deep squat is the most fundamental body weight and Mobility exercise with profound anti-aging benefits and Truth to be told it's not even an exercise deep squat is a normal human resting position and this is something that people in India Asia and people in the less industrialized parts of the world understand very well it's kind of sad that people in more developed countries like the United States and Europe tend to look at the Deep squat as an advanced exercise and that's because most adults in these countries are unable to get in and out of this position
without struggle but it's important to know that losing the ability to get in and out of this position has nothing to do with aging you simply don't lose your ability to do a deep squat because you're too old you're too old because you stop get getting in and out of this position we're obviously very fortunate to have comfortable chairs and couches and regular toilets but the downfall of that is that we don't get to do a lot of squatting in our daily activities unless we exercise children are by Design able to rest in this position
as well as get in and out of it but what happens when you stop using your ability to get in and out of the deep squat is that the muscles the tendons and the ligaments lose some of the elasticity and your joints become stiff this results in a limited range of motion which then becomes a deeper issue because when I get in and out of this deep squat I put my joints through the full range of motion which means that I get an even distribution of pressure on my joints but if all you do is
just a half squat or getting in and out of a chair you never get to use the four inch of motion then your joints will wear out much much faster because there is way too much pressure on that part of the joint that small part of the joint that is being used and the rest of the joints range becomes Rusty and that's exactly what then causes all kinds of chronic pain and degenerative joint diseases and according to statistics countries in which people use the Deep squat as their resting position they spent a lot of time
in this position then these countries have the lowest incidence of osteoarthritis so squatting deep does not hurt your joints it doesn't cause arthritis it protects you from it and the other thing to remember is that unless you tore a cartilage in your knee or unless you have some other mechanical knee disorder doing a lot of strength training for your legs and doing a lot of deep squatting will eliminate most causes of knee pain because most knee pain results from the lack of strength in the muscles that support and surround the knee but unfortunately most people
respond to knee pain by doing less strengthening exercises and less squatting which of course then makes the problem worse so remember that motion is lotion and a joint cannot remain healthy unless it moves through its full available range of motion on a regular basis and besides your ability to maintain this deep squat position and most importantly being able to get in and out of this position easily is fundamental to your overall Mobility as well as athletic performance and when I say athletic performance I don't mean just professional athletes because if you're someone who likes to
exercise at home or if you like to go to exercise classes at the gym or if you like to do Sports on the weekends then you are engaging in athletic activities and that's why athletic performance is really important for you as well so now let's talk about how to improve your deep squat position and how often you should be practicing but before I do that let me introduce you to the sponsor of this video the green chef green Chef is a certified organic meal kit company that makes eating clean and living a healthy lifestyle a

if you can't quite get into that bottom squat position and how often you should practice if you're talking about this deep squat position and body weight squats then we should be really doing that every single day if you want to reap the anti-aging benefits that this exercise and this position has on our joints especially because you know if you are free in your hips if you have a good Mobility people with good Mobility feel free to move in their body and what it does is that it allows the energy in your body to just flow
freely you're gonna feel that you're not gonna feel as tired as somebody who has really stiff hips and I would recommend that you use this position for things that you might be doing otherwise in a chair so maybe you can work on your computer like this you can watch TV like this you name it just spend a few minutes every single day in the deep squats position and do just a few body weight squats every single day because that's going to make a huge difference and also you can just simply use a wall to spend
time in this resting position because if you press your back against the wall then you're gonna be able to keep your heels on the ground and you're already getting benefits of the deep squat just by doing this with your back against the wall if you can't squat all the way down without your heels coming off of the ground because you fall over due to lack of mobility in your ankles then don't worry about it because you can definitely improve that just by holding on to something and the easiest thing to do is to hold on
to a doorway because then you can grab that doorway get into that bottom position and make sure that your heels are on the ground your back is straight do not round your back your back is straight and then just simply pull yourself towards the wall without lifting the heels off of the ground this way you're gonna work on your ankle mobility and also you're gonna build more strength and stability in this bottom position the more you do this and then also you know start doing squats just hold on to the wall hold on to the
doorway get all the way up and back down do that 10 times repeat three times you know those threaded wraps are not gonna take that much time if you do this every single day then within two to three weeks you might be able to get in and out of that deep squat all by yourself without lifting the heels off of the ground so make sure to stay consistent over the next couple weeks and if you need more guidance or if you want to improve your strength and Mobility by doing the same things that I do
