Well, he's not. Yeah, he's a psychopath. Like, the the the amount for migrants is crazy.
There should be zero dollars for illegal immigrants. Yeah, you heard that right. Psychopath.
And believe it or not, that's actually the mild part. Joe Rogan and several fellow liberals went straight after Zoran Mandani, breaking down his arguments point by point and holding absolutely nothing back. But before we go any further, if you enjoy short commentary videos with full breakdowns, take just two seconds to subscribe to the channel.
All right, now pay close attention because this is where everything starts to change. Oh, you see Mandami is like he's trying to figure out a way to use his budget. His budget is higher than the entire budget of the state of Florida, which has three times more people.
No, it's not. Is it? Yes, it is.
Yeah. The budget for Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Look it up. [clears throat] that the budget for New York City is larger than the budget for the state of Florida.
Holy, I did not know this. Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is true. Uh we should look it up, but uh I was reading an article about it today, unless the article's completely full.
They were saying that it's several billion dollars more for New York City than it is for the entire state of Florida, which has roughly three times as many people living. Rogan then gave Michael Malice one number that seemed to sum up the entire argument in a single sentence. New York City's budget is now larger than the entire budget of the state of Florida.
And that's despite Florida having roughly three times as many residents. New York City's preliminary fiscal year 2027 budget came in at around $127 billion, while Florida's state budget for the same fiscal year was roughly $17 billion, serving more than $23 million people. From Rogan's perspective, this goes beyond normal city planning.
He sees it as the result of years of unchecked spending, finally catching up with one city of just around 8 million people. Oh, is that true, Jamie? I'll try to um I I just I go back, you know, once a month to do Gutfeld and I can't believe I'm saying this as a former New Yorker, but I like LA better now than New York.
Whoa. It It hurts me physically to say what's wrong with New York now. There's no here it is [clears throat] popping amount insider called insanity is up around 11 billion from the current year.
It's like 9% up. A record $127 billion budget proposal on Tuesday. The socialist leader city leader plan includes a whopping 9.
5% proposed property tax hike. 9. 5 hike on New Yorkers, which he claims would be a last resort while allocating another 1.
2 billion for migrants. Migrants a record 127 billion preliminary budget. a proposed 9.
5% property tax hike as a fallback and more than $1 billion set aside for migrant services in the same budget cycle. That property tax increase alone could affect more than 3 million residential units and over 100,000 commercial properties across every burrow. And according to Rogan's argument, this is exactly the financial pressure point many New York homeowners have been worried about since election night.
The last time property taxes rose this sharply was under Mayor Bloomberg in 2003, more than two decades ago. It's still a proposal though. He hasn't passed it.
Well, he's not. Yeah, he's a psychopath. The the amount for migrants is crazy.
There should be zero dollars for illegal immigrants. Zero. I I don't think you can have zero cuz if they're going to be there, they're going to be you have to feed them.
You have to take You have to do something with them. Like literally, if if you don't feed them, they're going to be robbing stores. They have to Human beings need food.
What are you going to do? Get them jobs. How are you going to get a migrant a job?
Uh get them a job in Guatemala. Rogan pushed back on the cost of funding services for people who entered the country illegally. Malice tried to find a middle ground, but Rogan pointed to the numbers.
New York City spent more than $8 billion on asylum seeker services from 2023 to 2025 with another $3. 6 billion projected through 2029. Critics say those costs are adding even more pressure to the city's budget and property tax debate.
NYC Mayor Zoran Mam Donny's latest plan to soak the rich, reduce a tax credit favored by thousands of business owners, and use the proceeds to pay down the city's mammoth debt while not giving up his socialist agenda gimmies like city-owned grocery stores. The credit is called the PTE or pass through entity tax credit. And according to the NYC Office of the Comproller, it generated some $1.
7 billion dollars from filers with income of 1 million and higher in 2025. Now, the credit helps offset federal limits on state and local taxes by rebating a city level tax. I know it's complicated.
Mom Donnie says it's a tax cut for the rich, but business owners, well, they disagree. Mom Donnie reportedly cut a small business tax credit as he looked for ways to address the city's budget gap. That credit was worth roughly $1.
7 billion a year to taxpayers earning over $1 million. Critics argue that targeting these businesses could discourage investment, which could eventually affect jobs, rents, and everyday costs. From Rogan's perspective, it's another decision that could weaken New York's business base.
And I've been doxed. You've been doxed? What?
Tell me. Uh, so I don't know if you've heard, but Mayor Mom Donnie has decided to release a list of the 950,000 residences with addresses and names that might be eligible for his pietary tax. Liberal podcaster and professor Scott Galloway not a big fan of New York City Mayor Zoron Mdani publishing a database of those eligible for his peter tax.
The city's finance department said the law required publicizing the property role. Galloway had more to say on the matter. Let's listen.
I I came out in favor of this tax. This is the definition. He's taken a legitimate source of tax revenue and he's turning it into a wanted poster.
And the question I would have is other than trying to identify and imply these people have done something wrong and then 18 months after a healthcare CEO was executed in the street and then published the list. What What is the upside here? Why is he doing this?
Scott Galloway is a lifelong Democrat and an NYU professor who supported the tax idea before it was introduced. Yet, he called the new property database a wanted poster on his podcast. Around 950,000 homes were listed with names and addresses, while only about 17,000 were actually targeted by the tax.
Critics argue that means the vast majority of people had their information exposed without being affected by the tax. Not to leave any doubt, New York Mayor Mandani once tweeted Karl Marx's words exactly. They're not trying to hide it.
Their most popular influencer, Hassan thinks communism is so groovy, he laments the fall of the two of the most murderous regimes in history, the Soviet Union and Chairman Ma's China. Mandami's aid, his top aid, Sia Weaver, said, "If you don't believe in the government's sacred right to seize property, it's over and impoverish the white middle class. " What?
That's a That's a goal. You know, you're supposed to scare people into voting for you, right? Manny has previously quoted Karl Marx on social media with those posts still publicly available.
Critics see that as a sign of an ideology they believe America has already rejected. From Rogan's perspective, voters care more about safe streets, reliable services, responsible budgets, and practical solutions. He argues that openly embracing Marxist ideas could push moderate voters further away.
One of the new soontobe democratic congress people Darllesia Shioalier supports seizing all properties from landlords [music] and said seize the means of production. Mandami has said the end goal is seizing the means of production. I think they want to seize the means of production.
Now maybe you missed that in school or missed school alto together but that's communism. That's communism, which we tried and it doesn't [music] work. Parties can change sometimes.
You know, you have to keep up. Who freed the slaves? Republicans.
Lincoln. Democrats were the racist party back then. But then JFK got elected and it switched.
The DSA itself has switched even 5 years ago. It shunned communists. That changed.
[music] Things change. Seize the means of production. That's not a phrase pulled from nowhere.
It's the exact wording Bill Maher read on air while discussing comments from newly elected members of today's Democratic party. Mom Donnie has also discussed similar ideas in past interviews. Critics argued that this kind of rhetoric can push moderate voters away.
From Mars perspective, when a party's loudest voices promote ideas many Americans have rejected for generations, it risks sounding less connected to everyday voters and more like an academic debate in an elite classroom. You have a mayor who took out the eliting Hispanic uh congressman in New York City who after he had endorsed him before. So, okay, that's interesting.
And then you find out that Jim Klyber says, "I looked at that audience that shows up for his events. No one looks like me. Now I assume he wasn't like 80.
He wasn't talking about 80-year-old people. I assume he was talking about black people. So now you have the most interesting political civil war between minorities to liberal Democrats and socialist Democrats.
And the momentum and perhaps the money and maybe the political power is with the socialist Democrats. When you got AOC, you got Bernie Sanders. Uh, when you got Elizabeth Warren, you got really like the Beatles of Democrats showing up.
The Democratic Party's internal fight is now playing out openly in New York City. Mom Donnie helped push out a senior Hispanic elected official, while longtime civil rights leader Jim Clybar commented publicly on the racial makeup of the mayor's rallies. Both developments were reported by major New York outlets.
From Rogan's perspective, this shows a deeper divide within the party, especially when its newer wing begins clashing with longtime allies. What will you say if he gets into office and um says, "Look, the Palestinian thing is being settled. I'm now the mayor of New York.
I don't want to talk about that anymore. " So, if you ask me any questions about Palestine, I'm the mayor of New York. I have feelings about it.
I have opinions. Great. They're right.
you shouldn't talk about it. Wouldn't that be a great thing to say and then say I got elected not because of what I think about Palestine. I got elected although some of the youthful idiots of course love him for it.
Um I got elected because this city is not affordable. And then what if he and and of course everyone saying a lot of what he's proposing is impossible. Yeah.
which I would if I was a betting person, I would bet on that opinion that it it's not real, it's not really going to work to have grocery stores that are governmentrun and free buses and freeze on housing rents because capitalism as bad as it is is over and over again we learn the same lesson. It's the worst system except for all the others. That would be my guess.
What if he has success? What would you say? Bill Maher raised a question many New Yorkers have been asking.
Once the mayor is actually in city hall, will he focus on the foreign policy issues that fueled his campaign or on the everyday services millions of New Yorkers depend on? The mayor of New York does not control US foreign policy. From Mars perspective, that's where mom Donniey's political brand could collide with the responsibilities of his actual job.
Rogan sees a similar pattern, pointing to what happened in California under Gavin Newsome. Especially at this point in my life, you know, like if if he did I want people to feel safe in New York City, you know, I want my wife to feel safe. My wife is a tough broad.
She doesn't feel safe in in Midtown Manhattan during the day. Really? But my wife in the last two or three years has been groped in in Times Square and got proposed to on the train by a homeless person all between 11 a.
m. and 300 p. m.
I don't care that you're homeless. You know what I mean? And it bothered me so deeply that this happened to her.
When you touch my wife and my wife is violated, I get to thinking, "I'm sorry that you're mentally ill. I'm sorry that whatever you're on and wherever got you to this place, but you're touching my wife at 3:00 p. m.
on 47th and 6th. " Michael's story about his wife in Time Square highlighted concerns about daily life in New York City. According to a 2026 Vital City analysis, serious subway crime remained more than 100% above 2019 levels.
Manhattan also continues to report the city's highest property crime rate. From Rogan's perspective, public safety is no longer a side issue. It's a major concern for families deciding whether to stay in New York.
If you think New York can somehow reinvent this wheel, you're in for a rude awakening. Zoran can't make your wishes come true. You're thinking of Zar.
Democratic socialism is like a dating profile. Things look great until you meet up in the real world. For example, Bernie Sanders, his big thing was always bringing singlepayer health care to our country of 340 million.
[music] But when liberal tie-dyed Vermont tried to do it for a population of 626,000, it collapsed like that poor in the Oval Office last week. [applause] Bernie, AOC, Mandani are not Democrats. Vermont tried singlepayer healthcare for its small population and eventually abandoned the plan after the cost proved too high.
Critics now worry that expanding similar ideas nationwide could create even bigger problems. Broen Maher and others have raised concerns about New York City's $127 billion budget, rising costs, crime, and taxes on businesses and property owners. Their argument is simple.
New York could become a warning for other cities considering the same policies. What do you think? Are these ideas moving the Democratic party too far left?
Or could New York become a model for the future?
