when we pray for God's kingdom to come we are requesting massive worldwide changes what will be eliminated from this planet what will remain we know you will have keen interests in this final talk of today's program entitled what will go when God's kingdom comes brother Daryl Christensen one of our Bethel speakers with 45 years of special full-time service will now present it to us it seems I'm the first member of the Bethel family to have a part in this program so a distinct honor Falls to me and that is that I have the privilege of expressing to all of you the warm love and the affection of the governing body in the Bethel family for all of you [Applause] well over 2 billion nominal Christians have memorized the words thy kingdom come and they repeat them some of them every day when they recite the Our Father prayer or the Lord's Prayer as they call it but it's interesting that nominal Christians are not the only ones who pray for God's kingdom to come when modern day Jews repeat the mourner's kaddish they say may God establish his kingdom in your lifetime and Muslims too accept the coming of God's Kingdom the principle of an Islamic College in strathfield Australia recently wrote to a newspaper like all Muslims I believe that Jesus will return and establish the true kingdom of God so we have well over 3 billion people expecting the coming of the kingdom of God and praying for it and yet when we ask them what is that Kingdom that we pray for generally their answer is effectively I don't know or something very vague and uncertain but in contrast Jehovah's people know a great deal about the kingdom in fact our principal message has that Kingdom as its theme and in this we're like our lord Jesus in Luke 4 43 we read that when the people of Capernaum tried to detain him to to make him stay with them a little longer his reply to them was also to other cities I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God because for this I was sent forth and for this we were sent forth in preaching about that Kingdom we are sharing with people the most exciting Good News in history the news that excites so many people nowadays the uh presidential election that's starting to warm up in this country or the so-called Arab Spring that has the attention of the world this is considered by many to be good news and people are excited because they believe that these developments will somehow improve people's lives and they hope that somehow these things are going to change the world in some way but even if all the best Promises of these developments were realized they would still pale into insignificance in comparison to the blessings that Jehovah's Kingdom has promised and will accomplish for people throughout the world the good news of the Kingdom truly is the most exciting news in history and Jehovah's organization has made that message simple clear and accessible to billions throughout the world we publish literature in well over 500 languages now approaching 600 and climbing and we are literally seeing the Fulfillment of Jesus prophecy in Matthew 24 14. this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited Earth for the purpose of a witness to all the nations and then the end will come now we've been doing this for nigh under a hundred years we're deep into the time of the end are we about done is the work starting to close down now in fact some even Among Us may feel that that's what's happening maybe they feel the good news has been preached it's done we're just cleaning up a few remnants over here one uh young woman from Italy not a witness but who is living in New York her mother is a witness in Italy and uh she came to Bethel and asked for somebody who spoke Italian so because my wife and I are in an Italian congregation my wife has called down to talk to her and she said that she'd been in this country for a month she called her mother recently and she said mother I've been here four months and the witnesses have never come to my door I haven't seen him on the street I haven't seen him in the subway where are they and her mother's comment was well you know we're way into the time of the end maybe the work is closing down maybe Jehovah's telling you that you need to go find them and so that's what she did she found out where Betha was and she came and she wanted contact the Italian district convention was that weekend and she came Sunday enjoyed the whole program and she's put in touch now with the local English congregation that she can walk to and there are some Italian speaking Publishers in that congregation um but what about her mother's view are we closing down is it coming to an end no on the contrary there are still hundreds of millions that need to be reached with the good news and among these surprisingly are millions of people who can hardly read or can't read at all they're illiterate or they have difficulty in Reading but these people are people they have a mind they can reason they can understand they have a heart they can be reached for the good news of the Kingdom they just can't read so it's a pleasure to announce at this convention the release of two new brochures one of them is entitled listen to God and live forever and the other one a more simplified Edition is called listen to God now these beautifully Illustrated brochures [Applause] these beautifully Illustrated brochures are intended to replace the brochure enjoy life on Earth forever that was also dedicated to helping people with difficulty reading to learn the truth but it was released back in 1982 some 32 years ago and that and this brochure did a wonderful work in helping people with reading difficulties learn the truth its distribution was enormous but times have changed the world has changed Jehovah's organization has made progress so it's time to replace that wonderful brochure with something more up to date and like the life on Earth brochure these two new brochures are designed to reach the widest possible audience in many languages with Jehovah's blessing they will soon become the most widely translated Publications we have ever produced um now be sure to get your copies at the end of today's program I realize that most of you are very good readers you may not need these but we urge you to get your copies read through them tonight there's not that much text in them you'll see what they contain bring them with you tomorrow because we'll learn more about them and how to use them in the field Ministry so our prayer is that these new Publications will help many more to become subjects of God's kingdom and we'll move them to unite with us in praying for God's kingdom to come and to know what they are praying for really the more we learn about God's Kingdom the more we meditate on it on what it will do how will affect people the greater our desire is to share in preaching the Good News of the Kingdom teaching what that Kingdom will do to others it's a fascinating subject so it's good for us to think about it and what it will mean so in this discourse we want to consider two things first of all how that Kingdom will come and then what it will eliminate forever in other words what will go when God's kingdom comes first of all how does the kingdom come now when we pray for God's kingdom to come just what are we asking for are we asking for Jehovah to establish his kingdom in the heavens no that took place in 1914 and so that was a vital part of God's will being done in heaven but Jesus was on earth when he told humans to pray for that Kingdom to come clearly meaning to come here to the earth that is to extend its power to the Earth because he followed that request with the words let your will take place as in heaven also upon Earth God's Kingdom is his means of accomplishing his will on the Earth but since full ruling Authority was conferred on Jesus in 1914 in what way does the kingdom still need to come it needs to come in the sense of exercising that Authority toward the Earth since the kingdom is a Heavenly government praying for it to come as a request that that kingdom come against all Earthly opposers of divine will or of divine rulership so God God's kingdom actually comes when Jesus the appointed King leads the attack against this world system of things the kingdom will come against all who oppose Jehovah's rule it will comment that it will extend its influence to the Earth and this is completely in harmony with Daniel's description in Daniel 2 44 when he was explaining Nebuchadnezzar the King's dream image and the stone that was caught out of the mountain and that struck the image in the feet and pulverized it Daniel 2 44 Daniel stated and in the days of those Kingdom those kings the god of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin that took place in 1914 that's when it was set up and the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms and it itself will stand to times indefinite so God's kingdom comes with destruction but it stays to build peace and this is how Isaiah in his own words described it in Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 7. Isaiah wrote to the abundance of the princely rule and to peace there will be no end upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom in order to establish it firmly and to sustain it by means of justice and by means of righteousness from now on into time indefinite the very Zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this so every every human will feel this profound influence every trace of today's Wicked system will be totally eliminated and removed so just what will God's kingdom remove let's focus on what won't be gone forever when God's kingdom comes and we'll consider four aspects of Life as we know it now in each case we'll discuss what is it that the kingdom will eliminate how it affects us now in in our lives what Jehovah will do and what effect that will have so first of all our first aspect when God's kingdom comes bad people will be gone and that includes violent bullies hateful bigots vicious criminals how do these bad people affect us now many of us many of you here have been victimized by people like this some carry physical scars but more of Us carry emotional scars and some of those last last a lifetime but whoever we are even if we haven't been a victim of bad people like that we shudder at newspaper headlines that TV reports the detailed acts of violence and cruelty that seem more demonic than human and that's quite in harmony with the scriptures the demons have a profound influence on Wicked people in James 3 15 James wrote speaking about the attitudes that are behind the hurtful things that people do this is not the wisdom that comes down from above but is the Earthly animal demonic and we live in a climate of fear as a result so what will Jehovah do about bad people please turn to Psalm 37 verses 10 and 11 and read these verses again with the idea of hunting for a wicked person Psalm 37 10 and 11.
David wrote and just a little while longer and the wicked one bad people will be no more and you will certainly give attention to his place and he will not be but the meek ones themselves will possess the Earth and they will indeed find their exquisity light in the abundance of peace so addressing those who will be subject of the Kingdom the psalmist says and you will certainly give attention to his place and he will not be search as we might we won't be able to find even one Wicked person of course Wicked people know how to hide sometimes they hide physically they may hide their identity they might hide themselves legally but not one Wicked person can hide from Jehovah Elijah when he was speaking to job about God he said in job 34 21-22 for his eyes are upon the ways of a man and all his steps he sees there is no Darkness nor any deep Shadow for those practicing what is hurtful to conceal themselves there Jehovah will remove each one of them from the Earth will that leave a vacuum no who will replace bad people those who loyally love Jehovah who love peace and who love righteousness if you're still in Psalm 37 please read with me verses 27-29 . David urges us turn away from what is bad and do what is good and so reside to time indefinite for Jehovah is a lover of justice and he will not leave his loyal ones to time indefinite they will certainly be guarded but as for The Offspring of the wicked ones they will indeed be cut off the righteous themselves will possess the Earth and they will reside forever upon it our second aspect when God's kingdom comes bad organizations will be gone and such organizations include religious organizations that hide truth and blind billions of people they include governments that foment War starve their people and fail to protect them they include big corporations wealthy ones that thrive on Greed pollute the planet and amass fortunes while Millions suffer in poverty out of these organizations affect us now because they're self-promoting they blind people to the truth they cause the death of millions they ruin the environment to sustains us all and they Foster greed and misery so what will Jehovah do about bad organizations please turn to Second Peter chapter 3 and verse 10. in these in this verse Peter describes the coming of the Kingdom in symbolic language as the coming of Jehovah's day because Jehovah's day will bring judgment to the Earth second Peter 3 verse 10.
yet Jehovah's day will come as a thief in which the heavens the exalted dominant organizations that control the lives of so many will pass away with a hissing noise but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved and Earth and the works in it will be discovered so human institutions and organizations may seem solid but they'll be discovered exposed revealed for what they really are and be removed once and for all what will replace bad organizations please read verse 13 of the same chapter but there are new heavens and a new Earth that we are awaiting according to his promise and in these righteousness is to dwell that new heavens and new earth are in reality Jehovah's organization so that organization will replace bad organizations and will ensure that all of our needs are filled our third aspect when God's kingdom comes wrong activities will be gone among these are rampant immorality pervasive dishonesty degrading entertainment and the pornography plague how do these activities affect us now they're prevalence they're sheer prevalence bombards people with temptation appealing to the worst in people drawing out from them things that they would never on under normal circumstances do uh pulling many toward degradation or outright depravity parents wonder how can we Shield our children from these influences because they're everywhere so what will Jehovah do about wrong activities please turn with me to Second Peter chapter 2 this time in verses 6 through 10. second Peter 2 and here Peter refers to a historical pattern about what Jehovah did in the past when terribly wrong activities were prevalent II Peter 2 verses 6 through 10. and by reducing the city Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them setting a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come and he delivered righteous law to was greatly distressed by the Indulgence of the law defying people in loose conduct that is wrong activities for that righteous man by what he saw and heard while dwelling among them from day to day was tormenting his righteous Soul by reason of their Lawless Deeds Jehovah knows how to deliver people of Godly devotion out of trial but to reserve unrighteous people for the day of judgment to be cut off especially however those who go on after flesh with a desire to defile it and to look down on lordship yes Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for immoral activity and he was motivated in part by a desire to protect the righteous well that same desire is behind the king's Kingdom's removal of all wrong activities so what will replace wrong activities and their influence in Isaiah 26 verse 9 we read Isaiah's description of what he so intensely was looking forward to under the kingdom Isaiah 26 and verse 9.
he wrote with my soul I have desired you in the night yes with my spirit within me I keep looking for you because when there are judgments from you for the earth that is when God's kingdom comes righteousness is what the inhabitants of the productive land will certainly learn Kingdom subjects will be trained in carrying out righteous acts building houses to live in restoring the Earth to Paradise conditions cultivating crops welcoming back the resurrected ones from the dead and teaching them he says Isaiah 65 verse 23 and 22 describe it Isaiah 65 21-22 and they will certainly build houses and have occupancy and they will certainly plant Vineyards and eat their fruitage they will not build and someone else's occupancy they will not plant and someone else do the eating for like the days of a tree well the days of my people be and the work of their own hands my chosen ones will use to the full do you think you're busy now we will be really busy deeply involved in the most rewarding work we have ever engaged in and our fourth aspect when God's kingdom comes bad conditions will be gone some of those bad conditions are Warfare poverty racism oppression sickness and death in his original purpose Jehovah never intended that the Human family would be afflicted by these conditions how does such conditions affect us now for one thing they create pressures that squeeze people to the point where they do things that they would never do under normal circumstances as Solomon expressed it in Ecclesiastes 7 7 for mere oppression may make a wise one act crazy and even we daily we have to fight the influence of this system of things it's conditions from infecting us with hatred with nationalism with bitterness or with despair Paul wrote to the Christians in Roman Romans 12 2. and quit being fashioned after this system of things what does it tell you this system of things with its bad conditions has a fashioning effect on people it molds them it shapes them and Paul said quit being fashioned by it it's a fight we have to put up a huge resistance to the conditions that affect us so as we're so as not to be formed the way people in the system are formed and so he said instead but be transformed by making your mind over that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God so what will Jehovah do about bad conditions please turn to Psalm 46 verses 8 and 9.
