids her goodbye before heading inside. Just then, Tsuyoshi appears as well. Tsuyoshi invites Kyoko inside their home, and it turns out that the man from earlier is actually his father. Suddenly, Kyoko finds herself in an awkward situation, sitting inside her crush's house. Her mind races as she tries to figure out what to do, and in Her nervousness, she ends up gulping down a full glass of iced tea in [music] one go. Meanwhile, Tsuyoshi and his father casually talk about her as the class president, leaving her
overwhelmed. Noticing Kyoko's empty glass, Tsuyoshi stands to refill it, but he accidentally stubs his toe on the table leg, causing him to stumble and slump against a post. Fortunately, their house is covered with corner guards, so he avoids serious injury, though a small Cut still bleeds. To Kyoko's surprise, they are fully prepared for situations like this, with a cabinet filled with adhesives and bandages that she initially mistook for a bookshelf earlier. As she steps in to help, Tsuyoshi's father wonders aloud if his son always causes her trouble, prompting her to deny it quickly. She even
begins listing the things she admires about Tsuyoshi and nearly blurted out her feelings Before stopping herself. Meanwhile, Tsuyoshi remains clueless. Then, Tsuyoshi's phone beeps, and he receives a message from his mother, prompting him to step outside to help her with the groceries. Kyoko considers leaving as well, but Tsuyoshi's father suddenly speaks up, casually asking if she likes his son. Startled, she's unable to hide her reaction, but to her surprise, he simply laughs warmly, genuinely pleased by the Thought that someone truly cares about Tsuyoshi. He goes on to explain that Tsuyoshi inherited his tendency to focus
so much on protecting himself that he rarely thinks about how others see him or whether anyone might have feelings for him. Because of this, he often fails to notice when someone likes him. Kyoko is left unsure how to respond. Sensing her sincerity, Tsuyoshi's father gently encourages her to keep staying by his side and remain close to him for the Long run. A few moments later, Tsuyoshi returns, explaining that his mother ran into some friends and decided to stay behind. With a cheerful expression, he hands Kyoko a bag filled with snacks from a small store behind
their house that he has loved since childhood, and even points out a flavor for her to try. He explains that it's his way of thanking Kyoko. In that moment, Kyoko realizes that all this time she believed Tsuyoshi was ignoring her feelings. But In truth, he's been responding to her in his own quiet ways. With that, she decides to remain friends with him and take things slowly. Just then, a frightening portrait suddenly appears beside her, startling her. It turns out to be a self-portrait of Tsuyoshi's father, painted in an unexpectedly bold and intense style, and they
seem quite proud of it. This makes Kyoko tell herself that Tsuyoshi's family truly is full of mysteries. The next day, Tsuyoshi visits the snack store and ends up carrying a lot of snacks. While he's there, the elderly woman who runs the shop accidentally drops a box of snacks due to sudden back pain. Concerned, Tsuyoshi quickly rushes over to check on her, but she reassures him that she'll be fine after a short rest. At the same time, a group of kids begins complaining about the malfunctioning snack machine, but she can't even stand up due to her
back pain. Seeing this, Tsuyoshi Volunteers to help her manage the store. Back to aid, Tsuyoshi spends his time attending to customers and arranging snacks inside the shop. He has always felt grateful to the store, so he's genuinely happy to lend a hand. Still, the old woman remains worried about managing the shop in the coming days, so Tsuyoshi suggests that he come by whenever he can to help out. Although he thinks his presence might be a bit of a hassle, the old woman gratefully accepts His offer. >> [music] >> After all, he's been visiting the store
for years without ever causing any trouble. However, she recalls one incident long ago when Tsuyoshi accidentally dropped his snacks right outside the store and a passing car ran over them, smashing everything to bits. The next day, Kyoko is relaxing at home reading a book when her phone suddenly beeps. She checks it and sees a message From Tsuyoshi saying he has just started working at the snack store and inviting her to visit. Panicking, Kyoko immediately rushes there. At the store, Tsuyoshi is surprised to see her arrive so quickly as he had just sent the message, but
Kyoko explains that she came right away using her bike. Kyoko looks around at the colorful snacks recalling how happy elementary kids loved going home with treats in hand. Tsuyoshi confirms they were his Customers earlier. Impressed, Kyoko praises his new job, so Tsuyoshi explains what happened to granny and why he decided to help out. Even though he still knew, the customers have been really kind to him. Proudly, he also shows Kyoko the sign she made for the snacks with each one featuring his signature dad jokes amusing her. Looking around, Kyoko is impressed by the wide range
of flavors available in the store. She even finds the exact one Tsuyoshi Once recommended to her. Tsuyoshi proudly shows her the new flavors they recently added, which ends up tempting Kyoko to fill an entire cart with snacks. She can't help but recognize how Tsuyoshi might actually be a marketing genius. The next day at school, Kyoko opens one of the snacks she bought while Hashiba was secretly watching her from afar. Suddenly, [music] Tsuyoshi bursts into the classroom covered in scratches and Small wounds as usual. Concerned, Kyoko approaches him to ask what happened. Tsuyoshi explains that he
tripped while walking through the courtyard and ended up falling face first into the bushes. He hadn't even realized some leaves were still stuck to him. When she notices a small cut on his cheek, she gently places a bandage on it and Tsuyoshi can only think of a shy smile. After that, Kyoko goes to clean herself up and that's when May suddenly Points out that she seems more relaxed lately. Curious, May asks if something happened and Kyoko recalls the words Tsuyoshi told her back at their home. She's always been anxious about many things, but his words
somehow made her realize that simply spending ordinary days with him already makes her feel happy. With that thought, Kyoko decides to take things easy and just enjoy every moment of her school days. While walking, May brings up the new Seating plan which instantly makes Kyoko scream in surprise. Later in class, Kyoko is the one to lead the seat lottery alongside Hashiba, but her mood is noticeably gloomy. Hashiba decides to let students with poor eyesight sit in front first. However, one student raises her hand with a suggestion reminding everyone that Tsuyoshi was once attacked by bees,
so it was agreed before that he shouldn't sit near the windows. Then Haruto raises his hand, too, adding That Tsuyoshi also shouldn't sit directly under the fluorescent lights since they might fall and hit his head. Surprisingly, the entire class agrees with both suggestions. They finally decide that the safest spot for Tsuyoshi is the center-most seat in the classroom. With everyone satisfied, Tsuyoshi can only smile and thank his classmates for their kind consideration. After that, it's time to draw everyone else's seats. The class scrambles around Cheering and laughing, but then Haruto speaks up again suggesting that
their class president, Kyoko, should sit beside Tsuyoshi since she's always taken care of him. Everyone quickly agrees to this and it's settled that Kyoko will sit beside Tsuyoshi from now on. Kyoko can't hide her joy and Tsuyoshi also expresses how happy he is about their new arrangement. While most students think the best seats are by the window, for Kyoko, sitting next to Tsuyoshi is More than enough. Overflowing with happiness, she even volunteers to pick up trash outside the classroom all by herself. Her classmates cheer for her enthusiasm watching as she gathers the trash with a
content smile on her face. At the garbage disposal area, Hashiba happens to spot Kyoko. She assumes he's just there to remind her about the committee meeting, but his reason is entirely different. Just as Kyoko is about to leave, Hashiba stops Her. He gathers all his courage and confesses that he actually likes her. Kyoko is completely stunned, but Hashiba quickly adds that he already knows she has feelings for Tsuyoshi. So, he doesn't expect her to go out with him or anything. He just needed to finally let his feelings out after keeping them bottled up for so
long. Before Kyoko can respond, the bell rings signaling the start of the committee meeting and they both rush toward the classroom. As they work on some paperwork for their class, Kyoko tries to act normal, but Hashiba notices the unease in her voice, so he tells her to forget everything he said earlier. Lost in thought, Kyoko accidentally messes up the staple papers she's holding and Hashiba tries his best not to laugh. Instead, he volunteers to fix the problem for her. In the past, the two of them were organizing papers chatting casually about the responsibilities of being
committee Leaders and how much work it actually took. To their surprise, they discovered that they were both fond of paperwork and even shared similar habits. One day, Kyoko wanted a purple drink from the vending machine, which shocked Haruto as everyone said it didn't taste good. Hashiba, still in line, noticed the drink they were talking about and realized it was red shiso juice, the same one he drank. Because of its mature flavor, Haruto admitted he had never Seen anyone else drink it besides Kyoko while Hashiba quietly hesitated wanting to mention that he enjoyed it, too. Another
day, Izumi noticed a red stain on Hashiba's uniform. At first, she panicked thinking it was blood, but Hashiba quickly explained that it was just paint his little sister had used for her school project the night before. Just then, Kyoko arrived with the same red stain on her sleeves and she admitted her little brother had also Been working on his school project the night before. Izumi couldn't help but comment on how similar they were, not only because they were both the eldest siblings in their families, but even in how they type messages, always formal and perfectly
punctuated. In the present, Hashiba and Kyoko stay behind again to finish some paperwork. As they talk, the storm outside grows stronger and Kyoko suddenly pauses. Hashiba assumes she's Afraid of thunder, which reminds him of a rumor about Tsuyoshi once being struck by lightning and surviving without injuries. He tries to bring it up, but Kyoko suddenly screams pretending to be worried about Tsuyoshi when it's clear she's scared of the thunder. To hide her embarrassment, she drops her notebook and accidentally bumps her head on the table making Hashiba quietly smile as he witnesses another side of her.
The next day, Hashiba catches sight of Kyoko Gently tending to Tsuyoshi in the classroom. With this, he stops himself from interrupting. From where he stands, it's painfully clear just how much Kyoko truly likes Tsuyoshi, so Hashiba steps back with a heavy heart and his thoughts start to darken. In the meeting while working on more paperwork, Kyoko accidentally gets a paper cut and Hashiba quickly hands her a bandage to cover it. As they continue, Hashiba seems uneasy and admits that he doesn't Actually want her to forget about his confession even though he took it back yesterday.
The following day, Kyoko's hands begin trembling from all the paperwork they've been doing lately. May notices this and reminds her of the promise she made to take things easy and simply enjoy her high school life. >> [music] >> Meanwhile, on his way home, Hashiba is quietly following Tsuyoshi from a distance. As it turns out, earlier he and his friends had planned to get takoyaki. The moment he saw Tsuyoshi, curiosity got the better of him. Watching Tsuyoshi walk, a plastic bag suddenly wraps awkwardly around his head, so Hashiba couldn't help but wonder why Kyoko even liked
him in the first place. Faced with this question, he ditched his friends and decided to follow Tsuyoshi hoping to understand everything. >> [music] >> Back in the present, Hashiba starts second-guessing his decision to follow Tsuyoshi, but before he can turn back, Tsuyoshi walks straight into a post. Tsuyoshi continues down the street and happens to pass by an old man trimming a tree nearby. Suddenly, the old man loses his grip on the cutter. Hashiba dashes forward and pulls him aside just in time. Startled, Tsuyoshi quickly thanks him grateful that Hashiba just saved him. But before He
can even react, a loose branch drops from above causing a nosebleed. With that, the two sit down on a nearby park bench. Tsuyoshi's nose won't stop bleeding, so Hashiba helps him even calmly explaining how to handle nosebleeds properly. He mentions that his little sister gets them often, so he's used to it. Tsuyoshi is touched by his kindness, but deep down Hashiba begins to see that Tsuyoshi is surprisingly friendly. Then, Tsuyoshi Hands Hashiba a snack he happened to buy earlier offering it as thanks for saving him. Hashiba is about to refuse, but his stomach suddenly growls.
[music] Embarrassed, he accepts the snack and offers to share it instead. Flustered, Tsuyoshi agrees and the two quietly begin eating together. Surprisingly, Tsuyoshi admits it's his first time ever sitting down and sharing a snack with someone like this, so Hashiba can't help but feel awkward Realizing he's casually hanging out in a park with his crushes crush. Their attention then drifts toward the nearby empty playground. They talk about how peaceful it feels having the place all to themselves and Tsuyoshi suddenly suggests they play for a bit. Soon, the two of them are bouncing back and forth
on the children's spring rides laughing despite how ridiculous it feels. Hashiba never imagined he'd end up doing something like this with Tsuyoshi, but As they continue to play, he realizes they're both genuinely having fun. Then, Tsuyoshi starts bouncing his ride left and right, but he loses balance and crashes straight into the ground hitting a nearby tree. Hashiba immediately rushes over to check on him and Tsuyoshi sheepishly explains that he was pretending he was racing through a mountain pass, but ended up messing up. Hashiba helps him back up telling him it was actually a pretty cool
idea and that He wants to try it, too. Watching Tsuyoshi laugh it off, Hashiba can't help but think that Tsuyoshi is just a genuinely nice person. The next day, Hashiba spots Tsuyoshi in class and immediately walks over to check on his cuts. This catches Kyoko's attention so much that she almost doesn't notice Hashiba's greetings as he passes by. Still thinking about yesterday, Hashiba can't forget how much fun they had. He realizes he genuinely wants to be Friends with Tsuyoshi now. So, after class, when everyone starts heading home, Hashiba stops Tsuyoshi to ask him whether he
has any feelings for Kyoko. Tsuyoshi looks confused by the sudden question forcing Hashiba to admit that he likes Kyoko himself. Since Tsuyoshi and Kyoko seem close, he just wants to be sure. Tsuyoshi grows flustered admitting he's always seen Kyoko as a good friend, but he isn't sure if that's truly enough. Hearing this, Hashiba's Expression darkens for a moment, but he still manages to tell Tsuyoshi that it's perfectly fine. Tsuyoshi then thanks him and leaves the classroom. while stands there, lost in thought. Later that day, during the committee meeting, Kyoko finds herself wondering how Hashiba and
Tsuyoshi suddenly became friends. She wants to ask him, but before she can the meeting ends. As everyone begins to leave, Hashiba approaches her first. Kyoko waits for what Hashiba is going to Say, but he simply wishes her good luck out of nowhere, leaving her even more confused. While Tsuyoshi, standing outside the door, quietly witnesses the whole scene. The next day in class, Izumi invites Kyoko to help her study, explaining that midterm week starts tomorrow and she's completely lost. She gushes about how smart Kyoko is, but deep down Kyoko panics. She knows she's not nearly as
brilliant as everyone believes. Despite being class president, Her grades are only average. Still, Kyoko can't bring herself to refuse Izumi's request. The moment she agrees, Izumi lights up with delight. When May arrives, Kyoko immediately pulls her close and mentions that she's ranked first in class. Hearing this, Izumi eagerly invites May to join their study session, too. To everyone's relief, May accepts, making both Kyoko and Izumi even happier. Just then, Tsuyoshi enters the room only to bump his head on a Cabinet door and fall flat on the floor. His academic charm tears apart in the process.
>> [music] >> Ignoring his bleeding nose, Tsuyoshi stares at the shredded charm in horror, devastated that it broke right before midterms. The three girls can only stare in stunned silence. Seeing his distress, Kyoko gently suggests that he join their study session later. After class, the five of them gather around a single Table in a family restaurant. It's an unusual mix of personalities. May, however, can't help but question why Haruto is there. Haruto sheepishly explains that he's fallen behind in his studies and has started worrying about his future. So, he desperately needs their help. As they
chat, Izumi brings up Tsuyoshi's torn charm again, saying it feels like an omen since it broke the very first day he wore it. The conversation shifts to his grades, Catching Kyoko's interest. Tsuyoshi admits they're not great, prompting Haruto to recall a story from their freshman year. He once gave up midway through a test and noticed Tsuyoshi's paper covered in blood. He thought Tsuyoshi had cut himself, but it turned out he'd simply rubbed too hard, causing his skin to bleed. The situation became awkward fast and time ran out before he could do anything. Hearing this, everyone
feels bad for Tsuyoshi. Kyoko Wants to support him, but since they won't be seated together during the exams, there's little she can do. May, however, turns her attention to Haruto, scolding him for giving up so easily back then. Soon, a large plate of fries arrives and everyone eagerly digs in. But just as Kyoko is about to take a bite, she suddenly remembers she didn't bring any textbooks. And to her dismay, everyone else forgot theirs, too. Their attention shifts again when Tsuyoshi Accidentally splits his chopsticks in half. Everyone stares in disbelief. And to make matters worse,
he gets a splinter. Kyoko quickly bandages his finger and hands him a new pair of chopsticks, while Izumi mentions that a guest will be joining them soon. For now, she tells everyone to just enjoy the fries. A few minutes later, Hashiba arrives and immediately scolds them for not having a single textbook in sight. Izumi brushes it off, saying she invited Him because he's the smartest in their class. After greeting everyone, he takes the seat beside Kyoko, flustered and apologizing for being sweaty from practice. They finally begin studying, but after only a few minutes, both Izumi
and Haruto are already slumped over the table, completely drained. Tsuyoshi, on the other hand, remains focused, diligently answering questions while the other two have already given up on the first one. Even Kyoko struggles with Some problems, prompting Hashiba to step in and explain. His clear explanations help her catch up quickly, and she can't help but compliment how intelligent and athletic he is. Across the table, Tsuyoshi quietly watches, his eyes shimmering with a mix of all and melancholy. Later, Kyoko excuses herself to go to the restroom and Tsuyoshi stands up at the same time, so they
walk there together. Once inside, Tsuyoshi stumbles and falls. Kyoko panics and Rushes to help, but he insists he's fine and tells her to go ahead. Though she reluctantly obeys, he seems deeply unsettled by something. Meanwhile, back at the table, the others talk about surviving the upcoming exams and make a pact. [music] If they get through midterms, they'll all go to karaoke together to celebrate. The next day, when exams finally end, the classroom erupts in collective relief. Kyoko and May are chatting when Izumi bursts in, Thrilled about how well she did thanks to their study session.
Even Haruto admits he might pass for once. Excited, Izumi invites everyone to karaoke and the two girls immediately agree. Coincidentally, Hashiba passes by, so Izumi quickly invites him, too. He initially declines, but when he sees Kyoko's enthusiastic expression, he changes his mind. Meanwhile, Tsuyoshi bumps his head under the table while picking up an eraser, and they take the Opportunity to invite him as well. He shyly accepts. While everyone plans their outing, Kyoko checks on Tsuyoshi, wanting him to experience a normal high school life. She asks where he wants to go. To her surprise, he chooses
a nearby burger shop popular among students. When they arrive, he takes pictures with the mascot outside before heading in. Inside, he's overwhelmed by the menu, unsure what to order. Hashiba offers practical tips on budgeting while Kyoko Explains the discounts. The two chat casually as Tsuyoshi listens in quiet awe. When the food arrives, Izumi cheerfully points out that Kyoko and Hashiba acted like parents, fussing over what Tsuyoshi should order for his first burger shop visit. Kyoko blushes at the comparison, and even May admits it fits, while Haruto jokes that May can be the neighborhood auntie, earning
an annoyed glare from her. As Izumi keeps teasing about them being like a family, Tsuyoshi Quietly takes a bite of his burger. His whole face lights up with a pure, radiant smile. Everyone falls silent, watching in awe. Moved by his joy, each of them starts sharing half their food with him until his tray is overflowing. Hashiba chuckles that he feels like a grandparent spoiling his grandkid, and Tsuyoshi happily eats. But when he bites into an apple pie, it burns his cheek, making him yelp softly. Kyoko immediately presses her cold drink Against his face to soothe
it, while Hashiba apologizes, guilt-ridden all over his face. After Kyoko gently bandages his burn, Tsuyoshi resumes eating, his bright smile returning, relieving everyone. Feeling proud, Hashiba smiles, prompting Izumi to teasingly call him dad. Soon after, Kyoko complains that her fries are too crispy since she prefers them soft. Hashiba offers his in exchange, saying he likes the crispy ones better, and They trade plates. Seeing this, Tsuyoshi notices his fries are soft, too, and shyly offers them to Kyoko, but she politely refuses, not wanting to take more food from him. Flustered, he eats them himself, looking a
little dejected. While eating, Hashiba notices a small stain on Kyoko's cheek. No matter how she wipes, she keeps missing the spot. After a few failed he sighs, takes out a tissue, and gently wipes it off himself. >> [music] >> Kyoko freezes, and Hashiba awkwardly explains that he's just used to doing that for his little sister. Izumi quickly steps in to break the tension, and Kyoko jokes that at least now she knows where the stain was. Everyone laughs, and the mood lightens again. As they prepare to leave, Tsuyoshi bumps his foot on the table, prompting Kyoko
to stay behind to check on him. Once the others are gone, Tsuyoshi sheepishly admits he wasn't hurt at all. He just Wanted to see if Kyoko really saw him as a child. Realizing how awkward that sounds, he fumbles for an excuse, leaving Kyoko speechless as they walk toward the karaoke place. When they arrive, everyone learns it's Tsuyoshi's first time there. As they chat, Hashiba adjusts the room temperature and warns everyone to watch out for a tear in the couch, especially Tsuyoshi. Kyoko finds his thoughtfulness charming, while Tsuyoshi hides his face in Embarrassment. Once everyone's settled,
they decide who should sing first. The group unanimously cheers for Hashiba, but he quickly refuses, flustered by the attention. Meanwhile, Kyoko notices Tsuyoshi growing quiet. Even when Izumi calls him over, he lingers awkwardly in the corner. When he finally sits, it happens to be on the exact torn spot Hashiba warned about, so he gets stuck. Kyoko panics, but he refuses to look at her, reminding her of her younger Brother's rebellious face. The three girls then sing together, choosing a German song they'll need for next week's test. As Kyoko sings, her voice is confident and clear,
her pronunciation flawless. Everyone listens in amazement, applauding loudly when she finishes. Pride swells in her chest, but she also feels strangely uneasy. Amid the noise, she catches Tsuyoshi muttering a quiet compliment, shocking her. Just moments ago, he wouldn't even Meet her eyes, and now he's praising her singing. Even as the others cheer, Kyoko can't stop thinking about him. When their eyes finally meet, he immediately looks away. Tsuyoshi excuses himself to get a drink, but Kyoko follows him. He tries to walk faster, yet she keeps up without hesitation, refusing to let him avoid her again. When
he finally turns around, he sees the sadness written across her face. Kyoko asks if she did something Wrong, but before he can answer, the door beside him swings open, hitting him twice in a row. Startled by the noise, people rush over, but Tsuyoshi insists he's fine and walks away as if nothing happened. Kyoko walks beside him, still worried. That's when Tsuyoshi softly says he could never hate her. The words make her cheeks flush. When they return, Hashiba asks what took them so long, and Tsuyoshi merely says he got lost. As May And Haruto start singing,
Kyoko still doesn't have her answer, as Tsuyoshi can't stop replaying her question in his mind, wondering why he's been avoiding her at all. Then the lyrics of the song catches attention. They suggest that avoiding someone's gaze might mean you're falling in love. >> [music] >> And in that moment, Tsuyoshi finally realizes what his feelings for Kyoko truly are. The next day at school, Kyoko Shows Izumi and May a photo of her younger siblings, and both of them gush over how adorable they are. May invites everyone to visit her house, but Kyoko also suggests they come
over to hers instead. The two immediately love the idea since they want to meet her siblings in person. Just then, Tsuyoshi enters the classroom and greets Kyoko as he takes his seat beside her. She notices he looks fine today and asks about it, so he explains that his Parents drove him to school this time. They chat casually about class matters, and for a moment, it feels like things are back to normal between them. But Kyoko can't help sensing that there seems to be an invisible wall between them again. At Kyoko's house, she opens up to
May while Izumi plays with her younger siblings. >> [music] >> However, her brother, Soda, doesn't seem very pleased with it, so Kyoko explains That he's just going through a rebellious phase. >> [music] >> As soon as she says that, something seems to cross her mind and May quickly notices. She's been observing Kyoko's mood for the past few days, so she immediately suspects that Tsuyoshi might be the reason behind it. While Izumi continues playing with the kids, May suddenly gets an idea. She tells Kyoko to try acting more like Izumi. Izumi Cheers enthusiastically for Soda as
he plays a video game. Despite pretending to be tough, Soda clearly enjoys the compliments, and before long he asked Izumi to play with him. May proves her point saying that even though Soda is in his rebellious phase, he still opens up to Izumi quickly. Kyoko pauses before considering the idea. She imagines herself acting like Izumi, but quickly dismisses it, knowing it would only make Tsuyoshi feel weird Around her. Meanwhile, at a store, Hashiba stands in front of a rack filled with romantic manga trying to figure out if he's picking the right one. >> [music] >>
His mom had texted him to buy a specific copy for his sister, so he's checking each title. As he inspects, Tsuyoshi suddenly bumps into him from behind, startling him. [music] Hashiba instantly tries to hide the manga, but Haruto also appears from behind a stall and spots Them. Embarrassed, Hashiba quickly tells the two to wait for him outside. Back at Kyoko's house, she opens up about her situation, confessing that the guy she likes has been avoiding her lately. Izumi immediately blurts out that it's probably because he likes her, too, catching both Kyoko and May off guard.
But before Kyoko can deny it, Izumi adds that the guy must be Tsuyoshi. At that, Kyoko turns bright red. Meanwhile, Hashiba hands both Haruto and Tsuyoshi The chicken he brought from the store. When Tsuyoshi offers to pay him, Hashiba quickly waves him off. However, Haruto can't help but ask about the manga Hashiba is holding. Tsuyoshi also assumes it was his, but Hashiba hurriedly denies it, explaining that his sister begged him to buy it. He adds that if people found out, they'd definitely make fun of him, so he calls the food he gave him earlier hush
money to keep quiet. Haruto confirms the deal Before leaving, but just as Tsuyoshi is about to say something, he accidentally burns his mouth on the chicken. Tsuyoshi suddenly brings up Hashiba's words from the past few days about liking Kyoko, and bluntly asks what he meant by that. Hashiba drops his bag of manga in shock. While picking it up, Tsuyoshi asks if he's in love with her and what being in love even feels like. >> [music] >> Surprised that Tsuyoshi has no idea About such things, Hashiba tells him to just read the manga himself. A few
minutes later, the two of them sit on a bench outside the store with Tsuyoshi flipping through the pages while Hashiba wonders how things went this time. Tsuyoshi quickly becomes engrossed in the story and starts asking if Hashiba has ever felt anything like what's written there. Hashiba replies that he hasn't, though deep down he knows he has. Still, from the way Tsuyoshi talks, Hashiba begins to suspect he might actually like someone. At the same time, May and Izumi tell Kyoko that Tsuyoshi probably likes her. Kyoko immediately panics, but Izumi points out that it's obvious, especially during
their karaoke outing. Kyoko turns bright red, denying everything, which makes May think she's overcomplicating things again. Still, it doesn't change the fact that Kyoko still doesn't know what to do about it. Meanwhile, Hashiba Is also lost in thought, wondering what Tsuyoshi truly feels. Tsuyoshi notices his sudden reluctance and tries to ask him what's wrong, but Hashiba ends up simply brushing it off in frustration. In class, Tsuyoshi feels refreshed after borrowing all 20 volumes of the manga from Hashiba. He spent the weekend reading everything and found it surprisingly good. Just then, Kyoko enters with an unusually
bright aura, leaving him stunned. When she greets May, her tone sounds so strange that May instantly realizes she's imitating Izumi. Just as she's about to say it, Kyoko quickly covers her mouth, afraid to get caught. Last Friday, Kyoko found May's plan a little absurd, but after everything they talked about, she grew more confused. So for now, she decides to give May's advice a chance, thinking that being cheerful will change things between her and Tsuyoshi. However, when her face accidentally gets too close to His, she trembles with nervousness. When Hashiba enters the classroom, he also notices
that Kyoko seems different. She assumes he must find her odd, but in truth, Hashiba absolutely loves it. With a shaky voice, Hashiba mentions something about a task the teacher assigned, and soon they're talking and laughing together. Then Tsuyoshi glances over and his expression darkens. Back in her seat, Kyoko tries to make small talk with Tsuyoshi, but May cringes as her Tone sounds nothing like her usual self. May and Kyoko leans closer and notices a leaf stuck in Tsuyoshi's hair, so she plucks it off while Tsuyoshi freezes. And suddenly, scenes from the manga flood his mind.
That's when he realizes that he might actually be in love. Later that day, Tsuyoshi returns all the manga he borrowed from Hashiba. Hashiba can't believe Tsuyoshi actually managed to read everything over the weekend, but Tsuyoshi looks genuinely fascinated. He Even starts talking about the things he learned and innocently asks if those books could predict the future. Back in the classroom, Izumi notices how strange Kyoko seems, commenting that she looks a bit uncomfortable. Embarrassed, Kyoko quickly excuses herself, but after a minute, she returns now acting more like her usual self. While heading back to class, Tsuyoshi
can't stop thinking about how the day feels oddly similar to the events in the manga, even when Kyoko Simply turns to greet him. He feels as though they're the story's main characters. When the teacher enters and tells everyone to return to their seats, Tsuyoshi remains frozen in place. Before they start, Kyoko raises her hand admitting she forgot her textbook. The teacher is about to tell her to share with her seatmate, but before he can finish, Tsuyoshi moves immediately, which shocks everyone. As the class continues, Tsuyoshi and Kyoko share a book, sitting so close that it
becomes hard for both of them to breathe. When the teacher moves to write on the board, they raise their hands at the same time. The teacher, thinking they are fighting, watches as they apologize in unison. Just then, Tsuyoshi notices he's cut his finger. He tries to hide it, but Kyoko quickly offers a bandage and carefully wraps it around his wound. Her touch makes his heart race. >> [music] >> And in that moment, Tsuyoshi finally admits to her that he likes her. Even as she arrives home, Kyoko remains preoccupied with what Tsuyoshi said, so her younger
siblings start talking about her. She recalls the moment again. After Tsuyoshi confessed his feelings, the teacher continued with the lesson and Tsuyoshi hurried home afterward. Kyoko can't help but think that perhaps it isn't the same kind of feeling she has For him. After all, Tsuyoshi doesn't seem to like her that way. Despite that, hearing those words from him makes her genuinely happy. The next day at school, Tsuyoshi greets Kyoko a little too cheerfully, which startles her. [music] She notices the unusual brightness in his smile, but then he pats her head, making her even more flustered.
He explains that some chalk dust from the board got on her hair and offers to help clean it. And as he steps backward to go To his seat, he missteps on the platform and almost falls. Luckily, Hashiba catches him just in time. Later, a male classmate shows Hashiba a page from a magazine and asks him to choose which woman is his type. Hashiba feels confused, but the classmate reassures him that it's just for fun and talks about how interesting this edition of the magazine is. Then Hashiba's eyes land on a girl with long, straight hair,
and his classmate assumes that's his Type. Instantly, Hashiba becomes defensive and denies it. Left nervous, Hashiba gulps a glass of water to calm himself. Afterward, the classmate calls out Tsuyoshi as well and asks him about his type. It takes him a moment to respond, but he finally admits that his type is Kyoko. The answer surprises everyone who hears it, and even Kyoko rises from her seat while a bead of sweat forms on her forehead. Despite the shock, Tsuyoshi picks up the water Bottle she dropped and casually asks her if she wants to eat lunch together.
Hashiba, in particular, drops his jaw in shock. Tsuyoshi even offers her one of his favorite hash browns, and Kyoko [music] reluctantly takes it. But even after that, she notices that Tsuyoshi is staring at her intently, which makes her feel like there's something on her face, but he straightforwardly admits he's simply admiring her. Just as Kyoko freezes in shock, whispers spread Through the classroom about Tsuyoshi hitting on her. She nearly drops her lunch, but Tsuyoshi catches it just in time, leaving everyone stunned. Noticing her silence, Tsuyoshi checks on her, but Kyoko is overwhelmed and doesn't know
how to react. Seeing this, he decides to lead her to the nurse's office. Meanwhile, the classmates left behind can't help but notice how their roles have suddenly shifted. Outside the door, Kyoko stands frozen, unable to process Her thoughts. After a moment, she snaps out of it and tells Tsuyoshi to follow her. They run through the corridors until they reach an isolated area, and only then does she realize she's been holding his hand too tightly. There, Kyoko confronts him, asking what his words from yesterday truly meant, but Tsuyoshi simply says he means exactly what he said.
Still confused, Kyoko presses for clarification, and Tsuyoshi explains. He admits that he only Recently realized his feelings. Every time he's with Kyoko, he experiences intense emotions he hadn't felt before, wondering at first if it might be some kind of illness. Eventually, he recognizes these feelings as love, and this makes him genuinely happy. He feels the strong urge to tell her immediately, but admits that doing so during class wasn't the right moment. To his surprise, Kyoko's tears begin to fall as she admits that his words from yesterday Actually made her happy. She confesses that she has
always loved him, too, revealing that their feelings are mutual. It takes Tsuyoshi a moment to respond, but he's equally joyful. In that moment, he offers his hand and vows to create more happy memories together. Kyoko, with tears in her eyes, agrees and takes his hand as well. >> [music] >> The next day during PE, the class plays a game of high jump. When it's Tsuyoshi's turn, the class can't help but worry he might hurt himself, but the moment he runs and clears the bar flawlessly, everyone falls silent in awe, and cheers fill the air as
they start talking about how athletic he is. Even Kyoko mentions how cool it was. With that, Kyoko feels a wave of pressure to do her best, but when her turn comes, she trips and accidentally knocks the metal bar off instead. As she returns to her friends, Tsuyoshi is Already jumping again. Each time he raises the bar higher, but always falls to the ground. His classmates grow uneasy seeing the bruises all over him. Despite this, Tsuyoshi insists on trying again for a higher level. Kyoko steps forward to stop him, but Haruto suddenly blocks her path. His
expression is calm, but firm, telling her that Tsuyoshi is testing his limits as a man. Tsuyoshi jumps once again, but lands on the hard ground. The teacher asks if he's okay, But Tsuyoshi simply stands up as though nothing happened and gives Kyoko a casual wave, which leaves her flustered. When PE ends, Kyoko immediately rushes to his side to check if he's all right. Tsuyoshi insists he's fine, admitting he just got carried away after hearing her say he looked cool earlier. Mei and Izumi, overhearing this, can't help but tease both of them suspiciously. Soon, a few
of their classmates also approach, asking if the two are going out already. Kyoko is completely caught off guard, but she still doesn't know what to answer. Looking back, she knows the handshake they shared meant something, so she simply glances at Tsuyoshi, only for him to innocently ask what going out even means, and their classmates can only groan in disappointment. Left alone, Kyoko feels a sense of relief, only to be startled again when Tsuyoshi suddenly asks if she wants to start going out. The question catches her off Guard, and she instinctively agrees, but she realizes she
doesn't fully understand what going out even means. With this, she asks for some time to think it over. When Kyoko gets home, she immediately searches online for the meaning of going out on the internet. She can't believe she's actually looking it up, but is convinced that love alone isn't enough reason to start dating, and that Tsuyoshi shouldn't agree to something he doesn't fully understand. Soon, Sayaka starts talking, teasing that someone confessed to Soda, and asking if they're already going out. Soda quickly denies it, saying they only hung out, but Sayaka insists he should date her,
and their conversation turns into a playful fight. This quickly catches Kyoko's attention, so she turns her head and asks if they even know what going out really means. Soda immediately admits he doesn't, while Sayaka has an explanation. For her, two people should Go out if they both like each other. However, Kyoko disagrees, feeling that there should be more to it. So, Sayaka looks at her while wondering what else she expects. Still deep in thought, Kyoko grows frustrated until Sayaka casually mentions that her friend Miyu will be visiting tomorrow. Kyoko only nods, but Sayaka leans closer
and adds that Miyu is known as the relationship master, who can give advice about love. Hearing that, Kyoko imagines her as some Kind of celestial being. The next day, Miyu arrives as planned, and Kyoko takes the chance to talk to her. Though it feels odd seeking relationship advice from an elementary schooler. Before she can even ask, Sayaka steps in and tells Miyu to explain [music] what going out means. Kyoko also redirects the question and asks what Miyu enjoys doing the most with her boyfriend. With this, Miyu pauses, recalling everything she's learned from the manga. Seconds
later, Miyu replies that whatever she does with her boyfriend simply makes her happy, and Kyoko feels the same way towards Tsuyoshi. Miyu mentions how they message each other often, but Kyoko realizes her texts with Tsuyoshi usually end after a simple greeting. As Miyu continues to chatter about the things she and her boyfriend do, Kyoko looks down, admitting that she fears sounding annoying. Miyu shakes her head and reassures her not to hold back, because If their feelings are mutual, then Tsuyoshi should want to spend time with her, too. Motivated by Miyu's advice, Kyoko brightens and hugs
Miyu, exclaiming that she is now her master. The next day, Kyoko arrives at school earlier than usual, quietly planning what she'll say when Tsuyoshi arrives. Unbeknownst to her, he's already nearby, slowly catching up before greeting her. Tsuyoshi expresses how happy he's bumping into her so directly. Still, she gathers her courage to finally express her feelings. With that, Kyoko pulls him away from the group. Once they're alone, she tells him that she's finally figured out why she wants to go out with him. She explains that even though she's already happy just sitting beside him in class,
she wants to see him outside of school, too, especially on days when she misses him. She admits she also wants them to text each other more, because their Conversations always stop after the greetings, and she's always been afraid of annoying him. From now on, Kyoko wants to do all of these things openly with Tsuyoshi, without holding back. Then, Kyoko asks Tsuyoshi if they can go out together, while holding out her trembling hand, and Tsuyoshi accepts it without hesitation. Tsuyoshi feels the same way toward her, and the fact that they will be seeing each other more
excites him. That afternoon, Hashiba has Just gotten off from club practice when he remembers leaving something important in the classroom. On his way, he passes by the art room and hears strange grunting noises. Curious, he peeps inside and is startled to find Tsuyoshi covered in bruises. When Tsuyoshi notices him, he quickly greets him, but Hashiba disappears within seconds. Hashiba suddenly shows up in the doorway and sees Tsuyoshi drawing. He notices the bruises and briefly wonders about Them, but lets the thought go. Instead, he helps him put on new bandages and reminds him to take better
care of himself. [music] Just then, Hashiba suddenly thinks about Kyoko, remembering how she's always the one tending to Tsuyoshi's injuries. He imagines Kyoko doing the same for him when he injured himself during baseball, but he quickly gets flustered and shakes it off his mind. Hashiba asks why Tsuyoshi is there, and Tsuyoshi explains That he's technically part of the art club. He stopped showing up during the second half of his first year, because he didn't want to bother anyone. But that changed when Kyoko praised his artwork in class. Her words motivated him to start drawing again,
and ever since then, he's been returning to the club and actually having fun. Hearing this, Hashiba agrees that Tsuyoshi's drawings are impressive, but adds that Kyoko would probably want to see him Draw, no matter what. Hashiba then shifts the topic and asks if he and Kyoko have started going out. Tsuyoshi immediately says yes, explaining that Kyoko was the one who asked first. Hashiba smiles, thinking how nervous Kyoko must have felt, but he still congratulates Tsuyoshi. With this, Tsuyoshi's expression brightens, and he starts talking non-stop about how excited he is to be dating Kyoko. He gushes
about how they now text each Other every day, like it's totally normal, even though he admits he still gets nervous sending stickers to his classmates. He even asks Hashiba if he and Kyoko ever texted before. With that, Hashiba feels a strange pang inside. Although they've never texted each other, he tells Tsuyoshi send him stickers anytime he wants, which makes Tsuyoshi delighted. Still, Hashiba can't help but think Tsuyoshi probably sees his relationship with Kyoko as something Close to a deep friendship. To confirm, he asks how Tsuyoshi really feels about her. So, Tsuyoshi says he genuinely likes
her, and that it's all thanks to Hashiba for helping him realize his emotions. Then, he pulls out a small keychain from his pocket and offers it as a thank you gift for lending him the manga. This makes Hashiba laugh before gladly accepting it. At that moment, Haruto also happens to pass by the art room, but as he enters, he accidentally Steps on a paper and slips before knocking over the easel, which toppled towards Tsuyoshi. The impact startles Hashiba, but Haruto quickly stands up as if nothing happened. He also apologizes right away, asks why Tsuyoshi is
still at school so late, only to learn that he's actually a member of the art club. Hashiba can't help but find it strange that Tsuyoshi can still talk calmly despite getting hit. But instead, Tsuyoshi smiles and thanks both of them For being the people he can easily talk to these days. The timing felt a little awkward, but somehow, they all agree to it. The three quietly appreciated the moment and felt glad to have each other. Before leaving, Hashiba thinks to himself that no matter what happens, he'll still be rooting for Kyoko. The next day, Kyoko
notices Tsuyoshi looking up a new movie everyone is talking about. She asks him about it, and he admits he wants to watch it. Without Hesitation, she offers to go with him. Before they realize it, they're already outside the cinema, each holding a drink while Tsuyoshi recalls that the last time he went to a movie, he was very young back then and barely remembers it. Hearing that, Kyoko feels glad she invited him, and finally feels like they're really going out. At the reception, the attendant asked for their tickets, and Tsuyoshi suddenly panics, forgetting where he put
them. Luckily, Kyoko is there to remind him. Once they enter, Kyoko notices a small cut on Tsuyoshi's finger. He explains that he got flustered earlier, so Kyoko insists they head straight to their seats. Still distracted, Tsuyoshi starts walking and accidentally bumps into the doorway. When they finally take their seats, Kyoko notices how tattered Tsuyoshi already looks. Guilt washes over her for bringing him to such a crowded place. As the lights dim, Tsuyoshi feels scared, But she assures him that she'll be right there to help. When the advertisements start, the sudden noise makes Tsuyoshi flinch. Concerned,
Kyoko scans the cinema for a quieter spot where he might feel more comfortable, but every option she considers seems to carry some risk. Soon, she becomes so focused on worrying about him, that she doesn't even realize the movie has already begun. As the movie plays, she tries to watch the screen, but her thoughts keep drifting Back to Tsuyoshi, wondering if she has put him in an unsafe situation. However, when she glances at him again, Tsuyoshi seems completely fine. His eyes are fixed on the screen and absorbing the story. Seeing how calm he is, Kyoko can't
help but admire him in that moment. When the movie ends and the crowd begins to leave, Kyoko is still lost in thought. She realizes she spent the entire film watching Tsuyoshi instead of the screen, and didn't even Notice it had ended. [music] Tsuyoshi, on the other hand, can't stop talking about the movie, excitedly recalling every single scene, while Kyoko clutches her bag and suddenly bursts into tears. Tsuyoshi assumes she's still moved by the story, so she simply plays along. Still, he admits he's overjoyed that they got to watch it together, and he even mentions wanting
to see more movies with her in the future. Relieved, she decides to stop overthinking and just Enjoy being with him. Before they head out, they decide to browse through the movie merchandise before walking home. Now, Kyoko feels more determined not to hold back anymore. >> [music] >> The conversation drifts toward their experience. Then, Tsuyoshi pauses, remembering something he read in manga, and asks if what they just did is called a date. Though reluctant, Kyoko nods in agreement. In the end, Kyoko may not Have truly enjoyed today's movie, but Tsuyoshi is very delighted, and he even
thinks about watching it again with his dad. The next day at school, Izumi talks to Hashiba about the semifinals of their baseball match. However, Yamashita suddenly cuts in, saying the team will only do their best if there's some kind of reward at the end. Hashiba doesn't understand what he means, so Yamashita explains further that most of the time, a guy makes a pact with a girl, like Going out with her if he gets a home run or something similar. Izumi compares it to scenes in romance movies she watches, but Hashiba still doesn't get it, saying
he doesn't need a reward to give his best. Just then, Izumi brings up Kyoko's name, causing Hashiba to panic. But she only wants to ask Kyoko about the new keychain in her purse. They're from the same movie Izumi went to see, as well. Hashiba lets out a sigh of relief, until he notices Tsuyoshi's bag has the exact Same keychain Kyoko has. Seeing this, Hashiba immediately assumes the two of them must have watched the movie together. Hashiba Even while doing their student council duties together, Hashiba can't stop thinking about it. Prompting Kyoko to eventually ask what's
bothering him. He brushes it off pretending it's nothing, so Kyoko simply wishes him luck for their preliminary match. Hashiba's face suddenly turns red, whispering that he'll work even harder if Kyoko roots For them. Before he can stop himself, he asks Kyoko if she would go to the movie with him if he hits a home run. The words startle Kyoko, but Hashiba is even more shocked at what he just said. Embarrassed, he runs out of the room leaving Kyoko wondering about what he meant. That afternoon, their teacher announces that the whole school will watch [music] the
match tomorrow to support the team and the students erupt into excitement. Kyoko is also stunned Into silence until Tsuyoshi casually tells her it will be fun while everyone around them continues buzzing about the upcoming game. The next day, the class gathers to watch the match under the scorching sun. >> [music] >> Even the cheering squad is already exhausted from the heat and Kyoko can't stop fussing over Tsuyoshi, constantly checking on him like a worried mother. Aside from the heat, everyone is anxious About their team's standing as it isn't looking good at all. Still, they remain
optimistic, clinging to the hope that a home run this round could still turn things around. Some classmates worry the ball may hit Tsuyoshi, but Kyoko's thoughts drift back to Hashiba's words from yesterday. Soon, the opposing team scores again, but when Hashiba steps up to bat, the class suddenly regains its energy. Kyoko freezes, unsure whether she should cheer for him or not, Especially after what he said about going to the movies with her. Hashiba earns two strikes and just as he is about to bat again, Kyoko finally shouts to cheer for him. With this, Hashiba sends
the ball flying and gives their team a home run. When the game ends, Hashiba calls Kyoko over to talk. She assumes it's about the movie, but he simply apologizes for everything. He admits he had too much on his mind back then and wasn't thinking clearly. He Tells her it's better to forget what he said, especially since she and Tsuyoshi are already together and it would be quite disrespectful. Still, he's grateful because she motivated him to try his best. >> [music] >> He thanks her and starts to head back. Before he leaves, Kyoko congratulates him once
more on the home run. Hearing those words, Hashiba's short summer comes to an end with a smile. Just then, Izumi and a few classmates spot him and congratulate him on the home run even though they still lost in the end. He was declared the MVP and while Hashiba doesn't think much of it, Izumi suggests they do a small wrap-up and home run celebration before summer break. The others like the idea, so they all agree. Hashiba, however, doesn't look excited at all. When Izumi mentions stopping by the summer festival, it immediately catches Tsuyoshi's attention and that
Makes Kyoko interested, too. Since it's the perfect chance for him to experience something normal as a student. Seeing how eager she suddenly becomes, Hashiba changes his mind and reluctantly agrees to join them as well, sending everyone into cheers. On the day of the festival, Hashiba is the first to arrive at their meeting spot with Haruto showing up after him. Hashiba mentions he's already been waiting for 30 minutes, which surprises Haru since Hashiba didn't seem Excited when they first talked about going. Hashiba keeps checking his phone, wondering where the girls are until they suddenly appear all
wearing their yukatas. He's caught off guard as he hadn't expected them to dress up for the festival. Kyoko explains that she had to borrow one from Izumi, which prompts Izumi to ask if she looks cute. Haruto immediately agrees, but Hashiba is lost in thought. Kyoko looks almost too good and her flustered expression makes it Even harder for him to respond. Before he can say anything, Tsuyoshi arrives and unintentionally interrupts the moment. >> [music] >> Covered in leaves and scratches, he explains he slipped into some bushes while rushing to make it on time. Even so, Kyoko
can't help admiring how good he looks in casual clothes. When Tsuyoshi finally notices her, he compliments how cute she is, startling Everyone, especially Hashiba, who couldn't say it himself. Tsuyoshi walks over to Hashiba and as they chat, he casually mentions that he doesn't look good in hats. Without hesitation, Hashiba places his own hat on him to prove otherwise, leaving Kyoko stunned at how close they seem. As they start exploring the festival stalls, they pass by rows of food vendors. >> [music] >> Izumi tells Hashiba to look after Tsuyoshi while they walk and he confidently says
he will, but Kyoko can't help glancing at them. A hint of jealousy showing as Hashiba ends up walking beside Tsuyoshi. When May brings up some trivia about katanuki, they all decide to give it a try. Using toothpicks, they carefully carve [music] the candy shapes. While Hashiba concentrates, Kyoko suddenly speaks up, asking how he and Tsuyoshi became so close. She admits she saw them in the Art room the other day talking and laughing even though they barely interact in class. With that, Hashiba begins recalling the first time he spoke to Tsuyoshi. It happened two months ago
when they ended up sharing snacks and hanging out at the park until it got dark. Hearing this makes Kyoko jealous, but when Hashiba adds that it was Tsuyoshi's first time getting snacks with someone, her jealousy spikes even more as she accidentally cracks the Candy mold she's carving. Hashiba continues mentioning how Tsuyoshi went all out on a wobbly playground ride and how recently they both gotten hooked on the same manga. Thinking back on it, he realizes they really did grow unexpectedly close. Hashiba has never seen Kyoko react that way before, so he is intentionally making her
jealous by saying all these things. Finally, Kyoko admits she recognizes their growing bond and is genuinely happy that Tsuyoshi is Making friends. However, she warns Hashiba that she won't let him steal Tsuyoshi away from her. Once they're done, the group continues strolling through the festival. Hashiba still can't believe the girl he likes is actually getting jealous over him. Aside from that, Tsuyoshi is clearly ahead of him in Kyoko's heart, so Hashiba suggests they try the rifle game together. Within moments, he lands a perfect shot and wins a prize. Kyoko Praises him softly, making him feel
like he finally scored a win this time. What surprises him even more is Tsuyoshi looking at him with genuine admiration. Suddenly, a kid playing nearby fires his rifle and accidentally shoots Tsuyoshi, but he brushes it off and everyone bursts into laughter. Moments later, May and Haruto return with food and notice the huge bear Hashiba won. Tsuyoshi squeezes the plush against his back, but when a group of people passes by, he Gets swept away by the crowd. Once he's back, Izumi senses the danger, so she tells Hashiba to hold Tsuyoshi's hand. They decide to do it,
looking hilariously like a mom guiding her child, which earns more laughter. Once again, Kyoko shoots Hashiba a sharp look. Noticing this, May suggests that she should hold hands with Tsuyoshi since they're a couple. Kyoko hesitates as she tries to ask Tsuyoshi about holding hands, but ends up feeling Flustered since they've never done it before. Then she recalls they've already shaken each other's hands three times, convincing herself it should be fine, especially since it could be dangerous if he got lost. She tries to compose herself and reaches her hand to him, but as Tsuyoshi accepts, she
panics once more. Tsuyoshi also feels his heart racing, so he slowly withdraws, explaining that his hand isn't in the best condition right now. His answer Surprises Kyoko, but he promises he won't get lost, so she simply asks about his hand while everyone else teases them. This baffles Hashiba since Tsuyoshi was just holding his hand moments ago, causing Kyoko to start overthinking. The group continues walking and Izumi immediately notices the glowing rings nearby, prompting them to take a closer look. The girls reminisce about their younger years when they longed for such rings. Kyoko Recalls holding back
to prioritize her younger sister, who also wanted one back then. Even now as grown-ups, the rings still feel beautiful to them, so Izumi encourages her to get one, but Kyoko insists it's nothing more than nostalgia. Meanwhile, the boys enjoy the french fries Haruto bought, but Tsuyoshi accidentally burns his mouth on them. Then Hashiba spots a dart stall nearby and decides to try it, hitting the bull's-eye on his first attempt. When It's Tsuyoshi's turn, the dart backfires and hits his head, catching the girls' attention, especially Kyoko, who rushes to check on him, while Hashiba can only
watch in confusion. Throughout the festival tour, Tsuyoshi encounters several other accidents, including hooking his finger while catching goldfish, getting drenched with water balloons, and even having cotton candy stuck on his face. Each time, Kyoko tends to him carefully, while Hashiba Can only watch in envy. At one point, Izumi asks Hashiba if he's gotten over Kyoko yet, but he admits that his feelings for her likely will never fade. >> [music] >> Izumi is moved by his words, but as his childhood friend, she decides she wants to take care of him in her own way as well.
Meanwhile, Haruto and May are busy indulging in every food they can find. Eventually, the group finishes touring all the stalls and simply waits for the Fireworks show that will start shortly. That's when Kyoko suddenly notices Tsuyoshi is missing. Panic spreads as everyone worries about him, thinking he might run into bad guys on the way, so Hashiba suggests they try contacting him first while Kyoko blames herself for having so much fun and losing track of him. She even begins regretting not insisting more on holding his hand earlier. Kyoko is already on the verge of tears when
Tsuyoshi suddenly appears And the group immediately asks where he has been. He explains that he simply stopped by a stall and apologizes for worrying everyone. Seeing Kyoko's anxious expression, he steps closer and asks to see her hand. Tsuyoshi recalls his feelings earlier when their hands touched and he breathes heavily before gently sliding a glowing ring onto her pinky finger. At that exact moment, the first fireworks burst in the sky. Kyoko can hardly believe Tsuyoshi actually got Her the ring she had admired. So, Tsuyoshi explains that he decided to buy it for her because he thought
she would like it and apologizes once more for disappearing. Their friends tease them, which only makes Kyoko's eyes well up with tears of happiness. Hashiba watches quietly, faking a smile [music] while trying to comprehend how Tsuyoshi could make such a bold move as if it were just nothing. He refuses to be defeated, so he decides to say something, too. As he Tries to find the right words to tell Kyoko, he panics and ends up blurting out that he's glad Tsuyoshi is okay. At that moment, Hashiba knows he has completely lost to his rival. The group
continues watching the fireworks while Kyoko and Tsuyoshi exchange a few sweet words with each other. Hashiba can only reflect on how tough Tsuyoshi is while Kyoko wishes they could experience this again next year. Tsuyoshi can't bring himself to focus on anything else after The festival, only snapping back to reality when Kyoko calls out about the wound on his cheek. She rummages through her bag for a band-aid, but all Tsuyoshi can think about is how his heart races whenever Kyoko touches him. She leans in to tend to his injury and he instinctively flinches away, startling her.
He reassures her it's okay, though the blood slowly trickles down his cheek. His mind drifts back to the festival when his heart thumped as their Hands brushed, even though they had already touched many times before that. The memory makes him realize that it's the same feeling he felt when he first understood that he loved her. His eyes light up as he recalls a scene in a manga when the protagonist experiences a similar emotion. Yet Tsuyoshi thinks it isn't the same sensation. Keeping thought, Tsuyoshi doesn't realize that Kyoko has already finished tending to his wound. Even
though he refused her Help, she persisted and he thanks her for that. Just then, Kyoko seems to space out prompting Tsuyoshi to ask what's wrong. She explains that she got caught up in the excitement of the school festival and almost forgot that midterms are coming up soon. Realizing she should start studying, Tsuyoshi invites her to study together again. Kyoko beams at the idea, thinking about telling the others, but Tsuyoshi hesitates and admits he actually wants It to be just the two of them. Later in the girls' restroom, Kyoko confides in May and Izumi about Tsuyoshi's
invitation. They ask for all the details as she washes her hands. Kyoko tells them they're scheduled to study at place on Sunday, which immediately startles May. Kyoko reassures them that she wants to study without worrying about time. However, Kyoko soon realizes she might have suggested a strange place, but since it's Tsuyoshi, they know he Wouldn't find it weird at all. Izumi also suggests they have a strategy checkup after school to decide her outfit and makeup. Since it's their first time having a date, Izumi feels ecstatic for them. At the same time, Hashiba, who happens to
pass by, overhears Izumi talking about it. Later that day in the art room, Tsuyoshi is drawing while Haruto watches. Haruto assumes Tsuyoshi is sketching Kyoko, but Tsuyoshi is actually replicating the Sculpture in front of him. However, the drawing ends up looking very much like Kyoko, so Haruto says it must be because he loves her. Just then, Hashiba arrives and Haruto invites him to see the drawing as well. Hashiba immediately admires how good it is. Tsuyoshi explains that he intended to draw the sculpture but ended up sketching Kyoko. Seeing that, Hashiba mentions that he must be
excited for their study session, which immediately catches everyone's Attention. He curses under his breath for accidentally letting it slip, but Haruto seems clueless and even asks if he can join. Hashiba snaps at him, hoping he will make him understand. Haruto pauses for a moment before realizing that it's actually a date. Even though Hashiba is supposed to stop them, seeing Tsuyoshi so happy makes him do nothing. Haruto talks fondly about their upcoming date, asking what Tsuyoshi plans to wear. Tsuyoshi admits He hasn't decided yet and just wants to wear normal clothes, but Haruto insists he should
dress up, warning that Kyoko might lose interest otherwise. Meanwhile, the girls help Kyoko practice her makeup, but she finds it hard. Izumi volunteers to come over Sunday morning before their meet up to help her, but Kyoko insists on trying she's already made some progress. While thinking about it, Kyoko realizes they never actually agreed on a meet up time for Sunday. With this, she sends Tsuyoshi a message and he replies right away. Meanwhile, Tsuyoshi is spiraling over what to wear, terrified that Kyoko might lose interest in him. Hashiba immediately scolds Haruto for putting that idea in
his head and reassures Tsuyoshi that Kyoko won't lose interest in him just because of clothes. To help him, he shows Tsuyoshi some outfit inspiration photos on his phone for future ideas. However, Haruto suggests something completely different By showing Tsuyoshi a suit and tie. Tsuyoshi admits it looks impressive, but Hashiba points out that it might make Kyoko uncomfortable. Hearing that, Haruto switches ideas and recommends a floral long-sleeve shirt, but Tsuyoshi finds it too flashy. So, Hashiba comments that a calm, simple style suits [music] Tsuyoshi more. Haruto continues scrolling through more looks, but nothing earns approval from
either Tsuyoshi or Hashiba. At one point, he Even shows a costume from the movie Tsuyoshi watched with Kyoko. Finally, Hashiba advises him to stick with his casual clothes. He also adds that Tsuyoshi should bring a small gift or snack and maybe try a slightly different hairstyle. Then, Haruto suddenly announces he's heading home and leaves in a rush. With that, Hashiba suggests they go home as well, but before they can, Tsuyoshi shyly asks Hashiba about his feelings. He admits that lately his Heart pounds whenever Kyoko touches him, especially when he tried holding her hand. He wonders
if it's weird and Hashiba pauses for a long moment before confessing he has no idea what it means. The next day, Kyoko shops with May in the cosmetic section, picking up items for her date with Tsuyoshi. However, when she proudly shows May what she chose, it's just a box of bandages that happened to be on sale. Aside from that, May wants her to prepare properly, So she shows Kyoko an eyeshadow palette. They test a few other shades and with so many options in front of her, Kyoko isn't sure what to pick. It makes them think
of Izumi. If she weren't working today, she would have already offered many tips by now. Still, May can't believe Kyoko is actually getting into makeup since she has never shown interest in these things before. Kyoko admits it's because ever since Izumi did her makeup for the festival, she felt Amazing about herself. All the compliments she received made her feel confident and May agrees. But more than anything, Tsuyoshi complimented her, too, so now she wants to practice and do her best with it. Hearing that, May cheers her on, telling her to blow Tsuyoshi's mind with her
cute makeup. After that, the two of them grab snacks, eating ice cream together as May casually checks up on Kyoko's love life. Kyoko admits she and Tsuyoshi have been Talking more than usual, even showing May a cat photo he sent her 2 days ago. Then, she shows the one he sent yesterday, which is a much closer shot of the same cat, making May wonder if he got attacked just trying to take it. May asks if Kyoko requires Tsuyoshi to give her a daily report of everything he does, but Kyoko explains it's not like that. They
just contact each other more frequently now. Even so, as she talks, Kyoko can't stop blushing and May pushes Her for more details. Kyoko shares the things she likes about Tsuyoshi, like how his eyes change shade and how sharp his 20/20 vision is. She also mentions that he recently started working at a snack shop, making him quite popular with the neighborhood kids. Kyoko happily lists all the small things he does that make the kids adore him even more. But then, she suddenly pauses mid-sentence, realizing she might be talking way too much already. However, May is simply
absorbed by how happy Kyoko looks. >> [music] >> Even if Tsuyoshi is an unusual guy, May knows he's a good one. So, she tells Kyoko she'll keep cheering for the two of them. Yet deep down, May feels as if Tsuyoshi has completely stolen Kyoko away from her and it makes her a little sad, though she would never say that out loud. Suddenly, Kyoko tries to feed May a spoonful of her ice cream and May Happily accepts it. Seeing May smile makes Kyoko feel happy, too, so she promises that the two of them should go out
more often and try lots of new things together. May is touched, but she admits she also enjoys watching Kyoko get all worked up over Tsuyoshi. The next day, both Tsuyoshi and Kyoko prepare for their date. Soon, Tsuyoshi arrives at her house with a small cake in hand and both of them get stunned when they see each other in casual Clothes. Tsuyoshi tries to compliment Kyoko, but the words get stuck, so he forces them out with a confused, awkward expression. When Kyoko returns the compliment, Tsuyoshi can hardly breathe. As they go inside, the two start talking,
but Tsuyoshi grows more and more distracted. He wanted to be alone with her so he could figure out why his heart is racing like crazy, yet being close to her only makes it worse. He hands Kyoko the cake He bought and she brightens instantly. Tsuyoshi even explains how he made sure the cake stayed safe no matter what happened to him on the way. Kyoko assumes he hasn't had lunch yet, so she offers to cook omelet rice for him. [music] Tsuyoshi instantly lights up the moment she mentions it and even though Kyoko wants him to rest
in the living room while she cooks, Tsuyoshi says he wants to watch beside her as she does it. Tsuyoshi watches her in admiration even though she's just beating eggs. She fries the omelet while he continues to observe her and when everything is ready, Kyoko plates it beautifully. Tsuyoshi takes a bite and immediately beams with joy, so Kyoko tries it, too. While they eat, Tsuyoshi notices a small dot of ketchup on her lip. He's about to tell her, but then remembers how Hashiba wiped the stain off her face himself. With that, Tsuyoshi quickly grabs a Tissue
and leans in to wipe the ketchup from Kyoko's cheek, but the sudden closeness makes her panic. Startled, Tsuyoshi pulls back as well and apologizes. To break the awkwardness, they both pretend nothing happened and return to their food, chatting about random things. Once they finish eating, the two settle down to study. Tsuyoshi can't help but glance at Kyoko from time to time. He asks if she's having trouble with anything, but Kyoko insists she's Doing fine. When she leans closer to look at his answer sheets, she's surprised to see how far ahead he already is, though he
admits he isn't completely confident in his answers yet. Curious, Kyoko asks what he wants to do after high school, but Tsuyoshi admits he hasn't figured it out yet. The only thing he wants right now is for Kyoko to see him as someone dependable. Touched, Kyoko promises to do her best for him, too. Hearing her words, Tsuyoshi feels His chest tighten all over again. Tsuyoshi is just about to ask a question when Kyoko's younger siblings burst through the door. With that, Tsuyoshi stands to greet them and offers the cake he brought. Kyoko suggests taking a short
break so they can all enjoy it together and Tsuyoshi agrees. They each take a slice and Kyoko mentions that cheesecake is her favorite. The comment jogs her memory and she asks about the question he was going to ask earlier. However, Tsuyoshi claims he's already forgotten it and simply takes another bite of his cake. When Kyoko remarks that the cake tastes delicious, her smile seems to brighten in his eyes. This startles him, so Tsuyoshi excuses himself, saying he needs to head home because he has plans with his family. Kyoko decides to walk Tsuyoshi home for a
little bit and along the way, they chat about their date. She takes a moment to thank him for visiting and for Bringing the cake and Tsuyoshi shyly thanks her back. They continue walking until they reach the end of the street where Tsuyoshi is about to head off in his own direction when Kyoko suddenly calls out to him. Kyoko tells him that he looks so cool today that her heart wouldn't stop racing. Tsuyoshi freezes as his eyes widen because he's been feeling the exact same thing. Then, he turns away, continuing down the road as Kyoko waves
goodbye. When Tsuyoshi gets home, he receives a message from Kyoko thanking him again for coming and for bringing the cake. She adds that he's welcome to come by again anytime if he'd like. Tsuyoshi feels his chest tighten as he touches his heart, blushing at the thought of seeing her again tomorrow. Noticing this, his father grows nervous and asks if his heart hurts. The next day, Izumi brings out the exchange diary she found from first Grade and a profile book from sixth grade. Everyone leans closer to read feeling nostalgic over them, while Tsuyoshi remains curious. So,
Kyoko explains exactly what they are. As they read, May notices Izumi's birthday, which prompts everyone to share their own birthdays as well. Then, Haruto turns to Tsuyoshi and asks when his birthday is, too. To their surprise, Tsuyoshi reveals that his birthday is 2 days away. When his Birthday arrives, the group peaks through the classroom door spotting Tsuyoshi walking down the hallway. They immediately dash inside and hide behind the podium before he enters. As Tsuyoshi steps into the room, he finds no one there again. His desk is covered with snacks, and he approaches it cautiously. Just
then, everyone jumps out and pops their confetti at the same time, greeting him with a happy birthday and Haruto even dressed up to entertain him. Sue and a few other classmates wander in surprised to see a celebration happening, so they join in and greet him all together. Tsuyoshi stands frozen, and as the girls observe his reaction, May notices that he's actually freaking out, making Kyoko think they overdid it. However, Tsuyoshi quickly thanks them saying he can't believe they threw a surprise party just for him. And they give him a warm applause. Watching him, Kyoko realizes
That Tsuyoshi might have never celebrated his birthday at school before, so they promise to make this his most unforgettable one. During PE, the class plays basketball while Kyoko sits on the sidelines watching. May and Izumi whisper beside her, but she's lost in thought wondering when she should give Tsuyoshi her gift. When she suddenly hears Izumi mention his name, she instinctively turns to them. The two quickly pretend they were talking about Something else, so Kyoko brushes it off. Later, Hashiba also hands Tsuyoshi his gift saying he missed the snack tower they made that morning, so he's
giving the snack to him now. Tsuyoshi accepts it admitting he's always wanted to try that treat. However, all the gifts he received from his friends feel too precious to eat, which makes May joke that she'll eat them for him. Just then, Tsuyoshi notices something Behind the chocolate. It's a piece of paper, and his friends immediately tease him that it's a love letter from Hashiba, so he should read it when he's alone. But Tsuyoshi insists on reading it right away. Kyoko also wants to see what it is, but May simply taps her shoulder and tells her
that she has an idea about Tsuyoshi's gift. When Tsuyoshi opens the paper, he finds a message telling him to go to the art room where a special gift is waiting. Curious, he heads over while his friends trail behind hiding and recording him in excitement. Kyoko asks her companions whether the special gift is supposed to be the one from her, but they simply smile suspiciously. A moment later, Tsuyoshi emerges from the art room clutching his head. He glances in his friends' direction, so they quickly run out of sight. The next clue sends him to the faculty
room where a teacher hands him a package and Instructs him to deliver it to the English prep room. As soon as Tsuyoshi leaves, the friends rush to thank the teacher for helping them. >> [music] >> While the teacher can only comment fondly about how fun it is to be young while sobbing. In the middle of the hallway, Tsuyoshi suddenly forgets where the English prep room is, so he looks around helplessly, prompting Kyoko to step out and attempt To help him, only for Tsuyoshi to instantly remember. But the group begins questioning whether there's any point in
hiding anymore. They trail after him to the second floor watching him wander like a lost child. When he turns his head toward them, they all panic and duck behind Haruto as if they haven't been caught. In the English prep room, there's another note on the table instructing Tsuyoshi to head to the audio-visual room. When he arrives, He doesn't notice the next clue right away, so Izumi points it out for him. The following hint is so vague that Tsuyoshi has to ask his friends what it means, and even though they pretend to stay out of it,
they still give him the answer. In their usual classroom, Tsuyoshi finds the final clue telling him to go up the stairs. He wonders if he's supposed to head to the rooftop, but when he turns around, his friends have already disappeared. With no other Choice, he goes up the stairs where he discovers a large box. When he opens it, he finds Kyoko inside. Tsuyoshi is so startled that he steps on his own foot, stumbles against the wall, and falls to the floor. Embarrassed, Kyoko explains that they originally planned to place her gift inside, but May suggested
that Kyoko should be the special gift. Even so, she still hands him her real gift. When Tsuyoshi opens it, he finds a sketchbook and a set of pencils. Kyoko Had noticed how much he loves drawing, so she wanted him to create more. Tsuyoshi beams admitting he has never used such pencils before, so he's excited. When he opens the first page, he finds a drawing inside. It's a portrait Kyoko made of him and the friends, though it doesn't look like them at all, so Tsuyoshi suddenly starts giggling. Even though Kyoko insists he can rip it out,
he refuses saying he wants to keep it forever. Tsuyoshi tells Kyoko that he never expected to be celebrated like this by his friends, and he considers it his best birthday ever. Hearing that, Kyoko can't help but tear up while their friends secretly [music] watch them from the steps of the stairs. Izumi then reveals that the notes had hidden clues as well, which spelled out Kyoko's name. Later in the library, Kyoko invites Tsuyoshi to try keeping an exchange diary. She explains that since he seemed Interested when they discussed it, it would be a good way to
learn more about him, so Tsuyoshi readily agrees. They begin by filling in their personal information in a profile book, and Kyoko is amazed at how much she's learning about him all at once. Next, they establish rules for their exchange diary. Feeling nervous, Tsuyoshi suggests to doing a test run, [music] so Kyoko volunteers to write the first entry. In the diary, Kyoko Expresses her gratitude to Tsuyoshi for participating in the exchange with her and proceeds to ask if anything has surprised him recently, quickly covering her face in embarrassment aware that her question sounds silly. Tsuyoshi reads
it, and after a short while, he writes his response and returns the diary to Kyoko, marking the completion of their first exchange. Kyoko reads his reply where he recounts dreaming about a never-ending summer sending him into a Cold sweat, which surprised him when he woke up. This makes Kyoko feel a bit worried for him, but then she notices a cute drawing beside his entry. He also asks Kyoko about her favorite food mentioning that he loves chocolates and sweets in particular. Kyoko finds Tsuyoshi's drawing so adorable, so she writes about them in her next diary entry.
Then she answers his question saying her favorite food is taiyaki and even includes a small drawing of it. Upon seeing it, Tsuyoshi bursts into laughter leaving Kyoko confused unable to understand why he finds it so funny, yet she can't help but admire his joyful laugh. Seeing him like that, Kyoko reflects on how she had worried the diary exchange might bother him, but now she realizes it has been worth it. Tsuyoshi also suggests adding a new rule, which is to always include a drawing for every diary entry. From that point on, they continue Exchanging diary entries,
sharing personal stories, and learning more about each other. Tsuyoshi even recounts a childhood memory when his bread turned into a messy disaster after he lost a tooth while biting it, and he cried out of frustration, prompting Kyoko to cry in despair as well. Next, Tsuyoshi shares that he is an only child, while Kyoko writes that she has a younger brother and sister. She even includes a small drawing in her entry, which Tsuyoshi mistakes as rice balls with arms. Kyoko explains that it's actually a portrait of her siblings, but Tsuyoshi admits that he was just teasing
her because her reactions are always entertaining. Following that, Kyoko recalls a portrait they did together in art class that received a lot of praise from him. And Tsuyoshi explains that he had genuinely been happy with her work. Kyoko also learns that Tsuyoshi's father is a college professor, though his Lessons often seem a bit too complicated for Tsuyoshi. While writing her diary entry, Tsuyoshi can't help but glance at Kyoko waiting for her next drawing. They spend such a lovely time at the library that they don't realize they have already filled half of it. Kyoko suggests that
it is enough for the day, but since they are already immersed in it, Tsuyoshi wants to take the diary home for once. Kyoko agrees and writes one final entry Before handing it to him. That night, Tsuyoshi arrives home, immediately opens his bag to retrieve the diary. He wonders what Kyoko might have written, but as soon as he opens it, his expression changes. It turns out she asked him about his left eye and why he keeps wearing an eye patch. The next day, Kyoko reads Tsuyoshi's response, which explains that his eye injury has actually healed a
long time ago. Curious, she intends to ask him about it Directly, but then the teacher enters forcing her to stay quiet. Throughout class, Kyoko keeps spacing out wondering why Tsuyoshi still needs an eye patch. Her imagination runs wild thinking perhaps Tsuyoshi is a superhuman who must keep his eye covered, but she brushes the thought aside simply wishing she could see him without it one day. After class, she turns to speak to Tsuyoshi and finds him gone. May informs her that he left as soon as The bell rang. The same scenario repeats during the next break
and again during the one after that. Finally, at lunch break, Kyoko goes to the stairs and finds Tsuyoshi sitting alone, so she asks him why he keeps disappearing after breaks. Tsuyoshi pretends he just wanted a new pace, but Kyoko pulls out the diary once again, worried that he might have an injury that isn't healing properly. However, she also points out that he Forgot to include a drawing in his entry, so Tsuyoshi laughs and apologizes. Kyoko asks Tsuyoshi why he still uses an eye patch, but he only falls silent. Despite this, she tries to keep the
conversation casual, yet his quietness lingers. He pretends to focus on the diary, but Kyoko senses something's wrong and quickly apologizes. She worries she has been insensitive by pushing for answers, but Tsuyoshi pauses Before quietly admitting the truth, that his eyes are slightly different in color, and he keeps wearing an eye patch because it makes him self-conscious. Kyoko is startled by this, though Tsuyoshi insists the difference isn't that noticeable. He explains that a minor accident in middle school changed the color of one eye, and everyone around him kept commenting on it. This surprises Kyoko so much
that she instinctively raises her voice causing Tsuyoshi to fall from his seat. He immediately apologizes explaining he's just very self-conscious and asks if wearing the eye patch seems weird. Kyoko assures him it's not and thanks him sincerely for opening up to her instead. Then the bell rings reminding Kyoko that she has a task assigned by their teacher, so she needs to head to the faculty room immediately. As she runs down the stairs, Tsuyoshi can't help but call out a thank you. Walking back to Class, Tsuyoshi reflects on his words. He hasn't lied about the eye
patch, but he fears that revealing the whole truth might push people away. Just then he passes by Okamoto who recognizes him and confirms that he's still wearing the eye patch even now. The class discusses ideas for the school festival with several students eagerly sharing suggestions. Haruto suggests Splash Mountain shocking his classmates, but Kyoko turns her attention to Tsuyoshi to Ask what he wants. However, he only sits quietly with his head down prompting her to ask if something's wrong. He doesn't respond until she taps his shoulder startling him. He brushes it off as a habit, but
Kyoko still wants to understand what's bothering him. Soon the leader writes the suggestions on the board and announces that they'll settle things with a vote. The two final options are a cosplay cafe and a haunted house. The leader is losing his mind over the disagreement when they are suddenly interrupted by Tsuyoshi who is having a nosebleed. Kyoko volunteers to take him to the nurse's office and Hashiba and Izumi offer to help as well. Tsuyoshi can only apologize that his desk is now covered in blood-soaked tissues. After the commotion, the class returns to the festival discussion.
That's when the leader finally snaps with an idea and announces they'll combine both themes by creating a cute ghost-themed cafe with lots of fake blood decor. Later Izumi chats with Kyoko and May mentioning that most classes usually pick either a haunted house or a cafe, so combining the two makes their idea unique. Everyone seems excited about it, too. The leader even admits he got the Inspiration from Tsuyoshi's bloody nose. May insists she wants a full splatter style cafe, though Kyoko doubts the school would ever approve that. As they continue talking, May suddenly notices Tsuyoshi being
sandwiched by two girls. Izumi teases Kyoko about being jealous, but she simply replies there's no reason to be. Kyoko also wonders whether Tsuyoshi has ever experienced a school festival before, but Tsuyoshi suddenly laughs at Something the girls say stopping her thoughts. Still she admits she's just curious about what made him laugh and not jealous. As Tsuyoshi continues chatting with the girls, one of them asks if he can take off his eye patch, but he politely refuses. Instead, they decide to design his costume around it. When the girls leave, they gush about how easy he is
to talk to and how charming he is. Even so, Kyoko thinks this is actually a good thing. Meanwhile, Hashiba is struggling with a drawing his friends can only laugh at it. They were assigned to help with decorations, yet none of them can draw. As Hashiba looks around, his eyes land on the curtain where Tsuyoshi is hiding. Hashiba approaches him prompting Tsuyoshi to admit he didn't want to cause trouble, but then his eye begins spiraling intensely confusing Hashiba. That's when Hashiba gets an idea. Knowing Tsuyoshi is incredibly good at Drawing, he immediately invites him to join
their prep team as they desperately need his help. When Kyoko enters the classroom, she's delighted to see Tsuyoshi being hyped up by their classmates. They joke about how terrifying their own drawings look compared to Tsuyoshi's, which sends him into uncontrollable laughter. As they continue teasing each other, Kyoko can only smile warmly at the Scene. Their festival preparations go smoothly. May and Haruto are especially enthusiastic about the food, while Izumi can't stop admiring the costumes. Tsuyoshi with his new found friends also enjoys every moment. After the prep day ends, Hashiba catches up to Tsuyoshi in the
hallway asking if he still has anything to do since everyone else has already gone home. Tsuyoshi says he's just wandering around because he's Happy. Curious, Hashiba asks why. Tsuyoshi then admits that this is the first time he's ever been this involved in preparing for a school festival. Hearing that, Hashiba immediately expresses how glad he is for him and thanks him for all the help he gave. Still, Hashiba can't help but ask if Tsuyoshi normally goes around hiding like that. He wonders if something happened during a past school festival that made him act this way. Tsuyoshi
Pauses struggling to answer, so Hashiba quickly eases the tension saying that things happen sometimes and it's perfectly normal. >> [music] >> On their way out, Tsuyoshi offers to treat Hashiba to some drinks as a thank you. On the day of the festival, everyone is excited. The class's food is prepared, the venue is set, and the atmosphere is buzzing. Since each student has a designated Shift for the cafe, those whose turns are later decide to explore first. Kyoko and her friends are about to head out when they're reminded to at least carry their sign so people
will know their class is running a cafe, but they have to do it in costume. And so Kyoko and the others wander around in their scary outfits holding the sign and unintentionally drawing everyone's attention. Izumi praises Kyoko's costume and Tsuyoshi also stands out with his Impressively detailed doctor getup. The fake blood worries Kyoko a little, but she has to admit that Tsuyoshi looks surprisingly good in it. Everyone admires each other's costumes until May suddenly spots a food stall everyone has been talking about. She rushes off immediately with Haruto chasing after her. Kyoko then turns to
Tsuyoshi and asks if there's anywhere he wants to visit first offering to go with him. Just then, a Girl holding a glass of water bumps into Tsuyoshi's back leaving a wet spot on his lab coat. Kyoko immediately suggests they find somewhere to clean it. Meanwhile, Hashiba and Izumi stay behind to promote the class cafe. [music] A passing student recognizes them and jokingly asks if they're on a date. Hashiba quickly denies it, but the girl keeps teasing them. Hashiba then casually remarks that Izumi is cute, which makes her burst into laughter as It's the first time
he has ever said something like that. Embarrassed, Hashiba brushes it off and excuses himself to find a drink. At the same time, Kyoko and Tsuyoshi return and notice Izumi's flushed cheeks. She waves it off and explains that Hashiba wandered off somewhere. Soon after, May and Haruto also come back carrying a couple of food they excitedly share with the group. As they chat, Izumi shows them something on her phone pointing out That their cafe seems to be getting a bit of attention already. The group decides to head back, but Tsuyoshi freezes as he notices Okamoto in
front of him. His heart starts pounding as Okamoto gives him a smile. Kyoko steps closer asking him what's wrong. Tsuyoshi quickly suggests they return inside leaving Okamoto behind. Once they're back inside, Kyoko realizes they somehow got separated from the others. Then her phone buzzes with messages from both May and Izumi. That's when she understands that they set her up so she'd end up alone with Tsuyoshi. As she processes this, the girl who bumped into Tsuyoshi earlier approaches again and asks for a photo. She explains that when she ran into him, it felt like love at
first sight. Kyoko freezes. She knows Tsuyoshi looks striking in his costume with an eye patch, but even so she still feels Frustrated over it. She tells herself it's fine as long as he's having fun, but the girl immediately asks if she can post the picture on her account and then requests that he take off his eye patch. That's when Kyoko snaps. She steps forward and tells the girl to delete the photo. Startled, the girl quickly agrees before deleting it and rushing away. The commotion draws several eyes toward them, so Tsuyoshi suggests they move Somewhere else.
They end up sitting on the stairs away from the noise. Tsuyoshi thanks her for stepping in admitting he's never seen her that angry before. Embarrassed, Kyoko hopes he'll forget about it, but he only smiles and says he feels most at ease when he's alone with her. As thanks for saving him, he offers to do something for her in return. Kyoko hesitates before admitting she acted out of jealousy. Tsuyoshi guesses it's Because she wanted to take a photo with him, too. That isn't exactly what she meant, but she shyly confesses she would like a picture together.
They try taking one, but Tsuyoshi's face ends up half cut off, so they try again leaning closer this time as Kyoko holds up her phone. The second comes out perfect and with their faces so close, Tsuyoshi can't help but admire her. When they finally check the time, it's almost their shift, So they rush back to the cafe. Izumi reminds them of their roles before Kyoko heads to serve customers. Hashiba approaches Tsuyoshi and points out that people are actually taking pictures with his drawings. Seeing others enjoy his art moves Tsuyoshi until he notices a group admiring
Hashiba's drawings, too. They keep calling them cursed, which makes Hashiba suggest they should just take it down. A table calls for service, so Hashiba steps forward to assist them. At the same moment, Okamoto raises her hand to order and Tsuyoshi ends up approaching her. To his surprise, she greets him cheerfully, but he simply moves on to take her order acting like he doesn't recognize her. Forced to play along, Okamoto orders pancakes and Tsuyoshi leaves quickly. Before the moment settles, Kyoko hands Okamoto's pancakes to her right away. At the counter, Kyoko notices Tsuyoshi spacing out and
asks what's wrong. She suggests he take a break, but Tsuyoshi insists he's fine. While they talk, he doesn't notice that Okamoto keeps glancing at them across the room. That night, the students gather around the bonfire and the group silently wishes the school festival would never end though it would be exhausting. As everyone zones out watching the flames, Izumi craves something more exciting. May suggests sharing an urban legend that says if two people hold hands while watching the bonfire, they'll end up together forever. Haruto jokingly suggests making it happen and May's eyes land on Kyoko and
Tsuyoshi nearby. She approaches Kyoko to explain the legend, while Izumi adds that it has been passed down for generations. Kyoko glances at Tsuyoshi May's words echoing in her mind though She keeps insisting it can't possibly be real. Just then, Hashiba arrives and Izumi tells him she's been looking for him. He explains he was in the bathroom, but Yamashita interrupts claiming Hashiba was actually being asked out by someone from another class. When Izumi asks how he responded, Hashiba simply says he declined. Yamashita can't believe Hashiba actually declined, but Izumi can't help feeling relieved. She even teases
him calling Him a dangerous guy, which only frustrates Hashiba further. Hearing them argue, Yamashita complains that they're flirting while he's stuck being the third wheel. He then points out that they're surrounded by sweet couples suggesting it must be because of the urban legend. Surprisingly, Hashiba has heard of it, too, but Izumi admits they only made it up moments ago. It turns out Haruto had casually Mentioned it to a few people and the story spread like wildfire. Soon the girls start talking about the legend and some students take it as an opportunity to show their feelings.
Despite this, Tsuyoshi and Kyoko remain hesitant. Tsuyoshi overhears discussions about it, while Kyoko can't believe that such a legend could actually have any truth. >> [music] >> With that, Kyoko invites Tsuyoshi to try The legend, but he declines, saying he might not breathe well like the last time they attempted to hold hands. Kyoko suspects he's embarrassed, and Tsuyoshi admits that he may be. Still, Kyoko points out that she feels the same way about holding hands, so she offers her pinky instead. Tsuyoshi smiles and agrees. They link their pinky fingers, turning their attention to the bonfire
in front of them. The moment feels precious, with everyone else quietly watching the flames flicker. As the night deepens, Kyoko and Tsuyoshi keep their fingers intertwined. However, Okamoto suddenly appears nearby. Tsuyoshi notices her immediately, and then he subtly moves away from Kyoko and sits down a short distance away. A week after the festival, the friends settle back into their usual school routine. Amid it all, Kyoko finds herself distracted. Her thoughts drift to her pinky finger as she glances at Tsuyoshi. She remembers how he suddenly stepped away from her that night of the festival, >> [music]
>> and how she immediately worried. If she noticed there were burn holes in his jacket, likely from sparks at the bonfire. That moment distracted her, so she never got a clear answer from him. And now, That unanswered question makes her even more curious. While lost in thought, Kyoko accidentally bumps into Tsuyoshi not noticing that he has stopped walking. It turns out he halted because Okamoto was standing in front of him. Kyoko recognizes her from their cafe booth at the festival, and Okamoto soon reveals that she's actually Tsuyoshi's classmate from junior high. When asked if he
remembers her, Tsuyoshi hesitates, Taking a moment before admitting that he does. Okamoto explains that she has just transferred to the school and is now in class five. She wonders if she should leave, but before doing so, she asks Tsuyoshi whether he is still bothered by what happened back then. >> [music] >> At that, Tsuyoshi's expression shifts. He turns to Kyoko and asks her to go on Ahead without him, so Kyoko returns to the others and explains the situation. However, when Okamoto begins speaking again, Kyoko's curiosity grows, especially when she notices how close the two seem.
With that, she decides to stay behind and eavesdrop as Tsuyoshi and Okamoto enter an empty classroom to talk. From outside, Kyoko stays hidden, recalling how distant Tsuyoshi has been lately. Since the festival, something about him has felt off, and now she can't help but suspect that Okamoto may be part of the reason. Inside the classroom, Okamoto says she wants to talk to Tsuyoshi again. She points out how he has gained many friends while she is still alone. Tsuyoshi responds that she should not involve herself with him anymore. So, she wonders why he is allowed to
make new friends if she is not allowed to be one of them. A heavy silence Settles between them, so Okamoto forces a laugh before mentioning something about a curse. Hearing that makes Kyoko panic, but before anything more can be said, the school bell rings. Tsuyoshi excuses himself, and Kyoko quickly runs back to the classroom. Moments later, Tsuyoshi returns as well. When school ends, Kyoko invites Tsuyoshi to walk home together, and he agrees. As they walk, an awkward silence stretches Between them. Near Tsuyoshi's house, Kyoko finally breaks it. She admits that she overheard his conversation with
Okamoto and brings up the curse she mentioned. Tsuyoshi tries to explain that it is nothing serious, but Kyoko clearly does not believe him. With that, Tsuyoshi recalls a story from junior high. During their second year, he saw Okamoto struggling with her bicycle and rushed over to help her. As he grabbed it, another bicycle toppled over. In the chaos, his foot got caught in the pedal, and he fell hard onto the ground. Later that day, whispers began to spread about Tsuyoshi coming to class with injuries every day. Before long, rumors about him being cursed took hold.
Okamoto overheard classmates talking, mocking his eye patch, and calling him weird. So, during the school festival, when everyone else was busy and laughing, Tsuyoshi chose to Wander the art exhibit alone. Okamoto noticed him there and immediately asked why he was by himself. >> [music] >> Tsuyoshi explained that he simply wanted to see the exhibit and spend time alone in the break area. He tried to keep his distance, but Okamoto seemed interested in befriending him, and the two eventually went to the break area together. She asked if he disliked events at the Festival. Tsuyoshi admitted he
actually liked them. That answer puzzled her, and she asked why he kept himself apart. With that, Tsuyoshi confessed that he was afraid of causing trouble for others, so he chose to step back instead. Even so, he told her he loved the festival's bright, lively mood. That made Okamoto conclude that Tsuyoshi was actually a cheerful person. She couldn't help but ask about his eye patch, so Tsuyoshi explained that people Had started pointing out that his eyes were different colors the previous year, which made him feel embarrassed. So, he had decided to wear the eye patch. Even
though Okamoto thought wearing it still drew attention, she couldn't resist wanting to see his eyes without it. Tsuyoshi felt the difference wasn't noticeable, but allowed her [music] a brief look. The sight amazed Okamoto, and she insisted he didn't need to wear it at all. Then, Okamoto invited Tsuyoshi to check out the festival booths as they headed to the next break area, saying it wasn't good to hog the bench the whole time. As they walked, she encouraged him to stop wearing the eye patch, explaining that everyone's misunderstandings about him came from it. Tsuyoshi had never considered
it that way before, but when he removed his eye patch in front of Okamoto earlier, he admitted it felt refreshing. He even shared that maybe after the festival, he Would start going to school without it again. However, just as they were talking, a large sign suddenly fell right in front of them, causing a commotion. The next day, Tsuyoshi goes to class without his eye patch, but the students immediately start talking about it. They bring up the incident with the falling sign, which injured his cheek, and even mention that Okamoto was hurt alongside him. The rumors
escalate, with some Claiming that looking at his right eye could bring misfortune. Hearing all this, Tsuyoshi feels pressured and decides to wear the eye patch all the time again, even when he's outside school. To avoid further complications, he even distances himself from Okamoto, who eventually transfers to another school. Kyoko feels deeply saddened when she hears this. She can't help but sob at his story, while Tsuyoshi quietly Apologizes for hiding the truth from her, explaining he should have told her his eye was cursed. In that moment, Kyoko understands that Tsuyoshi actually believed the rumors were true.
The next day in class, Hashiba notices the distance between Tsuyoshi and Kyoko, sensing something is off, as his usual sight of them seems noticeably different. Still, Hashiba brushes it off, telling himself it doesn't concern him. But when he comes across Tsuyoshi And tries to talk, Tsuyoshi ignores him completely, leaving him shocked. Haruto also barges in, asking if they had fought, but Hashiba senses it's something else. Later that day, while Hashiba and Kyoko are handling their committee responsibilities, he asks her if she's noticed anything strange about Tsuyoshi. Kyoko tries to brush it off, but she's clearly
bad at lying. Hashiba quickly sees through her, and seeing how Troubled he is, Kyoko decides to tell him the truth about the curse. >> [music] >> Hashiba feels relieved that Tsuyoshi doesn't hate him, but he's also frustrated that Tsuyoshi actually believed such rumors. Kyoko also explains that Tsuyoshi's guilt for hiding the truth has made things awkward ever since. However, as they are talking, Kyoko notices Okamoto listening nearby, so she Approaches her, startling Okamoto in the process. Hashiba also joins in, and she introduces herself. It turns out Okamoto overheard their earlier conversation and realizes they already
know about what happened with Tsuyoshi. Kyoko apologizes for eavesdropping on her conversation with Tsuyoshi, but Okamoto feels guilty as well. She explains that she became too persistent in trying to talk to him, which unintentionally dredged up his past Trauma. This makes her overthink, believing she caused Tsuyoshi's sudden change in behavior, and that she's the reason her friendships with others were affected. Hashiba immediately stops her, reassuring her that it isn't her fault, and Kyoko also agrees. However, she notes that they still need to erase Tsuyoshi's trauma. With that, the group suddenly surrounds Tsuyoshi together. Kyoko's idea
is for everyone To stay close to him, showing that he isn't hurting them at all. In reality, it's much like usual, since none of them have ever been harmed by sticking with him from the beginning. Their friends eagerly pitch in, surrounding Tsuyoshi, but he quickly becomes flustered and starts trembling. >> [music] >> Trying to ease the tension, the group invites him to eat takoyaki with them. For a moment, his face lights up, but After a quick hesitation, his expression shifts again, and he decides to run off, claiming he needs to take care of something. But
in his haste, he accidentally bumps into a post. Undeterred, the group tries a new tactic. Kyoko pretends to struggle picking up the things she has dropped, knowing Tsuyoshi cannot ignore someone in need. As he bends down to help her, he notices the rest of the group close behind, all seemingly needing his Assistance as well. Overwhelmed, he panics and rushes away once more, leaving the group exasperated. Up next, they lay out a trail of snacks along Tsuyoshi's path. He quickly takes the bait, picking them up one by one, but when he reaches a gap in the
lockers, he notices Haruto hiding there and immediately [music] bolts in surprise. Frustrated, the group decides to hold another strategy meeting. Unbeknownst to them, Tsuyoshi is nearby, quietly Listening to them. In the end, they still fail to come up with a solid plan, so they decide to re-strategize over takoyaki. As they walk, he spots Tsuyoshi lingering in the lockers. Kyoko calls out to him, but he turns away, trying to avoid them. That is when Kyoko finally breaks down, asking if he plans to never talk to them again. Tsuyoshi stops and apologizes. He admits That [music] he
wants to stay connected with all of them. He used to be fine being alone, but now not being able to talk to his friends already makes him miserable. Okamoto then speaks up, saying she understands exactly how he feels. When he avoided her before, what hurt the most was not the injury, but the pain of being ignored. She tells him that what happened was never his fault. The class simply created a baseless rumor and Clung to it. All she can do now is apologize for not standing up for him back then, and Tsuyoshi returns the apology
for avoiding her. Kyoko adds that by avoiding everyone for their sake, he's only hurting them more because none of them want to cut ties with him. >> [music] >> Hearing this, Tsuyoshi finally realizes how deeply everyone cares about him. He admits he was afraid of being called Weird or disliked, so he chose to distance himself before anyone else could. Still, he confesses that ever since he met all of them, his days have been brighter. He cannot imagine his high school life without them. With that, he asks for their forgiveness and says he wants to keep
