in this video we're going to talk about eight quotes from the best traders in the world stay tuned hey traders are very warm welcome to you okay so I've got for you stick the pen in my pocket eight quotes from the best traders in the world and I think these are really really good a cup of them are absolute gems alright let's start with Stanley Druckenmiller we have a good one here the way to build long-term returns is through the preservation of capital and home runs what does he mean by that he means that hey
if you want the long-term success in training if you want to build the wealth you have to preserve your capital we have to manage your risk you have to make sure the trades aren't damaging you that's the first key and this is a theme that goes through you know a lot of these guys and we talk about it time and time and time and time again and we know we've got to keep the risk and manage keep the loss is small but the end the thing the ads on this is that home runs what does
it mean by that he means that hey when things are working you want to go chips in on that you want to really press it you want to keep the losses small kid loss is small but the big growth you have all we've talked about in other videos about having that big exponential growth in account from size from time to time times when you've got to go in you've got to start pushing some those chips on the table you've got to start taking more risk go for those home runs when the time is right while
still being careful you're not losing money it's a fine line but that's how you get a long term growth like it really good one okay well we're going to portrait of Jose that have video on him before just portrait of Joan stuff really good trader I like him a lot are you guys like him as well he says I will keep cutting down my position size as I have losing trades when I'm trading poorly I keep reducing my position size that way I'm trading my smallest position size with my trading is worse talked about exactly
this quote before but it's worth remembering and guys if you could implement this into your own trading plan your well ahead of the game well ahead of the game so basically if you're trading is rubbish if you are just everything wrong Harvey position sighs have it again have it have it Harvey so the damage is limited most people do the opposite they kind of say oh I want to get back so I'll increase my position size and causing grouchy with the Marquise performing badly your accounts gone in a blink you do what portrait of Jones
does it says listen I just cut it cut it cut it so when my training is just diabolical I'm in such a small amount of size it doesn't matter and then when I'm trading good II didn't say this but your shoe me is trading good he presses he presses he presses this is the thing we've got already Stanley and Petey Petey J have said this right next one this is I don't think you can consistently be a winning trade if you're banking on being right more than 50% of the time you have to figure out
how to make money being right only 20 to 30 percent of time this is an interesting one because he's basically saying you know what you can be wrong wrong wrong wrong but when you're right you make sure the risk reward ratio is really really good and it makes perfect sense you know a lot of the best writers out there or wrong often but when they're right they're right we've got this theme there with me guys put your chips in when you're right going for the homeruns you know cut back on your small ones and press
on your winners and now bill it's Bill saying hey listen if you write 22 throat so it's homey you still make money that's how you've got a kind of formulate your plan and it makes a lot of sense you don't have to be making good right trades all the time when the ones that are right are making you the money that's what it's all about a lot of great traders you know buy that kind of rule all right what we tell them - now on to George George Soros says unfortunately the more complex the system
the greater room for error so he's really saying here just keep things simple you know don't overload stuff and I guess you could say with a kind of modern trading conditions is those stick loads of indicators on your charts don't over do the analysis because you got room for messing the whole thing up keep it simple break up strategy pull back strategy buying it resistance buying the support very simply structured trade no need to go crazy with a very decent advice I think from George okay Bruce Kovner the Heisenberg principle if something is closely this
is interesting this is interested the Heisenberg principle if something is closely observed the odds are it is going to be altered in the process the more price patent is observed by speculators the more prone you have false signals the more the market is a product of non-speculative to see the grace of the significance of a technical breakout what does he mean by that this is interesting guys basically he's saying if everybody is looking at it if everybody's speculating and everyone's looking to make money I'm off prospecting its position then often you're going to get false
signals in breakouts it's gonna push the highs we're gonna get people trying to take money from other traders it's a different framework to what he's suggesting here which is what I'm is where I'm interpreting he let me know in the comment section below if you interpret it differently he's saying here listen when a market is a product of non speculative activity ie you know let's say we have pension funds mutual funds just having to buy to put into a fund or we have refiners or refiners or oil consumers just hedging rather than speculating then perhaps
you're getting more likely that a significant technical breakout is going to occur in other words if we just have money flowing in because money has to flow in for whatever reason for hedging purposes all just to fill out mutual funds whatever it may be then that's more likely to be breaking out be a genuine breakout than if traders looking to capitalize on the short so in speculative gains are in it when you might get people kind of shorting it buying it and you might you might be a bit bit grubby that makes a lot of
sense because you know if you look at some of the smaller cap stocks for example that maybe aren't traded so much frequently of people investing in for longer term they're a little bit cleaner some of the commodities when the trends come in just purely from supply demand you know a coffee consumer just has to boil it a coffee because real company for commercial reasons you get these big trends that's interesting it's something to think about a little bit more closely anyway let's move on guys through a good old Jesse Livermore no trading rules will develop
a profit 100% of time we know this but it's worth remembering you know expectancy of our trade should be you know sensible and say hey we're not gonna make money all the time on this and so adjusting the position size to suit pretty pretty common right pretty logical advice there from Jesse Thank You Warren Buffett opportunities come in frequently when it rains gold put out the bucket not the thimble I've got a bit of a theme here gents and ladies we have a theme that says even more and more Buffett says himself listen when the
opportunities there fill the boat you know when he believes there's an opportunity like a citizen who says put up the bucket not a thimble what his meaning is go in you know press it press it for what it's worth these opportunities are very strict on the way he does it so how can you use that for your trading your trading might be very strict in the way that you define an entry or a good trade but when you see one you've got to go in you've got to kind of put your chips on the table
and take some risk and you know the difference is you're not doing that on every single tray you're waiting for the best trades to do that one all the best investments from Warren Buffett's perspective Benjamin Graham we've got from Benjamin Graham he says the best way is a measure investing success is not by whether you're beating the market but by whether you've put in place a financial plan and behavioral discipline that are likely to get you where you want to go in the end it doesn't matter what matters sorry isn't crossing the finish line before
anybody else just making sure that you do cross it so you know he's basically saying here is hey doesn't matter what everyone else is doing to try and beat everybody else or or you know gets a financial level of you looking to quickly just do it just try to mind your losses and just be cautious and just say hey you know what I've got a long term plan here I'm gonna get to where I want to go profitable trader X amount of money whatever it may be I just need to do this do this keep
reiterating my system keep trading my system adjusting adapting I don't need a swing for the fences on everything and try and get myself that million quid now I need to say okay just do it slowly let's do it methodic Li and it matters about getting to that point and stuff when you get to that point all right some really good stuff there guys the common theme is cutting the losses and making sure you go in when you've got a decent trade that's a hard one to do I get that I leave comments in the comment
section below you think about those and if you've got any others that you know that are great quotes from from really great traders from the best traders also in the comment section below I look forward to seeing those alright guys thumbs I feel like it's kind of stuff see in the next one oh don't forget subscribe something around here if you haven't yet all ready seriously can take care good trading bye bye you
