This video is the fourth in a series on ImViz. In the previous video, we showed how to align the images by WCS Now, we will demonstrate how to interact with your data using the tool itself as opposed to using the notebook. First, we will close the second window used in our previous video.
Next, we will access the plugin toolbar in the upper right of the tool. It is already open from our previous session, but we can close and open the toolbar using this button here. Once open, we see many plugins are available we will go through a couple now, starting with the metadata viewer which shows all values from the file header.
Notice we can select different images and scroll through the variables. The next plugin is the plot options. Here we can manipulate settings such as the color map scale, stretch contrast, and even contours.
For this example, we will change the stretch to square root and the percentage to 90%. If we want to manipulate the second image that we have previously loaded, we could blink the images again or simply turn off the first image. In this example, we change the color map.
There are many other plugins worth exploring. In our next video, We will demonstrate how to use the plug in toolbar to perform Aperture Photometry.
